Bräustüb'l in Bad Harzburg

The food was very tasty and plentiful. We had a schnitzel with asparagus and cheese. It was incredibly delicious. The salad wasn't that great, but the schnitzel was a dream. 😍

I'm not someone who gets upset about little things when I go to a restaurant. If it takes a while or something else goes wrong, no problem, it just happens. In this case, however, it was a different story: While the order and drinks were relatively quick, there was a long wait for the food. When, after a good hour (especially since we had children with us), we dared to ask the waitress how the food was, the nice lady immediately went into attack mode: The place was full ("half full" would have been more accurate, as several tables were free), so we would just have to be patient, orders would be processed in the order they came in (which was actually true, as the disillusionment was already palpably spreading at the neighboring tables). A wait of over an hour was perfectly acceptable, she thought. The next bitter disappointment came in the form of the food that finally arrived: Kaiserschmarrn and medallions were lukewarm at best, schnitzel only moderately tasty, fries only partially fried and raw inside. When our returned fries were replaced after another 20 minutes – albeit with a sincere apology from the male, much more dedicated waitress – no one had much of an appetite left. If we had been warned at the beginning that the food would take longer, perhaps combined with a small greeting from the liquor aisle or the candy section, everything (apart from the condition of the food) would have been half as bad. However, unprofessional waitresses who argue with guests about reasonable waiting times have almost the opposite effect. Overall, our visit was, unfortunately, an experience we would have gladly avoided.

Even on a rainy day, we felt warmly welcomed at the Braustübl. The hospitality was outstanding, especially the prompt and attentive service of our two small dogs with water and treats – it couldn't be better! The restaurant impresses with its rustic and lovingly decorated interior and remarkable cleanliness. The room layout ensures pleasant privacy. Unobtrusive and beautiful country music in the background further contributed to a very relaxed atmosphere. The food was consistently delicious and plentiful. The varied menu offers a good selection for every taste. The service was always attentive and fast. Even though the price per dish of around €20 is in line with current standards, we found it reasonable given the quality and the overall experience. We would definitely be happy to come back!

Delicious large schnitzels and excellent apple strudel. The Bräustübelpfanne (fried pancakes) is super tasty. Accompanied by a semi-dry wine... Rustic decor and fast, friendly service.

We were able to enjoy Bavarian-style schnitzel with asparagus and salad. Delicious! It was also no problem to swap the fries for salad. And thank you for serving everything in small portions. It's definitely worth a stop here.

Beautiful, rustically furnished and set up restaurant! Good, filling food at a good price. Because Bad Harzburg is a tourist hotspot, it's a little more expensive, but totally reasonable! Everything we had tasted good without exception. Only the butter spaetzle were a bit “too buttery” for me personally, but that’s probably because of the name! :-)

Food is solid, but nothing special. Portions vary greatly for each dish and €2 for each changed side dish is quite steep. But now to the reason why 2 stars are enough. The waitresses almost fell asleep while walking, reordering drinks was only possible after the table was pointed out again and then the empty dishes were not taken away even after they came to the table for the third time. With 6 people it takes up a lot of space. “Never walk an empty path” should be taught to both of them again. We suspected that the head waiter was probably on vacation or sick, because both waitresses were nothing more than temporary workers.

We spontaneously went here for lunch on Wednesday lunchtime. It was very tasty and the service staff was very attentive. We had an asparagus platter to share. It was the ideal size for two people. The meat and asparagus were perfectly prepared.

I had the knuckles. Tastes really good. However, the crust was probably only available with the samurai sword from the Chinese next door 😵‍💫 Maybe the cook had a bad day.

A nice open restaurant. The food was ok, nothing special. Very friendly staff. But the fried potatoes and spaetzle were highly recommended. The prices were good too. For 2 main courses, a few beers and Kaiserschmarrn for 2 for dessert, barely 56 €, that's great.

Hearty. Lush schnitzels and mighty cheese spaetzle. The schnitzel dishes could be a little cheaper, but like the fries they are golden and crispy. It doesn't get much better.

