Brauhaus Joh. Albrecht in Düsseldorf

Disgraceful treatment of guests. We were shocked by the passive-aggressive tone of the waitress, which spoiled our appetite. We had dinner there with our family of seven (5:00 p.m. on November 27th, 2024). We asked the waitress if she had a drink recommendation for the children. She then replied coldly that she didn't “understand” us (remember, we have a migration background and a slight accent when we speak German). After we repeated the question three times, she said we should look at the map ourselves and then walked away. The whole integration completely shocked us. She completely lost her tone and was disrespectful to us as a family. Ironically, she also had an accent... We felt very uncomfortable and were about to leave the restaurant after this interaction. However, the children were hungry and we decided to stay one last time (never again!). I ask myself, how can you, Ms. Waitress, speak to us in such a snippy tone and condemn our German when you have an accent yourself? How would you have felt if we had asked you multiple times what you said to us? I hope your restaurant takes measures to prevent such discriminatory behavior.

I had a negative, worrying and deeply upsetting experience at your restaurant today. As an expat living in Oberkassel and working in Germany, I was subjected to discriminatory treatment at your restaurant and it made me feel excluded. My German is only beginner level but I can speak German enough to order at a restaurant. I politely asked the lady who was going to serve us if there were any drinks that children could drink. I was just asking for some advice. She didn't understand me even though I repeated my question 3 times. Frankly, I can understand that. However, the attitude and tone of her voice afterwards, her reluctance to answer and her walking away from our table quickly before the children could order their drinks were incomprehensible. There were also German family members with us, so I asked them to be sure. I asked them if I had made a mistake or if I had just been bullied. Because if it was my mistake, I could have tried to communicate again and apologized. However, everyone agreed that the problem was that I did not speak German fluently and that your waiter's attitude was disrespectful. In a city with a significant foreign population, I would expect your business to be more tolerant and inclusive of non-German speakers. I am writing to you only because I feel obliged to share my disappointment and because I think you, as business managers or restaurant owners, should be aware of this behavior. I certainly do not want you to perceive this as a personal revenge, that is certainly not my intention. I trust that you will take this matter with the seriousness it deserves. I am writing because I hope that people in similar positions will not have to finish their meals quickly, with their appetites gone, and leave your restaurant as soon as possible.

Lovely traditional restaurant with traditional dishes such as pork knuckle and schnitzels. The portions served were huge and delicious. The service was great and friendly - we will definitely come back next time we’re in Düsseldorf!

I was a guest there in private company. The food (buffet) was good plain cooking, very tasty and plentiful. The beer tasted good and the service was friendly and attentive. The ambience impresses with the historic brewery and is cozy and inviting to linger...

Altbier is so delicious! I visited several breweries in Dusseldorf, and the Altbier here was delicious. Ate Schweinshaxe and Jägerschnitzel. It was very delicious. Delivery speed is also fast. It was great 🙂 I will go again next time.

Vriendelijke ontvangst door medewerker, het eten -schnitzel met knödel en champignon roomsaus, wat aan matige kant. Meest vervelend was echter een medewerkster die door hele restaurant gilde waarbij het leek of ze boos op haar collega's was. Kan me helaas niet vinden in de recensies

All 4 types of beer brewed here are great, Alt is slightly bitter. Very fast serving, even pork knuckle comes in 5-7 mins. Several dishes ordered - all deserved compliments. Nice atmosphere of inner garden.

The beer is delicious and the staff is friendly and on the ball :) Unfortunately the food is underground! Coleslaw is swimming in oil, fried potatoes are dry, red cabbage appears in the goat cheese salad... unfortunately not at all satisfactory

The atmosphere is cozy, quiet. The food was so bad that I left it almost completely untouched; my daughter ate it with a sad face because she was too hungry. Not a single star unfortunately. It was her farewell evening before moving away from Oberkassel. The poor chanterelles were swimming in a tasteless, thickened mush that was supposed to be a cream sauce. Unfortunately they were no longer edible. Even the salad dressing was at best so-so. The waiter promised to let the kitchen know. He then left it at that. No further response after that, no discount, no beer served, nothing. This was the second time we didn't like it and we won't be coming back. It's a shame since it's in the neighborhood.

I discovered the brewery through a recommendation and have been coming here every now and then ever since. The food is really good and the price is okay. Service can sometimes be a bit friendlier, but overall I have always received very good and friendly service. If you're in the mood for good middle-class German cuisine, you've come to the right place and should give it a try. Shortcoming: Parking spaces are very rare, but that's not a drawback here ;-) Conclusion: Would you like to speak good German? Then just come by and try it out. It is worth it ..

The best schnitzel in town! I highly recommend the Rahmschnitzel. My fave!

