Great atmosphere, a big biergarten in the middle of the huge forest park. You come here to hang out with friends and have some beer. Wine is not the best, might not feel well after it. Few veggie options.

Super nice, relaxed place! Beer garden with a view of the water. Wonderful. I just think the food selection could be bigger: pretzels, pizza, ice cream, and cake.

Parking is practically nonexistent, so it's best to come on foot or by bike. We encountered quite a few wasps.

It's pretty nice here, except for the smoke clouds. And I don't understand why you can't have orange soda in a glass, but you can have a shandy, and just a portion of fried potatoes, with nothing else.

I went there with my company. The service was very good. The food was okay. A line on the bill was swapped, so the employer didn't accept it. When I asked for a change to the bill, I wrote to the accounting department five times asking for it to be corrected. So far, it still hasn't arrived. Never again. Instead, I'll go to the beer garden where I have to pay myself and don't need an invoice...

The place is really expensive imo and since its huge, its self service. But the location is great, the vibes are immaculate, and while you are in Berlin on a sunny day, it's a must visit. The surrounding make up for the price!

Nice spot for a beer but the food wait times were atrocious and not worth it

There’s a restaurant and during the summer there is a ‘Biergarten’ too. They are is situated in Tiergarten, next to a small lake. You can rent boats to go for a boat ride. There’s some food and drink stalls. Not the best good and drinks but here, you come for the setting,

It was Saturday evening, the place was crowded, we were 8, I asked for a beer it took more than 30 minutes to bring the beer, then I asked for the second beer and it has never arrived. The guy serving us, 10 times said he is busy, there are a lot of people, and some more sentences to make us feel uncomfortable from the start. At then end, first he refused to accept separate payments from us, then after complaining he came back with pos-terminal with default +10% tip enabled, without asking us. It was a completely ridiculous experience.

Large beer garden by the new lake. Self-service works very well, but you'll need patience in the service area. The food is actually okay, but in the self-service area, it's practically slapped onto the plate and pushed across the counter, which isn't very appealing, unfortunately.

Attended a large company event (~250 people) in a scenic park setting by the lake. Food was good, grilled meats were solid (though the beef portion could have been more generous). Friendly and attentive staff, despite the crowd. Seating logistics were poor - there were not enough proper seats set up at the start, so many people had to eat standing up. Only after it became obvious did they bring out extra beer garden benches, which were not exactly comfortable for dining. Not what you expect from a premium private booking. Beer selection is standard - the Weizen was okay, but do not expect craft or Czech-level quality.

A great place for lunch, dinner, or just a drink. You can take a boat ride for a great price or just sit by the water. It's crowded, like everywhere in Berlin, but I think it's really worth it. The drinks are delicious, and the food is delicious too. I definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to expectations, especially considering the rather high prices. The pasta was far from al dente, the lamb was tough, the sauce was mostly oil, and the dish was served lukewarm. The location itself is truly beautiful and inviting. The service staff was also friendly, but the entire process seemed very uncoordinated. The wait times were long, both for the food and between meals. Overall, the value for money here is unfortunately not at all right. The prices are unjustified for food of this quality. It's a shame, because the ambiance had potential.

13 Euro pizza looks/tastes worse than pizza from supermarket

We've been coming here for 30 years. It's unfortunately lost a bit of its charm. The food is mediocre, several dishes are unavailable, and the service is overwhelmed. The gentleman at reception was very nice. He initially arranged our table and arranged the parasol for us. It's a shame, we probably won't be coming back.

The beer garden is really nice and super convenient with the self-service. Unfortunately, I didn't like the food. The pizza, in particular, was very thin and dry. The pretzel was old and almost too hard to chew. That really needs some improvement.

The food was absolutely delicious and the place is truly charming — cozy, beautifully decorated, and with a great atmosphere. However, our experience with the greeter was disappointing. When we arrived, she asked us to wait while a table was being cleaned. After about 20 minutes, we noticed that the table had been given to another party. She told us there was nothing she could do, but that she would look for another table, which we completely understood — the place was very crowded, and with so many people, it’s easy to get things mixed up. What really bothered us was what happened next: she continued seating people who had just arrived, even though we had been waiting much longer. When we politely pointed this out, her response was, “It’s not nice that you’re interrupting me.” That comment felt completely inappropriate — as if we were bothering her by simply asking about the table we had been waiting for all this time. If we hadn’t “interrupted,” we might still be waiting. It’s a shame, because everything else was great. Hopefully the service attitude can match the quality of the food in the future.

Beautiful location and the food was delicious. Unfortunately, there was no flexibility given my lactose intolerance – I politely asked if they could make a pizza without cheese. It's actually not a big deal to just put the pizza in the oven with tomato sauce. But they completely rejected my request, saying that "all pizzas are made with cheese." Very disappointing.

Nice beer garden. The menu bears no resemblance to what you'd find online, but there's still a good selection and quick self-service. There's absolutely no flexibility when it comes to special requests. For example, there are only two types of pizza, and even omitting an ingredient from a pizza isn't possible.

Great food, busy staff and a little bit chaotic, we decided to order then find a quiet spot fronting the lake, my son had a great time exploring, toilet was always clean. Nice vibe, quite pricey but delicious food.

