Brauhaus & Hotel "Alter Elbehof" in Torgau

It couldn't be better. Despite the full house and no reservation, I wasn't turned away. I had to wait half an hour, but then I got a great table in the garden. Great staff.

I would give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could. We stayed here once on our Elbe Cycle Path tour, including dinner. Both the lamb and the poultry were tender as butter, a delight. All three beers are delicious. The service is excellent, friendly, and always attentive. The rooms are also top-notch; you can see that attention to detail has been paid. Nothing is superficial or cheap. Everything is perfectly coordinated and of high quality. You can feel the passion for the whole experience.

Today we went to eat with our grandparents at Alter Elbehof. The food, the beer, and the service were all excellent! Thank you for the lovely afternoon. We will definitely come back and recommend you to others.

We had reserved a table for the start of school, where we had lunch at the Elbhof. Even the early reservation in August 2024 worked out perfectly. I made small gifts for our guests, which the staff easily placed for each guest on the day! Great table decorations, even with little treats in the little school bags, and our son even received a gift for his start to school. Simply fantastic! The service staff were super friendly and attentive, the food was plentiful and very, very tasty, as all our guests also commented! As a family, it was our first visit to the Elbhof, and for such an occasion – simply fantastic! We'll be back, that's for sure! A huge thank you to the team at the Elbhof in Werdau!

We had a very successful business meeting with around 30 partners in this beautiful setting, with excellent service and delicious food! Thank you! Thanks also to the builder – the on-site brewed cellar beer is also nothing to be sniffed at 👍. Good, home-style cooking at fair prices. We went there on a whim. But that's less of a problem during the week, even with a dog. The staff is very friendly and up for a little joke. We'd be happy to come back.

Eigentlich ist der „Elbehof“ in Werdau zumindest kulinarisch immer eine Empfehlung wert. Das Ambiente und die Karte samt Geschmack suchen seinesgleichen. Wir hatten einen echt schönen Abend im Kreis ehemaliger Kollegen (auf‘s gendern möchte ich an dieser Stelle verzichten), bis es dann an die Rechnungen ging. Zu diesem Zeitpunkt wies uns die weniger freundliche Bedienung darauf hin, dass keine Kreditkartenzahlung möglich ist bzw, nur gegen eine Gebühr in Höhe von 2% des Umsatzes. Wie bitte? Unser Tisch hat einen Gesamtumsatz von ca. 300,00 € gemacht zzgl. Trinkgeld. So etwas hab ich noch nie und nirgendwo erlebt. Jede weitere Zahlung mit dieser Kreditkarte (also auch die Rechnung über 2% Gebühren) hätte weitere 2% erfordert. Entweder es wird bereits eingangs darauf hingewiesen oder man sperrt den Kartenleser für diese Zahlung, was die Situation mangels Bargeld oder einer EC-Karte nicht entschärft hätte. Bei den gerechtfertigten aber nicht ganz günstigen Preisen im „Elbehof“ sollte eine Diskussion dieser Art gar nicht erst aufkommen. Die Chefin konnte sich dieser Situation durch sicher verdiente Abwesenheit nicht stellen.

Very nice location and very nice atmosphere

As a cyclist, I was immediately assigned a seat inside. The beer garden is also impressive. The home-brewed pilsner and dark beer, as well as the garlic steak, are excellent. Served by friendly young people. Highly recommended!

A place with extraordinary potential. The tables are a bit too close together, resulting in a high noise level. The ambiance could use some work, but the food is simply perfect.

We celebrated our wedding here. From the very beginning, the service was excellent. Communication was always friendly. They tried to make everything we wanted for the wedding possible. The ambiance is simply dreamy: on the one hand, the beautiful green courtyard with a view of Hartenfels Castle, and on the other, the beautifully romantic ballroom. The food is truly delicious, and the service was consistently friendly and attentive. We and all our guests felt very comfortable here. Many thanks to the team at the "Alten Elbehof."

Yes, absolutely. You can hike through the Elbe meadows and visit the Kratitz Stud, and Torgau isn't far either.

Bis zur Nachspeise war alles okay. Als Nachspeise bestellte ich mir einen Schwarzwälder Kirsch Eisbecher. Besonderheit in diesem Lokal war, dass im Eisbecher ein rundes Magnet mit einem Durchmesser von ca. 3 cm war. Eisbecher wurde zwar zurückgenommen und es wurde ein neuer Eisbecher gebracht, aber kein Wort einer Entschuldigung vom Personal. Ist wohl Normal?Sehr enttäuschend.

There was a magnet in the sundae, about 3 cm in diameter. I was wondering what I had in my mouth. No apologies from the staff. Never again.

On January 25th, 2025 we went to lunch at the "Alten Elbehof Werdau" with family and friends on the occasion of our birthday. The service was very polite, discreet, competent and quick. The meals were very tasty and of excellent quality. The room is very tastefully decorated and the table is very attractively decorated. We felt very comfortable and the stay was a great experience for us. We can only highly recommend the restaurant and the team. Many thanks again to the employees for this successful stay. We had a great tour of the Graditz Stud and stayed overnight at the Hotel Alter Elbehof. Price performance is simply top. Really clean, great breakfast was included in the price. The staff was friendly throughout. We reserved dinner at the hotel and were pleasantly surprised. There were big celebrations on site but we didn't notice.

The roast venison was great, as was the home-brewed pilsner and the friendly service.

A lovingly furnished homestead and restaurant with a wonderful rural setting around it. We were in the ballroom for a local wedding. The people who took care of the service were totally friendly, courteous and attentive. Immediately upon arrival you felt comfortable and in good hands. The interior features beautiful murals, high-quality furniture and warm wood. Food and accommodation were also impeccable.