Food itself was really okay. My portion was just a bit small (compared to the others). I had meatloaf with fried eggs and fried potatoes. But it was also a little cheaper. Unfortunately, the big drawback was the service. On the evening we were there (6 people), there wasn't much going on, but the service still seemed to be very overwhelmed. The two men didn't seem to be very experienced and took a long time to do many things. Our finished dishes remained on the table for an extremely long time, even though the waiters often walked past the table. Despite all of this, they were very nice and apologized for the long waiting times. Even though this evening was perhaps just a snapshot and things would have gone better on another day, I unfortunately have to be critical.

We came in the evening and were immediately greeted with the fact that the cook was very behind today. This didn't bother us at first. Drinks were brought quickly, but so much was spilled and everything was left lying there. Without an apology. Less than 5 minutes later the soup arrived. Croutons a little burnt. The main course also came very quickly. Grilled sausages with pü and sauerkraut and gravy. The Pü was a bit salty. Cheese spaetzle a little dry. Salad only came after asking twice. The service seemed a bit overwhelmed and unfortunately the fingernails were a bit dirty. We won't be coming back

Nice atmosphere and nice staff, wishes were fulfilled, but the red cabbage was very sour and the Kaiserschmarren was very bland and dry and the mashed potatoes weren't that digestible either. The coffee was quite thin and not that tasty. The knuckle meat was okay and so were the fried potatoes and schnitzel. All in all we would NOT go there again.

Hello We were at the Bräustüb'l today. We received a very friendly welcome and were given a table according to our wishes. After we took our seats, the waitress came and brought us the menu. After reading briefly we had made our choice. When the waitress came we ordered what we had chosen. The waitress thanked us for the order. After a short time the drinks came, shortly followed by the soup and after a while, about 10 minutes, the food. Soup and pork knuckle pot were very good. What we noticed were two very, very friendly waitresses.

Another excellent meal here with friendly efficient staff, high quality of food, choice of drinks. Very good value for money. I did return here albeit three years later on my return to Bad Harzburg !))👍✅🤣🤣

We had knuckle. This was very tasty and the portions were very good. Unfortunately the fried potatoes weren't crispy enough for me, but that's a matter of taste.

Atmosphere: The decor is pretty traditional Bavarian and the ambience is very cozy. Service: The restaurant was empty and that's why the restaurant owner apparently served me. He was very friendly and accommodating. He also gave me some mustard when I asked. Food: With all my love, I unfortunately have to deduct stars here. I had ordered the pork knuckle pot and after I ordered the dish was served hot in less than 8 minutes, which on the one hand is a big plus in terms of the waiting time. On the other hand, there is concern about whether the dish was freshly prepared if it was served so quickly. The spaetzle and gravy look and taste very much like finished products that were quickly heated and boiled before serving. In terms of taste, the food tasted almost nothing like anything, so contrary to my eating habits I had to add a lot of salt and pepper to taste anything at all. That's also why I asked for mustard so that the food would be better seasoned. The meat was also extremely tasteless. The only thing that tasted okay was the fried egg. In contrast to other German restaurants, the food was very disappointing and absolutely not justified for the price of almost €17. This dish means that, despite the cozy atmosphere and the good service from the employees and the owner, I will not eat and spend my money here again. Too bad.

Unfortunately the food wasn't that good. The red cabbage tasted like it came from a jar and the sauce also tasted like a ready-made sauce. The meat was stringy. The dumplings were okay. Schnitzel stringy, fries good.

Better to book in advance because of the seat

The furnishings are as you would imagine a Bavarian inn in the Harz Mountains. But that was about it in terms of positive impressions. A single service for around 60 guests, we picked up the menu ourselves after waiting 10 minutes, and after changing tables because it was simply too cold in the Queen Luise room, the food arrived. Salad with lower stem sections, butter spaetzle that was probably lying next to the butter, cheese spaetzle that was burnt and the food was almost as cold as the previous room. Oh yes, and at some point the drinks came. One operation is simply not enough and it was only in motion. You couldn't even say that the price justified it all. Next time probably the pizzaria next door.

The free choice of seating was good, as the restaurant has several rooms. The fact that dogs are allowed is also a plus. Unfortunately the food was a weak point. Leberkäse was f...dry, and similarly "not very tasty", gherkin "not available" (but it's on the menu), fried potatoes were a good portion, but had to be heavily seasoned. My wife's baked potatoes with additionally ordered mushrooms weren't a hit either, especially since the salad was hardly fresh (very bland). The currywurst & fries were ok. After a long wait, we had to “ask” the waitress to take our order. But then the service went wrong. I would visit the restaurant again to drink a Bavarian beer.