We were denied entry two times at this place. First we could understand as we didn’t have a reservation. The second time we made a reservation and they accepted and cancelled after 1 hour and denied entry. The staff is quite cold and not at all tourist friendly.

We spontaneously arrived around midday or early afternoon, around 2:00 p.m. It was a Thursday. Perhaps because it was a weekday, at the time mentioned, and not peak travel season or school holidays, it was pleasantly empty, and we quickly found a spot. It must be said that the choice of spots is huge, and there should be something for everyone—from the center of the area to more on the periphery. Whether it was benches, garden chairs, or comfortable patio armchairs. We each had a pizza and an iced coffee. The pizza was freshly topped and quickly cooked in the oven. The price was great for the location and the quality of the food. We parked in the adjacent embassy district, right next to the Spanish Embassy. However, you have to get a parking ticket here.

The salad had been sitting around for far too long during the day and was partially moldy. Thankfully, I got a new one, but I had to wait about 15 minutes for it. The burger with fries and truffle mayonnaise was okay, but definitely not worth the price. The espresso I had after the meal was lukewarm, and I had to wait at least 10 minutes for that, too. The staff was generally friendly, but sorry. It's not working if I have to apologize four times for minor gaffes.

Lovely lunch or late breakfast place with great outdoor seating. Love the concept of ordering food and then adding the desired amount and type of bread/butter from a separate bread buffet with homemade bread. Good food and a good selection of juices/smoothies and alcoholic drinks.

Spectacular terrace and restaurant in the heart of Berlin, next to the Tiergarten Lake and the Zoo. Without a doubt, the most beautiful traditional beer garden in Berlin. Ideal for a beer and snacks, an elegant and well-deserved dinner in the restaurant, or hosting company events or family celebrations. The atmosphere is cozy, a bit noisy during peak times, as is normal, but the service, the views, and the space make up for it all. You can take a boat ride, which is more than inviting in the summer.

I ate yesterday here and that’s a self service. The food was average and the price was right for what we ate. Really good atmosphere, the only thing was that we wanted to go to travel by boat in the lake becasue we thought that it was free, but then we discovered that cost like 14€ per hour, but there wasn’t any sign that told us that. Anyway it was a peaceful place and quietly recommend it.

Cozy place in the middle of the park, nice and shady place to relax after a long walk in the heat. Food/drink ordering felt unnecessarily complicated and unclear. Basic white wine, German beer and pretzels with mustard had to be dropped.

We had breakfast that really was like a brunch. Large and really good tasting portions. Nice and helpful staff. Great atmosphere.

Currently waiting about 2 hours no food. Not worth your time it was busy when we came it is much much quieter now I’ve asked two servers where our food is both saying they will check with the kitchen and no one has come back with an answer. NOT WORTH THE WAIT. It looks like there’s another 3 tables around us who haven’t had food and all of those table including our own have children waiting for food. If the wait is going to be that long you have to tell the customers. One of those ladies has already walked out angry. Ask yourself how hungry you are before you choose to eat here. Especially for the price the service is seriously lacking.

Worst service ive ever experienced, took us 50 minutes to just order a beer and it was extremely calm in the restaurant. Rude staff as well.

If you enjoy being completely ignored while the staff chats, laughs, and sips cocktails behind the bar — this is the place for you. We waited over 40 minutes and not a single person came to take our order. Zero service, zero interest. We left hungry and unimpressed. Never again.

We were at the Café am Neuen See with a group of 10 people on a Sunday. It was busy, but the service was completely overwhelmed. Most dishes took over an hour to arrive, and one was completely forgotten. When it finally arrived after repeated requests, we didn't want it anymore. Plates and glasses weren't cleared away, and some dishes were only lukewarm. Unfortunately, given the price and the café's reputation, this was a rather disappointing experience.

We were seated in the waiting area and were looking forward to a lovely afternoon at the Café am Neuen See. The ambiance is truly wonderful – surrounded by greenery, right on the water, very idyllic. Unfortunately, the service couldn't keep up: completely overwhelmed, long waits, and a lack of clarity. Our meal took over an hour, and two ordered dishes were completely forgotten. The quality of the food was also, unfortunately, only mediocre – nothing that justified the price or the wait. It's a shame, because with better service and a little more care, the café really had a lot of potential.

On Sunday, we enjoyed a truly delicious breakfast on the sunny terrace. The waitresses were very attentive and the service impeccable. The tables are a little close together, so it can get a bit noisy from the neighboring table. But otherwise, nothing to complain about! Definitely worth it!

Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant experience at this café. We accidentally entered the terrace from the back, unaware that the entrance was elsewhere. The waiter immediately reacted dismissively and condescendingly, even though several tables were free. When we asked for a quick coffee, we were sent inside without a word, accompanied by body language full of disdain – behind a seemingly friendly but arrogant smile. He assigned us a seat and mockingly suggested we should use the main entrance next time and that we probably had no business being there if we didn't have time. We felt unwelcome and decided to leave. Other (German, older) guests who also entered from the back were not reprimanded – which leaves us with some questions. It's a shame, because the place is actually nice. Friendly interaction would have made a big difference.

