A lovely evening in a pleasant atmosphere.

The terrace is beautifully located directly below Marburg Castle, the view is a little overgrown, but still nice. The service staff is very nice, attentive and pleasantly unconventional. The food is very tasty, but in my opinion the prices are a bit too high, also when it comes to the drinks. The toilet (ladies) outside definitely needed cleaning.

The food was very good and sitting on the terrace under the parasols was very pleasant. Still, I won't be coming back for the time being. It is very expensive, but the service could have been more attentive. In addition, the light in the toilet didn't work and there was no way to dry your hands.

A disaster. Despite having a long-term reservation outside, we had to sit inside on Mother's Day when the weather was beautiful. The service staff was incredibly unprofessional. The food came two hours after ordering, was partly cold and unfortunately didn't taste good. A real failure. Definitely not again.

Just drinking something, ordering and paying was a disaster. 1 man for 30 tables Ordered and over 30 minutes later the drink arrived as ordered. We wanted to pay and leave when the drinks arrived.

Nice location, apparently professionally managed, the card promises more than it delivers and charges significantly more money than is reasonable. My experience was marred by the surprise delivery of asparagus with *mashed potatoes* instead of triplets. Anyone who charges EUR 33 for a simple asparagus dish should be able to point out the defect to the customer when ordering and not ignore clearly expressed surprise.

Everything was great - quick check-in right under the castle with a view of the city - everything was nice, portions could have been a little more generous. We'll be back :)

A little more expensive but the food is very tasty and of high quality. At lunchtime outside when the weather is nice you have a very nice view.

In my opinion, anyone who is upset about the quality of the food or has anything else to complain about simply wants to complain. There is absolutely nothing to complain about. The service staff is without exception super friendly and accommodating. How you can complain about their clothing and deduct points because of it is beyond me :D What counts is a friendly conversation and a courteous attitude - especially in 2025, one would think. I've experienced that every time here. So, keep it up. By the way, the veal schnitzel couldn't be better :) The price for the food is absolutely reasonable considering the quality!

The dishes correspond to a high level of craftsmanship. The Bückingsgarten also plays in the Champions League in terms of taste. A big thank you to the kitchen and service crew. You get 6 stars from me😉

We have often been guests at Bückingsgarten and it has been my favorite restaurant in Marburg so far. But now the prices no longer bear any relation to the size of the portions. The greeting from the kitchen, starter bread with dip, is no longer available. I find that very unfortunate. Otherwise, for me, the service no longer matches the high prices. Too bad...

Had great lunch with a friend today, food was excellent, service very friendly, maybe a bit too cheeky, and the location is stunning.

I ordered spring awakening - sour cream dressing, radishes, asparagus and baking peas (that's exactly what it said on the menu) and I got: lettuce (a bowl full), finely chopped cucumbers (a few), coleslaw, pickled radishes (I didn't recognize them at first because they looked so colorless), baking peas and croutons and... I then found the very finely chopped asparagus. Very very little and cut into small pieces so that I couldn't taste it. When I asked where the asparagus was and pickle salad isn't on the menu, the following answer came: "If you want to eat asparagus, then you should have ordered asparagus!" 🫢 I ordered this, didn't I? The atmosphere is very nice and the food was okay overall, I would have just liked to have eaten what was on the menu - and not a bowl full of oversized lettuce.

From the reservation (we were even told by phone when the kitchen would open because we wanted to eat at an earlier time) to the service and the food, everything was excellent! The taste was great, the atmosphere was really special, we would love to come back!

We spontaneously stopped in for dinner late in the afternoon on Easter Sunday. We sat nicely on the beautiful terrace with a beautiful view of Marburg. Very very tasty high quality food. Today I showed my relatives the Landgrave's Castle. Afterwards, we stopped for coffee at the Bückingsgarten. The cake was delicious, but unfortunately, the cappuccino was served almost cold. We mentioned it to the waiter, who took the cups back. We heard the steaming of the steam wand, and a short time later, the cappuccino was back on the table—this time warm, thanks to the wand. As a result, my cousin had my sweetened cappuccino and I had her unsweetened one. Especially in a restaurant with such a great ambiance, we felt this service didn't match the high standards we expected. When paying, we pointed this out to the waiter, who just grinned friendly. That was weak—we felt a small concession would have been appropriate.

A wonderful place with usually excellent cuisine and first-class service (casually friendly!) Unfortunately this time the food can only be given four stars because the dessert was not edible. Clearly a slip-up. The sincere apology was accepted and of course the “accident” did not appear on the invoice. We'd love to come back!

The Bückingsgarten restaurant is so close to perfection that you almost become suspicious - but only until the first dish is on the table! From the greeting to the last bite, you'll feel like a VIP (Very Important Papillary Pamperer). The service? Friendly, charming and so attentive that you wonder if they secretly read minds. The menu offers selections that will delight even the pickiest palate - my stomach applauds every time. And then this view! If the food wasn't a reason to come here, the setting would be even more so. Conclusion: If you're not happy here, you're probably just not hungry!

Very good food, the service leaves a lot to be desired. Very long waiting time for food, orders, drinks...it was not possible to reorder drinks. Maybe we just had a bad day, but we were disappointed.

Very tasty food. Everyone enjoyed it. The atmosphere was very cozy and really nice. The waiters were very attentive and extremely organized. The vegan options could be expanded even further, there is only one vegan dish (but it was very tasty). However, upon request, we also prepared a dressing in the salad as a vegan starter.

