The Social Hub Restaurant & Bar Berlin in Berlin

We came here on a Saturday at 6pm for drinks. There were only a few customers. We ordered 3 drinks and received 2 of them after 25 minutes; 5 minutes later, the 3rd one as declared as unavailable. We ordered some appetizers, which were good, but also took forever. A bit confused about the speed.

Excellent setting, top service, delicious and plentiful food. Excellent value for money!

Very special design. To me it seems cold and simple. Some of the employees hardly speak any German.

As we stayed in the same hotel, we thought to grab breakfast here. The menu, which the restaurant has on the google maps is not valid, they had only 3 options. We waited for 30 minutes for our very disappointing breakfast, as it was bland and fat (eggs with sausages). It felt like eggs were burned in the same fat from the sausages, so we could not finish although it was very small portion. As we were very short on time, we would’ve appreciated the notice before ordering that the wait time can be long. Instead we had to come up every 10 minutes to the bar and ask when our order is arriving. Overall very disappointing experience.

5 Stars for the double espresso in aveit here every morning. International staff, friendly as should be. Berlin atmosphere as its best!

Disgusting service. Payment via Google Pay did not work, I was able to pay by card, but the manager and waiter yelled at me in return. I'm never coming back here.

I definitely do not recommend it, it is not worth your money. Everything is dusty, the sound of the train won't let you sleep, it's offered with opportunities unless you have to, it's completely unnecessary, the staff is friendly.

Recession only applies to the food/bar in the Social Hub. Some quite loud music, some quiet areas. You can also go here with a larger group. Happy hour until 7 p.m. You have to order at the bar whether you're in line or not, happy hour ends at 7 p.m. Food must also be ordered directly at the bar. The service was extremely unfriendly as if it was a burden to serve customers. She also said that my food would be brought to the table, which was not the case. So I waited for ages and then asked...food was good so far.

Bitter cappuccinos, burnt fries and bad service

Incompetent, arrogant and incapable employees. Never had such terrible service before. Employees had the IQ of a paving stone, no one here has general social skills (a 5 year old child can probably do better). Cashier was more concerned with his own reflection than with his job and clearly thought it was a crime punishable by death that we even dared to set foot in the restaurant.

this restaurant is Understaffed, it is self service and the food was disgusting. we ordered burgers and fries. the chicken burger was burned and was smelling horrible. he fries the same the taste was not great. The beef burgers were small and not great. most things on the menu they didn't have it. When we returned the chicken burger she didn't know what to do, not professional at all.

Do not trust this place if you have ANY allergies or intolerances. I ordered a beef burger. The paper menu at the counter said that the beef burger had Beef, Cheese, Lettuce, Pickles, Ketchup, and Mustard. I have a bunch of serious allergies, and I told the person at the counter this. So I ordered the beef burger without Pickles, without Ketchup, and without Mustard. When I received my burger, I found that it had a slice of tomato, and slices of onion in it. These things were not in the paper menu I ordered from, and I am allergic to. Apparently the menu at the counter does NOT show all the ingredients put into the burger, only the menu on the website has all the ingredients… This was mildly annoying, but the chef agreed to remake the burger for me, as I explained that I am allergic to the onion and tomato as well. 10 minutes later I receive a new burger. When I get back to my room and open up the box, I find that the new burger not only still has onion slices on it, but has had the pickles added back in.

Nice location, but very slow service, inefficient and not informed. They served alcohol free beers without informing you. I guess they don’t even know what they serve. Not recommendable.

Waited 40 min for a salad in an empty place. Salad turned out not to be what the waiter said it was. Well deserved 1-star review.

Bestimmt nicht der schnellste und beste Service. Aber Herzlich, freundlich, professionell und gehen sofort auf Kritik ein. Einrichtung ist stylish. Alles jung aufgezogen. Wenn man Zeit hat und entspannt is passt alles. Englisch is hier erforderlich…

The food was extremely mediocre! Absolutely not worth the price. There wasn’t much to order from. We ordered burgers, hotdog and flatbread (they forgot to bring the humus with it). The only good thing about the food were the chips. The rest was pretty much tasteless . The service was non existent. McDonald’s would have been a better choice .. Im Vorbeigehen immer gut um schnell was zu essen . Vorsicht vor El Pollo Diabolo - dem schrecklichen Todeshühnchen im Eingangsbereich - er steht dort in leibhaftiger Größe. :-)

+ gute Lage - Service —> auf dem Balkon neben uns wurde lautstark gefeiert. Trotz Anruf bei der Rezeption, mussten wir die Party selbst auflösen. Bett hat 3 Tage lang gequietscht - von Tag zu Tag wurde uns gesagt, der Techniker kümmert sich…Insgesamt wurde die wichtigste Fragen vergessen:“ Wie war euer Aufenthalt?“ Hätten gerne persönlich Feedback gegeben. - Matratzen hart wie Stein Fazit: Ich würde hier nicht mehr übernachten, da es mehr Jugendherberge statt hotel ist. Btw die 4* kann ich nicht verstehen 😅. Für peoples von 20-25 eher geeignet, aber dann wohl zu teuer 🤷🏻‍♀️

Todo acá es increíble! Mi estadía fue inolvidable. Antonio hizo que nos sintiéramos muy cómodos y fue muy atento todo el tiempo.