The waiter gave the impression that he didn't want to do his job. The side salad was completely forgotten. The guests next to us first got their soup, then their main course and then their drinks... I had plastic leftovers in my food... Overall, the food was very tasty. The table was dirty and was only wiped when asked.

One of the worst restaurant experiences in a long time! The service was more than poor. Unfriendly staff and incorrect service on several occasions (wrong, bad food). The food was also a disgrace: the supposed cheese spaetzle turned out to be ribbon noodles bathed in fat and gratinated with cheese. Unfortunately, a night of stomach pain afterwards wasn't a big surprise. When it was pointed out that the spaetzle was unreasonable, the staff responded with a €2 discount??!! What the hell. Not again. Definitely not a recommendation.

Staff very unmotivated, food cold is then warmed up again in the Mirko, the food tasted like ready-made food... nothing special. It's a shame we know it differently...dessert is no longer available at 8:15 p.m. because the kitchen is closed...we had to wait a long time and then heard that there was no dessert...not recommended

I agree with Ms. Deppe's assessment. Buffet at Christmas time for around €40 per person, it's really a performance as nothing from the buffet tastes good. Everything tasted like nothing, it was very dry and everything was COLD. Even when I stood next to it and the chef brought the schnitzels, everything was cold. Our guess is that everything was fried beforehand and then warmed up again through the plates. In addition, there was no sauce at all for the meat and vegetables, I've actually never seen anything like that. At least we were offered a free meal after complaining. Nevertheless, everyone was angry and disappointed. The evening was over.

Despite the lack of staff, nice, attentive service. Unfortunately Haxe was out. Leberkäse was okay but the amount of fried potatoes was a bit sparse. The duck was very cooked/dry. Would probably try again.

Buffet at Christmas time for around €40 per person, it's really a performance as nothing from the buffet tastes good. Everything didn't taste like anything, it was very dry and even the spaghetti Bolognese didn't taste like anything. How do you do that? It didn't taste homemade either. Maybe there was some savings due to the buffet and à la carte would be better or higher quality. That would explain the good reviews. But the people who came after us left before us and didn't even finish drinking. They were also dissatisfied. Everything from Maggi was better out of the bag. Too bad! But the waitresses were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

We were at the Bräustüb’l in the early evening and were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately, there was a problem when eating... First of all, the serving plate was dirty, they said the dishwasher wasn't running, which I don't think is an appropriate reaction. In addition, the schnitzel was extremely dry and the chilli cheese sauce was a total failure and tasted more like a roux. The service itself was quick, but in my opinion the response to the complaint was not appropriate.

Cozy, typically Bavarian interior. Bavarian beer on tap. The knuckle was on the table in 3 minutes. The cold Kaiserschmarrn, exactly divided into cubes, in 2 minutes. The microwave was probably not at full power. :-)

After we sat down at our reserved table, our order was taken straight away. The drinks came quickly. But we had to wait almost an hour for our food. When asked, Bon murmured something wrong. I think they just forgot. Because all the guests around us received their food promptly. We got a salad first. After a short while our food arrived. My Bavaria Schnitzel with fries was okay, the schnitzel was a bit dry. My husband's knuckle was a bit dry. My husband got the fried potatoes in a separate bowl, which was good. But the fried potatoes were really not good. They swam briefly through the pan in the fat. Totally flimsy, soft and very light. Nothing brown or crunchy. My husband tried a fork and I tried one. When clearing away the bowl was full, there wasn't even a question as to whether there was anything wrong with it. On the contrary, people proudly asked if it tasted good. The price-performance ratio is not right here

Everything we ate was just convenience food. Nothing freshly made. It's all just ready-made food. The roast was just warmed up from the day before or completely overcooked. The waiter didn't come until 10 minutes after we sat down.

