Rustic alpine hut with charm, great views of the mountains and friendly staff.

A beautiful alpine pasture for a rest and a snack. Great views of the surrounding peaks. Nice tables and benches on the terrace, and even three lounge chairs and parasols for a shady spot. The facility is very quaint and stylish. Unfortunately, it was closed that day for a cattle drive. But we'll be back; it's absolutely recommended.

Disappointing – Overpriced Beer in the Self-Service Area We recently visited the Buchrainer Alpe and were, to be honest, a little disappointed. We feel that charging €4.50 for a bottle of beer in the self-service area is excessive – especially when they don't even issue a bill. By comparison, at our hotel in Oberstdorf, we paid only €3.80 for a freshly tapped beer (the same amount) with service and 19% VAT. Unfortunately, the impression is created that this is targeting tourists, with the motto "they'll pay for it." That's a shame, because this is precisely the attitude that prevents visitors from becoming regulars. A quick note to the team: Keep things in perspective – a fair price and a more open approach to this would be welcome.

It was simply wonderful. The mountain cheese is one of the best in the Allgäu, and the view is priceless.

If you're looking for a little break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this is the place for you. The climb is definitely worth it. Magnificent scenery. It's great to know there are still people who preserve tradition. A super-friendly dairy family with a great sense of humor. The cheese is a dream. You can also buy it there. I even had some homemade buttermilk, it was simply delicious. I will definitely visit this beautiful alpine pasture again.

Now you may be amazed by my review. We're talking about a cheese farm here. A truly beautiful old wooden house, no frills, just honest and authentic. Great outdoor seating. The hosts and dairymaid were very friendly and authentic. We had a wonderful time there. All the food is homemade or from local producers. The cheese is amazing.

Our rest stop in the Rappenalptal valley. Beautifully situated, with delicious homemade cakes and friendly owners. And delicious, locally produced cheese, also available to take away. We paid just €8 for just over 400 grams of cheese.

I cycled from Sonthofen up to the Alpe by bike (not e-bike)! Everything tastes twice as delicious there, so it can only get 5 stars. Completely happy 👍😃

I saw the article "Sagenhaft - Das Allgäu" in the ARD media library and produced my first own mountain cheese a few months ago. I just wanted to ask a question about cheese while I was there... Unfortunately the dairymaid didn't have time for that - either just focused on business, stressed or simply unfriendly.

A very rustic and beautiful alp. I can only recommend. And you definitely have to try the gratinated farmhouse bread. 🤤 we ordered some more straight away!

We have come to you every year for many years We watched your children grow up 😁 Enjoyed the wonderful homemade cake and of course enjoyed the wonderful cheese and took it with us Admired the beautiful landscape Unfortunately we haven't been able to do it for two years. We don't have enough breath for the hike 🥺 But we just found out from a report on television that we can buy cheese online in the winter months This is wonderful and a way for us to enjoy the cheese and reminisce And to have a little bit of our beloved mountains at home 😁 See you fall! A beautiful piece of earth.. Cozy and very clocky. Which, however, put me off a bit. Was that because young sheep and cows were exposed to the blazing heat/sun without any possibility of retreat. The animals also noticed it. Even if animals of this species can endure it, I don't think it's a bad idea to have the option of shade.

Stopped on a bike ride and had a drink. Quaint and scenic place. Very friendly innkeepers. Toilet sparkling clean.

One of the most beautiful corners... the view of the mountains is gigantic... the operators are very nice... definitely try the baked cheese bread and the mountain gentian.

An Alpe in a great location with a super tasty sausage salad

Eine Ur gemütliche Alpe wo der Käse noch selber gemacht wird. Wir haben einen 15 Momate gereiften Käse mitgenommen, so lecker 😋, und der Käse - Kuchen, kann man nur empfehlen, die Aussicht ist unbezahlbar.

Volle 5 Sterne. Echter Geheimtipp mit toller Aussicht. Mit dem Fahrrad gut erreichbar. Die letzten ca. 2 km steiler Anstieg bis zur Hütte.