Ich war dort um über Too good to go Lebensmittel vom Frühstücksbuffet abzuholen. Daher kann ich nicht viel zum Hotel oder Service sagen. Das Ambiente haut einen förmlich um, positiv als auch negativ. Was ich aber mit Sicherheit sagen kann ist - holt euch keinesfalls die Überraschungstüten. Für 4,50€ hätte ich deutlich mehr sogar frisch im Supermarkt einkaufen können, als das was geboten wurde. 1 halbrohes Semmelbrötchen, 1 Kürbisbrötchen, 5 Scheiben versch. Wurst, 1 Käsescheibe, kleines Stück Frischkäse und 5 Gurkenscheiben - und sehr wahrscheinlich nicht mal Bio. Mir ist bewusst, dass es Überreste sein sollen, aber wenn ich am Ende des Tages mehr zahle für 2nd Hand Lebensmittel als für Frisches - dann ist es mir lieber Sie stornieren die Bestellung gleich. Ich frage mich nur ernsthaft, worauf das Hotel seinen Fokus legen will, wenn es scheinbar an den Basics schon scheitert. Wirklich schade.

Cosy place where you feel confortable quickly. Welcoming young staff, they’re are very concerned about the well being of their customers, which we really appreciated. They’re also very inclusive.

Panino e patate molto buoni. Ambiente meravigliosamente giovanile moderno e spazioso. Il personale è cordialissimo e parla minimo due lingue. Consiglio anche per una semplice chiacchierata.

Great place to eat and chill. It is inside the hotel and it is very convenient. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Cocktails are very tasty! The prices are quite high comparing with other restaurants. The space was clean and you have cosy tables to enjoy your meal. It is a relaxed environment

Hotel alternativo con personale molto giovane. Tutti disponibilissimi e sempre con il sorriso. A due passi da Alexander platz e vicinissimo a tutte le fermate (bus/treno/metropolitana). Colazione a buffet abbondante e macchinetta con ottimo cappuccino.

Service was good however the food wasn’t good at all. The yellow curry was supposed to be seitan and they brought tofu without even asking and they also forgot the flat bread… Wouldn’t recommend coming here if you want good food.

Berliner Restaurant angeschlossen an einem dazu gehörigen Hotel. Das Lokal macht auf jung, hip, Retro und innovativ in der Deko, aber der Cocktail war einer der schlechtesten meines Lebens (zu stark und zu unspektakulär) und bei der Bedienung hoffe ich, dass sie noch lebt. Gesehen habe ich sie schon lange nicht mehr. Dafür liegen Dutzende von Scherben von den Leuten vor uns auf dem Boden. Kannst du alles vergessen hier. P.S. Das Hotel ist echt gut.

Bear in mind I am reviewing their breakfast service. Overall service is pretty good - the guy (the one and only working on the floor) was a friendly chap - introduced us to the spread and also how it works. The food - for the price stated (15 Euros per person, staying in the hotel) was like hostel food. The eggs was fresh but not warm; neither were the meatballs. Limited collection of teas and the pastries + breads were cold. Usually for normal hotel spreads there are a wide collection of jams; here was just 3. It is OK as a breakfast but not as a ‘German experience’ breakfast as I experienced in normal hotels. I recommended to take a 15-20 mins subway ride (the subway entrance is right across from the hotel) to some nice cafes which serve wonderful breakfast/ brunch.

Customer service on a rather low level. Otherwise ok.

A hipsterish atmosphere is not sufficient to justify high prices, sufficient products and a low level of service. It is to me beyond understanding how they would not have a menu for drinks, how they would not tell you the price ("I don't know") in advance, or they managed to charge you even more than what they told you at the moment of paying the tab. The coffee, however really beyond the worst expectations. Honestly I was tempted to send it back. I won't come back, despite the place looks really nice.

Schönes Hotel mit Restaurant. Sehr freundliche Bedienungen. Auswahl an Hauptgerichten könnte mehr sein. Auch die Portionen könnten etwas größer sein. Sonst war das Essen sehr lecker und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Preise sind etwas gehoben aber noch ok. Gerne wieder 🤗😊

Das Frühstücksbuffet war gerade so in Ordnung. Hübsch dekoriert, aber es fehlten: Gekochte Eier, Bacon, normales Brot, Kakao, Obst, Toast, Kaffeelöffel, große Tassen. Nur vier Sorten Tee. Die Aufschnittauswahl Bestand aus günstiger Supermarktware. Von einem Frühstück für 13 Euro hatte ich mehr erwartet; und es wäre auch okay, wenn es 15 kosten würde und dafür nicht so viel essentielles fehlen würde.

