Kimchi Princess in Berlin

When friends from Korea or foreigners come over and want to try Korean food, we come here. It gets crowded on weekends, so you might need to make a reservation. They grill pork belly, and the bulgogi is quite generous. If you order meat, they give you four side dishes, a bowl of rice per person, and a side of lettuce wraps. You can refill the lettuce wraps. It's delicious, but it's a bit pricey, so be aware! Soju and makgeolli are especially expensive. However, the seats right next to the window in the evening are a bit sore on the eyes because of the red neon sign. (That's why the photos are all red... haha) I recommend finding a different table in the evening. Many Koreans come here for the meat and drinks, so the restaurant can get quite noisy.

We were there with a group and found the food very tasty. However, it was a bit pricey. €20 for a bowl isn't cheap.

It's a place with fast service, delicious food, and a wide variety of options. It's quite popular, but the prices are reasonable. Unlike traditional BBQ, the waiters are also interested in the cooking.

Staff is fast and attentive 🙌🏼 The prices are so cheap with the amount of food your getting. You will smell like smoke and barbecue after so I recommend not bringing a coat.

Unfortunately, it was a huge disappointment. The dishes we tried, both snacks and main courses, were a vague imitation of Korean cuisine. Having recently been to Korea, I was able to make a comparison, which unfortunately led me to conclude that this restaurant's cuisine is not authentic. The staff is friendly, but the prices are absolutely too high.

Since I had booked in advance, we were seated right away with no waiting time. The food experience was excellent, a variety of meat dishes, each prepared with distinct flavors, which impressed both me and my guests. We all agreed it’s a place we would love to return to on another occasion. The service was also outstanding, in fact, I’d say it deserves six stars if that were possible.

A truly fantastic Korean restaurant on Skalitzer Straße! The food is delicious, freshly prepared, and authentic—you can immediately tell that great emphasis is placed on quality here. The atmosphere in the restaurant is lively and pleasant, perfect for a lovely evening with friends or as a couple. What's particularly convenient is that you can also eat here late at night, which isn't always the case in Berlin. The prices are a bit high, but they're absolutely justified for what you get. If you like Korean food or just want to try something new, this is the place for you—highly recommended!

I just had dinner with my family! The food and side dishes were all delicious~ The kimchi stew was especially great!! We ordered kimchi stew, dakgalbi (spicy stir-fried chicken), mul naengmyeon (cold noodles), samgyeopsal kimchi stir-fry, and japchae, and they were all delicious❤️ Since there were Koreans there, it was easy to order~ My 13-year-old son even ordered and drank the ssanghwatang (spicy stew)😅Thankfully, he said it was delicious~

We had a wonderful evening at Kimchi Princess and would like to share our experience. The ribs were simply delicious – tender and full of flavor. We were also very impressed with the bacon, perfectly prepared and delicious. The beef strips with rice were also a delight and rounded off our meal perfectly. We ordered beef bulgogi, kimchi pancake, makgeolli, and a bottle of strong soju with the red cap. There was something romantic about following a Korean tradition — enjoying pancake and makgeolli on a rainy day — right here in Berlin. The outdoor seating is spacious and well-covered, so you can still sit outside even when it rains. Sipping soju under the red lighting brought back such good memories of Korea. The staff were friendly, the food was delicious, and the overall vibe of the place was just perfect..

When you open the restroom door and there's an employee sitting there, who walks past you a few minutes later without washing their hands, you hope they're not working in the kitchen. When the beef is cut with scissors for roasting at the table, that doesn't indicate quality. Add to that the extremely loud noise, just from the chairs being moved. The drink prices are high. Why would I come back?

Price-performance ratio is not right

It is not just the best Korean restaurant in Berlin, but the best in all of Europe. It is similar to the kimchi stew I always had in Korea and it was so delicious. The owner and staff are also very kind and I highly recommend it. Please come here.