We actually just happened to pass here when we were walking from the fair to the car and were terribly thirsty. I found it quite inviting and quiet and nice in the green, even in the city. There is a beautifully designed courtyard with tables and I also think the entrance to the brewery is pretty. We sat at the bar because we just wanted a drink and had to wait a bit because it was quite busy and the waiters had their hands full. But after 10 minutes we had our drinks and paid straight away. The staff was friendly and I think the ambience is really good for a brewery. We didn't eat anything, but what I saw on the plates looked really tasty. Since I often let my nose take over when I'm hungry, I would eat there if I was in the area again and was hungry. It actually smelled good.

We visited this brewery for the first time, It turns out that this is a network and it is all over Germany. The range of beers is good, you can order a liter of beer for 15 € and a branded beer for 17 € brings it to you in a decanter. A lot of people visit this wonderful place. We didn't eat, but people thought the large portions looked good. Served by cheerful girls who always cheer you up. Very wonderful place in a good location located at the end of the city of Dusseldorf, Not far from the autobahn. I highly recommend this brewery. We have a kind smile.

It used to be one of my favorite restaurants in Niederkassel. But now it has lessened significantly. I had the dumpling trio with mushroom cream sauce. The dumplings were hard and dry, seemed to come from the microwave and the sauce stuck to the spoon in lumps. The medallions from the turkey breast were “fried to death” and so it continued. The sticky, dirty table then rounded the whole thing down even further. Conclusion: For me and my family, not again so quickly.

Traditional food and good crafted beers. Asparagus soup was extremely good. Shank was good (even if, to my opinion, a little bit to dry. Good service, nice location. A little parking inside.

Homemade alt beer and craft beer are both delicious. I don't like alcohol and don't drink much, but the craft beer was fruity and delicious. I had the currywurst, a pizza with white asparagus on top, and it was also very delicious. I want to go again.

Schönes Brauhaus. Tolle Speisekarte, alles da. Portionen reichlich und alles lecker. Eine Kinderkarte ist auch vorhanden. Die Preise gehen auch in Ordnung.

Very good brewery with home-brewed beer, good food and good value for money. The staff is very friendly. The only thing that bothers me is that it is very loud when the brewery is very full.

Lokale Küche. Standard ,hebt sich nicht von anderen Brauhäusern ab. Qualität ist in Ordnung. Essen kommt sehr schnell. Der Aussenbereich ist nicht sehr einladend.

We are really disappointed. A starter was forgotten. The mashed potatoes on the knuckle plates were cold and had to be complained about. A main course was taken incorrectly and had to be delivered later. The portion sizes have definitely become smaller. The price/performance ratio is no longer right. The grill plate is completely overpriced. It's a shame, we would otherwise have been happy to come.

I would describe it as a very nice brewery with some food. It's in a rather residential and unattractive neighbourhood, squeezed between houses, but inside it's really nice, very cozy and traditional style. Plenty of space for small and large groups. Good beer, the selection of food feels a bit limited but it's all tasty, and I'd say in line with expectations. All in all really good experience.

There I met the mother of all pork knuckles, perfectly prepared. Before that there was a soup that was not only reminiscent of the bath water of the respective animal. Plus delicious beers and a hearty dessert at the end. ATTENTION: Be sure to leave your car keys or car at home ;-))! Have fun stopping by...

First time there and looking forward to the next time. Super friendly service, even if she forgot my bread, which I got with Qauark and wasn't supposed to pay for. Thank you 5 people were there. Everyone got their food at the same time and everyone enjoyed it very much. The apple strudel is also highly recommended. The prices weren't exorbitant either. Delicious in-house Altbier. Parking is a challenge, but I got there on my bike. I'm already looking forward to the next stop outside on the terrace.

What an absolute gem of a place! Traditional German cuisine, crafted beer, great service, I cannot recommend it enough. Definitely worth going there.

Food at normal prices. The Riesling sauce for the salmon is not a stunner and should be offered separately in a gravy boat. Don't just pour it over the fish. Zappes has to practice tapping Altbier again - too little foam. It's better 😉 Otherwise it worked fine and there is nothing else to complain about. Friendly service

Very nice location. Very cozy brewery-style atmosphere, with home-brewed beer. Food is completely okay, although in my opinion there are better brewery kitchens in Düsseldorf. Prices normal, neither particularly overpriced nor cheaper than elsewhere. Location is a bit out of the way, but I see that as a positive thing. All in all, you can go there very well and happily.

The brewery has been one of my favorite restaurants for many years. The food is always excellent. Whether it's a rustic salad, pork knuckle or Düsseldorf mustard roast. There is something for everyone when it comes to home-brewed beers. The home-style menu is regularly supplemented with seasonal dishes. The service is friendly, professional and always in a good mood. There are also many long-term employees among the service staff. The atmosphere is very rustic and cozy. In summer you can spend time in the beautiful beer garden completely undisturbed by any traffic. It's only a few minutes' walk to the Rhine. Parking is ok. Somehow you always find a parking space. Easy to reach by bus. Reservation is essential, especially on weekends.

