Café am Neuen See in Berlin

Not child-friendly. With a sleeping baby, I'm not allowed to sit two tables away in a quieter, cigarette-free spot because they're no longer serving there. 👎👎👎

A place with a nice atmosphere. The beer is a little expensive, but it's good to drink while enjoying the scenery in the summer.

The place is pretty, the service really good and kind but the food just looks nice and the taste is bad and not worthy for the price.

The service was very slow. The chicken panko was raw and the "homemade" lemonade felt like sprite mixed with water (and a little bit of color).

The food is a tad expensive but at least it's good. The beers are fresh, the view is nice, lot of seating and very good vibes.

Recommend going around the corner instead of the main entrance. Much nicer than the restaurant itself

The most beautiful place I visited in Berlin!

A very cozy place, both on the terrace and inside. We had breakfast in front of the fireplace overlooking the lake, with a bagel with pastrami and avocado, which is highly recommended.

I loved the place. Divinely decorated. A dream view. Very warm. We only had coffee because we wanted a beagle, but it was 1:00 p.m. and they only do it until 12:00. I didn't like the service... a little slow... I didn't quite like it... I will definitely return to give it another chance since I loved the atmosphere and found the menu interesting

Basically a cool shop. Unfortunately the bread was hard, old and arrived crumbled. Two people ordered the same breakfast plate. However, one plate was filled with two more products. Sugar, pepper and salt were only available upon request. The pepper mill was empty when it was brought to us. Of course the price/performance ratio is not right. We won't be coming back 😞

The surroundings are very beautiful. The food is visually beautifully presented (unfortunately not the pear tarte flambée) and tastes good but not outstanding. You have to aggressively draw attention to yourself if you want to be served or get the bill. Maybe it would work better if you made a reservation, we didn't do that and came over spontaneously. For us it took maybe 45 minutes until a waiter came to the table for the first time and we could ask for a menu. This only came after several hand signals. When I asked how long it would take to eat, he said about 20 minutes since it wasn't very busy at the moment. Waiters seemed very young and inexperienced. The attitude of the employees seemed very arrogant. The service definitely could have been friendlier and more attentive. I ordered the tarte flambée with pear, gorgonzola and walnuts. There's actually nothing else on it, it tasted good but it just didn't look lovely. The whole thing would look nicer with some fresh arugula leaves and walnuts that were toasted and caramelized. Conclusion: It was the first and last time for us.

Waited over 40 minutes for bread and dips and sweet potato fries. Seems we were forgotten about and when the food did arrive the fries were cold. No opportunity to tell the staff as no check back was done and there were no staff about to flag down. Atmosphere was nice at least.

I was coming here lot of times, but today is my last time. Short small woman with light brown curly hair was disaster behaviour , totally rude, angry almost kicked us out . She was SO negative that she ruined our day. Never again.

The restaurant was too full on Saturday so I recommend to book a table for the restaurant. We had to go to the beer garden but it was lovely with the good weather. I had the chicken with potato salad and I thought it was greasy and lacked flavour. But the sausage with rosmary potatoes was excellent.

Nice stay with 2 children in the beer garden, relaxed, nice atmosphere. Self-service is well organized, pizza and fried potatoes are very tasty, an additional salad selection would be a nice addition. Tables are regularly cleared by hard-working helpers.

Poor waiters are running around, trying to make everything work. It's really understaffed, and the waiting time is way too long. Food is fine, but not amazing (especially for the proce). But the atmosphere is amazing, place is beautiful!

Definitely not a place for vegetarians. The only meaty thing you can get in the beer garden is an overpriced mozzarella pizza - otherwise there is only sausage (fried potatoes and salad also "only with sausage"). The staff in the café itself is unfriendly and basically threw us out just because we were looking for a table (and apparently you're not allowed to do that...).

Nice surroundings but worn out beer benches. Self-service, staff only speaks English. Cake (1 type, dry) €4.50, pizza salami (extra thin) €12.80. Paper plates and cups. Toilets cost extra, which is a disgrace given their condition. 0.3 non-alcoholic drink in a bottle €3.90, cappuccino in a paper cup also not a culinary experience. Definitely a hotspot for tourists and hip Berliners.

