Brechts Steakhaus in Berlin

Yesterday we went to the steak tasting, what can I write except: Simply great. From the starter to the dessert, a full 10 points. The nice waiter explained everything very well and that the meat was cut perfectly. The beer was probably at the right temperature. I can only warmly recommend everything

Nice place, but mediocre service and food. The cocktails is below medium and the food is in the category " I will eat it without complaining, since it I got very hungry waiting for it". Wanted some vegetables for my food, but was told thaumy only got fries or backed potatoes, even though they had a loong list of diffrent asparagus dishes. I would setled with some asparagus, butt it seems as it is onluy served with other dishes than beef and no exception is made. Closed to rude staff, many ants on the tables. (Had to change table to be able to eat my food without sharing all of it with the ants crawling over the chairs and tables). Noisy traffic in the streets. We had to order the second serving of our drinks three times before we got it. Won't consider to go back.

Unfortunately it was a failure. In our opinion, the steak was streaked with fat and not cooked to the right level. We were then directly threatened with the police and a lawyer… what kind of service is that?! Not recommended!

Relaxed atmosphere, great meat (especially the Chateaubriand), nice service. Highly recommended.

Superb setting, which is completely ruined by terrible service, several order errors, no smile, spilled beer…. The meat is certainly quality, but very poorly dressed and above all an error in cooking on two dishes.. At the price of a starred restaurant, it is a great shame to offer such a service.

On the recommendation of the waiter, the rib eye steak was ordered today and it was served medium rare as requested. A table was set straight away for 12 people and the wine recommendation was also very precise. Gladly again

Went out to dinner spontaneously today. Found a nice restaurant. Very good food. Very good wine list and great advice from the very friendly waiter.

We ate asparagus. We specifically asked if the hollandaise sauce was homemade. Of course!!!, we were told. It was an outright lie. In the end it turned out that it was a ready-made hollandaise out of a bag and that's embarrassing and actually not necessary for a restaurant in this price range. But it just seems to be a tourist trap. Really a shame. The location itself is beautiful. Service points are also deducted for the long waiting time. We waited 1 hour for our food. Better just have a drink and eat somewhere else!!!

5 stars for the shrimp. I ordered 0.5 kg of shrimps and actually a plate full of shrimps. Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. I gave up the Aperol, but the Moscow mule was also tasteless.

Food is nice…. 0.75L of water for €9.40 is too much. AND if the bottle is no longer sealed, it smells bad... Bad.

The 3-course Chateaubriand menu was excellent, the salad with the dressing was excellent. The service was a bit nervous but extremely nice and friendly. We felt very comfortable.

I ll be straightforward: You should not go here for a complete lunch, just for hanging around. To breakdown why: 1. Even though we were in not high season, the food take so long to arrive. The quality price was not good worthy. The burger that a person ordered beside us arrived fast (thats why better go for a snack or a beer with friends). 2. The landscape is interesting, sometimes a bit crowded. 3. The service is (maybe ill be subjetive in this matter) regular. The waiter took a while in attending us, even though there were not so many people. The waiter misunderstood our order and only brought a plate (of two); I understand as a non-native German speaker it maybe a language barrier, but for a touristic place they should be more open to English use. 4. Finally, when I made my complain and point, the waiter stood in his position stating that was my mistake instead of being empathetic to foreing clients.

Ordered the weekly special (filet mignon with asparagus and hollandaise sauce). Unfortunately I inhaled it before I could get a photo of this exquisite meal. One of the best steaks I’ve had in Berlin and I was not expecting that in such a touristic area. Will be coming back for more!

The cocktails were excellent, but we were surprised by the confusion around the Aioli Olives — we had to explain multiple times that this should include olives. In the end, we were also charged separately for the olives, which felt a bit off.

I had a very successful steak tasting. We were a group of 7 people. The menu opened with onion soup, beef tartare and carpaccio were served as starters. The main course included fillet, rib eye and rump steak cuts. Then again rump steak and rib eye, dry aged. You could also order side dishes. The meat was of very good quality and a second helping was available if necessary. My highlight was the fillet which practically melted in your mouth. The whole thing was rounded off with a creme brulet as dessert. The service was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, definitely recommended 👍🏻

Very bad service!!!!! The waitress comes to the table and collects money from people who still have full glasses and sometimes they haven't ordered the bill! Never again !!!!!

