Excellent! I occasionally stay in Schwangau in a family apartment and discovered this restaurant on my last visit. The service is incredibly friendly, personal, and relaxed – and the food is delicious! I was also very pleased that the waiter recognized me, even though my first and last visit was almost six months ago. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in the area. Making a reservation is recommended – the restaurant is understandably popular! Many thanks to the whole team!

We ate at Brunnenstüberl yesterday and were absolutely thrilled. The atmosphere is fantastic and instantly makes you feel at ease. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive; you immediately feel welcome. As for the food: Simply superb! And I'm not exaggerating when I say it was the best Kaiserschmarrn I've ever had. The delicious apricot liqueur was the perfect finishing touch. We'll definitely be back! Thank you so much for a wonderful evening.

Brunnenstüberl, the cozy restaurant located right at the entrance of Camping Brunnen, turned out to be one of the highlights of our stay. From the very first moment, the warm welcome set the tone for a lovely dining experience. The man who greeted us was exceptionally friendly and made us feel right at home, creating a relaxed and inviting atmosphere that immediately stood out compared to many campsite restaurants. On our first evening, we visited as a group of four and quickly noticed how popular the place was. Making a reservation is highly recommended, especially during weekends or evenings, as many guests from both the campsite and nearby areas come to dine here. Despite the busy night, the service was attentive, fast, and delivered with genuine friendliness that made the evening even more enjoyable. The food at Brunnenstüberl was absolutely delicious. Each dish we tried was well-prepared, flavorful, and presented with care. The portions were generous without being overwhelming, and the variety on the menu meant everyone at the table found something to their liking. The combination of quality ingredients and reasonable pricing makes it great value for money. We were so impressed by the first evening that we decided to return the next night, and it was every bit as good as before. After a cold and rainy day touring castles and museums, Brunnenstüber was the PERFECT place for warm, hearty German food with a wonderful atmosphere. The staff were kind and accommodating both to our poor handle on the German language (they speak English) and my wife’s gluten sensitivity. They were able to provide some wonderful suggestions for her beyond the standard salad and brats. She got the roasted pork with potatoes and sauce and it was all gluten free. Our party also ordered the pork medallions and boiled beef and it was all incredible! The place was warm and cozy which was nice after being cold and wet all day. I highly recommend this restaurant if you’re visiting the area. We are waiting for the Apfelstrudel and chocolate mousse for desserts, and I’m confident they will be amazing.

We visited the Brunnenstüberl twice during our vacation. The food was delicious, and we didn't have to wait long. Unfortunately, the service on our first visit wasn't very friendly. Even without a reservation, we got a table with a view of the lake both times without having to wait.

If you’re going to Neuschwanstein Castle, then you must visit this amazing restaurant. My #1 suggest - try spare ribs, it’s really delicious. One more good thing to consider: they have huge portions, so even if you’re too hungry, don’t order too much food. FYI we ordered spare ribs, pizza, schnitzel and french fries for 4 person, it was more than enough. So, I hope you’ll enjoy spending your time here

The restaurant belongs to the adjacent campsite – but you really wouldn't notice it. Its high-quality ambiance is modern, clean, and tastefully decorated. Everything is just right here – from the stylish interior to the excellent cuisine. We had a pizza to go the day before, and it was so good that we went straight there to eat the next evening. From pizza to regional classics – everything is top-notch and incredibly delicious! Great hosts, service as you would expect, and an incredibly good light beer to go with it. A little tip: Be sure to make a reservation in advance – the Brunnenstüberl is very popular!

We went to the Brunnenstüberl yesterday afternoon after seeing a musical, and we really enjoyed it. We ordered pizza, schnitzel with fries, a small salad, and a cappuccino. The service was very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere was very good. We particularly enjoyed the salad dressing and the fries, some of which still had the skin on them. And on the way to the restroom, we discovered some rental bags for children. We parked in front of Brunnen, to the right, across the bridge in a free parking lot, and then walked along the lake to the Brunnenstüberl, as we couldn't find a parking space there.

Friendly people at the next table make dining out an experience; there's nothing anonymous or sterile about it. We'd be happy to go back.

As a solo traveler, I had no problem getting a seat here every evening, and the staff was always warm and attentive. I simply felt truly at home. I tried something different every day, and it was consistently delicious. Even the young chef personally checked to make sure everything was perfect—you don't find that often! I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. For this reason alone, I would go back to Lake Forggensee anytime. :)

Absolutely recommended! Don't be put off by the fact that it's on a campsite. The food was delicious, the service friendly and fun, and even though the place was packed, we didn't have to wait long for our food. Reservations are required. We weren't staying at the campsite, but we ate here every day anyway. The food was always excellent. Even though we didn't have a reservation, there was always a spot for two, even if it was outside under a patio heater. Thanks for the great service. We had a delicious meal and enjoyed the beautiful view over the water. The staff were very friendly and helpful! The restaurant is very clean and tidy and looks nice.

We ordered a Vienna Schnitzel with potato salad and steak with vegetables! The food was tasty although the steak was a little hard for me! We ordered Radler and Weißbier! Radler was good but Weißbier was a little tasteless. After ordering the drink it took so long to take our meal order! And again afterward nobody asked if we need anything else or not! We didn’t have a reservation but there were some tables free, once we entered a couple was living so we asked to sit on their place but the guy was a little unfriendly (I guess he was the owner of the restaurant). In my opinion they really welcome those who are staying in the next camping place more, not other guests, it’s just my feeling. But the food was ok and we liked the scenery.