It used to be much better. From individual and with a feel-good factor to a beer garden with mass processing. The staff is unfriendly, the selection of drinks is rather sparse, perhaps too early in March, but when the weather is nice you can expect a corresponding rush. There are better beer gardens in Berlin. It's a shame, the café at the new lake used to be so great.

The view is beautiful from the café and the zoo is also nearby, good places for a walk after. The waitress that took our order was rude and ironic, the rest of the staff was pleasant. The food was ok but not very worth for money, besides eggs benedict which is worth it.

Arrived on 03/06/25. Order placed 1:30 p.m.: pasta carbonara Dish served at 2 p.m. We asked for water when ordering which we did not get. We asked for it twice in a row and we were given a carafe of tap water at the end of our meal for which they charged us €7. Yes 7€ for tap water not even served on time. Inadmissible. The pasta dishes arrived lukewarm and were still €18. All in all, it's a tourist trap.

Always a great spot to rest after a good walk in the park. Food is good taste. If you order from the stands it is quick, but order from the restaurant can take ages.

Quite overpriced for what you get. The pizza is like flamkuchen dough so €19 for Crispy air is disappointing if you've gone on a big walk through the Tiergarten. The atmosphere is busy on a weekend but cool interior and friendly staff. Service was ok and food/drink came fairly quickly considering how full the cafe was.

Cozy place, but the service is awful. We waited over an hour for a beer in an almost empty café before finally canceling our order. Disappointing experience! P.S: Instead of apologies or educating their staff on how to do their job and be respectful to customers, Now they already tried to Report my review 2 times! This feature is here for people to express their experience, You can’t just report any reviews that you don’t like. I‘m more disappointed than before now!!!!!

Nice food . Chicken was lovely . Terrible service , waited so long to order our food and then a ridiculous wait for our drinks . Asked for the bill twice and they never came down with it. Lucky the food makes up for the shocking service.

This really is a great place in the summer. Beer garden, cocktails and boat for rent! You would completely forget that you are in the middle of Berlin. Perfect location for a date.

Unfortunately the staff behaved underground. Generally the food is okay, prices are not cheap, but also okay. I found the audience rather unpleasant, all in all a bad atmosphere.

We hadn't had such nice service in a long time. The welcome was especially great! Very family friendly, small children and babies are welcome

Went there for lunch last summer. The menu was only available upon request (you should take your cell phone). I ordered entrecote medium. Oh well. It wasn't medium but completely done. And pretty cold too.

I would like to write something else, but our reservation was not taken into account and a table was only cleared away by previous guests upon arrival. Well, yes it can happen. Menu is very “clear” and overpriced. But you know that beforehand. Despite the nice atmosphere, all in all pretty disappointing.

We haven't been here for at least 3 years. Before it was neater there (flower pots etc) and service staff took care of clearing and wiping the tables. Unfortunately not this time. In order to have some space, we put the used dishes together and, like on the other tables, they stayed there for over an hour. Even Ben Becker, who was sitting in the café/restaurant with service next door, had to wait 30 minutes until a service finally arrived! My 3 stars are actually too many, because the coffee for 3 EUR was far too expensive for the fact that you had to pick it up yourself.

A beautiful beer garden with a view of the Neuer See. Lively in summer, but in winter you can also enjoy a beer there combined with a walk through the zoo.

I had a wonderful evening in the restaurant! The service was simply first class - the staff was extremely friendly, attentive and very accommodating without being intrusive. You can tell that every detail is paid attention to in order to offer guests an unforgettable experience. I was also completely impressed by the ambience: the cozy atmosphere with warm light and loving details provided the perfect setting to feel completely at home, crowned by the several fireplaces. The food was also excellent and rounded off the overall picture perfectly. I will definitely come back and can only warmly recommend the restaurant!

The bratwurst and the beer were great. But the real highlight was the atmosphere. Nestled by a lake, the outdoor setting is beautiful. What really stood out was the cozy interior with fireplaces. It was such a treat to have a warm, inviting space inside to escape the chill. Whether you’re there for the food, drinks, or ambiance, this café is a gem in the Tiergarten area.