I submitted a catering request for 60 people at relatively short notice, which was answered promptly by the "Kimchi Princess" herself. Although I had never met her in person, the conversations felt like I was speaking with a long-time friend. I received patient and professional advice, and on the day of the funeral, the ordered food arrived on time. Three employees arrived and set everything up in a flash. The food was of very high quality and was very well received by the guests. At the end of this "funeral phase," my family and I went to eat at Kimchi Princess, and we were all delighted with the friendly, attentive service and the authentic, delicious food. I can wholeheartedly recommend Kimchi Princess.

A solid address for Korean BBQ in Berlin. Classics with good quality. Congratulations on your 16th anniversary. There are now many Korean BBQ restaurants in Berlin, but Kimchi Princess remains one of the first and still solid addresses for me. There's little to complain about in terms of taste and quality, and the kimchi in particular always impresses me. Not every restaurant manages to serve truly good, balanced fermented kimchi; this one definitely succeeds. The restaurant's prices are a bit higher in some areas, but not consistently; some dishes are absolutely fair. The service was friendly, attentive, and well-organized. The ambiance is simple but authentic. The option to sit outside is particularly nice, ideal for a relaxed evening with friends. Korean BBQ is known to be most fun in a group: grilling, laughing, eating, and drinking together is an all-round successful experience. If you appreciate Korean cuisine and are in the mood for a convivial BBQ, this is the place for you.

Highly recommended... it's best to reserve a table in advance. The food is amazing, the service really good. The ambiance is functional, but perfectly fine. I loved our evening there.

We went there with my seven-year-old daughter, and we wanted to sit by the window. All the chairs were empty. A man came over and said we weren't allowed to sit there. He pointed to a table at the back, and if we didn't sit there, we'd have to leave. He was really mean to us. We don't know what his food tastes like because we couldn't eat there. And it was raining outside!

The Kimchi Prinzess restaurant is located near Görlitzer Bahnhof in Kreuzberg and offers delicious Korean food in a relaxed atmosphere. The food is prepared at your table on a grill. We all enjoyed it very much, and I highly recommend it as a delicious event for a convivial evening. When we were there, most of the tables inside and outside were occupied, so a reservation might be a good idea.

My absolute favorite – I always come here when I'm in Berlin. I'm actually addicted to the pork belly. Great concept. The only criticism inside: The TV with the promotional videos has the opposite effect for me. You keep looking at them, and it spoils the atmosphere. I like it on the website, not in the store.

Kimchi Princess in Berlin was one of the best food experiences I’ve ever had! It’s a Korean BBQ where you cook the meat yourself at the table, and I loved the whole setup and presentation. The quality of the meat was excellent, and the side dishes were amazing, everything was full of flavor. A fun, delicious, and unforgettable dining experience. Definitely a 5-star spot!

A successful first experience with Korean cuisine! The barbecue is served with sides and rice. It's a real show: they cook and cut the meat for you. Note that you are required to order at least two portions of the same meat to have a barbecue (it's a bit of a shame on this point). The cocktails are good but still expensive. I don't recommend the desserts. The restaurant is, however, very noisy and it is sometimes difficult to be heard or understood by the servers. Online reservations are recommended.

Frankly, I don't like Korean cuisine that much, but thanks to the service and taste at Kimchi Princess, I liked the food more. The employees are very kind and friendly. I sat for 1+ hours and the employees asked me 3 times if everything was okay. Reservations are mandatory, by the way. They also served me a mixture of mango and crema at the end of my meal.

I always enjoy coming back. Super friendly service, delicious bibimbap and the pickled vegetables that come with it, and the snacks/appetizers are also top-notch. I also think your iced tea is delicious. You just have to be prepared for the strong smell of a kitchen when the barbecue is cooking around you, but anyone who's ever had Korean food knows that :) Keep it up! You've been a very reliable and great place for delicious food for me over the years, and I always enjoy coming back.

