A spontaneous afternoon visit... My dog ​​was immediately seated near the counter. The very friendly, efficient, and well-coordinated service staff took turns providing us with everything we wanted incredibly quickly – and the dog didn't miss out either... 😉 Delicious Alt and tasty snacks in the best atmosphere. Highly recommended! Thank you so much, and hopefully see you soon in the Lower Rhine region.

Food portion not so big. The waiter ignored us half of the time. Will not return.

A very, very, very bad experience. Avoid it! The wait staff were busy arguing. After finally taking our order, the pork shoulder was ice cold. Ice cold! Ice cold! We ordered three pork shoulder shoulder portions, all the same. At the end, when we paid, they told me I could have two free pork shoulder portions. I asked, "Do you think the remaining one is warm?" Avoid it!

Nice brewery restaurant with decent food. I've eaten there several times and have always been satisfied. However, the service leaves something to be desired. The waitress was completely overwhelmed with very few tables occupied, especially in the afternoon.

The food and beer are consistently delicious. It's far from the center of Düsseldorf, but I used to frequent this place when I was stationed there because it was close to my house. The beer was fresh and tasty, and the food was also very good. I've eaten Hakuse at many places, but the flavor here is not too strong and is delicious. I'd definitely like to stop by again if I visit Düsseldorf again.

Today we were at the brewery for a company dinner. We received a very friendly welcome, the proprietor is a very accommodating host, and his daughter Alexandra is the complete opposite and an absolute asset. Unfortunately, we were a bit disappointed... but first the good stuff: the service was exceptionally good, friendly, and quick, despite it being a Saturday night. The light beer was fresh, well-chilled, and delicious. The atmosphere was very cozy. But when we ordered, our food arrived in less than two minutes... the plates were piping hot, as if the entire meal had been reheated. The fried potatoes and the Wiener schnitzel were swimming in fat and were already burnt in some places. The potato pieces in the mashed potatoes from heaven and earth weren't quite cooked through. The cucumber salad didn't taste like much. Maybe we just had a bad day or ordered the wrong thing, but we were really hoping for more. We ended up taking the rest with us. The photo clearly shows that this has nothing to do with a Wiener schnitzel. And that for 30 euros...

Accomodating, and overall just a nice experience. Didn't really remember much about the beer tho.

Brewery, excellent food, friendly staff Reservations are essential

An authentic location with a lovely atmosphere. They brew their own Altbier here, but I personally didn't particularly enjoy it. The food was delicious.

We were here for dinner with nine people. Conclusion: I don't need it anymore. The service was terrible. The waitress was more concerned with standing at the bar and chatting with guests than with doing his job. The food was just standard fare. After everyone had finished their drinks, we waited another 20 minutes before paying.

Delicious, the flavors are well seasoned and the meat is tender! The craft beer is delicious.

Cozy brewery atmosphere, menu not huge but top-notch, prices perfectly reasonable, very good house beer (my recommendation: brass), and we had very friendly and attentive service. You have to plan on waiting a bit if you want to sit outside, as reservations aren't available. At 10 p.m., the outdoor area has to be cleared out of consideration for the neighbors, but the interior is just as cozy. We waited 10 minutes until a table became available and had a very pleasant evening. We'll definitely be back.

This brewery is simply something very special. The beer is incredibly delicious and stands out from all the others in terms of taste – you immediately notice the quality and attention to detail. The selection of beers is excellent, and each variety has its own unique, special flavor. The food is also always delicious – whether small snacks or larger meals, everything is just right here. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, and you immediately feel at home. What makes this place truly unique, however, is the family and team, who take care of everything with such kindness and attention. You receive a warm welcome and feel completely well looked after. I have brought my family from abroad and friends visiting my husband and me in Düsseldorf here several times – and every time, everyone is delighted and completely satisfied. It's always a wonderful experience! To avoid having to wait for a table upon arrival, we recommend making a reservation in advance. We will definitely be back soon!

We've enjoyed eating there often for decades. Unfortunately, today, after a long time, we discovered that the food, such as the Jägerschnitzel, was back to its normal size, but it was made of nothing but pomade. Absolutely overpriced. The restaurant is only surviving on its past good reputation. Such a shame ☹️

Friendly service, you have to give them that. The food: okay, the grill pan was swimming in grease, which killed the flavor. Fried potatoes: almost crispy on the outside, mushy on the inside. Unfortunately, not so great. Otherwise, a typical Rhineland brewery atmosphere with a hint of an industrial ruin in a concrete shell, in the middle of a busy street.

