Wonderfully charming shop with delicious food. I just wish the fries were thin again. Still, 5/5 stars.

Chez Michel is always worth a trip to Kreuzberg. If you want to enjoy delicious, classic French bistro cuisine, this is the place to be! A gem in Berlin. I definitely recommend it!

A small french bistro that offers a small, but authentic menu. The Bouef bourguignon was flavorful, but I found the meat a bit tougher than what it should be. The Hüftsteak (Sirloin) was cooked properly, the flavor was tasty. Their portions are generous, you wont leave hungry. They have wine by the bottle and by glass. The service was excellent! Our waiter was friendly and spoke english, german and french. The price-performance is pretty good, if you like french bistros, I recommend it.

Sometimes you forget how good French cuisine is! German cuisine has many qualities that I love: dignified, rich, popular - filling in the winter. And asparagus in the spring. But then you meet the French - just a bit more refined, delicious, fragrant - you want warmth and red wine. That's how it is at Chez Michel - a French oasis in Kreuzberg in the middle of the kebab jungle. Reasonable prices and high quality. Had the bloodiest entre cote and a lemon tart that almost made me buy a one-way train ticket to Lyon or Nice. Thanks for the food, Chez Michel

Very tasty and tender steak, very friendly service and warm atmosphere. There was no place, but Michel did his best to find a place for us, although we had to leave before 8 pm, but this was not an issue for us. Recommended!

Price performance absolutely great. The chef stands at the open kitchen and conjures up the perfect steak fries. Small shop that is completely full even during the week. Outside in Kreuzberg - inside France.

Looked forward to the place because of the years it has existed and the recommendations I received, but it was really just an okay experience, and I was already expecting homestyle French cooking. The duck confit and tuna steak were not tender or juicy, and they lacked a bit of any flavor. The Burgundy wine pairing was also not strong, and the wine was not AOC, either. Expensive for the food.

Seldom eaten so good, tasty and authentically French! The selection of French restaurants in Berlin isn't huge, but you don't really need to go to one other than Chez Michel anyway. A simple menu with all the classics you could wish for and everything is prepared by the owner behind the counter. Both Michel and his staff are very friendly and courteous. Not only is the food perfect, but the ambience is also wonderful! The walls of the classic French bistro are adorned with works of art by various German and French artists (mostly regular customers). All in all, you couldn't imagine a better French bistro and especially the escargots and homemade tarts are highly recommended!

Gastfreundlichkeit fängt schon beim Empfang an. Ich hatte relativ knapp vor unserem Besuch angerufen und auf Hinweis meiner Begleitung, die das Restaurant schon kannte, nach einem Platz "oben" gefragt. Der Chef am Telefon sagte, eigentlich sei alles voll, aber wir sollten einfach mal kommen und er würde dann sehen. Als wir dann eintrafen, waren durch eine No-Show doch 2 Plätze an einem der langen Tische "oben" frei, an denen man gemeinsam sitzt. "Wie beim Speed-Dasing" schmunzelte unsere Tischnachbarin, und natürlich ist man gleich mit allen im Gespräch über Empfehlungen fürs Essen. Wir hatten die Merguez und das Fischfilet auf Gemüse. Beides in reichlichen Portionen wie in einem einfachen Bistro auf dem Lande. Ehrlich, deftig, einfach, ohne Chichi. Also keine Haute-Cuisine-Ambitionen auch im Erscheinungsbild, dafür aber bezahlbar und nicht weniger köstlich. Dazu gab's einen frischen, sehr ordentlichen Bordeaux Blanc, und die Welt stimmt für einen Abend. Ich weiß, dass ich beim nächsten Berlinbesuch wiederkommen werde. Notfalls auch "unten" bei den etwas ungemütlichen kleinen Tischchen mit den Barhockern, aber oben hat man noch das Erlebnis einer großen Tischgesellschaft. Daher besser früh anrufen!

Not to miss in Berlin. Entrecôte was one of the best I’ve had. So was the chicken too. Very fair prices for a date or group dinner.

Good food and nice owner and staff, but they don't accept credit cards and we had to withdraw paying 5,50 euros charges. The bill made just on a paper was also questionable compared to what we ordered.

Simple menu. Food is excellent. Staff are great. Cute little spot. We came early to be sure of getting a table.

Very nice atmostphere, the food is amazing and the staff very friendly! I know this place since now a few years and the quality is always on top. If you feel like a french steak frites or good merguez, it is the place to go. Good food and big portions, I am very satisfied :) 5 stars!