A scam. Pretty good meal. But you have to pay for everything extra, fries, meat, bottle of water for €10 And a mandatory tip of €16. Ashamed. To flee!

Very tasty and perfectly cooked fillet steak

The three of us were there on a Monday evening. The restaurant was relatively empty, but all the guests were seated in the same corner. Unfortunately, despite the low occupancy, the service was very inattentive and slow, so we had to wait a long time to even order drinks and food. The steaks were all very good. Nevertheless, in such a restaurant you can expect more appreciation and attention from the waiters.

Four of us were there for the steak tasting and it was absolutely great. There were several starters, 5 different steaks and dessert. Great food, delicious drinks, professional service. We were extremely happy and can recommend it to everyone!

On April 6th, 2025 we reserved a table for 4 people from 3:30 p.m. with a “time slot” until 6:00 p.m.! This time window is also sorely needed! When we entered the restaurant, we didn't really have the impression that we were welcome! After a while we were seated at a table in the very back left corner! Or “parked”? It was 3:45 p.m., it was 4:00 p.m., and at this point we could only dream of a waitress, a menu or even a drink! After I made my displeasure clear to an Asian waitress, a waiter finally had the "graciousness" to bring us a menu! At some point we got our drinks! Water is only available with and without CO2, but not as a medium! Then we ordered our food! My wife had a burger, our companion had salmon and I had the spare ribs! I wanted the spare ribs without potato herb wedges and without fried onions because I can't tolerate them! Then came my spare rips! With fries, as I ordered and unfortunately also with fried onions! I call that very inattentive! The spare rips were not good! I've eaten 100 times better! It's okay that the meat should fall off the bone nicely, but these spare ribs were totally overcooked and wobbly! Really badly done! The cole slaw wasn't well done either! Classic American cole slaw doesn't taste like this! The only bright spot were the potato fries! And that for €22.00! I can't recommend it at all! Service is not a priority in this restaurant, or rather, there is none! Service! You had to “beg” for every drink! Nobody ever came to our table and asked if it tasted good or if we had another wish or would like another drink! I then ordered a cheesecake in a glass! I shouldn't have done that! You can totally forget it! The worst cheesecake ever! Luckily the waiter didn't ask when we paid if we liked it! He would have gotten the right answer from me! My conclusion! I have never felt so unwelcome and so poorly served! I can't recommend the "Brecht's Steakhouse"! Unfortunately ! At least I wouldn't have liked to give any points for the service! Unfortunately we also gave tips!

Top! We have never eaten such a delicious piece of meat. Great taste, tender and cooked to perfection. I've often eaten mediocre steaks, chewed for a long time and angrily "swallowed" the bill. At Brecht's it's different: a bargain, but finally a treat! My conclusion: It's better to eat less, but it's delicious! Ambiance and service also 100%.

We waited 45 min for the starters to come,they said was a bit busy but we was the only table with new order,everyone was about to finish dinner,very disappointed,,

Five of us were there for dinner on Monday evening. Besides us, two other tables were occupied in the restaurant, but otherwise empty. Service was attentive and friendly, but didn't leave a good impression. The waiter came and went 20 minutes (!) after we ordered and said that one of the dishes we had ordered was out of stock. After that, we waited another 20 minutes for the appetizer (oxtail soup), and the main courses arrived after over an hour. The steak was really tasty, and the burgers were solid. Since the sweet potato mash was also out, we were given two extra sauces as compensation. All in all, I wouldn't come back again.

The food is of very high quality and tasty. The atmosphere is cozy.

We spontaneously decided to go to Brecht's Steakhouse. There were seven of us and it was no problem, the employee found a free table. Although we were there with 5 young people, some of them vegetarian, everyone found the right food.

We were there for a candle light dinner. The table was already prepared and we received a friendly welcome. The menu was explained to us and we were given the opportunity to change the dish for an additional charge. The waiters are attentive and courteous. The food tasted fantastic from the starter to the dessert. The rump steak was a poem 🙌🏼 perfectly fried. Praise to the kitchen. The restaurant was very busy and we didn't have to wait long. We will recommend you and will definitely come back again. 👍🏼

Steak tasting in 3 courses with 6 types of meat. The food was really delicious and the food was of very good quality. The service was very attentive and incredibly friendly. We spent almost 4 hours there and went home full and satisfied. Can definitely recommend it. One point deducted (complaining at a high level) because we only had 5 varieties and some of the pieces were very small. The starters and dessert were also very tasty.

