Bräustüb'l in Bad Harzburg

Found the place through a Google search. My girlfriend and I were very satisfied. The food and atmosphere were very pleasant, and the staff was very friendly and not intrusive. All the best to you!

Better to book in advance because of the seat

The furnishings are as you would imagine a Bavarian inn in the Harz Mountains. But that was about it in terms of positive impressions. A single service for around 60 guests, we picked up the menu ourselves after waiting 10 minutes, and after changing tables because it was simply too cold in the Queen Luise room, the food arrived. Salad with lower stem sections, butter spaetzle that was probably lying next to the butter, cheese spaetzle that was burnt and the food was almost as cold as the previous room. Oh yes, and at some point the drinks came. One operation is simply not enough and it was only in motion. You couldn't even say that the price justified it all. Next time probably the pizzaria next door.

The free choice of seating was good, as the restaurant has several rooms. The fact that dogs are allowed is also a plus. Unfortunately the food was a weak point. Leberkäse was f...dry, and similarly "not very tasty", gherkin "not available" (but it's on the menu), fried potatoes were a good portion, but had to be heavily seasoned. My wife's baked potatoes with additionally ordered mushrooms weren't a hit either, especially since the salad was hardly fresh (very bland). The currywurst & fries were ok. After a long wait, we had to “ask” the waitress to take our order. But then the service went wrong. I would visit the restaurant again to drink a Bavarian beer.

Very, nice host, nice ambience and the food is just a pub that could be pimped up a bit. For today's time, but still delicious.

The waiter gave the impression that he didn't want to do his job. The side salad was completely forgotten. The guests next to us first got their soup, then their main course and then their drinks... I had plastic leftovers in my food... Overall, the food was very tasty. The table was dirty and was only wiped when asked.

One of the worst restaurant experiences in a long time! The service was more than poor. Unfriendly staff and incorrect service on several occasions (wrong, bad food). The food was also a disgrace: the supposed cheese spaetzle turned out to be ribbon noodles bathed in fat and gratinated with cheese. Unfortunately, a night of stomach pain afterwards wasn't a big surprise. When it was pointed out that the spaetzle was unreasonable, the staff responded with a €2 discount??!! What the hell. Not again. Definitely not a recommendation.

Staff very unmotivated, food cold is then warmed up again in the Mirko, the food tasted like ready-made food... nothing special. It's a shame we know it differently...dessert is no longer available at 8:15 p.m. because the kitchen is closed...we had to wait a long time and then heard that there was no dessert...not recommended

I agree with Ms. Deppe's assessment. Buffet at Christmas time for around €40 per person, it's really a performance as nothing from the buffet tastes good. Everything tasted like nothing, it was very dry and everything was COLD. Even when I stood next to it and the chef brought the schnitzels, everything was cold. Our guess is that everything was fried beforehand and then warmed up again through the plates. In addition, there was no sauce at all for the meat and vegetables, I've actually never seen anything like that. At least we were offered a free meal after complaining. Nevertheless, everyone was angry and disappointed. The evening was over.

Despite the lack of staff, nice, attentive service. Unfortunately Haxe was out. Leberkäse was okay but the amount of fried potatoes was a bit sparse. The duck was very cooked/dry. Would probably try again.

Buffet at Christmas time for around €40 per person, it's really a performance as nothing from the buffet tastes good. Everything didn't taste like anything, it was very dry and even the spaghetti Bolognese didn't taste like anything. How do you do that? It didn't taste homemade either. Maybe there was some savings due to the buffet and à la carte would be better or higher quality. That would explain the good reviews. But the people who came after us left before us and didn't even finish drinking. They were also dissatisfied. Everything from Maggi was better out of the bag. Too bad! But the waitresses were very friendly and the atmosphere was nice.

We were at the Bräustüb’l in the early evening and were warmly welcomed. Unfortunately, there was a problem when eating... First of all, the serving plate was dirty, they said the dishwasher wasn't running, which I don't think is an appropriate reaction. In addition, the schnitzel was extremely dry and the chilli cheese sauce was a total failure and tasted more like a roux. The service itself was quick, but in my opinion the response to the complaint was not appropriate.

Great Bavarian flair. But when we visited, the Stübl was very busy, which had an impact on the service and the food.