Ich hatte schon sehr viel französisches Essen in Berlin. Und ich hatte bei Chez Michel die Moules Frites bestellt: bisher echt meine besten Moules Frites in Berlin (und ich lebe hier seit über 10 Jahren und hatte sie in Frankreich und unterschiedlichen französischen Restaurants in Berlin. Aber Chez Michel hatte bisher die besten Moules Frites! Die Weinempfehlung war auch top! Tolles Team :) Michel steht selbst vor Ort hinter der Theke und ist ein Schatz ❤️ gerne wieder!

Immer noch eine der sympathischsten Adressen in der Gegend. Steak Frites oder Moules, was anderes braucht man nicht. Dazu eine Karaffe des immer etwas zu warmen Wein. Schlichte Inneneinrichtung und aufmerksamer Service. Mittlerweile sind die Preise etwas angehoben, aber immer noch günstig.

Sehr lecker. Merguez mit Harissa und Pommes. Es war ein Traum.

Unsere Steaks waren außen völlig verbrannt und eine absolute Frechheit. Pommes völlig labberig und der Salat schwamm in einer süßen Sauce. Wirklich selten so schlecht gegessen. Dabei war der Service super und das Restaurant wirkte sehr nett. Sehr schade, aber absolute Warnung hier etwas zu essen was vom Grill kommt.

Trotz freundlichster Frage die Nutzung der Toilette verwehrt. So vergrault man den zukünftigen Kunden. Ganz schwach.

Très bien accueilli avec une serveuse très avenante et de très bon conseils. Étant en visite à Berlin, très bons plats français comme à la maison ! Un restaurant qu'on recommande si on veut manger français, on y retournera ! On avait l'impression de les connaître depuis longtemps tellement c'est un esprit familiale.

Après avoir attendu une heure en plus nous avions réservé à 20:00 pour finalement nous dire que nous devrions arriver à 21:00 pas très organisé ! MAIS La nourriture était excellente donc finalement ça a valu le coup ! Service rapide et bon rapport qualité prix 😋

Immer eine sichere Bank! Steak ist prima, Weine sind auch gut, kein Knaller, aber darauf erhebt das Bistro auch keinen Anspruch. Der Service ist etwas unbedarft und es kann sein, dass man öfter mal nachfragen muss, aber dafür extrem freundlich. Immer schön für einen Abend unter der Woche!

Kleines authentisches französisches Restaurant mit Flair. Am Boden geblieben mit ehrlicher Küche. Alle Gerichte waren sehr lecker! Besonders zu empfehlen: die Zitronen tarte ❤️👍

the food was mediocre (ready made vinaigrette, fries lacking crispiness and salt, the mushroom sauce seemed to have some artificial ingredient to make the sauce thicker) and the vibe we got from the people working there was super weird. seems to be a rather toxic working environment that I felt uncomfortable around.

The most authentic French food in town can be found at CHEZ MICHEL. They are proud of the fact that they serve quite large quantities, as well as the fact that they provide some extremely delicious dishes. If you are a big fan of meat like I am, you absolutely have to order their steak at least once. It's delicious! You can also place an order for Algerian Merguez if you like!

Les propriétaires ont réussi a reconstituer le cadre d un petit resto familial français. Rien ne manque : la toile cirée, le buffet des années 50, les peintures naïves et un peu salaces au mur. La cuisine est excellente, sortie du four de grand maman: un boudin excellent, un steak parfaitement cuit et goûteux, des pommes de terre bien graissées comme chez grand l’aman. Le pinot gris offre un bon rapport qualité prix. Le café fort est délicieux. On peut ne pas aimer la déco murale…

Jedenfalls ist dieses Feinschmeckerrestaurant ein gutes Beispiel dafür, daß gutes Essen nicht teuer sein muß...und es ist 100% Kreuzberg.

I really like this restaurant, but be sure to check your bill. I came with a party of 6 and we were charged €45 twice for our €4.50 bottles of water. The total sounded high so we went inside to clarify. Hopefully it was an accident, but the number was typed in twice so it’s a bit concerning.

Das war mal unser Lieblings-Restaurant, aber seit Corona ist der tolle Koch nicht mehr dort und seitdem ist die Qualität des Essens viel schlechter geworden. Die Bedienungen wechseln ständig und sprechen nur englisch. Schade, aber so schnell gehen wir da nicht mehr hin...

Einfach sehr gut französisch. Vorspeise Quiche und Schneken, Hauptspeise Pilzragout und Entenkeule, Nachtspeise Creme bruille und Zitronentarte. Dazu Rotwein Bourdeaux. Guter Preis, gute Atmosphäre.

Kreuzberg중심에서 너무 벗어나 있지도 않고 너무 붐비는 분위기에서 벗어나 여유롭게 식사하며 동네를 감상할 수 있는 곳이에요. Nettes Ambiente, guter Service, leckeres Essen, wie von Mama gekocht. Und ich mag den Chef!! Er ist einfach ein toller Mensch.