Unfortunately only one star. We were passing through last week and had chosen the Alter Elbhof as a stopover. Unfortunately a closed event took place. This could have been pointed out on the website.

I haven't been able to experience such great cuisine in a long time. The food is excellent and at very reasonable prices. The beer brewed there is also super tasty.

Absolute recommendation. Due to two large events, parking spaces were scarce and, understandably, we had to wait a little longer. BUT the food was simply terrific, the service was always friendly and quick and the atmosphere was rustic and cozy. I will definitely stop by again.

We can confirm the slogan “Fresh cuisine from the country”. You can really taste it here. :-) We come here very sporadically and are always impressed by the pleasant atmosphere, the fresh dishes and the friendly service. The Alte Elbehof is worth recommending.

When we discovered the old Elbehof over a year ago, we immediately chose it as our favorite restaurant. And rightly so. So far we are very reluctant to leave this place, but very happy. The food is not only delicious, but also attractively presented. Some people around here can learn a lot from this. From the individual ingredients you can taste the quality and also the love of the cook for their profession. Here you will always receive a friendly welcome and farewell. And you always enjoy coming back. Oh yes, the wines are excellent too. And when my wife was pregnant, she was offered the opportunity to serve every cocktail non-alcoholic. THIS is how gastronomy works! By the way, the outdoor area is a dream, rustic with a view of Torgau Castle. It doesn't get any better than that. Many thanks to the lovely team at Alten Elbehof!

We would have liked to come by based on a recommendation, as reservations are required, we called, but no one answered. We then used the reservation portal, which promised “immediate feedback,” which was not forthcoming. Maybe add what you mean by “immediately” on the website, then you as a customer will have planning security and can look around for alternatives.

I can really only recommend it.

Nach einem langen Tag auf dem Fahrrad will man etwas ordentliches zu essen haben, ein gutes Bier und das ganze gern in angenehmer Umgebung. Hat hier alles gut geklappt. Ein sehr schöner Biergarten mit guter Küche (der Koch ist wohl noch nicht lange da, macht es aber sehr gut) und hausgebrautem Bier. Ziemlich voll, an manchen anderen Tischen schien es etwas zu dauern mit dem Essen.

Very idyllic location, attentive and friendly service! The food was excellent at a reasonable price. All dishes are freshly prepared with love. We had chanterelle soup, salad with turkey strips and a game dish. It was all delicious. We would definitely like to come back.

We had dinner with you on two consecutive Thursdays around 6 p.m. On the first one (June 6th) we felt very comfortable with friendly, fast service and good food. Payment by credit card, including TIP, was possible. On June 13th then the slightly different idea, a not-so-good-humoured waitress, not particularly eager. Payment by credit card is not possible there, and if so only with an extra fee. When we questioned this, the cashier became snappy. An extra fee would probably be one-off. We probably won't come back straight away.

From the food to the beer to the friendly service, we really liked everything.

Great inn with young owners. We enjoyed all the dishes very much and were beautifully prepared. The portions are large, which is a good thing. Very nice large outdoor area with parasols. We didn't really like the home-brewed beer. There is a small sandpit and swings for children. Keep it up.

Despite many obviously free places, we were turned away with the words “nothing is available at the moment”. No effort was made to find a solution.

Well-kept restaurant with very friendly staff not far from Torgau. The journey is worth it. Even though we showed up an hour before our reserved appointment, we were immediately seated at a table in the shady beer garden behind the restaurant. This is what came to us Very convenient given the wonderful weather. It wasn't difficult for us to choose the food and drinks, because the menu says - seasonal - the asparagus dishes we were after are right on the first page and a little later they were lovingly arranged on the table in front of us. The portions are very generous, everything tasted very good and the price-performance ratio is right. What more do you want? Thank you for the hospitality. Greetings also to the lovely house cat, who got a few pets and treats from us at the table before lying down to rest on the neighboring chair in the midday sun. We would be happy to come back and would be happy to recommend the restaurant.

We are always amazed by the kitchen, whether inside or outside, it is pleasant everywhere. Whenever we are in the area, we try to plan it so that we can eat right there 🤭. Sometimes it's (understandably) difficult to get a spot, so it's best to call ahead 😉! I think the prices are totally okay too! All in all highly recommended !!!

Reserved a table there for Mother's Day. Was a direct hit. We were thrilled. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. The ambience was very tasteful and inviting. Have an in-house brewery. The freshly tapped beer was excellent and was very tasty. Likewise the food, the asparagus salad as a starter is also highly recommended and aromatic. The main courses (roast venison, schnitzel) were sumptuous, fresh and delicious. Priced completely okay for this excellent quality. Rich menu, something for everyone. Afterwards, it's worth taking a digestive walk in the countryside to the Elbe just around the corner. Would love to come back. Clear recommendation!

Very good food. Very nice attentive service. We are completely satisfied and will definitely come back despite the long journey. I think it would definitely make sense to reserve a table in advance. Today we were lucky to get a table without a reservation. Things were different for us too. Surely all the other guests like to come back again and again and so it is often full.

The food was super tasty, the price was mega fair for the large portions and despite the parallel wedding event, the service was always there when something was missing. The ambience and the home-brewed beer also leave nothing to be desired.

The guest rooms have a very nice atmosphere. But the food is also recommended. The rich selection on the menu promises that there is something for everyone. The food I ordered was very tasty. Of course there was a beer made in this brewery, which was also quite good.
