BUTTER in Berlin

When girls get together, things usually go really well. But if they find a place with a great atmosphere, it really boosts their mood. Then, of course, the food has to be delicious, and the service takes care of the rest for a perfect day... We just had that experience at Café Butter. It was unforgettable. Every one of us was more than satisfied with our breakfast, and your service was outstanding. Thank you so much! ❤️

Interesting brunch options catering for vegans as well as meat eaters, coffee was good.

After initially thinking, "Let's just look around a bit longer," we thankfully ended up at "Butter" today and should have trusted our gut feeling: we weren't disappointed! :) A very tasty and fresh breakfast, super friendly and professional staff with smiles, and a cozy atmosphere! An absolute recommendation for anyone who wants to enjoy good food and a beautiful view while having a relaxed conversation! Thank you!

A lovely sidewalk café in a beautiful old building. It has a special charm. The staff is polite, and the breakfast buffet is delicious and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

Overpriced and boring shakshouka, 14 euros and it comes with just too small slices of bread. The only thing going for this place is the cute location and sunny terrace.

I highly recommend Butter, I’ve been here for breakfast twice and it was excellent both times. Their menu is great with so many options (the hard part is making a choice) and everything was very good. Will definitely be visiting again when I go back to Berlin!

Here we tried flat white coffee , avocado toast (with scrambled egg) and early grey tea. The toast is really tasty and fresh served with side salads which are marinated with lemon juice and pomegranates( tasty 🤤) the tea is nice and smells intensive( quality) . I am not sure about the coffee beans ( can be Colombian but not mild) . The staff is nice and helping. The place is spacious inside and outside. Recommended!

I visited a friend in Berlin and had breakfast there with a friend of his – and were quite disappointed. We arrived and were initially ignored and had to ask for someone to come over to us for each step of the ordering process or to pay. Furthermore, the atmosphere around us was such that we always felt unwanted and not taken seriously. The highlight was being "shooed away" by asking if we wanted to pay, even though no one had asked – they were in a hurry when it came to money... And the style of the "Butter" brand (uniformity of the dishes and glasses, the way the glasses are covered to protect against wasps, etc.) might also be worth re-examining... The food was only mediocre, and the price wasn't justified... Will be our first and last visit there.

We tried their Eggs Benedict and sunny side up - tasted good, but the quantity was smaller than other cafes, sunny side had a toast with it of not so great quality and the salad dressing was to sour to eat

The breakfast was very, very delicious; six of us ate a variety of dishes. The service was very friendly and attentive. We can only recommend it. Although it was very warm, we ate under the umbrellas in a very shady and airy environment.

The price and quantity ratio is not acceptabel. It is very very expensive for what you get. The prices are absurd but the food was tasty.

We stopped here after work for a quick evening snack. It was delicious, and the atmosphere outside was cozy in the sunshine. Highly recommended, and the price is reasonable.

The Butter Cafe is a great option to have bruch or breakfast. They serve a vast amount of dishes for a delicious brunch till 12:30 on the weekends. Since the place has plenty of seats it is not always that difficult to find a table. Service is fast and very friendly. The place is very beautiful! In summer you can sit outside and enjoy the great atmosphere of Prenzlauer Berg. For breakfast I tried the shakshuka, which was very tasty! You get it with some delicious bread. I can also recommend trying the pancakes as well as the lemonades. All very tasty! What I also loved about this place were the toilets! They were so beautiful! When visiting them you will know what I’m talking about. Would love to be back here any time!

Well-run cafe with a large breakfast selection. The food is excellent, and the staff is friendly and very attentive. There are enough staff on hand to ensure there are no waits. We'll be happy to come back.

The food was amazing! Could be a little more salty and seasoned in my taste but that is just personal preference, overall really good. We had matcha latte which wasn’t the best hence the 4 star food review. But service was amazing and location wonderful. Really pretty building and outdoor seating. Recommend!!

A great location for a quiet breakfast. We were there with our two children and enjoyed being served attentively and yet not intrusively harassed at Easter. It's great that there are also a lot of vegan dishes here. We'll definitely see each other again.

The only small negative point: After the drinks came, it took almost half an hour for the food to arrive. By then we were really hungry. But otherwise everything was great – nice service, cozy location and as I said: the food was definitely worth it. We'd love to come back

Very great spot for breakfast/brunch. Great food with a good selection. Very friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. The terrace is brilliant when the weather is good. Highly recommended. One point deducted because the toilet is unfortunately not barrier-free and therefore not accessible to everyone.