The food is good, but nothing special. Prices are on the high side. The ambiance, at least in the courtyard, isn't particularly appealing. It's nicer inside.

A good restaurant where you can enjoy a meal and a delicious home-brewed beer. All the dishes we've tried so far have been delicious, but our favorite is the knuckle of pork. The crispy roasted skin is simply outstanding. There are seating options inside for a variety of occasions: You can have a drink at the bar if you're looking for a more casual setting, or eat at large tables if you're with a group. The staff is friendly and creates a pleasant atmosphere.

We were there with a large group on a busy holiday. The service was humorous, prompt, and exceptionally friendly. Our order was taken quickly, and the food arrived at a perfect time—neither too fast nor too slow. It tasted wonderful; everyone was happy and would definitely come back. Thank you very much!

A very pleasant brewery restaurant with a small beer garden. The service is very friendly, fast, and good. The various house beers were very tasty. The asparagus plate with new potatoes and hollandaise sauce was very tasty. I found the portion of only 6 thin asparagus spears too small for the price, especially since the cooked ham is charged extra, so you end up paying over €30 for it without really getting enough to eat. Overall, I felt comfortable there and can recommend the brewery.

The food wasn't that good. The service was unfriendly and very inflexible when it came to ordering.

So the restaurant looks really nice and is also relatively conveniently located. Parking wasn't that easy. We were able to order the drinks about 15 minutes after we were at the table. After another 30 minutes we were able to place our food order and then we waited another hour for the food. Some of the food was cold and unseasoned. The excuse at the end was that there were problems in the kitchen, which could have been mentioned. We left the restaurant annoyed but fed up. We won't visit it again.

We waited 50 minutes for our food. The Maultaschen were tasty but there weren't that many and there was a huge salad so that the plate looked halfway full. Pretty cheeky for €17. I can't recommend it.

Four of us were there on a Saturday evening and had to wait over 40 minutes for our food. When asked, they just said there were a lot of orders and it would take time. There was no apology. The Maultaschen were tasty, but charging almost 17 euros for 6 halves and the rest of the plate just salad is a bit cheeky. Then the dish should be called salad with Maultaschen and not just Maultaschen. The dressing in the salad was very tasty.

Delicious food and relaxed atmosphere I was at the Joh. Albrecht brewery in Düsseldorf, outside in the beer garden. The atmosphere was pleasant, the staff friendly. I had a baked potato with sour cream, fresh mushrooms and a mixed salad - everything was fresh and well seasoned. The beer from our own brewery was also impressive. A nice place for a relaxed meal with good beer.

2025: I took off one star from my earlier review. Repeatedly when we were booking the table we were seated by the toilet, and when asking to change, staff often tells that everything is booked out and we could take only next table by the toilet as well (but when insisting - suddenly finds the table). The food quality went down. Roastbeef was dry. Everything else is super greasy. Original Review from 2011: Great beer, their Kopfer is my favorite one. Food could be fatty and heavy, so be prepared they will have a lot of souse in a dish, but hey, that's German cuisine

We were neither greeted nor shown to a table today. After we were seated, we were given a card and were completely ignored for at least 20 minutes, so we left without having accomplished anything. In the bar area the staff cursed loudly and other tables also waited in vain for service.

Quaint brewery in the heart of Niederkassel. In the winter garden you can sit right next to the brewing kettles and, if you're lucky, look over the master brewer's shoulder. Nice weather invites you to sit outside. There is home-style cooking that is simple, good and fresh with huge portions for a fair price. You can order four of your own beers (copper, brass, old, craft beer). After dinner, a schnapps from Schmittmann’s next door. Special recommendation: velvet collar, which tastes mild and stimulates digestion.

We were invited there by our seminar leader. A very nice place to eat, drink and relax. The first thing that catches your eye when you walk into the courtyard is the copper brewing system. Very nice to look at. There is very good home-brewed beer here. I tried the copper first, slightly tart, slightly malty and very tasty. Afterwards I had a craft beer which I personally liked better. For dinner there was a Düsseldorf mustard roast which was absolutely amazing in terms of taste!!! Spices and ingredients are very harmonious and go perfectly with craft beer! The ambience is great and invites you to linger longer. The waitresses are consistently friendly and accommodating. We felt completely comfortable.

We were there on Sunday and not only was the food delicious, the beer was great, the service was also extremely attentive and friendly. Example: we just asked our three-year-old "would you like a small glass too" and before we could ask for a glass there was already a small glass with a straw on the table. An absolute recommendation, before or after a walk along the Rhine.