Cozy, typically Bavarian interior. Bavarian beer on tap. The knuckle was on the table in 3 minutes. The cold Kaiserschmarrn, exactly divided into cubes, in 2 minutes. The microwave was probably not at full power. :-)

After we sat down at our reserved table, our order was taken straight away. The drinks came quickly. But we had to wait almost an hour for our food. When asked, Bon murmured something wrong. I think they just forgot. Because all the guests around us received their food promptly. We got a salad first. After a short while our food arrived. My Bavaria Schnitzel with fries was okay, the schnitzel was a bit dry. My husband's knuckle was a bit dry. My husband got the fried potatoes in a separate bowl, which was good. But the fried potatoes were really not good. They swam briefly through the pan in the fat. Totally flimsy, soft and very light. Nothing brown or crunchy. My husband tried a fork and I tried one. When clearing away the bowl was full, there wasn't even a question as to whether there was anything wrong with it. On the contrary, people proudly asked if it tasted good. The price-performance ratio is not right here

Everything we ate was just convenience food. Nothing freshly made. It's all just ready-made food. The roast was just warmed up from the day before or completely overcooked. The waiter didn't come until 10 minutes after we sat down.

We visited the Bräustüb'l today, the atmosphere was definitely good and the waiters were friendly and helpful. There were actually only long waiting times for the menu, otherwise drinks and food arrived quickly (although the latter was probably due to the fact that almost everything was convenience). At least the dumplings and red cabbage tasted very similar (I always have the taste of the red cabbage in my mouth hours later). The meat (roast roast), on the other hand, was very tasty and also recommended.

3 people three different dishes. The crusty roast was unfortunately a bit dry, the knuckle was crispy, the spicy roast (I think that's what it was called) was really, really good, dumplings were also great. The potatoes were watery and just not tasty. Service was great at first but then the presence diminished.

The Bräustü'l is located at Goslarische Str. 1A, in 38667 Bad Harzburg. The aforementioned restaurant serves Bavarian schnitzel and pork knuckle, with German beer and traditional wooden furnishings. I drank various beers there and ate half a duck. Both were very delicious. The staff is very friendly, helpful, socially competent and very valuable. We had a good meal there! If you're really hungry, you shouldn't miss out on a starter or dessert, because the main course (roast roast) was rather manageable in terms of meat!

The restaurant was beautifully decorated for Christmas and otherwise it is very cozy there, but on my last visit it was very cold and we were freezing 🤨. Short update: on our last visit to the Bräustübl the food was again delicious, as we know it, and it was cozy and warm. There's never been anything to complain about about the service 👌

The food was very tasty. I had the knuckle, which was buttery soft. However, I have to write something about the service: even though we were almost the only guests, it took 45 minutes before we could place the order and that was only because we made ourselves noticed. Then you got an unfriendly answer from the waiter. My companion wanted to order a second beer. That didn't work for a long time either. The waiter said that he had finally finished and was no longer responsible. The fact that I give 3 stars for the service is entirely thanks to the young waiter, who was really nice and then took over for us.

On the last evening of our family reunion, we made a last-minute reservation for dinner here for nine people. There is plenty of parking space directly behind the restaurant and they had reserved a round table for us in this beautiful Bavarian atmosphere. We were served friendly and quickly and the food and drinks were tasty. The Hax'n in particular were a poem. The only thing that disappointed us was the Kaiserschmarrn dessert, which didn't taste like it was homemade for all three people. Overall, we had a pleasant evening with delicious food and drinks in a pleasant atmosphere and would be happy to come back.

Beautiful inn (centrally located in the middle of town) in an absolutely Bavarian style with lots of places. Very friendly staff (despite stress and a lot of activity). The knuckle with red cabbage and dumplings was very tasty. Not too crispy and yet crispy rind. Lean meat was easy to remove from the bone. Red cabbage and dumplings very good. Unfortunately, the devil's schnitzel with a "fiery" sauce wasn't "fiery" at all, but in a sauce that was far too creamy with hardly any pepper and "fire". The side salad was way too small. Something can be improved there. The beer (I had Keller and Oktoberfest beer) was very tasty, but also expensive!

