Birds flying everywhere over kitchen and food... but if you dont mind bird poo everywhere then u can enjoy the basic food

We were there yesterday (my 9-year-old son and I) and I thought the food would be good. You want something special for that day, of course. Well, my son had schnitzel with fries and I had fricassee with rice. We didn't finish either 😔 And that's pretty sad for the price. The fricassee didn't taste very good, very bland, and that typical fricassee flavor was missing. My son's schnitzel was dry and much too brown...he felt like he was eating a piece of chewing gum. The fries weren't tasty either! We paid with two drinks. Almost €35! Never again.

Breakfast at the zoo isn't exactly cheap, but since drinks are included, it's still good value for money! I really enjoy having breakfast there!

A cozy place to start your zoo visit with a varied breakfast. €22.90 for adults (discount with annual passes), including hot drinks and a freshly squeezed juice, is great value. Children up to a certain age pay half price. We come regularly!

Since the hotel breakfast was too expensive for us, we looked for alternatives during our visit to Berlin. We found what we were looking for at the Waldschänke. A visit to the zoo was planned anyway, so we were able to start the day with a delicious and hearty breakfast at the Waldschänke in the zoo. Great atmosphere and very friendly and attentive service. We will be back.

Simple buffet, nothing special. Unfortunately, the scrambled eggs were so salty that they were inedible and dry. For the price of €23 per person, very simple.

The food and service were very good and there were enough seats. However, at lunchtime you have to plan a waiting time until your turn.

The brunch from 9 a.m. is, in addition to the usual offerings, highly recommended and an ideal refreshment for the day at the zoo. Rich and tasty offering from cold, warm, vegetarian and non-vegetarian to delicious donuts. The freshly squeezed orange juice rounds the whole thing off perfectly. For brunch, a reservation via the homepage is recommended, especially on weekends. Not to be forgotten and particularly important are the absolutely friendly, helpful and attentive employees. Nothing was missing and you felt like you were in good hands. A 5* keep it up 👍

As annual ticket holders, we already know the Waldschänke well. Thanks to the “2 for 1” offer, we also got to know the breakfast buffet. We were very pleasantly surprised. There was a rich and high-quality selection of cold and warm dishes, fruit salad and, and and... The service at the buffet was attentive. What's particularly nice is that the Waldschänke isn't as crowded early in the morning as it is later in the day. You can enjoy it in peace and quiet. We'd love to come back for breakfast.

Beautiful restaurant inside the Berlin Zoo with extremely friendly staff. This location is kids and family friendly with changing rooms and baby chairs and even a baby food station. Will definitely come back again!

Quality and selection very good. Scrambled eggs could have been a little warmer. Choice of sausage and cheese is a bit limited - but sufficient. Sweet particles really excellent. Juice and coffee great. Staff extremely friendly :-)

Rather by chance, we saw the two-for-one breakfast buffet offer on the Berlin Zoo's homepage... Just give it a try, we thought, and we were thrilled. After a friendly welcome, we were pampered and inspired by the extensive offerings. Everything is super fresh, as we are used to from Marché. We will certainly come back soon 😃

The selection is limited but tasty. Egg dishes, warm dishes and also great sweet little things can be found in the buffet. The guest room is small and cozy, the volume naturally increases with larger groups, and in summer there is even more space with the option of using the two terraces.

A very extensive and varied selection of hot and cold dishes. The salad bowl could definitely be smaller; perhaps some spreadable sausage, such as tea sausage or liver sausage, could be added to the buffet. The special offer for 2 people for this price is great, but unfortunately only until March 31, 2025.

Negative: There is no clear direction for the guests, which leads to confusion and jostling! Three types of sliced ​​cheese from the supermarket. No soft cheese, no cream cheese, or other types of cheese. No chocolate spread, three types of standard jam. No liver sausage or Mettwurst. I think the price is steep.

We paid 40th for two complete menus with drinks, it's really not excessive given the location. Pleasant place, large wooden tables with a view of the park, and incidentally, it was really good... Thanks to the extremely welcoming staff.

We went to the zoo on New Year's morning and had a delicious breakfast in the Waldschänke. The employees were super nice, the buffet was good and the food was delicious. There were hot and cold dishes. Rolls, cutouts, potatoes, champions, scrambled and fried eggs, pancakes and much more. Hot drinks are included in the price. There is also a delicious freshly squeezed orange juice per person. This was definitely not our last visit! Thank you!