An ok stop on the way from Koblenz to Utrecht. But the beer is really undrinkable. Both the dunkel and the helles are really not tasty. I'm used to some local German beers, but never again :(

The five of us had a wonderful evening in this traditional, family-run brewery. The facility was very comfortably furnished. The meal was an absolute delight - the veal schnitzel with fried potatoes and homemade cucumber salad as well as the venison goulash with cranberry pear, apple red cabbage and butter spaetzle were excellently prepared and the portions were generous. The price-performance ratio is appropriate for this quality. Accompanied by a cool, hoppy-tart light beer “Messing”, which harmonized perfectly. The warm apple strudel with vanilla sauce rounded off the evening perfectly - a real highlight! The warm service was particularly impressive. The waiters were extremely friendly and attentive, and it was nice to see that the family themselves actively helped with the service. This creates a warm atmosphere and makes this house so special. Sehr mittelmäßige Küche. Essen lauwarm und in fettiger Soße. Leider zu spät erkundigt. Der Laden war im Herbst wegen erheblicher Hygienemängel geschlossen. Hatte von einem ehemaligen Angestellten eines anderen Brauhauses gehört dass am Personal extrem gespart wird. Kornkäfer im Malz und Mäusekot machen auch aufs Bier keine Lust mehr.

So far we have always enjoyed coming here and were looking forward to a cozy New Year's Eve, which is why we reserved a table in good time. When we arrived there today, we were warmly greeted with a glass of champagne. So far so good. Hence one star. We were then assigned our "table", which was a bar table with two bar stools. An absolute no go. It took a while before anyone felt responsible for us and brought the memory card and didn't even ask for drinks. If you can no longer provide reasonable tables with decent chairs, you must inform the customer in advance. With this event we were definitely here for the last time.

We eten regelmatig in dit restaurant en zijn normaal altijd erg tevreden. Helaas was het deze keer een grote teleurstelling. De bediening was onvriendelijk, het eten was matig, en de gebruikelijke salade werd vervangen door wat komkommer in zuur. Als dit ons eerste bezoek was geweest, waren we zeker niet teruggekomen. Jammer, want we weten dat het hier veel beter kan.

Unfortunately we were only there briefly for a beer and a goulash soup... but... both of those things were really tough!! 🤩🤩🤩 The homemade beer tastes fantastic and the goulash soup was to die for!!! 🤩😍🤩😍 In addition, the restaurant is incredibly cozy!!! I'd love to come back!!

I had a negative, worrying and deeply upsetting experience at your restaurant today. As an expat living in Oberkassel and working in Germany, I was subjected to discriminatory treatment at your restaurant and it made me feel excluded. My German is only beginner level but I can speak German enough to order at a restaurant. I politely asked the lady who was going to serve us if there were any drinks that children could drink. I was just asking for some advice. She didn't understand me even though I repeated my question 3 times. Frankly, I can understand that. However, the attitude and tone of her voice afterwards, her reluctance to answer and her walking away from our table quickly before the children could order their drinks were incomprehensible. There were also German family members with us, so I asked them to be sure. I asked them if I had made a mistake or if I had just been bullied. Because if it was my mistake, I could have tried to communicate again and apologized. However, everyone agreed that the problem was that I did not speak German fluently and that your waiter's attitude was disrespectful. In a city with a significant foreign population, I would expect your business to be more tolerant and inclusive of non-German speakers. I am writing to you only because I feel obliged to share my disappointment and because I think you, as business managers or restaurant owners, should be aware of this behavior. I certainly do not want you to perceive this as a personal revenge, that is certainly not my intention. I trust that you will take this matter with the seriousness it deserves. I am writing because I hope that people in similar positions will not have to finish their meals quickly, with their appetites gone, and leave your restaurant as soon as possible.

Disgraceful treatment of guests. We were shocked by the passive-aggressive tone of the waitress, which spoiled our appetite. We had dinner there with our family of seven (5:00 p.m. on November 27th, 2024). We asked the waitress if she had a drink recommendation for the children. She then replied coldly that she didn't “understand” us (remember, we have a migration background and a slight accent when we speak German). After we repeated the question three times, she said we should look at the map ourselves and then walked away. The whole integration completely shocked us. She completely lost her tone and was disrespectful to us as a family. Ironically, she also had an accent... We felt very uncomfortable and were about to leave the restaurant after this interaction. However, the children were hungry and we decided to stay one last time (never again!). I ask myself, how can you, Ms. Waitress, speak to us in such a snippy tone and condemn our German when you have an accent yourself? How would you have felt if we had asked you multiple times what you said to us? I hope your restaurant takes measures to prevent such discriminatory behavior.

