I expected a bit more ambiance. Otherwise, a good steak restaurant in a prime location.

The food arrived after a 90-minute wait and after other guests had already finished. The meat was already cold inside. The side dish was nice, though.

We visited Brechts Steak-Haus in Berlin on November 30th with family members and had a truly excellent evening. Our waiter, Mustafa, looked after us throughout – extremely friendly, attentive, and personable. The sequence of dishes was perfectly coordinated: from the timing to the quality, everything was outstanding! The food arrived at our table in just the right portions and expertly prepared. Overall, a thoroughly enjoyable experience. We would love to return and can wholeheartedly recommend Brechts Steak-Haus, especially with service like Mustafa's!

A truly wonderful restaurant with a lovely atmosphere. We had a four-course candlelit dinner, and everything—from the appetizer to the dessert—was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, only 3 stars. The restaurant itself has a good concept with very attentive and professional service, however, the price/performance ratio of the dishes and the seating arrangements cost it a star. As a couple, you end up sitting at a four-person table (if the few two-person tables are occupied) with another couple and inevitably overhear all conversations. The schnitzel was far too greasy and, at €34, also too small (double the portion is standard in other restaurants). The Caesar salad for €18 looked like it came from a pre-packaged garden salad bag, and the steak tartare, while tasty, was simply far too little for €24. All in all, though, the ambiance is nice; you don't just go out for a meal, you want to have a pleasant evening, but unfortunately, in our opinion, these shortcomings prevent us from returning.

I expected more for the price. The food took 45 minutes to arrive, and only the filet steak was warm; the rump roast and entrecote were quite cold. The ambiance is nice, but it's so crowded that conversation was really difficult. It was almost as noisy as a beer garden. And this was on a weekday!

A really good address in Berlin!

We went to Brecht's Steakhouse with reasonable expectations. Unfortunately, these were disappointed. The food was mediocre. The Chateaubriand was okay to good. The dry-aged steak was a complete disappointment. Not tender at all. At that price, certain standards should be met. We were advised against ordering it medium-rare—in a steakhouse, no less!

We were a group of 7 foreigners, poorly received unlike the other customers, locals, who were served warmly and well before us. When the waitress came, she was unfriendly with a long wait to get the dishes and to order the desserts. We finally left without the desserts that were ordered since the wait was interminable. On the other hand, the dishes were delicious between currywurst and shrimp pasta.

We had a voucher from Jochen Schweizer and opted for the four-course candlelight dinner, something we might not have otherwise indulged in. Arriving there with some skepticism, it was a highlight from start to finish. We received a very friendly welcome, and the table was already set for us. The waiter was perfect; you don't experience that often these days—so friendly and radiating calm. The menu, along with the wine pairing, was a poem. It was a truly wonderful experience, and we'd definitely be happy to treat ourselves to it again. Thank you for that.

Really excellent meat and delicious dishes! Great service, helpful and hospitable, and a lovely restaurant. Not too busy, not too big, and the price-quality ratio is excellent. The spareribs fall right off the bone, and the steak was cooked to the PERFECT temperature and style. Highly recommended!

We set outside but was a little cold. Thankfully there was a blanket and heater. It was very busy night and the service was rather slow & can be a bit more friendly. The atmosphere was lively. It would be good if you visit on a nice summer night.

We had a lovely evening at Brecht's Steakhouse. The service and quality of the food were excellent.

No, in this case, I can't make any recommendations. First, when I entered the restaurant at 2:00 PM, I received a somewhat unfriendly welcome. When I tried to order the day's specials, rump steak with salad and purée, I was told that it wasn't available at that time. When I pointed out to the waiter the sign outside stating "until 2:30 PM," I was told that it was a typo. If you believe it ;-). Postscript: When I passed by on my way back half an hour later, the sign was still there.

We had argentine sirloin steak, wild herb salad and a bottle of malbec. Food was 9/10, service was friendly and professional. The atmospher inside is nice and elegant, but i think the tables by the river are better.

Unfortunately you judge a steak house on its steak.........we had the ribeye, slightly overcooked for medium rare but just a terrible quality cut of beef. Sides were good, €10 for a bottle of water and less than great wine.

