We were at the Balloon Museum and saw the advertisement for the Herr Knillmann restaurant as we were leaving the premises. We went there spontaneously and didn't regret it. The food, service, atmosphere and price/performance ratio were all right here. We'll be back soon with friends.

We ended up here on the recommendation of a friend and I have to say: a good tip. Hungry after sport, we both ended up eating schnitzel. At first I found it strange that the side salad had to be ordered separately. However, there are a lot of green food refusers who let the salad end up in the brown bin unused. Somehow sustainable and quite decent for €6.50. Ambiance, we sat outside, very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and the delicious food was served quickly. Free parking for 2.5 hours is a nice way to get rid of the car. I like to give 5 stars

Nice restaurant inside and outside. See and be seen with nice, good guests. A nice get-together in a wonderful atmosphere. You just feel comfortable. Whether alone or in a large company, there is space here. It is advisable to make a reservation. The menu is manageable and what comes out of the kitchen is convincingly good. The staff are extremely demanding during peak times but are still friendly when they are stressed. Price performance is consistent. A visit is a must in Gerresheim!

We were thrilled 🤩 We ended up there by chance, were at the Balloon Museum, were hungry and looked for a beer garden nearby. That's how we found Mr. Knillmann. Everything was perfect, the location was really nice and cozy, the staff was attentive, the food tasted great. We couldn't decide what to eat - there were so many appealing things on the menu. Bowl and sweet potato fries were a great choice 😊 It's a shame we live so far away

We were there spontaneously with 6 people + 1 child. My dish was forgotten, while everyone ate in a relaxed manner, I was allowed to watch and wait. As an apology, we were given a free dessert. But that doesn't change the fact that it was forgotten. However, you should budget €20-30 per person for food and a drink. The portions are manageable. My food arrived just as everyone else had finished eating. I then politely refused to accept it.

We (two people) picked Mr. Knillman out of the City Schecks Düsseldorf voucher book and were here for the first time. We were warmly welcomed. The terrace looked very inviting, but we preferred to sit inside and were able to choose a spot. There wasn't one operator responsible for this area, but rather different people. But we were always served in a friendly manner, always with a smile. When ordering, we showed the voucher book, which was commented on in a friendly manner and said that it would be taken into account when paying later. We ordered Rigatoni alla Puttanesca + chicken breast strips (the sauce was very tasty, although a little too spicy for our taste, but that is very individual; suggestion: offer a mild and spicier version) and Kikok chicken breast with a mango risotto and grilled green asparagus (very yummy). Something completely different. Overall, we found the menu to be very varied. Yes, a little higher priced. But very tasty, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. If the quality is right, it may cost a little more. We would treat ourselves to that every now and then. The atmosphere among the staff also seemed very good to me, which was very pleasant. We'd love to come back!

There were 4 of us there at lunchtime with two small children. The parking situation is bad. There is probably a parking garage for customers, but unfortunately this information is completely missing on the homepage or in the absence of an appointment/reservation reminder. Annoying because Düsseldorf is not particularly cheap for parking. We thought the store was great both inside and out. Great atmosphere, very harmonious. If you've never been there you feel helpless. Because you are looking for the counter to register. The store has several entrances and we hoped to be approached or then approached the service ourselves. The service staff were all super nice and took care of everything straight away. The store has a play area for children, and pencils and something to draw with arrive without being asked. I take my hat off to that. The cards arrived immediately and the drinks and children's chair were at the table in no time. The food came to us very quickly and it was very appealing and tasty. The menu is generally a bit more modern with great vegetarian and vegan cuisine. All in all, a great combination of classics and modern dishes. For dessert we had the chocolate cake for 9 euros with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It was delicious but I have to say that I wouldn't pay another 9 euros for the little cake, even if it was nicely draped. Otherwise the price-performance ratio was really okay. When we're in the corner again, we'll be happy to come back. Just put a note about parking everywhere. This also generates more customers. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere and is easy to reach by car. The service was very friendly and helpful, even when it got busier. The food was prepared quickly and tasted delicious. We had burgers and tarte flambée. The price of the food was also okay. However, there is a star deduction for the dessert. It was also delicious, but far too expensive for the small portion. These had no relation to each other. Overall, definitely recommended and I will definitely come back.

The food was really nice but unfortunately there was a fly in the salad. The beef pappardelle is delicious and so is the chicken avocado burger. My friend also enjoyed the schnitzel. They gave us free dessert but a fly in the food is kind of gross. The food is also kind of pricey. The restaurant is nice and the atmosphere is nice as well.

The fried potatoes were also drowned in oil. For 32 euros per dish, it's quite a hassle and annoying. Unfortunately, the price/performance ratio isn't right here at all.

Super nice place. Sat outside under beautiful trees (but it looks great inside too). Yesterday we ended our team event (17 people) with a company meal at Mr. Knillmann's. Our entire team was thrilled without exception! From the quality of the food to the service, everything was simply fantastic and the uncomplicated reservation and arrangement in advance made planning a lot easier for me! I can only thank you again on behalf of everyone for the loving service and the excellent cuisine!!! And I can only recommend a visit to the restaurant to everyone else! The location of the restaurant between the cute half-timbered houses and the ambience inside are simply inviting!

