Cozy place, but the service is awful. We waited over an hour for a beer in an almost empty café before finally canceling our order. Disappointing experience!

Unfortunately the cod was too dry and the bacon was forgotten otherwise it was cozy. The toilets are poorly signposted and difficult to reach for people with walking difficulties, but are otherwise clean and attractive. The Kaiserschmarren was great

Were there today with the children. The service person gave the children the cocoa without comment. My son drank it and immediately burned his tongue with a blister. When I pointed out that a warning and perhaps a different levy would have been nice, they said it wasn't their problem and they couldn't do anything.

Nice Christmas market with mulled wine

You can eat there in large groups and even enjoy outdoor activities in summer and winter, but parking spaces are inconvenient and have to be paid for.

The evening was great! And especially the winter market and the delicious mulled wine. We'd love to come back. And thank you for the great hospitality.

Great curling, delicious goose food. Always happy again

The portion sizes varied greatly despite the same prices. Those who had the goose were full, those who had the vegetarian alternative unfortunately had to stay hungry. In the bread basket, which for completely inexplicable reasons was filled with cold cuts, even for vegetarians, was brought burned after cancellation. The wish to have more food for the vegetarians would be accepted but then forgotten. Just like some drink requests. For the price you shouldn't stay thirsty or hungry. But what was served was delicious, which is why it still gets 3 out of 5 stars overall.

The perfect winter trip! I absolutely loved this winter market! The atmosphere is incredible - warm lights everywhere, the smell of mulled wine and freshly baked delicacies. I tried curling for the first time and did surprisingly well (well, at least it was fun!). Afterwards there was mulled wine to warm up, and it was really perfect. It's just a great place to spend a nice time with friends and enjoy the winter days. I'll definitely be back!

A wonderful winter market to relax in! The winter market is simply fantastic! The cozy atmosphere with all the lights, the smell of mulled wine and the delicious food makes it something very special. Curling was a lot of fun and a real highlight! After a few relaxing rounds, you can warm up wonderfully with mulled wine or hot chocolate. This winter market is the perfect place to fully enjoy the cold season. Absolutely recommended!

A very nice romantic place. Especially at Christmas time. 🎄 The restaurant is quite nice but our highlight was the outdoor area by the lake. Totally lovingly decorated for Christmas, not overcrowded like the commercial Christmas markets. There are campfires, so it's very cozy and the mulled wine is very tasty and not a mass-produced product, you can taste it. 😌 Unfortunately I didn't take a photo, but go and see for yourself. It's worth it even if you don't go to the restaurant. :)

The Cafe am Neuen See offers a great ambience, great food and a nice atmosphere. Proximity to the zoo completes the picture. The winter market with its great leisure activities and a cup of good mulled wine is also worth a visit winter worth it!

The café is wonderfully located and exudes an incredibly beautiful and pleasant atmosphere. The service, on the other hand, is absolutely underground. I have never been served or treated so badly. It comes with the very instructive information from an arrogant gentleman that you normally wait in every restaurant until you are seated. When I pointed out that a sign with this request at the entrance would be helpful, I was informed that it was something from the 90s. He asked us to vacate the table by the fireplace (which didn't have a reserved sign on it either) and took us to a very dirty table by the drafty window and disappeared to see pictures on his cell phone with a colleague at a distance. The café was about 25 percent full, with at least 5 waiters present, plus a bartender. For us (even those with some experience in this area from our studies) the picture was relaxed. After 5 minutes we caught hold of another gentleman who was apparently responsible for our table and asked for a rag. He then came with a cloth to clean all the tables without asking us if we wanted to order. We forced him to order two coffees and a bottle of water and then we waited about 15 minutes to get a bottle of water without glasses. But they came promptly. The coffee then took another 5 minutes and was delivered without saucers, which didn't matter to us. 😄 We took it with humor. Luckily, this wasn't our first date, otherwise it could have gone really wrong. We also ordered pancakes. But we were later told that they were out, just as the good service that day had probably disappeared. After hearing the message about the missing pancakes, the waiter immediately disappeared, but I was able to call out to him that in this case we would like cake. He called over his shoulder that he would be right back to take the order. The coffee had already been drunk when we were able to order the very delicious apple cake. The waiter apologized repeatedly and at least acknowledged that EVERYTHING went wrong at our table today. We nodded and smiled. I jokingly said that he should just bring us a drink to make us forget these mishaps. We were just eating the last crumbs of the cake when he cashed in at the next table. He looked over at us and asked what kind of schnapps we would like. He let my question about which one he had to offer go unheard in the room. Instead, after about half an hour, I asked for the bill, which came unexpectedly quickly. Here we were charged for the undelivered pancakes, which we luckily noticed before leaving after I got the receipt that wasn't handed over. We were then disparagingly thrown 10 euros cash on the table with the comment that we had actually done something good. We actually left out the tip after the conglomerate of resentment and poor service. However, we need a lot to achieve this. It's completely normal for something to go wrong. But how to straighten things out and show the guest that they are not completely unwelcome and a nuisance is the art that everyone serving at our table urgently needs to learn. We go out often and are (subjectively speaking) pleasant guests who tip generously and always give a friendly thank you in return. We are not complainers who would prefer to be thrown out the door by every waitress. This experience was really worth this long report. This place has so much potential. But this stay was really absolutely bad! Good staff is hard to find, as my grandfather said. This café shows this very clearly.