Really great for a restaurant in the zoo. A lot of fried dishes, but really good to eat. Unfortunately the cashiers were inattentive. The ambience inside was ok. Prices, especially for the drinks and the ice cream, are more than reasonable. But also in the middle of the zoo.

So I was at the same breakfast in Leipzig Zoo and was thrilled. Zoo Berlin was disappointing. Drinks like water were not free. The choice of food was small. There was only one type of sliced ​​cheese as a topping. No bread just wheat rolls. The butter was expired. There was loose tea but no tea strainers. You could only put this in your cup. The service opened the hot dishes with tongs, no separate ones for meat and vegetarian until I pointed it out. There were fresh pretzels. No selection of cornflakes, yogurt, etc. For the price, you can prepare a much better breakfast at home. So not again in zoo berlin. Unfortunately disappointing and a waste of money. I wasn't surprised that it was almost empty.

It was beautiful, but it could have been decorated a little more for Christmas. The brunch selection was ok. You would have wished for little things like that. So the selection could have been a little more. Price ratio is totally fine! Perhaps a negative thing to mention was that some things were not included. That wasn't so easy to see. We had brunch on Christmas day which cost just under €20 each. It was all you can eat and definitely filled us up for the day! Coffee was great and I had the pancakes, bread roll and pretzel. All which were fresh l, warm and delicious! My husband had a few of the meat options and said they were delicious too.

Was something special. There was a glass of sparkling wine and mulled wine to go. The buffet was good, hot drinks were included. Everything is great for EUR 24.90! Of course, entry to the zoo has to be paid extra.

The breakfast is great, especially with children. There are warm (pancakes, various eggs, bacon, potatoes, ...) and cold dishes (cereals, fruit, rolls) and there is a very large selection, especially in the area of ​​pastries and pastries. We like to come with children, especially early around 9 a.m. it's not too crowded and both times so far have been great memories for everyone.

I've had an annual pass for years. The breakfast buffet is definitely recommended, even if other locations offer comparatively more choice than the Waldschänke. It can also be seen as a brunch offer, as there are also many warm meals. The atmosphere is great, right next to the brown bear enclosure. These animals are particularly active early in the morning and like to jump into the water to swim. What needs to be improved organizationally: We made a reservation for breakfast at 10:30 a.m., but the buffet was already closed at 11:00 a.m. That's not enough time to have breakfast in peace. Either you stop accepting reservations at 10:30 a.m. or at least keep it open until 11:30 a.m. / 12 p.m. so you get something out of it.

The four of us had reserved a table for brunch at 10 a.m. Tables and chairs outside were still partly wet from being hosed down in the morning. It would be desirable if this were done in good time so that everything is clean and dry when it is opened. The buffet was already empty at 10 in some places. The fried eggs were so dried out that they no longer tasted good at all. Unfortunately, freshly squeezed orange juice was no longer available to everyone. Overall quite disappointing. We visited the Waldschänke on a Monday morning, there is little going on in the zoo, the animals are relaxed and moving around. The breakfast buffet is nicely arranged and delicious. Particularly nice: coffee and tea.

Some unfriendly employees. Only two types of rolls and they are relatively hard (problems cutting them with a knife). Lots of tomatoes lying around as decoration; It would be nicer if you could eat them too. A drinks machine was broken. Buffet is an inappropriate term because you could only partially help yourself at the counter. A lot of food had to be opened at the counter and the service was extremely unfriendly.

The Walschänke has a nice atmosphere and a good location in the middle of the zoo. Unfortunately, the food is more like a canteen and the quality could be better. Really bad service. We were not properly informed about the contents of the sauces and the chef at the checkout didn't really listen to us either. We were given the wrong food and were told in an unfriendly manner that we should just eat it. Bad rice. Only frozen goods are simply bad and then you pay over €30 for them. The children had a hungry day today, so we had to get a little something to eat. The Waldschänke only serves fried or fried foods, so we opted for fries (€4.90). The processing is also not so successful, you have to stand in a long queue, regardless of what you want and how empty it is in front of the desired food outlet. (We didn't understand that and were immediately scolded.) As a result, the queue is very long and you stand between the tables where people are eating. All the free tables were dirty and full of used dishes. Sure, it's a self-service restaurant, but perhaps signs would make sense, as it doesn't seem to be self-explanatory that people have to take care of clearing up after eating. Especially since an employee eventually cleared everything away.

