First, it's worth mentioning that the service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, this didn't make up for the poor quality of the food. The Obazda (Bavarian cheese spread) was questionable. Everyone makes the recipe differently, but it doesn't include mountain cheese. Independently of each other, my husband and I said it tasted like dish soap. The chicken tasted reheated (my husband is a butcher and knows the difference between fresh and reheated meat very well). The baked potato was okay, but it was drowned in far too much sour cream; you practically had to search for the potato. The accompanying chicken breast was served separately on a plate. If you halved the salad, it would have fit on the plate with the baked potato... It's a shame; we expected more based on the good reviews.

The prices are way too high! I know what all goes into it and what's charged, but this is causing us to get fewer guests! The restrooms need to be checked more often! There was no soap and the paper towel bin was overflowing.

We ate at the restaurant on October 31, 2025. The food was very good, but the service was abysmal! We waited 20 minutes before we could even order. We were completely ignored until the next table complained about an order. The server was stressed and chaotic! They were talking about other guests, which is unacceptable. This made the atmosphere very unpleasant. All in all, the food was great! The rest of the experience is best avoided!

Everything was delicious, minor issues were resolved immediately, and we received a complimentary drink. The service was incredibly fast and the staff very friendly.

We had reserved two tables for the evening around noon. It was quite busy for a Tuesday evening, but then it was the holidays. The beer was okay (Otoberfest), and the food, on the other hand, was very tasty! The only complaint I had was the noise level in the dining room where we were seated. There was a party of twelve people and a table with six. I would have actually preferred a quieter spot, but it certainly accommodated our short notice! All in all, it's a very nice restaurant where you can also enjoy Bavarian specialties.

A great spot to enjoy a Bavarian-style dinner! We ordered the witch's platter (for two people) and were surprised by tender chicken breast, crispy schnitzel, bratwurst, salad with plenty of dressing, and two large baked potatoes in sour cream. The cheese spaetzle with fried onions was also excellent. We'd be happy to go again ☺️✨

Hello. We were there today with 13 people and a dog. Nice atmosphere, friendly service. The food was brought to everyone at the same time. It tasted more like a filling dish, so it was very tasty. The chicken and trout were rather mediocre. The Kaiserschmarrn was more like a thick pancake or egg cake (depending on where you come from). I'm full now and not dissatisfied, but not in raving mode either. Maybe it's the chef's fault, because other reviews would be very good. That's it for today. Bye bye!

Ambience: Large and cozy restaurant The service was extremely friendly and, even considering it was quite busy, served really quickly. The food was truly delicious, and the portions were large and filling. Location: Fairly central with on-site parking.

Unfortunately, our meal requests were already sold out by 6:30 PM on October 3, 2025. We received a replacement dish. The meat was tough and very dry, the sauce lacked flavor, the red cabbage was sour, and the pancake soup tasted very strongly of beef. We didn't like the replacement dish. Everyone actually wanted the roast pork. We'll try again when we're in Bad Harzburg. The service was excellent and the ambiance is perfect.

The three of us ate here, and for €80, we were all pretty full. The Oktoberfest beer, in particular, was very good!

To celebrate German Unity Day, we stopped off at this Bavarian inn with plenty of wood and, thanks to a reservation, made it easy to enjoy it. My initial skepticism about Bavarian specialties prepared outside of Bavaria quickly vanished. Not only my inn roast, but also the other dishes satisfied everyone. A wide selection of drinks rounded out the experience. A very, very pleasant evening.

Good evening, Today (October 9th) the two of us went to the Bräustüb'l for dinner (8 p.m.). The service itself was okay. Friendly, attentive, and quick. Unfortunately, things got problematic during the meal. First, we were told AFTER ordering that they were unfortunately out of cheese spaetzle. That can happen, of course, but prior notice would have been a bit more lenient, or at least a small compensation on the house would have been appreciated. We opted for the baked potato instead. It was okay, but unfortunately too small. Worse was that I ended up finding the thumb-length stump of a cabbage in the salad, and there was far too little sour cream. The €8.10 markup for the granita goat cheese would have been quite steep as well 😅 All in all, it was unfortunately a used meal. We would have liked to report the whole thing in person, but since they didn't even ask if everything was okay afterward, feedback was apparently not desired. So this review serves more as a reminder to others.