The atmosphere is great! Unfortunately, yesterday I saw (I was sitting in the bar) how long food waits to be served (some over 15 minutes!!!) unfortunately my Crepe Suzette wasn't even lukewarm 😔 and was served with chocolate sauce instead of orange 😯

An extremely cozy and dog-friendly cafe! One of the waitresses was particularly impressive, as he turned out to be a real dog whisperer. My French bulldog was initially quite distracted by the other dogs, but he quickly calmed the situation down. A great place for dogs and humans :)

I was there yesterday for a Christmas team dinner. The service was nice, waiters were friendly. However, I found the food not so good. It was salty and portions were small. For an expensive restaurant the chairs were super uncomfortable! Price and the experience wasn’t matching. Nice atmosphere and staff but not so good food.

I am so glad we came across this place whilst walking. The atmosphere in there is incredible. So stylish yet cosy and comfortable. Sat by the fire on a crisp morning, had a nice coffee and the best scrambled eggs I think i’ve ever had! 100% would recommend.

Great atmosphere, but not in the least justified for these prices in the restaurant. We ate the omelette with salmon. The salmon was sufficient, but the omelet was not seasoned, the small salad only had a hint of vignette, no salt and pepper on the table, the butter was bone hard and only a small. Slice of bread, the second slice was a thin slice of white bread with holes in it. The matcha was too hot. It's a shame, because the audience here actually runs around with the motto of seeing and being seen. The prices are adjusted accordingly, no problem, but then it has to give. On top of that, the service staff was insulted and behaved in an affected manner. Too bad, too bad...

There was a lot going on here at the weekend - but we only had to wait 5 minutes until we were shown to a table. The ambience in the restaurant is appealing, but the volume is very high. The waiters were all quite friendly. The order arrived within an acceptable waiting time. The menu has a few things to offer, but it's not creative or varied enough for me. The prices are very high. However, it is probably the standard almost everywhere in Berlin.

Stable kitchen and nicely located. Unfortunately, after the new building, the early charm was lost... Too bad!

Lack of organization, cold food, delay in order delivery, the place is beautiful but it needs to be more organized with the orders, the kitchen takes a long time to prepare the dishes. High price but the quality of the food left a lot to be desired

Visited for breakfast as it was very close to our hotel and it was great. The menu has lots of different and fresh options. Coffee was also good. The setting is beautiful on the lake with lots of greenery. The waitress was so kind and helpful, even when it got busy. Would have loved to visit for a beer later in the day but unfortunately didn't have time!

Terrible service, we just came in requesting a table for 4 people, to eat or drink, the girl at the reception looked for a table, (which was available by the way), she told me that it couldn't be possible. I told him that we would wait if it was necessary and he replied that he would not make it possible even if we waited, we felt super discriminated against. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Today we celebrated a baby shower with around 30 people in the cozy fireplace room and had a wonderful time. The room was warm and decorated for Christmas, the food was very good and the service was attentive and quick. The organization in advance was also courteous and professional. The place was very nice, the food was OK for the non vegan person. The service was impatient and rude. I am Vegan, I asked about the asai bowl and asked if it is only fruits. The waiter didn't reply and asked me if I decided what I wanted already, and took the menu in a very rude way. It was not mentioned in the menu any milk products in the bowl. I want again to verify there is no milk - he didn't know and came back to say it is with milk but they already made it and that he will need to pay if I will not pay ... I didn't intend not to pay. But the way he dealt with it was very unprofessional.

There is anarchy in reservations here. We reserved a table for 6 people 5 days before. At the entrance we were told by a waitress who appeared to be 15 years old that the tables were no longer free. There would be no more space. However, friends of the staff behind us in line were preferred and allowed entry. They then sat down at the tables that were still free. Guests were then sent away despite reservations. We weren't the only ones, there was a huge queue and a lot of commotion about the behavior of the staff. Please reconsider staffing.

Very nice location, nice atmosphere, good food, but very poor service because completely understaffed. The waitress rushes from table to table and barely makes it, so that the promised bread doesn't come and payment is made very late despite repeated requests.

The food offering goes far beyond a café. Large dining room that was very well filled and the few employees pushed themselves to the limit of their performance.

In my opinion, the staff unfortunately behaved subparly. Generally the food is okay. Prices are not cheap, but also okay. I found the audience uncomfortable. Overall a bad atmosphere. Edit: ATTENTION The company tried to take legal action against reviews years later. The good rating of this establishment is worth nothing, avoid it at all costs!

Was there for the first time. We had a dog with us and that wasn't a problem. The breakfast we had was great. There were international specialties and the vegan breakfast was also very, very tasty.

One of the rudest and slowest services in Berlin

This place has a different attraction in each season. In warm days, it is refreshing to enjoy the outside area with an awesome lake view. In cold days, the inside area is cozy and warm from the fireplaces. I recently jumped inside after a chilly walk and devoured Kaiserschmarrn, excellent dessert for cold winter days!

The service was excellent, but I didn't like the food that much. The noodles weren't cooked properly the way I wanted them but it didn't matter how the food tasted. The ambience made everything better. Great atmosphere, even if I didn't like the food (it tastes good just for your information), I would still come there.

Love visiting the beer garden in summer. Always a cozy atmosphere. Now in the fall I tried the pumpkin linguini and I'm still dreaming about it. Just perfectly seasoned and prepared. Thank you.

An amazing time at the cafe, the staff are friendly and the drinks are impeccable.

Only the place where the restaurant is located deserves more than 5 stars! Unfortunately, however, the poor distribution of the tables inside, I mean those near the door leading to the outside, the slow service and the high prices lead us to suggest stopping at most for a coffee to have outside. They also don't serve water from the tap. We spent €52 for the two dishes that I leave you and a beer.