Lovely traditional restaurant with traditional dishes such as pork knuckle and schnitzels. The portions served were huge and delicious. The service was great and friendly - we will definitely come back next time we’re in Düsseldorf!

Altbier is so delicious! I visited several breweries in Dusseldorf, and the Altbier here was delicious. Ate Schweinshaxe and Jägerschnitzel. It was very delicious. Delivery speed is also fast. It was great 🙂 I will go again next time.

All 4 types of beer brewed here are great, Alt is slightly bitter. Very fast serving, even pork knuckle comes in 5-7 mins. Several dishes ordered - all deserved compliments. Nice atmosphere of inner garden.

The beer is delicious and the staff is friendly and on the ball :) Unfortunately the food is underground! Coleslaw is swimming in oil, fried potatoes are dry, red cabbage appears in the goat cheese salad... unfortunately not at all satisfactory

The atmosphere is cozy, quiet. The food was so bad that I left it almost completely untouched; my daughter ate it with a sad face because she was too hungry. Not a single star unfortunately. It was her farewell evening before moving away from Oberkassel. The poor chanterelles were swimming in a tasteless, thickened mush that was supposed to be a cream sauce. Unfortunately they were no longer edible. Even the salad dressing was at best so-so. The waiter promised to let the kitchen know. He then left it at that. No further response after that, no discount, no beer served, nothing. This was the second time we didn't like it and we won't be coming back. It's a shame since it's in the neighborhood.

I discovered the brewery through a recommendation and have been coming here every now and then ever since. The food is really good and the price is okay. Service can sometimes be a bit friendlier, but overall I have always received very good and friendly service. If you're in the mood for good middle-class German cuisine, you've come to the right place and should give it a try. Shortcoming: Parking spaces are very rare, but that's not a drawback here ;-) Conclusion: Would you like to speak good German? Then just come by and try it out. It is worth it ..

We actually just happened to pass here when we were walking from the fair to the car and were terribly thirsty. I found it quite inviting and quiet and nice in the green, even in the city. There is a beautifully designed courtyard with tables and I also think the entrance to the brewery is pretty. We sat at the bar because we just wanted a drink and had to wait a bit because it was quite busy and the waiters had their hands full. But after 10 minutes we had our drinks and paid straight away. The staff was friendly and I think the ambience is really good for a brewery. We didn't eat anything, but what I saw on the plates looked really tasty. Since I often let my nose take over when I'm hungry, I would eat there if I was in the area again and was hungry. It actually smelled good.

We visited this brewery for the first time, It turns out that this is a network and it is all over Germany. The range of beers is good, you can order a liter of beer for 15 € and a branded beer for 17 € brings it to you in a decanter. A lot of people visit this wonderful place. We didn't eat, but people thought the large portions looked good. Served by cheerful girls who always cheer you up. Very wonderful place in a good location located at the end of the city of Dusseldorf, Not far from the autobahn. I highly recommend this brewery. We have a kind smile.

It used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Niederkassel. But now it has lessened significantly. I had the dumpling trio with mushroom cream sauce. The dumplings were hard and dry, seemed to come from the microwave and the sauce stuck to the spoon in lumps. The medallions from the turkey breast were “fried to death” and so it continued. The sticky, dirty table then rounded the whole thing down even further. Conclusion: For me and my family, not again so quickly.

Traditional food and good crafted beers. Asparagus soup was extremely good. Shank was good (even if, to my opinion, a little bit to dry. Good service, nice location. A little parking inside.

Homemade alt beer and craft beer are both delicious. I don't like alcohol and don't drink much, but the craft beer was fruity and delicious. I had the currywurst, a pizza with white asparagus on top, and it was also very delicious. I want to go again.

Schönes Brauhaus. Tolle Speisekarte, alles da. Portionen reichlich und alles lecker. Eine Kinderkarte ist auch vorhanden. Die Preise gehen auch in Ordnung.

Very good brewery with home-brewed beer, good food and good value for money. The staff is very friendly. The only thing that bothers me is that it is very loud when the brewery is very full.

Lokale Küche. Standard ,hebt sich nicht von anderen Brauhäusern ab. Qualität ist in Ordnung. Essen kommt sehr schnell. Der Aussenbereich ist nicht sehr einladend.