We visited the Bräustübl in Bad Harzburg with our dog. It's great that dogs are welcome here – we were given a water bowl for our four-legged friend as soon as we arrived. The food was okay, nothing special, but the portions were absolutely sufficient. I would particularly like to highlight the staff: very friendly, attentive, and committed to making you feel comfortable. Overall, a nice visit if you're looking for a cozy place to eat.

We were our first guests and received mediocre food. We requested the roast pork extra crispy, and the waitress confirmed this. Unfortunately, the roast was drowned in gravy, and the crust was inedible, as it wasn't served as requested. It's a shame, because the reminder after serving only elicited a shrug from the waitress. Unfortunately, the chicken was quite dry, and the meatloaf was rather plain. All in all, 3 stars from us.

Well, what can I say... The schnitzels tasted like the edge of an envelope, and mine wasn't cooked through. For the price, that's not that great. However, the schnitzel was taken off the bill, so you can't complain about the service.

Very nice service, the young man was very friendly and relaxed. The food was very dry and didn't seem freshly cooked. It also came extremely quickly, and it seemed a bit reheated. Given the size of the restaurant, that's no surprise; it's designed for parties and large groups, but the taste shouldn't suffer as a result.

We had dinner early. The service was super friendly, even to our dog. They immediately offered us a water bowl and let us choose our seats. Overall, the service was fantastic and very attentive. The food was good, traditional southern German cuisine, though unfortunately, it didn't stand out from other restaurants. Unfortunately, there was no way to pay by card for tips; this is no longer in keeping with the times.

I haven't had such a bad meal in a long time: fries were soft and soggy, schnitzel topped with cheese (the cheese must have burned in the pan), sausages only cooked on one side. And everything was lukewarm. Absolutely not recommended in my opinion. A waste of money.

Super friendly, attentive, and courteous staff – very refreshing! We had cheese spaetzle, brathändl (a kind of sausage), Leberkäse (a kind of meatloaf), Bräustübl (a kind of pancake with a fried egg), and apple strudel and Kaiserschmarrn (a kind of pancake with a fried pancake). All the dishes were freshly prepared and tasted absolutely delicious. Great atmosphere and therefore a definite recommendation!

The food today (September 26, 2025) was unfortunately not a masterpiece from the kitchen. We had the Alpine and Bavarian schnitzel with fried potatoes. The meat was dry, despite the breading, and sparsely baked. Cheese was only in the middle of the schnitzel. The fried potatoes were partially burnt, and the ham inside was completely burnt. The side salad came without dressing this time. The service was very good and handled the situation professionally. It's a shame that the service has to pay the price for the chef's obvious incompetence. Several tables also complained about the food during our stay.

The staff was mostly rude, bad-tempered, and ignorant. Considering the relatively small portions and poor quality, the food was far too expensive. My lukewarm cheese spaetzle consisted of nothing more than pre-made spaetzle, which was very oily and sprinkled with only a little cheese and presumably store-bought fried onions. The drinks were also significantly overpriced compared to the surrounding restaurants.

The Bräustübe'l is truly worth an evening, or two. The place was packed, and service was reduced to two people due to a lack of staff. At first, you think this isn't going to be a success, but then you have Kevin & (I don't know the bartender's last name, unfortunately) serving. The two guys practically flew through the restaurant without getting stressed. I wish I had employees like them. Attentive and friendly to everyone, every wish was fulfilled, and the evening was a complete success. The food was very good and perfectly cooked. The next evening, we went back without hesitation and didn't regret it for a second. Greetings from the three vintage car drivers.