Experience overall was fair. Previously we both had the Steak tartare, which had a delicious taste and a good size (quite large). That does create an expectation for the main course. We both opted for the RibEye (dryaged), unfortunately this meat had not yet matured in the cupboard as long as we had thought. Service was ok, but given the price of the result I expected more. O

A mediocre experience. We had the steak tartare beforehand, which was well seasoned and set the bar very high. As a main course we had the dry aged ribeye. It was not stated how long it had matured. We had a steak of 300 grams, which was perhaps a bit too much after the tartare. I am not unfamiliar with the taste of dry aged meat, but unfortunately it was not entirely what I expected. The meat was quite fine on some drier and slightly roasted pieces. Next time I would order the regular ribeye here. The service was very fast and not unfriendly. So more than enough.

We received this visit from our children for Christmas and today was the day. Our meal was so incredibly delicious that we regretted being full. The staff is super sweet and nice. We really felt very comfortable. In any case, we would love to come back

Great food. We ordered bbq ribs, penne rife and meat with mash.

We booked the steak tasting and were very disappointed. There wasn't even a greeting or explanation of the process, nothing was explained about the meat and its preparation (as advertised) and you didn't sit together as a group. It was like normal eating out, everyone at their table and only different types of meat were served. The meat/food itself was very good, and the staff was friendly too. But the expectations of a tasting were not met.

Wir waren zu einem 4 Gang Menü im Brecht. Alles in allem war es ein total toller Abend. Es hat einfach alles gepasst. Ein ganz toller zuvorkommender Service, das Essen war spitzenmäßig. Man kann dieses Lokale absolut weiter empfehlen. Nicht verständlich sind die hier negativen Kommentare. Konnte man in keinster Weise bestätigen. Wir möchten uns bei Team des Brechts nochmal sehr bedanken, für diesen für uns spitzenmäßigen Abend. Danke!!!

The website promised that you would learn everything about good meat, but unfortunately there was no information or explanation during the tasting. It was a normal meal out.

I went to today Steak tasting there. 3 courses, 6 types of meat. The tartare and the carpaccio were impeccable. But then it stopped. My rump steak had such a thick tendon that it was impossible to eat. So I wonder how the steak was cut that has such a tendon in it. The rip eye...hmm what makes a rip eye, the fat eye in the middle. Wasn't there, not a bit. And the crowning glory of the story, the Aged Rip Eye. Again without fat eye and CUT WITH THE FIBER. From the chef personally. What does he actually do for a living? I don't know, maybe as a chef I'm a little spoiled. But something like that doesn't work at all.

We had set out for a cozy evening and had actually made a reservation at the permanent representation next door. Unfortunately our table had already been given away and it was incredibly crowded and loud even though Nancy Faeser had just arrived. So we looked for something else, Brecht's steakhouse near the Berlin ensemble was an option. We were very impressed by the ambience, the peace, the friendliness and the great food. The website promised that you would learn everything about good meat, but unfortunately there was no information or explanation during the tasting. In addition, the à la carte guests sat in the same area as the tasting guests, which didn't exactly make the atmosphere conducive. The corn soup and the starter should be positively highlighted, as they were both excellent in terms of taste and presentation. However, the waiting times were far too long and the overworked staff seemed stressed. The meat was prepared for all tables at the same time, which unfortunately meant that it was served cold. Although the plates were warmed, this could not prevent the quality of the meat from leaving something to be desired. Unfortunately, some pieces were rather fatty, which was disappointing for two of our guests. In addition, the cooking levels were specified, which is not suitable for everyone! For €89 per person you only get around 150g of meat in total, which seems unreasonable compared to the price. As a side dish there was a salad that was unappealing and had dark spots. After dessert, a crème brûlée, which was fine, the guests quickly left the restaurant and it was clear that many were dissatisfied. Another drawback was that neither schnapps nor espresso were offered. Unfortunately, for a total of €600 for five people, we cannot recommend this steak tasting We would also like to mention that the sanitary area in this price segment is in urgent need of renovation

A great restaurant, the atmosphere is particularly nice when you can sit outside in the summer. The staff is attentive and courteous, the food is delicious. We have been there several times and have always left the restaurant very satisfied.

Tenía el ojo seco. No estaba tierno, y también mal cocinado. El servicio era lento. No volveré otra vez. Decepcionado en comparación con mi última visita hace un año.