We were there with six people on a Thursday evening. The ambiance is fine, weather permitting, sitting outside by the Spree. The staff seemed rather lackluster. Our first order (six garlic baguettes) arrived relatively quickly. After that, we had to wait about 30 minutes for two appetizers (onion soup and garlic baguette). Empty glasses were ignored as we walked by and when the food was served. When we were about to leave after more than an hour, the waitress came over and apologized for the wait, explaining that the chef and kitchen staff were overwhelmed. The place was at most half full. When the food arrived after another ten minutes, we were rather disappointed. If a chicken burger is called "crispy," it should be crispy. My steak was cooked sous vide and therefore okay in terms of doneness, but it was on the Beefer for too long for my taste. Overall, the value for money wasn't good. Unfortunately, the statement that the boss would come up with something to compensate for the long waiting time was not followed up by any action.

A beautiful little restaurant in the heart of Berlin with fantastic food and very friendly staff.

I expected more from Brecht's. The meat quality was good, but it was lacking that certain something, and for the price, I expect more. The plates weren't warm enough, nor were the dishes themselves, but we didn't want to return them because we had to wait a long time for the food. The service was okay, but nothing special. The bottom line was, unfortunately, it wasn't entirely convincing, which is a shame.

Although the restaurant has very good reviews, it unfortunately disappointed us greatly, both with the food and the service. Three of us sat in the garden, ordered appetizers, steaks, desserts, and alcohol, and everything we got was very average. The staff acted as if they were forced to work, with no initiative or customer service. For a restaurant where we spent over 100 euros per person, this was definitely below expectations. I do not recommend it.

Eight of us dined here, and everyone loved it. We opted for the "Share it Steaks" menu for seven people – a great way to sample different cuts together. We also had the Brecht's Steakhouse platter, which was a real highlight with a selection of juicy fillet steak, roast beef, rib-eye, and delicious side dishes like grilled vegetables, potatoes, and homemade dips. The waiter came to our table and sliced ​​the steaks right in front of us, arranging them to perfection – an experience that made the evening even more special. The additional side dishes were also fresh and delicious. To finish off, we treated ourselves to dessert, which is highly recommended and perfectly rounded off a successful evening. Overall, a fantastic experience with great service, first-class steaks, and a cozy atmosphere. A definite 5 stars! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

We were in Berlin yesterday for a hiking day and had 45 minutes to grab something to eat and drink. We chose Brechts Steakhaus – and it was the perfect decision! Despite the short time, we were able to enjoy everything very quickly and with the highest quality. A big thank you to George for the outstanding, flexible, and fast service! He looked after us really well, and the food was simply fantastic. We felt completely at home and would gladly come back. Highly recommended!

We went there on my first ever trip to Berlin and stopped for a quick lunch break. Instantly greeted with a smile, the waiter was incredibly nice and welcoming. The food it self was really good we had a ceaser salad and a linguine pasta with tomato sauce, not the most spectacular dishes in the world but they were made really good! Definitely recommend!

We celebrated my wife's birthday here based on the consistently good reviews. However, Brechts wasn't convincing. The wait for the food was very long, and we can't confirm the quality of the food, which has been repeatedly highlighted here. We ordered our steaks medium-rare, which is standard for a steakhouse. The steaks didn't have a crispy crust, nor were they juicy on the inside, and they were still a bit raw. The meat was more gray than pink. And the steaks were almost cold. The sides were also almost cold, and without a little extra seasoning, they wouldn't have done anything good. For a restaurant in this price range, that's a no-go. Only the service and the ambiance were good, which is why we still enjoyed the evening. And you don't want to cause a scandal on a birthday night.

Monday lunch and wonderful service. Unobtrusive but always there, friendly and professional. Amazing & thank you so much. The steaks were cooked to perfection and very tasty, and I found two of the three sauces to be perfect. The side vegetables were absolutely perfect, and the salad was a real surprise. All in all, a first-class experience and worth every penny. Keep up the good work.

Unfortunately, we waited a very long time for service and drinks (20 minutes) / food (50 minutes), even though it wasn't busy. The meat was okay. The truffled Parmesan mashed potatoes reminded me a lot of mashed cheese spaetzle, as it was garnished with fried onions. Unfortunately, the truffle was barely noticeable. The water glass was forgotten, and a clean one wasn't brought until the third time. The Pornstar Martini was returned once, and even the second time it arrived watery... All in all, we had to wait a very long time for service, and although the location is very beautiful by the water and it's a typical "tourist spot," the prices were clearly too high. A shame :(

The shop is clean and the atmosphere is really nice, especially outside. Our staff was very friendly! I especially recommend the truffle pata and the chimichurry sauce. This goes better with the rump steak than the "pepper sauce." Unfortunately, it tasted bland, like a brown sauce without any pepper. A few more green peppercorns wouldn't have hurt. Unfortunately, you couldn't detect any peppercorns in the sauce.