Typische Allgäuer Alpe. Der Chef hinterm Thresen gibt sich eher unfreundlich aber das gehört so. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Bis auf die Alpe gekämpft aber leider wegen Viehscheid geschlossen. Trotzdem schön!

Tolle Alpe im Rappenalptal. Urig und wunderschön.

Die Alpe ist sehr schön gelegen und man schmeckt die Liebe im Essen. Hier "spürt" man die harte Arbeit ,welche dort täglich zu verrichten ist. Der Duft der Molke hängt in der Luft.

Haben heute diesen wunderschönen Ort besucht 😁.....es war ein tolles Erlebnis dort oben. Die Brotzeit war der Hit......ganz toll. Preis/Leistung ist 👍......hätte auch mehr Sterne vergeben⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Nach der Wanderung von Alpe Eschbach über Einödsbach zur Buchrainer Alpe, größtenteils Bergauf, erreicht man die urige Alpe. Ein Familienbetrieb! Fast alles selbst gemacht von 17 Kühen. Bei einem Gewitter wurde ein Raum schnell leergeräumt, von den Kindern und Sennerin, damit die Gäste sich unterstellen und/oder ihre Speisen verzehren konnten. Sehr zu empfehlen!!!!

Schöne Einkehr bei ganz netter Bewirtung

Das war ein besonderes Erlebnis. Alles hausgemacht, aus lokalen Zutaten zubereitet und sehr gut, und der Ausblick auf die Berge ist unbezahlbar. Ich würde auf jeden Fall jedem empfehlen, hierher zu kommen. Auch der Service war freundlich, wir haben nichts zu beanstanden. Wir sehen uns bei einer anderen Gelegenheit wieder!

"Mann ist das urig", das hört man öfter hier oben von den zahlreichen Wanderern oder Bikern. (Sennalpe, 17Jhdt., Familienbetrieb ) Kaffe und heiße Schokolade, dazu einen selbstgemachten, leckeren Kuchen. Das passt alles hierher und gehört einfach zum relaxten Alpenurlaub dazu. Höhe 1129m

Wir haben Käse im Online-Shop bestellt. Durch die mdr-Sendung Sagenhaft über das Allgäu wurde uns der Käse und die traditionelle Herstellung schmackhaft gemacht. Gerne wieder und viele Grüße aus dem Erzgebirge.

Idyllischer Wanderweg von der Fellhornbahn aus. Für Kinder gut zu wandern. Die Alpe ist wunderschön gelegen. Sehr leckere Brotzeit mit traumhafter Bergkulisse. Der Käse ist aus eigener Herstellung und nicht nur für Käseliebhaber eine Empfehlung. Jedes Jahr ein Muss in unserem Urlaub.

Wunderschöner Ort. Dieser alleine hätte 5 Sterne verdient. Leider habe ich einen Apfel-Zwetschgen Kuchen gegessen, bzw wollte ihn essen. Er war für mich nicht genießbar. Ein fürchterlich trockenes Eckstück. An der Ecke schwarz gebrannt. Viel zu süß. Wirklich zum abgewöhnen. Sehr schade! Vielleicht lag es daran, dass zum Saisonende die Lust an Qualität verloren geht …

Der Kirsch-Nusskuchen ist sehr zu empfehlen.

Die Buchrainer Alpe hat mich auf dem Rückweg nach Birgsau gerettet. Das leckere König Ludwig Dunkel und eine super Leberknödelsuppe. Der Ausblick auf die Berge ist klasse.

Die Buchrainer Alpe ist der Drehort für die ALMIGHURT ALM aus dem Fernsehen ;-) hier gibt es leckere Brotzeit und leckeren Kuchen, Wurst und Käse aus eigener Herstellung gibt es auch zum mitnehmen! Der Rundweg über Einödsbach/Birgsau führt im letzten Drittel direkt an der Buchrainer Alpe vorbei!