I have been to The Commons Berlin three times in the last two weeks. On my first time there I had a free drink coupon, because I was staying at the Hotel. As soon as I gave it to the waiter, he looked to it with a judging face and complained that these free drink coupons are a pain to be added to the system. I ordered my food, which is in fact very good, and it came really fast. When I asked to pay, the waiter did not give me a 20% discount he was supposed to, due to my long stay at the Hotel. On the second time, who helped me was a different waiter and fortunately I had zero problems. The food once more was fantastic! Ans this time I did not even have to ask for the discount, the waiter noticed the hotel key on my hand and gave the 20% off without even asking anything. On the third time, yesterday evening, I went there for the happy hour. The waiter was the same one who helped me on the first visit. My husband and I ordered two drinks each (due to the 2x1 offer during the happy hour time). When I asked for the check, I showed the key to the waiter and asked for the discount. He apparently ignored it, and also charged the wrong drinks. I realized right after I had payed for them, when I mentioned to the guy that he had charged it wrongly. His reply was: "why?!", and gave me the receipt. I showed that the price of one of the drinks was wrong, and he told me that he would talk to his boss. Also, the 20% discount had not be given. The manager arrived and sorted everything out, charging for the correct drinks and also giving the 20% discount. She even told me that I did not need to ask for the discount, showing the key is enough. I then made it clear that I have done so, and the waiter completely ignored it (for the second time, since he has done the same on my first visit). The vibe of the restaurant is super nice, as well as the food, but this specific waiter needs to be trained asap. He needs to learn to be more polite to the clients, and also to follow the rules of the house regarding the discount for the long-term stayers of the Hotel. The prices are also high when compared to other restaurants in Berlin, but I guess this is justified by the fact that the restaurant is located at the Student Hotel.

Love the place. Food is great (the lunch specials are amazing), WiFi works like a charm and they have a lot of space for co-working. Can only recommend!

Уютный современный, стильный ресторан. Хороша кухня, меню довольно лаконичное на современные манер, довольно много веганских позиций, отдельное барное меню. Персонал дружелюбный, внимательный и оперативно обслуживает. Тут любят проводить время местные жители разных возрастов, иногда играет живая музыка. Бесплатный быстрый WiFi Мне тут понравилось.

Happy hour scam during events The deal is pay one get two. With the first drink they provide a voucher for the second one. When we wanted to get the second drink, they suddenly don‘t have the beer anymore. They offer to change the beer type but the other type is not included in the happy hour deal (what is not communicated) and we had to pay for that as well

Went for lunch here in early October on my visit to Berlin and superb. Great location with clean bright decor and very good service with friendly staff. Couldn't fault it... Had the vegan burger and it was delish!

War heute mit zwei Kollegen zum Mittagessen in diesem vor kurzem neu eröffneten Restaurant. Der erste Eindruck: schicke, moderne Einrichtung und zuvorkommende (leider nur englischsprachige) Bedienung. Das Essen war frisch zubereitet und insgesamt sehr gut. Allerdings sind die Preise recht hoch: 6 Euro für eine Suppe, 15 € für einen Burger mit Pommes und 8,50 € (plus 2€ für Bacon und Ei) für ein Sandwich. Besonders beim Sandwich (nur eine Scheibe Brot ohne Beilagensalat oder ähnliches) stimmt das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis überhaupt nicht. Kartenzahlung ist möglich.

Great staff and delicious food.

So many options! I decided to go for “The Beef” Burger and it was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. 2 Full sized onion rings a perfectly grilled Patty, perfect amount of lettuce and tomatoes and crispy cooked slices of bacon. And if you’re feeling saucy they have over 50 sauces you can choose from. Definitely recommend this restaurant.

We were at the Commons Berlin with a group of 10 colleagues from The Netherlands and we have very much enjoyed it. The ambiance was very nice, very friendly staff and the food was great! When we are back in Berlin we would certainly go back here. The sparreribs and burgers we amazing! We live in The Hague where there is also a The Commons restaurant and we will go there as well very soon!

Great restaurant with the friendliest service in the whole Berlin. Cool, young, vibe and not expensive. Great also for business meetings, work offsites or just amazing cocktails.

Great place! Definitely one of my favourite restaurant in Berlin. Great rotisserie chicken and I had an amazing eggs royale for brunch. Professional and friendly staff. The restaurant design makes it a very comfortable place!

I had dinner here last night and I was very impressed. The ribs and roasted chicken are delicious. Nice cocktails too. And the cheescake a must!