The staff was good. Unfortunately not the food. The gourmet schnitzel, which according to the menu was supposed to be “fried in foaming butter,” came out of the deep fryer. The fries weren't crispy. It was too expensive for the quality.

Unfortunately, the cheese spaetzle really wasn't worth the money. Simple store-bought, fairly dry spaetzle that hasn't seen a pan before, baked with simple cheese and sprinkled with store-bought fried onions. The price-performance ratio doesn't fit here. The price for this dish is clearly too high. Unfortunately, the taste was really not good and it wasn't convincing at all.

A great little restaurant with Bavarian flair. I was greeted very nicely, seated and served quickly. The food was very tasty. The chanterelle soup was a real treat and deserves special mention. I was very satisfied. This restaurant is definitely worth a visit.

Hearty restaurant with a penchant for Bavarian food. After issuing the menu: "Our Oktoberfest dishes that are on the menu are only valid tomorrow). Tip: Don't put the two simple pages on the menu until tomorrow!! The whole knuckle was OK, finalized in the deep fryer, that was it Meat is still very tender and juicy. Fried potatoes are out way too early, so I'm more inclined towards potato salad with bacon. The sauce is good and attentive.

Nice ambience, service is courteous, food was good, but the portion (platter for 2) wasn't satisfactory, we would have expected more, only one person can manage the amount of meat alone.

Clearly: mediocre in all respects and too expensive. Leberkäse for 16 euros is steep and “just ok”. Kaiserschmarrn came from the freezer and was really not good, it was “admitted” as such. You can't do it yourself because there aren't enough staff. Then you take that off the menu and don't knowingly send out inferior products.

We were at the Braustüb'l last week. As far as I can tell, my Wiener-style schnitzel came from the deep fryer and was relatively dry. The fried potatoes weren't crispy, but unfortunately they were too salty. The salad consisted of a sliced ​​small cherry tomato, a slice of cucumber and lots of iceberg lettuce, the cut edges of which were brown. Visually collected leftovers The dressing was approx. 1 tbsp of white ready-made dressing. When I honestly answered the waiter's question about how it tasted, he also spontaneously rated the side salad as "old". I know the Braustüb'l from many previous stays in the Harz. This time it was a complete disappointment. You really shouldn't serve such quality to a guest.

Starters were not served at all or were served with the main course, the baked potato had to be returned, it was inedible, the next potato was out of the microwave, there was only one waiter for all the guests at dinner time of 5:30 p.m. He was “slightly” overwhelmed. Well, I've eaten much better. I had the knuckle pot! The knuckle meat and the sauce that went with it tasted metallic. My guess is that it was a canned dish and it was probably heated in the can. If that is the case, then the relationship between price and performance is not commensurate.

We spontaneously got a place for Wednesday evening. The prices are already set quite high. The food was delicious and we were happy with it, but the plate looked incredibly bland and immediately gave you a disappointing feeling. We would eat somewhere else next time.

We had dinner there this evening. I haven't eaten so badly in a long time... unfortunately 😔 4 dishes...everything except the fries were warmed up. The lettuce had already turned very brown and had probably been sitting for a long time. The knuckle was not only crispy, which is normal, but so hard on the outside that you couldn't even bite into some parts. All in all not good......really a shame...we don't need that on vacation...and not exactly cheap!

The Braustübl in Bad Harzburg offers down-to-earth and solid Bavarian cuisine! The dish I consumed(triggered Knuckle meat with butter spaetzle and fried egg) was good, but not outstanding! The service was very friendly and experienced and the prices were in line with local standards! It is worth mentioning that the restaurant is open continuously from 12 to 9 p.m., which is rare for this area and was certainly therefore busy on a normal weekday around 3 p.m.! You can relax on the terrace and eat and drink in peace and quiet!

Went there for dinner in the evening for a little weekend trip. The food was super tasty and enough to fill you up! The service seemed a little stressed to me, but that wasn't that bad because the store was really full. But highly recommended! Unfortunately the prices are quite expensive but where isn't that nowadays :)

The cheese spaetzle was almost tasteless and lacked spices. The price is significantly overpriced. The restaurant is inaccessible to wheelchair users, toilet behind a long tiled staircase downstairs! Accessible to people with disabilities looks different.