We have tried to have food and drinks here for the past few days and each time turned away and told fully booked despite there being lots of empty tables with no reserved signs on them. Very disappointed, we're looking forward to eating here

Great Braustübl food. We sat inside with our dog, but we could have sat outside. The food was excellent and the ambiance was lovely and rustic. Parking is available within walking distance on a side street diagonally across the street.

The food was good. However, we had to wait over 30 minutes. Many guests who arrived after us had received their food before us and were already finished. We were quite surprised.

We wanted to go out to dinner with my girlfriend in the evening, it was unfriendly, probably they thought that younger people would be okay with it, but the service was terrible and they took a very long time to take orders, write down two teas, the waitresses had to stand embarrassedly at the table for several minutes, our Kaiserschmarrn was completely dry and tasteless 👎

Visited during our vacation. My wife's blueberry schnitzel was quite dry—it seemed like it wasn't freshly prepared. My knuckle of pork had a wobbly crust rather than a crispy one—I've had better experiences in other Bavarian restaurants. The service was attentive and friendly.

We ate at the Braustübl today for lunch, 2x venison goulash with spaetzle or croquettes, 2 children's schnitzels with a choice of croquettes or spaetzle!!! The venison goulash was way too salty, the meat dry, probably frozen! I sent it back! My daughter wanted to eat it despite it not tasting good! I ordered a Kaiserschmarrn instead, probably also a ready meal! The children's schnitzels were pre-breaded and barely cooked!! What's so difficult about frying a fresh, home-breaded schnitzel?? €71 paid for food that's not even fit for the trash!! I don't understand it??? That's how you drive your customers away!!! We certainly won't eat there a second time!! Maybe there are still enough people throwing their money away! It's a real shame!! Nice young people, the atmosphere could stay the same, but the food!!!! Noooo

We each had a schnitzel here, one with chanterelle mushrooms and one with a creamy mushroom sauce. The service was very attentive. He asked if my partner's shandy was okay with the ratio, or if she wanted more Sprite. I rarely experience servers being interested in whether the shandy had the right mix, as everyone drinks their shandy differently. The meal itself was great; the schnitzels were cooked to perfection, and the breading was very tasty. The side salad was also very colorful. If we're ever here again, we'll be back👍

Many Bavarian restaurants could learn a thing or two from the knuckle of pork. Very tasty and reasonably priced, which unfortunately can't be said for the beer. It's a shame there's only a small terrace facing the street.

The restaurant is beautifully rustic, with friendly staff. It's very busy because the food is great value for money. However, as is the case everywhere, there's not enough staff. The manager can't do anything about it. Be understanding and enjoy. Best regards. P.S.: Reservations are important.

The service is fast and friendly, the ambiance is quite Bavarian with lots of wood, and the layout of the large dining room makes it quite pleasant. But if the fine pancake soup is served in a small cup, without pancake strips, and with an old baguette, then something is wrong with the kitchen, and the waiting staff could easily notice and reject it in the kitchen. The knuckle of pork, on the other hand, was large and well-cooked, but the fried potatoes were unfortunately not crispy.

We were there yesterday, despite the Festival of Lights, and were greeted quickly. We'd like to thank you again for the friendly and helpful service. The food was very good and served quickly. We can't agree with the negative reviews at all. You should look around first, because the staff in large restaurants are also busy and can't be there immediately, although they try to do so anyway. Our thanks for the warmth; we'll be happy to come back.

Service was quick, good and super friendly...my girlfriend had Leberkäse...as a Dutch person I had never eaten it before but it was delicious...I had Obazda...was also delicious...but I should have taken the small portion because the large portion was just too much.

One star is already too many for us. There are no stars for this place!!! Four of us arrived two hours before closing time. We didn't have a table reservation, but after a short wait, we were shown to a free table. After a while, the waitress came and asked if we had a reservation... the same man, by the way, who had shown us to our table earlier... and then said he was sorry but we couldn't stay. He thought we were part of the other group, which was sitting two tables away, which is understandable. The place wasn't full. That was the absolute cheek; we will definitely not be going to this place again.