The restaurant is right next to the zoo and is easy to reach. The atmosphere is cozy and invites you to a relaxing evening. If it hadn't taken 100 minutes for the food to be served after ordering, there would have been no risk that it wouldn't have been a lovely evening. And if we had been told when we made the reservation that we would only have our table for two hours, that would have been nice too. To put it bluntly, the two guys in service still made it a very fun and nice evening. I don't want to leave the Ramazzotti that was on the house unmentioned. The starters (a soup and a selection of bread) came after 5 minutes. Only the main courses took that long. However, the next table that came after us had gotten their food earlier. So it doesn't always have to take that long. In general it can be said that our waiter was super friendly. Only rarely present. The restaurant was well attended and there were enough temporary workers walking around, but unfortunately they walked past you instead of coming to the table. So we didn't have a chance to reorder drinks. Or being able to hand over the starter plates. Would have helped with the waiting time, because we would have liked to ensure more drink sales. After the evening I also understood the waiter's question as to whether the starters should come with the main courses... Please excuse my irony; helps me at this point. For the prices of the food, I would like to see more staff. I know it's certainly not easier to find additional specialist staff at Christmas than usual, but maybe it'll work for next year. It's Christmas - I can definitely make a wish. Otherwise, I can't explain how the restaurant can continue to attract regular customers once the mulled wine season is over. Because the mulled wine obviously seems to be very good. By the way, the paper in the toilets quickly ran out and unfortunately wasn't refilled. And the food itself? The portion sizes indeed vary, despite similar prices of different dishes. But the food tasted very good. Unfortunately, this Christmas Eve it has become a minor matter. By the way, we were able to leave the restaurant after three and a half hours...dessert took 45 minutes. But that's just by the way. With that in mind, a happy new year and a successful 2025. Then maybe there will be a fourth or fifth star and I won't have to write my review while I'm still sitting in the restaurant. I had enough time.

The pizza doesn't have a lot of ingredients, but it's simple and delicious. The duck skin is crispy and fragrant, but the duck meat is not juicy and smooth. The Chinese-style roast duck is more juicy. The pickles are too salty. Except for this part, everything else is pretty good.

A must visit place in Berlin this winter. I came with my friends to enjoy a coffee. The staff was very friendly. Just sit near bonfire and enjoy the sip of your cappuccino.

A very nice and pleasant cafe. It has a warm atmosphere inside Tier Garte. Prices are reasonable compared to Berlin. Burrata pizza and lasagna were very successful. We paid 150 EUR for 4 adults and 2 children, including 150 meals and beer. We liked everything we ate. If you happen to be there, be sure to stop by.

Four fireplaces keep the spacious cafe warm and create a pleasant atmosphere. The dishes are of good quality, the ingredients as well as the appearance and taste are excellent. The service couldn't be better in terms of handling and precision.

Good atmosphere. Delicious food. You should take the chocolate milk. To make the chocolate milk, you get a pack of chocolate that you put in the cup. The toilet is very clean.

Summering in Berlin quite doesn’t sum up until you sum here. It is a lovely big place with two restaurants here. The outdoor restaurant is very pretty by the lake, where you can take a boat ride too. They have good beer and a very nice variety of food options. It does get a lot busy in summers. The other restaurant is a semi-indoor setting but it is a prover restaurant service with wider food and drink options. I love the vibe of this places, everyone is happy and having a great time.

Had a lovely late lunch at this Cafe. Nice, warm and pleasant. Atmosphere is prestigious. The staff was polite and attentive. I had a truffle potato soup which was delightful, along some nice Chai.

Nice Christmas market with mulled wine

Were there today with the children. The service person gave the children the cocoa without comment. My son drank it and immediately burned his tongue with a blister. When I pointed out that a warning and perhaps a different levy would have been nice, they said it wasn't their problem and they couldn't do anything.

Unfortunately the cod was too dry and the bacon was forgotten otherwise it was cozy. The toilets are poorly signposted and difficult to reach for people with walking difficulties, but are otherwise clean and attractive. The Kaiserschmarren was great

The evening was great! And especially the winter market and the delicious mulled wine. We'd love to come back. And thank you for the great hospitality.