We would like to thank you again in writing. Even though the restaurant was very full and all tables were reserved, they quickly found us two more seats. The location and atmosphere are absolutely fantastic, the staff are on the ball and very friendly. A special compliment again to the chef, who, according to the waitress, is only in his early 20s. Hats off to him, all the dishes were absolutely perfect and perfectly seasoned.

We've enjoyed coming here for years. Even when we were vacationing on the Austrian side, we spent a day at Lake Forggensee and ate here with our children. Despite the restaurant being full, the service is always quaint and friendly, they're happy to give tips on dishes, and the food, always down-to-earth, is excellent value for money. Special praise goes to Steffi, who repeatedly postpones her break for the guests, as we've inadvertently noticed with other guests.

We ate there on August 17, 2025. The price/performance ratio was absolutely fine. The service and surroundings were excellent. The restaurant and surroundings were fantastic.

We ate there 11 times during our 14-day vacation. We ate our way through the menu once, and without exception, every meal was delicious. Everything was freshly prepared and the portions were generous. Once a week, they serve oven-fresh knuckle of pork, a dream. The waiters were all super friendly and always in a good mood; even when the place was full, they always kept an eye on things. The interior ambiance is very cozy, and we also really enjoyed the terrace with its view of the lake and the mountains. We definitely recommend it; we would have given it more than 5 stars if it had been possible.

During a cruise around Lake Forggensee, we stopped at the Brunnen bus stop. We walked along the lake for about 15 minutes and arrived at the Brunnenstüberl (a beautifully situated campsite with a restaurant). Lovely restaurant, both outside and inside. The waiters were dressed in traditional costume and were very friendly and accommodating. Orders, etc., were taken very quickly. I had a currywurst (a slightly different currywurst for someone from the Ruhr area), which was very tasty. The fries looked like they were hand-cut, with some of the skin on them, but they were very tasty, as was the sauce. My partner had chanterelle mushrooms with dumplings. The sauce was a bit too salty, but otherwise it was good, as were the portions. We sat outside, overlooking the lake, simply beautiful. We would gladly return anytime; you simply feel at home there and valued as a guest.

Booked in while staying at the campsite - reservations needed! The staff were super friendly and helpful. The food (I had the steak) was truly fantastic and the beer on tap is great as well. Great views from the restaurant with a classic bavarian/alpine aesthetic that is immediately cozy. I wish I had eaten here both nights of my stay and I will be back one day. Compliments to everybody who works here it was the perfect way to finish my last night in Germany.

Excellent. Typical atmosphere and dishes but with modern kitchen and decor, friendly staff, fast service and good food. There were a lot of flies inside but that was not very disturbing.

The food was ok. We noticed that it was very difficult to get a waiter at our table; to order drinks, to order the food, to order desert and to pay. Maybe it was too busy. But on the second day it happened again. Not that busy this time. But we saw 2 waiters cleaning tables, while we were still waiting to order. After 15 minutes we decided to leave.

We went to the Brunnenstüberl after a bike ride because of the good reviews. We were not disappointed. Beautifully located right next to the campsite, overlooking Lake Forggensee. We had the currywurst with fries. The fries were made with fresh potatoes and were the best we've ever eaten. I had a pizza from the daily special. Both were so good that we stopped by the Brunnenstüberl again after our tour around Lake Forggensee. I ordered a large Kaiserschmarren (smothered pancakes). The small portion would have been filling enough ;-). We then had a mixed salad with fried chicken strips. We would go back in a heartbeat.

We chose this restaurant based on the good reviews. I'd say it's an insider tip, as it's not easy to find. Service, food, and ambiance – everything was to our complete satisfaction. We'd be happy to go back!

No pizza available at 6:30 PM on a public holiday... Of course, you could still have ordered a currywurst for €13.90 or a Wiener Schnitzel for €19.50. Crazy prices Sorry, it was worth a try... never again...

Unfortunately, the atmosphere from back then isn't the same as it is today. We used to love going there, and we were back in 2025, and the last time was three or four years ago, and the food and atmosphere were so-so. There's also a huge mosquito problem that also eats the food... We won't be going back. It's a shame; the previous owners were probably in trouble because of the coronavirus, and so they've hired new tenants.

Great campsite right on the lake. Water isn't available until June. We were disappointed with the food. 2. Bavarian roast with crust. The roast was very dry...the day before???. The cabbage was very lightly seasoned, and the portion sizes were also inconsistent. I'm used to the napkin dumplings being different in Bavaria. The sauce portions were also inconsistent. A shame, because the other dishes looked better, both visually and in the guests' opinions.

This year was our first time back here. Compared to last year, the friendliness of the staff, the speed of the service, and the cuisine were just as good. The portions (currywurst with fries and salad and the Wiener schnitzel with fries) were excellent. The portion sizes left no doubt that you wouldn't be full. We'll be back several more times this year. I can recommend this restaurant wholeheartedly (as always, I don't take any photos. Plenty of photos have already been taken of the place.)

Best Kaiserschmarren ever... Modern, friendly run inn at the campsite.

We came across this restaurant by chance on our girls' trip and went for ice cream in the afternoon and were told to definitely make a reservation for the evening. No sooner said than done. We were lucky to get a parking space both times. The employees had their hands full, but the food came very quickly and everyone was friendly. A glass was broken by the waiter next to us. That lightened our mood and his spirit and we had a good laugh. Such a dinner is much nicer than the standard one. We hope the young man didn't get into trouble because of the wearing part (the glass) ^^. In this sense, the inn is highly recommended :-)

However, the kitchen can no longer match the great quality of recent years. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is no longer right here. - As always worth a visit.