No home-made salad, let alone sauce, fries were unfortunately out of date, but in return, top schnitzel, spaetzle from the package and the cheese was a big question mark in terms of taste. Please at least make the salad and the sauce yourself 🙏

Basically ok. Ambience quite harmonious, clean, air-conditioned. The portions were also reasonably large. Unfortunately, the schnitzels gave the impression of frozen goods; In any case, they didn't seem fresh and looked more like they were at a rest stop. The knuckle meat had very little sauce, but was quite juicy and tasted ok. The whole presentation on the plate was rather bland and functional at best. Overall, it's ok if you want to be full and don't have any special expectations.

The reserved table was beautifully set up for two people for their 70th birthday. We were warmly welcomed and served. Our food tasted very good. Kudos to the chef. 🧑‍🍳 We were there for dinner again, without a reservation, around 1:30 p.m. Everything was again to our satisfaction Saturday parking a little away. Very tasty schnitzel with chanterelles, Löwenbräu with it, what more could you want This year in June, the food was bad, fillets were still ok, cream sauce was more like a soup, the spaetzle looked like spaghetti. The food was average. The knuckle wasn't particularly juicy and the meat was very firm, I know that differently. The schnitzels were also very dry and looked like frozen goods. However, the children's plates were very generously filled and the kids enjoyed it.

Good Bavarian home cooking, nice atmosphere.

The three of us spontaneously ate at this restaurant. The atmosphere is rustic and cozy, but it didn't quite suit my taste. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The beer was good and the food was freshly prepared and tasty. You could clearly taste the butter in which the schnitzel was fried, and the knuckle was so well cooked that the bone easily separated from the meat. Overall I would recommend the restaurant and will return on my next visit to the area.

We discovered the bräustüb'l during our vacation in Bad Harzburg. Something slightly hidden on a side street. But still findable. We went in. We asked for a seat and were shown our table. However, it is advisable to call and reserve in advance! Drinks and food would be ordered. Everything actually came quite quickly. Staff was friendly too. But the most important thing is the food. Which was really really tasty. Actually, we would have loved to come over for dinner every day. But the others in town also wanted to try it. So there was still a second visit. Which was again very good. Try it out. Let it taste good too. Have fun.

The food was always very good. That's why we ate here three times. Service was also great. Our dogs got water and even treats from a very nice waitress. Some people just have it.

Due to the lack of alternatives in the city, we ended up here with a larger group, mostly vegetarians. Our waiter was super nice and attentive, but the vegetarian dishes were tiny portions for >15€ (the meat dishes at the neighboring table were massive) and unfortunately tasted like they came from a can. It's OK to focus on meat dishes due to the target group, but then maybe the price for the hungry veggies will be a few euros cheaper :)

Unfortunately I wasn't satisfied. A gourmet platter for €53.99 for two people. There were a total of 8 sticks of asparagus, a few potatoes that looked like they were from the day before, the meat was okay except for the fillet, which also looked like it had been warmed up. I would have expected more for the money.

We had dinner in this restaurant with friends on Ascension Day 2024. The table allocated after reservation for four people was very small. A request for a change with a rude comment is possible. (We were the only guests at that time). Eating impossible: overpriced for poor quality. Fries old and cold, spaetzle unrecognizable as such, schnitzel dry and cold. We are in Bad Harzburg very often, we will avoid this restaurant. Not recommended, but the atmosphere is very nice.

The service really left a lot to be desired. However, the food was quite good.

The main course, Braustüb"l pan, was the size of a starter and the quality was so bad (Tütenspätzle), but the price was really expensive, and last but not least, you get cheated on the bill and get 0.2 drink and 0.4 is charged. In Bavaria they would be ashamed of such a place. The Braustüb"l is an absolute tourist rip-off in Bad Harzburg and not recommended in any way.

Delicious food and very nice staff

We've been to the Bräustüb'l several times and always think it's great, the very friendly service, the restaurant's facilities and the great dishes. We would like to come again!

We received a very friendly welcome, but unfortunately the service got worse and worse as the evening went on. We would like to order dessert and more drinks (for 4 people). However, we were never able to place this order, even after asking at the counter whether someone could take our order again. Nobody really came anymore. In the end we (together with the neighboring table) went to the counter to pay, because it felt like no one wanted that either. The food was really okay, but we were ultimately disappointed with the service.