Wonderful experience with good food and good ambience!

We were there on Sunday with 4 people and 2 children around 4:30 p.m. and ate there. We had pasta, steaks, salads and tarte flambée. There were Chicken Mc Nuggets for the children. We paid €120.00 for everything and are completely satisfied. There is a small children's corner including a "children's kitchen" with several toys. Even when the children were in the way, the staff took it very easy and were always friendly. We really enjoyed the food, the portions were decent. The toilets are clean and there is even a barrier-free toilet with a changing table and free Pampers. We were very satisfied and thank you.

Unfortunately we can only give 3 stars. We were there on Saturday, April 6th. in the restaurant. At the start of summer we were able to get a high table on the terrace at 7 p.m. The restaurant is very nicely styled, you can see that a lot of money went into the interior design! The atmosphere is “exactly my thing!”, so to speak. However, it is a very large and therefore impersonal restaurant. The choice of food is rather good, middle-class, with pasta, burgers and schnitzel. Unfortunately, the quality is below average or not appropriate for the price. The Wiener Schnitzel cost €32, and it wasn't crispy but rather soaked in butter. The fried potato side dish was soggy and lukewarm. I had a burger whose patty was "fried to death", with sweet potato fries and extra cheese for €22, also on the edge of acceptable. We experienced the whole thing much better with a restaurant concept similar to “Freemanns”! In addition, we had to wait almost an hour for our main courses. Even the good service was quite worried here because the kitchen couldn't deliver. The lady then apologized to us and offered coffee etc. as compensation. The service is at least trying, but of course it can't make up for the significant weaknesses in the quality of the food. If you live in Gerresheim and go around the corner for a snack, "Mr. Knillmann" will certainly suit you. But traveling from other parts of the city is not worth it at all.

Very good restaurant with a great ambience and good location. Particularly attractive for parents with (small) children, as there is a play area for small children, as well as paper and crayons at the table for the older ones. Food is excellent and comes quickly. The atmosphere is relaxed and very warm!

There are three stars only for the food, which was very tasty. Based on previous experience (on a non-crowded day), we invited a few guests for dinner (four adults and three children). Since we didn't have a reservation, we were led into a closed area that we initially found to be quiet. There were three young ladies sitting near us who suddenly went to another corner and said loudly: "I can't sit here, I hate children! If I were one of the employees of the restaurant I would say that this is a family restaurant and if you don't want to sit in a room with families it is better to look for another restaurant, but of course that didn't happen! We were given a high chair without a seat belt which was dangerous for our 15 month old baby so we asked for a replacement, the waiter took the high chair and never brought the right one back. When we asked him about it, he said we didn't have any left. A few minutes later, on the way to the toilet, I found 4-5 high chairs, all with the correct seat belt. When I asked the waiter about it he said he would check but didn't come back. Finally we ordered children's food but we only got adult food and the waiter claimed we didn't order anything. To be honest after all these bad experiences in just an hour I can't remember if we ordered for kids or not so no judgment!!! All said, a night that we expected to be wonderful turned terrible, not because of the food but because of the behavior of some people.

Quite a nice restaurant. Parking is difficult in front of the house, the whole street had parking tickets, thank God we didn't. It looks very interesting from the inside, food and service is good. I can recommend this, for parking there is probably a parking garage nearby upon request. The waitresses are friendly and quick. There are also many seats inside.

We drove to Gerresheim specifically to dine with Mr. Knillmann. Unfortunately, the choice of rump steak was probably wrong. "Medium" was ordered, but it was initially delivered completely cooked through. After the complaint, a second steak was delivered, which was unfortunately raw and cold. Only after the third “touch-up” could the piece of meat be eaten. We recommend ordering burgers from Mr. Knillmann, as they were served quickly without any complaints from those sitting next to you. A compliment goes to the waitress; the young man did everything to satisfy us. Exemplary and thank you very much! P.S. The alt tasted as always!

We only had a drink there, the service was friendly but you can expect a long wait, of course it's busy but 15 to 20 minutes for a drink is quite a long time. Price €6 for 0.5l. Ambiance is very nice! Interior and exterior. Unfortunately I can't say anything about the food this time, but I was there a year or two ago and remember it well (I think the price has increased slightly). Extension: now I also ate something there, the service was nice, the food came very quickly today and was solid but nothing special and the price was high (normal burger with fries = €19.5 (beyond Burger)). Still a nice place and a modern, spacious restaurant!

The food and the ambience are good, but if it's full it's better not to go there. I understand that if it's full, ordering will of course take time, but waiting not over an hour and almost two hours for the food isn't any fun either. If you can't serve so many guests, you don't have to let so many in and just say we don't have space.

Prices are sometimes steep, but the food is really excellent. The tarte flambée is definitely recommended! Service could be more attentive here and there. For us, for example, the drinks came after the meal. Quite loud on Sundays as there are many families with children there.