Vi var 10 stk som var der i fjor, da var alt veldig bra. Årets besøk svarte derfor ikke til forventningene. Noen av oss fikk byttet om rettene. Kjøttet var ikke så bra som i fjor. Det ble servert Rib eye som ikke var Rib eye. Vi ba om varm cream brulee, de sjekket på kjøkkenet og bekreftet at de kunne levere det. Når cream bruleen kom var den kald. Vi hadde forventet bedre kvalitet på kjøttet. Det var også litt rot med regningen

The steakhouse is definitely a steakhouse. The service was super nice, although the young man seemed a bit insecure to me. He mastered the carving perfectly. The steaks were on point. All in all super tasty 😋.

Unfortunately, the service and food were not really convincing. After the orders were placed quickly and the starters arrived quickly. No one showed up for a long time and an hour passed until the main course was on the table. Mind you, there were only two other tables occupied at the time we ordered. For my main course I had a dryage steak. Of the 200g, around 50g remained because it had a tendon running through it in one place and was therefore not edible. Unfortunately, after it was raised, nothing really came back as an answer. At prices like these, you can expect a lot more. We won't be coming back!

If you like meat of the highest quality, this is the place for you. Grilled to perfection as desired.

Amazing Steakhouse Experience! I recently dined at this steakhouse, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The food was absolutely delicious! cooked to perfection with rich flavors that truly made each bite memorable. The steaks were tender and juicy, exactly how they should be. The service was top notch, with attentive and friendly staff who made sure we had everything we needed. It’s clear that they take great pride in providing a fantastic dining experience. I highly recommend this steakhouse to anyone who loves quality food and excellent service. I will definitely be coming back!

30 minute wait Inedible burger Plastic fries

Popped in later in the evening for a small bite. Got this fantastic starter platter for two. We also ordered a side of cheddar cheese fries. The cheese sauce was definitely homemade. So friggin tasty.

We went to this steakhouse for the first time yesterday and all I can say is that it was simply fantastic. The food, the service, the ambience is unique. Keep it up, we'll definitely be back. 😊

It had to be something special for my husband's birthday and since he prefers a really good fillet steak as his favorite dish, Brecht's was my first thought. We were warmly welcomed and served carefully. The food was first class and as a little extra for the birthday child there was a dessert from the chef. A successful evening and a great recommendation

Had a delicious meal here. We had a dry aged platter with Zen 2e. Very good meat. Ultimately we had the feeling that the receipt was incorrect.

Quality, service, ambience, impeccable.

It was my first time at Brechts. The restaurant looks really nice. The service and food was sometimes not good on the day I was there. My cheeseburger was good. However, my friends' food doesn't. The salmon fillet was only half cooked, the steak was too cooked and someone else had to wait for their food because it was forgotten. They wanted to bring new food, but we didn't want that after the long wait. Maybe we had a bad day.

Unfortunately no recommendation. Steaks were perfectly prepared, but the taste was nothing special. The side dishes were also very disappointing, mashed potatoes with truffles and parmesan tasted sour, roasted broccoli was just cooked. The herb butter and chimichurri were inedible. Absolutely not worth the high prices

In front of the Spree river. Very close to the museum island. The food was very good, plenty of it and the waiters served me very well and quickly. The negative point is that there were a lot of people, but I suppose that was precisely because it is a good place. I would have preferred a somewhat quieter atmosphere, but I don't think it's the restaurant's fault. Everyone aspires to be full of customers. My experience was good and I recommend it. The dessert was great!!!

So we can't really explain the sometimes so strong criticism and the really bad reviews 🤔😜. We had booked a candlelight 3-course menu dinner for around 80 euros for 2 people without drinks and were greeted very attentively and friendly with a free sparkling wine from 7 p.m.! The ambience, the candle and the music including the mood and volume were perfect for a candlelight dinner! As a starter there was a wonderful cauliflower soup with a great crunch and some bread, and as a main course there were wonderfully tender ribs with delicious potatoes and homemade raw vegetable coleslaw seasoned with curry and other aromatic herbs. Mind you, these were all decent and not Mickey Mouse portions á la trés haute cuisine which we weren't looking for or wanted! As dessert there was an incredibly delicious crème brulée with incorporated passion fruit that was lovingly caramelized at the table - dessert heart what do you want more 😍👍. We were very impressed, we liked and enjoyed everything so much that it was definitely not the last time we were here! Many thanks to the entire team at Brechts Steakhaus!