The food was delicious, the staff was very friendly and the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas. Very happy again.

We came from a little further away to celebrate my friend's birthday with a cozy dinner. Our expectations were exceeded. The food reminded us both of our childhood and really tasted like grandma's. The dessert felt like it added glitter to the experience. Almost everything was handmade and you could tell. The service was exceptionally good and the staff always had a very nice atmosphere. We really enjoyed the evening and will definitely be back. A compliment to the kitchen!

Located directly at the castle. Typically difficult to reach in Marburg. Spacious outdoor area. The interiors are very atmospherically designed. Everything clean. Staff friendly and accommodating, yet calmly professional. All dishes (for 6 people) were without exception tasty and beautifully presented. I think the prices are appropriate for the level. We'd love to come back. Clear recommendation.

Conclusion: We drive (60 km one way) to this restaurant every quarter because we really like it. You have to eat here at least once.

A simple dish like currywurst surprised. Homemade fries, incredibly tasty and quality sausages. Ham salad was superb and served with a delicious toasted bread. Good service, good prices!

The food is phenomenal. However, the service has potential for optimization. Wait 5 minutes at the entrance until the reserved place is assigned. The main course comes directly after the first course and is served while the plates from the starter are still being cleared away. A complaint will be made. dismissed with “misunderstanding in the kitchen”. The second complaint leads to the promise of a free cafe...which then appeared on the bill. And the “how did you like it with us” email from me the next day was clearly written negatively. There has been no response to date. Then why the question???

We were offered a place at a table without a reservation because we only wanted to have a quick drink for 30 minutes. We ordered; However, they were asked to leave the table again after just 3 minutes. The guests with reservations arrived half an hour early. When we asked where we should drink the drinks we had ordered, we (4 people) were directed to a table without seats, where we had to organize the seating from other tables ourselves. To the displeasure of the service manager, we said no and left. Despite the really great ambience, the service seemed very disorganized and also not able to cope with the volume of tourists. Too bad!

Great restaurant in a working dream location. In one direction you can see the castle and in the other there is a great view of Marburg. The food tastes fantastic and the service is a grade 1, very friendly and accommodating. An absolutely successful evening in great weather!

I was completely taken for a ride. I ordered a Lillet Wild Berry, they brought me a Hugo on ice with lime. I complained about this, the drink was taken away and the same thing came back with berries. There were even Hugo's limes in there. I complained about this again. The drink went back and what came back, the same drink without lime. I complained about this again when paying. And how much did the fun cost 11 euros. Unbelievable and the service was a disaster. My complaint was not taken seriously. Oh the Hugo should only cost 9.50 euros. Sad. I imagine service to be different.

We were with a group on the terrace. The location is really nice with a great view. Unfortunately the seating was quite uncomfortable. Service was friendly but slow. We had to wait a long time, especially for the first order and to pay. Some of the food was very good, but some of it was just good and the price/performance ratio wasn't right. While the veal schnitzel is recommended, the flank steak is more a matter of luck. Three people ordered a flank steak (250g). The size of the three steaks were completely different from large and thick to medium but completely thin. Accordingly, my steak, for example, did not meet my desired level of doneness, but was too well-done. Given the price level, I would have expected salt and pepper to be on the tables as standard. When it comes to starters, you should remember that the papaya cold bowl is served in a mini terrine. Overall, the restaurant is certainly worth a visit, but you need a bit of luck and time for a successful visit.

A very nice location. The food was good, the service was sometimes friendly. It all took quite a long time. The four of us ate for over €300. My large portion of spare ribs came with two slices of baguette. I ordered some more bread. However, this only came long after I had finished eating and on the plate of my companion, who had ordered a second dish.

Very nice restaurant with lots of outside seating. However, you have to reserve in advance. We chose the indoor area because it was very warm that day and it is air conditioned. We ordered a 3-course menu, where you could choose from 2 starters, a main course and desserts. Everything was super tasty and very fresh. The employees are all very nice and friendly. We felt we were in good hands and will definitely come back. 👍

I spent a great birthday here with my family. Delicious lunch in a cozy atmosphere with a view of the entire city. We all felt so comfortable in the beer garden that we spontaneously stayed longer and ate homemade strawberry cake from the tray. Summary: Not a run-of-the-mill restaurant, but selected, high-quality dishes. We'll definitely be back!

Was I just in Vienna or in Marburg??? Of course we ordered apple cider rosé, and as a starter there was a spring salad with baked oyster mushrooms, nuts and crispy bread cubes! The view is unforgettable, the late sun plays along! When the Wiener Schnitzel arrived, I was surprised and almost lifted out of my chair! Airy, melt-in-your-mouth veal, perfectly seasoned and let me just say one thing, the marinated cucumber salad was a dream! Plus, of course, cranberries and the mashed potatoes with a hint of butter that you could smell!!! The boys know what they are doing!!! For the quality and the property the price performance is definitely ok! Terrace well maintained and the view is unique! Service, the boys were a bit lively and confused, but they made up for it all with a smile and charm!🥰 Regular waiters are always on their toes and take orders! Well full, I was persuaded to try a baked walnut waffle with homemade ice cream, I couldn't say no! And then it was brought, waffle fresh and nutty, homemade yoghurt ice cream and peanut ice cream, melty but not too sweet! Dear team, you did everything right, keep it up! Will definitely come back!