Had breakfast with a friend today on the recommendation of a colleague. Small round table by the window with enough space for food and drinks. It quickly became clear what we were ordering. Egg Benedict with ham and the friend had scrambled eggs. We shared pancakes with apricots and goat cheese. Ooooh, that was delicious!!! Great bread, the ham was so crispy that you could just pick up the strips. Small downside: I hate raw onions and I didn't realize that these were included with Egg B., but I was able to sort them out quite well and give them to my friend. The pancakes with apricots were a poem! Finally, a cortado for everyone with a light foam. All in all: a great breakfast and nice, quick service. Only the lady behind the counter was a bit snippy and the prices weren't cheap either. But if the breakfast is great, I'm happy to accept it. The next reservation with the next friend in 2 weeks is a sign!! Update for March 22nd and the 2nd breakfast visit: Ordered Egg Benedict with ham again because I was SOOO excited about it 2 weeks ago... this time the ham was terribly limp and I was very disappointed! Unfortunately I forgot that there were raw onions on breakfast and didn't cancel my order :-( There was no toilet paper in the toilet at (10:00 a.m.!) and my comment was commented on quite unkindly (again by the lady behind the counter). Otherwise very nice service, like the first time :-)

We sat on the terrace on a sunny Sunday, and it was super cute. On our next visit, the terrace was closed, probably because it wasn’t as warm. The food is great, just look at the beautiful double egg on a bacon pancake! Lovely! The service was also excellent: super polite and attentive to details. They even checked if we got the extra egg we ordered when another waiter served our food. We haven’t been inside yet, but we’ll definitely be back to explore!

Today, Saturday, I was at “Café Butter” with two friends and was immediately impressed by how cozy and pleasantly warm it was in the dining room. The staff was super friendly and helpful, we didn't have a reservation and still had a nice table. The breakfast was very tasty and well put together. Coffee and tea were also very good. I would like to go here again. And I'm a Berliner, not a tourist.

A very nice rustic restaurant in a good location with a cozy, old Berlin atmosphere. The menu has a very tasty, diverse selection to suit many diets. The prices are correspondingly high, but the quality of the food is really good. Unfortunately, the restaurant has two major limitations: it is not exactly barrier-free and it is not suitable for working due to the lack of WiFi. But definitely for other occasions!

Nice breakfast, I had blueberry pancakes and my husband had English breakfast. Both parts were delicious. The pictures have become blurry because of the sun/parasol. The service was friendly and it was nice to sit outside.

Unfortunately, the BUTTER fell a little short of my expectations. Because it looks really great from the outside in the evening and according to the reviews you can also enjoy it inside. Maybe it was due to expectations, because we were greeted very nicely and Berlin like relaxed. We love. The cocoa was definitely warming, even in these temperatures. The food was delicious and satisfied my need for eggs Benedict. Everything was very solid and definitely recommended, although the inside was less comfortable than I had hoped.

The staff is very nice and the food tastes great! Unfortunately, it was very loud on my last two visits, but the store was also full.

How much of the Avocado Eggs Benedict can you eat before you burst? 😉 Wow, that was delicious, fair prices for great food, but it was a bit noisy because the place was very full. Very friendly staff, conveniently located, god, what more could you want.

It was a little discovery for me, as I usually only go for breakfast in Schöneberg. Saturday, 12:00, spontaneously without a reservation, we spontaneously got a table for two. A lovingly furnished café where it was just fun to linger. The service is friendly, the menu varied. As a vegan, I also found what I was looking for. The portions are sufficient. Everything was freshly prepared and looked attractively presented. The price/performance ratio corresponds to Berlin standards. Also suitable for wheelchair users. Easy to reach by tram or bike. We'll definitely be back.

Came for brunch with family and its was very nice, but also great place to just stop for a coffee and cake. Good food and the french toast I had was delicious, the place is also sweet and the staff was very kind, no complaints there.

It’s a cute spot for a catch up with a friend. The restaurant is well spaced out , service is friendly and the food is alright for the price. They’re very experimental with their seasonal menu, specifically pumpkin, which is not a bad thing but definitely depends on your taste. Would love to come back here and try their breakfast menu.

Came towards the second half of the Sunday service and ordered brunch for 3. After some waiting time (understandably since it was quite busy) the food came. One out of three was wrong. Service pretended to care very little and correct order came after 10 minutes. In the meantime Tea was delivered lukewarm and freshly pressed orange juice is in fact regular orange juice with pulp. Overall quite pricey and small portions. Will not repeat.

Delicious food, unfortunately super slow and unreliable service. Very long waiting times between service and receiving the order. No questions asked if you wanted to order anything else. Unfortunately, the orders were forgotten and not delivered twice during the stay. Each time it resolved after waiting 30-60 minutes. Too bad.