I am grateful to every brewery etc. that also has a vegan dish on the menu. This means I can also be there at company events and the like. So thank you for the meat-free schnitzel!

Very cozy and rustic with a lot of flair, very attentive staff, food very tasty and fresh. The prices are normal. We really liked and enjoyed it. We'll definitely come back. By the way, reservations are recommended, we were lucky to get a free place for two people at 5:30 p.m. on a Sunday. Later everything was occupied.

Today I was at the brewery with my hiking group. The beer brewed here is really tasty, the food is plentiful and good. And the service delighted everyone in my group.

We had booked a table for several people at 12:00 p.m. When we arrived, despite the minus temperatures, the guest rooms were not heated. I expect a restaurant to heat its guest rooms at lunchtime and that guests do not have to eat their food in their jackets. It was only when we left that we noticed that the heating was starting to come on so slowly.

Ein tolles Brauhaus mit leckerem Essen und sehr freundlichem und professionellen Service. Große Portionen und gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Eine große Auswahl an selbstgebrauten Bieren.

Das war unser Familien-Weihnachtsessen, auf welches wir uns sehr gefreut haben! Aus diesem Grund haben wir ein offensichtlich, gutes Restaurant ausgesucht. Leider war die Enttäuschung sehr groß! Weihnachten gab eine gekürzte Karte, anders als im Internet. Für unsere vegetarische Begleitung war leider nur sehr wenig Auswahl. Hinweis auf der HP wäre sinnvoll gewesen! Ente und Gänsekeule waren ungenießbar trocken! Das ein gelernter Koch, diese zum Servieren frei gibt, war schon sehr überraschend! Die anderen Speisen waren ok, haben unsere Erwartungen aber bei weitem nicht erfüllt. Der Service war nicht professionell, Bestellungen werden auf einen Bierdeckel notiert?! Was vielleicht der Grund war, warum ein Teller beim servieren fehlte. Dieser wurde nach 15 Minuten nachgereicht. Die Kellnerin war nicht unfreundlich, aber motiviertes Arbeiten stellt man sich anders vor. Am Ende haben wir Ente und Gänsekeule nicht bezahlt. Dieses Restaurant werden wir definitiv nicht mehr besuchen und nicht weiterempfehlen.

Wahr zwischen Weihnachten und Silvester dort super nette Bedienung und eine hervorragende Fassbrause nur das Hirschgulasch hat Wildgeschmack vermissen lassen sonst wirklich lecker und gute portions größen

Bedienung ist auf Zack, Bier ist gut. Wenn ich auf einer Speisekarte, Oma‘s Roulade lese, 22,90€ dachte ich super! Vielleicht bin ich etwas zu verwöhnt, aber diese Roulade war ähnlich groß wie einer der Kartoffelknödel. Im Nachhinein trifft die Bezeichnung: Oma‘s Roulade gar zu, denn meine Oma würde diese nicht ganz schaffen oder vielleicht ist es es eine Anspielung auf die Nachkriegszeit und deren Portionen.

Up,out and about on a beautiful December morning, my twin brother and I decided to jump the tram over to the leafy and upmarket Oberkassel district to visit the cute Oberkassel Christmas Market, after enjoying gluhwein and reibekuchen in this fun Christmas market we decided to explore around this area of Dusseldorf and this is how we chanced upon Brauhaus Joh Albrecht and what a great find. Housed in a great looking building, the interior of this brewpub is superb, very traditional, lots of pine wood features, an eye catching island style serving bar, wonderful decorative features and lovely furnishings, brew vats prominently on display and plenty of seating options spread throughout this brewpub both inside and outside in their courtyard, its just a great brewpub to unwind in. We sat near the serving bar were a very pleasant member of the bar team served us two 0.4 altbiers ,these were served in excellent condition, we chilled out and soaked up the great vibe in this busy and popular brewpub. A big fan of the various altbiers available throughout Dusseldorf and the altbier brewed here is as good as it gets ,it's a top fermented brew ,dark almost copper coloured with a foamy head,hints of caramel,a slightly bittersweet finish ,very easy to drink ,its a beer style my twin brother and I really enjoy, it was just so good being in such a lovely brewpub enjoying such a great beer . We really enjoyed our beers in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting for a first time visit to Brauhaus Joh Albrecht we were totally impressed. Brauhaus Joh Albrecht is easy to locate along Niederkasseler Straße. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, midday till 11pm. A wonderful brewpub in a wonderful location, well worth seeking out if you're in the Oberkassel district.