We visited the Bräustüb'l today, the atmosphere was definitely good and the waiters were friendly and helpful. There were actually only long waiting times for the menu, otherwise drinks and food arrived quickly (although the latter was probably due to the fact that almost everything was convenience). At least the dumplings and red cabbage tasted very similar (I always have the taste of the red cabbage in my mouth hours later). The meat (roast roast), on the other hand, was very tasty and also recommended.

3 people three different dishes. The crusty roast was unfortunately a bit dry, the knuckle was crispy, the spicy roast (I think that's what it was called) was really, really good, dumplings were also great. The potatoes were watery and just not tasty. Service was great at first but then the presence diminished.

The Bräustü'l is located at Goslarische Str. 1A, in 38667 Bad Harzburg. The aforementioned restaurant serves Bavarian schnitzel and pork knuckle, with German beer and traditional wooden furnishings. I drank various beers there and ate half a duck. Both were very delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful, socially competent and very valuable. We had a good meal there! If you're really hungry, you shouldn't miss out on a starter or dessert, because the main course (roast roast) was rather manageable in terms of meat!

The food was very tasty. I had the knuckle, which was buttery soft. However, I have to write something about the service: even though we were almost the only guests, it took 45 minutes before we could place the order and that was only because we made ourselves noticed. Then you got an unfriendly answer from the waiter. My companion wanted to order a second beer. That didn't work for a long time either. The waiter said that he had finally finished and was no longer responsible. The fact that I give 3 stars for the service is entirely thanks to the young waiter, who was really nice and then took over for us.

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and otherwise it is very cozy there, but on my last visit it was very cold and we were freezing 🤨. Short update: on our last visit to the Bräustübl the food was again delicious, as we know it, and it was cozy and warm. There's never been anything to complain about about the service 👌

On the last evening of our family reunion, we made a last-minute reservation for dinner here for nine people. There is plenty of parking space directly behind the restaurant and they had reserved a round table for us in this beautiful Bavarian atmosphere. We were served friendly and quickly and the food and drinks were tasty. The Hax'n in particular were a poem. The only thing that disappointed us was the Kaiserschmarrn dessert, which didn't taste like it was homemade for all three people. Overall, we had a pleasant evening with delicious food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere and would be happy to come back.

Beautiful inn (centrally located in the middle of town) in an absolutely Bavarian style with lots of places. Very friendly staff (despite stress and a lot of activity). The knuckle with red cabbage and dumplings was very tasty. Not too crispy and yet crispy rind. Lean meat was easy to remove from the bone. Red cabbage and dumplings very good. Unfortunately, the devil's schnitzel with a "fiery" sauce wasn't "fiery" at all, but in a sauce that was far too creamy with hardly any pepper and "fire". The side salad was way too small. Something can be improved there. The beer (I had Keller and Oktoberfest beer) was very tasty, but also expensive!

The staff was good. Unfortunately not the food. The gourmet schnitzel, which according to the menu was supposed to be “fried in foaming butter,” came out of the deep fryer. The fries weren't crispy. It was too expensive for the quality.

We were there with a very large group. The food was pre-ordered and arrived quite quickly. It was almost clear to us that not everyone could eat at the same time. The first ones were finished when the last ones at the table got their food. But due to the number of people, this certainly cannot be done any other way and is also okay. The service was very nice and we didn't have to wait long for drinks. The location is neat and clean. What I personally didn't like was the food. Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle really wasn't worth the money. Simple store-bought, fairly dry spaetzle that hasn't seen a pan before, baked with simple cheese and sprinkled with store-bought fried onions. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit here. The price for this dish is clearly too high. Unfortunately, the taste was really not good and it wasn't convincing at all.

Tip: Don't put the two simple pages on the menu until tomorrow!! The whole knuckle was OK, finalized in the deep fryer, that was it Meat is still very tender and juicy. Fried potatoes are out way too early, so I'm more inclined towards potato salad with bacon. The sauce is good and attentive.

Nice ambience, service is courteous, food was good, but the portion (platter for 2) wasn't satisfactory, we would have expected more, only one person can manage the amount of meat alone.

Clearly: mediocre in all respects and too expensive. Leberkäse for 16 euros is steep and “just ok”. Kaiserschmarrn came from the freezer and was really not good, it was “admitted” as such. You can't do it yourself because there aren't enough staff. Then you take that off the menu and don't knowingly send out inferior products.