For a place to eat on the grounds of a zoo, it's pretty good. I expected even less. I was with my son and husband. Everyone liked it. I really liked the soup. We paid no more than 40 € for everything, I don’t remember the exact price. But everyone was full. The choice of food is not small.

We were very disappointed with the breakfast buffet. For €19.90 per person (including the children, 7 and 9 years old), the selection was pretty poor and unfortunately the staff wasn't very friendly either. We won't repeat it. I can't recommend any dish, but I had to choose it for the recession.

Rather bad experience regarding the breakfast. For 20€/person there wasn't even cream cheese (only butter as a spread), very little choice and the staff wasn't helpful at all, they were rather annoyed when you asked something.

We ate there for the breakfast buffet on Easter Sunday. We have never been greeted so unfriendly by the Waldschänke employee. It wasn't even decorated for Easter, very disappointing. The food isn't varied either - it's always the same at the buffet. I expect more from Mövenpick.

The location in the park is ideal and allows you to pose on the terrace in a nice setting. Where it gets complicated is the food... The ultra-cooked meat, the dry and unbreakable salmon, the cardboard fries welcome to the canteen. The children haven't eaten anything, luckily there is ice cream.

Breakfast there is great! During the week you can eat your fill at the breakfast buffet for €17.90 (tip: save another 10% with an annual pass!). All hot drinks and apple juice/orange juice are included. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, rolls, cold cuts, salmon, muffins, soup, yogurt, salads... Really delicious! And the staff is super nice :)

Food is decent and there is some variety other than usual sausage and fries, but it is a bit expensive. The inside sitting area is quite cramped as bulky tables and chairs are placed too close to each other. Especially the difficulty you experience while trying to move around with a buggy makes me think that this place was not well-designed for kid friendliness.

Katastrophe zur Mittagszeit. Man steht bis draußen an und wenn man endlich Essen hat, steht man an der Kasse an. Dazu kommt, dass es nur eine kleine Menge an Plätzen gibt, wenn es kalt ist steht man da schlimmsten Falls auch an. Da muss sich der Zoo was überlegen. Sowohl die Waldschänke als auch der Pavillon ist mit langen Wartezeiten verbunden. Wenn man dann alleine mit Kleinkind ist, ist das eine reine Qual. Da möchte ich gerne die Planer vom Zoo mal hierher einladen das gleiche durchzumachen.

Besucht man den Zoo, kriegt man natürlich auch Mal Hunger. Jedenfalls ging es uns so. Die Waldschänke bot sich da als willkommene Raststätte an. Das Ambiente ist dem Wildnis-Touch des Parks angepasst und wirkt gemütlich. Essen ist zur Selbstabholung bereit - bestellt wird am Tresen. Bezahlen an der Kasse und ab zum Tisch. Hat etwas Kantinen-Charakter. Dafür ist was auf den Teller kommt, echt lecker. Preislich liegt alles im normalen Bereich. Ideal also, um mit seinen Familien eine kurze Pause vom Tiere bestaunen zu machen.

Aufgrund der Jahreskarte schon mehrmals dort gewesen. Immer das?K7ndermenü und Pommes. Anderes sieht lecker aus, ist uns zu teuer. Kinderfreundlichkeit ist super, Überraschungsgeschenke zum Ausmalen sind beliebt. Das Personal ist stets freundlich und hilfsbereit. Alles sauber und nett rustikal eingerichtet.

Die Waldschänke ist Recht teuer und das Essen ist durchschnittlich gut. Im Restaurant fliegen kleine vögel und picken die Reste vom Boden was besonders für Kinder ein tolles Erlebnis ist .

Wir waren schon öfters hier. Für ein Frühstück, mit anschließendem Zoo Besuch, immer wieder eine gute Idee. Das Frühstück ist 👍 und das Personal sehr freundlich 😊 . Leider steigert sich die Lautstärke im Restaurant ab 11.00 Uhr doch erheblich.

Wir vergessen immer wieder wie schlecht doch das Essen hier ist. Extrem teuer und dafür extrem schlecht.

Wir waren zu einem Firmenevent dort. Ein sehr gelungener Abend mit toller Vorbereitung. Es wurde auf alle unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Das Personal war wirklich sehr freundlich und hat uns gut versorgt :) Unsere Kollegen waren alle begeistert. Klare Empfehlung für eine ganz besondere Location mitten im Zoo!