Der Service am Tisch, insbesondere bei der Zubereitung der Grillplatten, war nicht nur praktisch, sondern auch unterhaltsam. Die Einrichtung im kühlen Industrial-Stil mit viel Beton und Metall wirkt modern, aber etwas ungemütlich. Die Sitzmöglichkeiten, darunter Alustühle mit Lehne und Bänke ohne Rückenlehne, sind nicht optimal. Dennoch überzeugt der herzliche Empfang. Es gibt Sitzplätze drinnen (oben und unten) sowie draußen, bei freier Platzwahl. Die Speisekarte beeindruckte mit einer Vielzahl unbekannter Gerichte, die unsere Neugier weckten. Die Vorspeisen überzeugten durch Authentizität, und die Hauptgerichte - drei verschiedene Grillplatten - waren ein Highlight. Auch für Veganer gab es passende Optionen, und die koreanischen Getränke rundeten das Erlebnis ab. Unser Abend bei „Princes Kimchi" war eine gelungene kulinarische Entdeckung. Die authentische koreanische Küche und der freundliche Service machen das Restaurant empfehlenswert. Tipp: Nehmt euch Zeit, um die Vielfalt zu genießen - es lohnt sich!

This is an update to my review: The place got very popular and kind of expensive in my opinion. It is hard to find a table sometimes, too. "Very nice korean food in Berlin Kreuzberg. They have lunch menus until 17 (including bibimbap)and Korean BBQ in the evening. It is also good for big groups and families."

Solid BBQ in Berlin, but there are better Koreans in Berlin with better side dishes and less expensive prices.

Obvious disappointment. Firstly, unnecessarily expensive for small portions. Min 2 people for grill rule is ridiculous and I can't understand why customers can't use grills. It's not a rocket science that we need special help. I tried calamar, pork belly and chicken grills. Calamar was really bad. Using too much spice overpowered all the flavour. Pork belly was okay but nothing special. Chicken was the best of them. But again, not a very delicious experience. Not recommended.

Super overpriced - the vegan bibimbap and vegetarian option cost the same as the beef option. How does that make sense when the vegan option is the vegetarian option minus the egg and the vegetarian option is the beef option without the beef. (Beef with egg - beef = vegetarian) - egg = vegan, so why are all the same price. 16.90 for a bowl of rice in Berlin is crazy pants. Tonight they also messed up our order and the waiter didn’t seem to understand or willing to make it right. We ordered one beef bibimbap, one vegetarian, and two vegan. The bill had our order correct but the waiter brought out two vegetarian one beef and one vegan. He seemed confused and flustered when we tried to point out that it was wrong. In the end, one of the vegans just gave the egg to the vegetarian person so it wasn’t much of an issue, but it’s still dumb that all four of the dishes cost the same when they all have the same quantity and ingredients as the vegan option plus extras but the vegan people still pay just as much money. Why do the sides come in the same amount when you order one portion of bibimbap as when there are more people and everyone has to share? Why does not every dish come with the same amount of sides. You would think for a ludicrous price point you would get a larger portion. Also, the lighting is way too red and makes it difficult to see what you’re eating. Good concept for a bar but weird for food. Tourist spot. I hope the owner responds with an explanation about the pricing being the same. I think the vegan bibimbap should cost 8,50 and the additional proteins should be extra.

Every time I am in Berlin, I eat here to enjoy Korean food and leave knowing I am coming back on my next Berlin trip.

The food is simply great. Some small side dishes such as various kimchi made from cucumber, Chinese cabbage or pickled radish are brought to the BBQ, so that there is a colorful selection of meat, vegetables and the excellent sauce. However, if you are more hungry, you would have to order extra rice. The service was impressive. At least 5 waiters are always on the move at the same time and the waiter prepares the BBQ fresh at his own table, asks how the meat should be prepared and remembers the whole thing on the spot! Only the ambience could be a little more cozy for my taste, otherwise a visit is highly recommended!

Very tasty & authentic Korean food. Just portions are a bit small in relation to the price.

The restaurant has an amazing vibe, urban, very red and communal. There are lots of tables you can share with others. The food is unbelievable! I got a seafood stew and my friend a chicken salad! The portion size is pretty good and honestly can’t wait to go back and try the bbq! The only down side is that you will come out smelling like you cooked the meal for everyone😂 but I would do it again soon because the food is worth the smelly jacket!