We ate there during the last week of our vacation. We were drawn to Braustübl by the fact that it had a beer garden and the good reviews. Beer garden??? I think it's a bit bold to call a small balcony or terrace a beer garden. Regardless, it was very cozy inside, and the staff was friendly. The food arrived just five minutes after ordering. It tasted okay, but nothing was freshly prepared; it was frozen. The same was true of the neighboring tables.

The food is rather average and the kitchen remains cold after 8 p.m.

I ordered half a roast chicken. The menu said "freshly flown in," but it was anything but fresh. The skin was burnt, the meat was dry and barely cuttable, and it tasted stale and reheated. I complained, but they just "laughed at it." I wouldn't recommend the restaurant.

Beautiful, rustic restaurant. But then: Despite having made a reservation weeks in advance, we got a table in the very back. At least, thanks to my grumbling, we were given a table in the "Stube" (parlor). First, the pancake soup. Totally oversalted, a shame. For my main course, I had the schnitzel with fries. Okay, you can't really go wrong. It was tasty, but nothing more. My partner had a baked potato. It was drowned in sour sauce. All in all, the restaurant lacked ambiance. Music ranging from the Toten Hosen to Die Ärzte. Not exactly what you'd expect... We wouldn't really recommend it, but it's a matter of taste :-)

I've never eaten such a dry knuckle of pork. The fried potatoes were also a disaster. Charred onions and bacon. The homemade gravy was watery and flavorless. The service was friendly and quick.

The fries were unsalted, the fried potatoes were undercooked, and the side salad was old, with brown spots where the cut edges were. You pay extra for an alternative side dish... If everything had been fresh, I'd gladly give it more stars...

Lured by the many positive reviews, we stopped here. Unfortunately, we cannot confirm the quality of the dishes we chose. The venison goulash with red cabbage resembled a ragout of mushrooms, some meat, and warmed-over red cabbage. It was topped with unkind, hard croquettes. The knuckle of pork with sauerkraut was very dry, but with some very warm wine, it was alright. Unfortunately, we cannot recommend this restaurant.

Our experience began with waiting in the dining room for five minutes with no staff anywhere in sight. Even more guests arrived, and we waited together. Normally, I would have left, but after the exhausting day and the good reviews, we waited. The table service was very friendly. However, we later had to wait a long time at the bar because the cash machine was broken. During this time, I found the service staff's attitude somewhat unpleasant and inappropriate, as they were talking about other guests. The schnitzel was very dry, and the fries were definitely standard frozen fries. The salad and dressing were also nothing special. My wife's Nuremberg sausages were rather lukewarm, and the sauerkraut (far too much, in comparison) was only warm in one spot and cold elsewhere. The mashed potatoes were okay.

The food is of very good quality, although there are occasional slight timing issues (food not 100% warm), but the taste is very good; we'd happily return. Highly recommended nonetheless. We wanted to have dinner and stopped by the Braustübl in the late afternoon. Unfortunately, I wasn't impressed. The waitress was trying hard. We ordered a light and a dark wheat beer, along with a buttered pretzel and a Wiener Schnitzel + a devil's schnitzel. The pretzel came before the drinks and, although freshly baked, was nothing special.... Our schnitzels were probably, as is often the case, deep-fried, unfortunately a bit dry. The side salads weren't good, ice-cold, the dressing had no flavor, and we had collapsed fries on top, along with a huge clump of iceberg lettuce with yellow spots. For me, the salad had been refrigerated for hours. The best part was my devil's sauce.... unfortunately, an indefinable, probably béchamel sauce with 19 green peppercorns..... the fiery flavor, as described on the menu, was probably something the devil himself had consumed 😵‍💫 I find the prices for all of this. I think it's a bit too high. And not accepting a tip for card payments in 2025 is a joke, I think.... 🤷🤔 It's a shame, I was hoping for more with 4.7 stars 😐