The food was incredibly bad, but expensive. That wasn't great. At least the staff was very friendly and the location was great.

We had a reservation for 16 people, but four were missing seats. Upon request, the four people were seated individually. Drink orders were forgotten. The meat was tough, the fries were cold, and the salad was soggy. When we ordered dessert, we were told the next reservation was waiting, but we still had 45 minutes. Finally, dessert was served, with vanilla ice cream instead of mango sorbet... never again :(

We arrived at 7:15 p.m., but there was no sign of our reservation. So we were seated inside at two barely clean tables. We waited 15 minutes for a server to come and take our drink order. The drinks arrived at 7:45 p.m., and only then could we order our food. We waited a full hour for the food, which was served at 8:45 p.m. The food was good, but the masala chicken was undercooked and still pink inside. Our servers were friendly, but it's unacceptable to make guests wait that long. If they don't have enough staff in the kitchen and dining room, they should reduce the number of tables and reservations. We came to celebrate our wedding anniversary with friends and went home disappointed and upset.

The chicken was not salty and completely tasteless.

You're only going there for the vibes and the atmosphere. Normal Biergarten food, would recommend the eis outside

Unfortunately, a very mixed impression... The quality of the food and the ambiance were impeccable. However, the service and the bill layout clearly had room for improvement. For example, we were charged for extra avocados without asking, and the bottles of water (which were already on the table) were also "not a service of the house." Therefore, I probably won't go back to the Café am neuen See. Unfortunately, the value for money isn't 100% right; there are better alternatives in Berlin.

Maybe not necessarily for the food although it's quite good breakfast but especially in season to enjoy some peace and quiet outside from your walk in Tiergarten in the huge Biergarten in a nice spot. And go crazy: go in the boat with your lover.

A disaster for dinner - not recommended!! The location is really beautiful by the lake. The food was a disaster!! The pizza isn't pizza, but a tarte flambée, which is extremely thin. The crust breaks like chips and is inedible. For that price, it's outrageous. And it was cold when it arrived on the table. You definitely can't and shouldn't call it pizza!!! The pasta portions are extremely small and unreasonable for the price. This is supposed to be a full meal for dinner, not an appetizer. There wasn't much ragu to be seen, or at least very little meat. The bottle of white wine was so warm that even the wine cooler didn't cool it down. Only ice cubes helped. You could also only order bottled wine and not open 1-liter carafes, even though they're listed on the menu. The ice cubes probably wouldn't have been a problem. The burgers were delicious, both vegan and meat-based. The service was very attentive and really hard-working.

I would not recommend anyone to go to this place. Our group of seven was denied entry, even after we followed the staff’s request to make a reservation. We stepped outside to do that, and when we returned, we were still refused entry. The waiter was extremely rude and said we weren’t allowed in because of our “attitude.” The whole experience felt unfair and discriminatory to us. I strongly advise against going to this place.

I had the chance to visit 3 times in total at different times. There is nothing like getting your food and drinks and sitting by the water on the weekend. The self-service area looks crowded but the line comes quickly. There is also a seating area like a restaurant. Their desserts are very good. I had the chance to try their Apfelstrudel. It would be appropriate for one person to reserve a place to sit in the open area.

Disabled people and those with walking difficulties cannot place orders because the reception area has been deliberately blocked. This is to prevent people from leaving without paying, according to the service staff.

I was there two days ago for lunch. There were five of us. We had a reservation. After we'd already waited a long time, I spoke to a receptionist, and she kindly sent her colleague to the front. He was totally annoyed, unfriendly, and didn't even let us finish our sentences. Our orders were also taken incorrectly. When we saw that summer vegetables had been brought instead of the summer salad and immediately informed them, they reacted rudely again. They then brought us an extra salad for free. However, they again fobbed us off in an annoyed manner. I've always really enjoyed going to the Café am neuen See. Sure, you often had to wait longer in the past, but the service was friendly. This time, in my opinion, was completely unacceptable.

Very nice location. They serve both savory and sweet dishes. Homemade cakes and various café specialties. The coffee is relatively small, but very expensive. You can choose your own seating. No waiter service, only self-service. The restrooms on site are very clean and nicely located. Definitely a highlight in the summer and highly recommended.

For a stylish meal, the restaurant inside is definitely preferred, and for a peaceful and quiet environment, the garden is definitely preferred. For the garden, after taking your orders from the service area, you pay the bill at the cash register at the exit. Then you move to a nice place to enjoy the peaceful view with your tray. One of the most beautiful places in Berlin.

The location of this cafe is somewhat hidden, but beautiful. You can enjoy the lake and nature while you eat. I think it's always busy here, but you can come without making a reservation.

The guy at the door literally rolled his eyes at us when we said we were there just to have some drinks and when we waited for 15 minutes before leaving after no one took our order. We did not feel welcome.

The cafe is gorgeous and right along the park trail. The Watermelon Salad and the Blueberry Matcha was delicious. You can watch people on boats on the water. We came during the day, but I’m sure it’s gorgeous at night with the string lights and trees. A lovely place to eat anytime.