Das pfeffersteak war ok aber die Soße hat ehrlich abgelaufen geschmeckt der Dip zum Brot hat geschmeckt wie Kräuter Frischkäse aus penny aber an sich ein guter Laden aber das essen muss echt nicht sein schöne Grüße aus garath

Kellnerin wollte nicht das wir mit sieben Leuten 4 Vorspeise n bestellen sie meinte 2 reichen apfelstrudel war salzig mussten wir zurück geben am anfang standen wir wie blöd obwohl wir reserviert hatten also nie wieder und echt teuer für fertig essen

Wir haben reserviert und standen trotzdem wie doof da weil man unsere Reservierung nicht gefunden hat obwohl sie offensichtlich auf dem Zettel stand. Die Kellnerin wollte uns für 7 Personen keine 4 Vorspeisen geben, weil sie der Meinung war, dass 2 reichen würden. Das gleiche mit den Dips. Kein frisches Essen. Pfeffersauce hat nicht mehr gut geschmeckt, genau wie der Apfelstrudel der salzig war. Immerhin war das Ambiente schön gestaltet und gemütlich

It was noisy. We waited 45 minutes for our food. I didn't like it. I ordered Dusseldorfer senfrostbraten. The potatoes were dry. The meat was dry and stringy. The vegetables in the salad were tasteless. I would not recommend this establishment. Only liked the wine Pure79 sauvignon blanc (trocken)

Sehr leckere Brauhausküche und natürlich Bier - z.B. Alt, Messing - hell, hopfig, herb - und Kupfer - dunkel, malzig, mild. Auch alkoholfreie Biere und Getränke kein Problem.

Sind öfters hier. Gut bürgerliches Essen; schönes Ambiente mit freundlicher Bedienung! Parkplätze vor dem Haus oft sehr rar. Parken an der Straße möglich.

Nach dem wie bestellt haben müssten wir einen anderen Tisch nehmen obwohl wir gefragt haben ob es ok ist auf dem ausgesuchten Tisch. Auf dem neuen Platz war es sehr laut so das man sich nicht wohlfühlen konnte.

Das Essen war sehr lecker. Ich habe vorab eine Gulaschsuppe bestellt, die ziemlich schnell serviert wurde und schmeckte. Die Hauptspeise ließ etwas auf sich warten, da wir mit einer großen Gruppe dort waren und alle gleichzeitig das Essen bekamen. Das war gut, so konnten wir zusammen essen 👍. Der Salat war sehr lecker und beinhaltete versch.Früchten (Ananas, Orange, Apfel, Melone usw.), Salatblätter, Gurken, Tomaten und Oliven sowie Brot. Die Cola Zero hat übrigens auch lecker geschmeckt, irgendwie anders als sonst, aber gut 👍 Der Milchkaffee war auch gut. Und der Nachtisch (Kaiserschmarrn) ein Träumchen. Das Ambiente war interessant, wie ein Brauhaus eben. Die anderen Gäste am Tisch waren auch zufrieden. Also Daumen hoch 👍

Haben heute sehr lecker 😋 gegessen. Der schnelle, sehr freundliche Service ist uns besonderes positiv aufgefallen. Weiter so, wir kommen sicher wieder.

Super leckere Deutsche Küche und ein sehr netter schneller Service. Außerdem ist es sehr Kinderfreundlich und bietet eine Vielzahl an Kindergerichten. Es besitzt einen sehr schönen Außenbereich und schön dekorierten Innenbereich. Rund um ein Super Erlebnis.

Uriges kleines Brauhaus in Düsseldorf mit leckeren regionalen Gerichten und selbstgebrauten Bieren (zum Glück nicht nur Alt). Freundliches Personal und ein nettes Ambiente runden das gute Bild ab. Zu empfehlen ist insbesondere der Düsseldorfer Senfrostbraten.

Essen, Trinken war sehr gut, die Kellnerin hat unverschämt 20% Trinkgeld verlangt. Mir war peinlich von meinen Gästen. Internationale Gäste sollen aufpassen. Ich fühlte mich über den Tisch gezogen. Food and drink were very good, the waitress outrageously asked for a 20% tip. I was embarrassed by my guests. International guests should be careful.

Tolles Ambiente und leckeres Bier

In Bayern sagt man „griabig“ - feine Privatbrauerei in schönem Ambiente mit sehr gutem Essen, noch besserem Bier und einem Servicepersonal, das das Herz am rechten Fleck hat. Danke für den schönen Abend nei Euch!

Das Essen ist sehr solide und schmackhaft, der Service ist auch freundlich. Das Ambiente gleicht jedoch einer Katastrophe. Es ist leider so unglaublich laut und hektisch. Am Bahnhof ist eine bessere Geräuschkulisse. Das macht dann leider einfach keinen Spass, so leid es mir ums Essen und die freundlichen Mitarbeiter tut.
