Bratar in Karlsruhe

I went to Bratar in Ettlingertor today based on a recommendation from my friends. The service was fine and I had a good view of the kitchen. Unfortunately, I noticed that the restaurant doesn't make sure that the beef is grilled separately from the pork. That looked impossible. As a Muslim, this put me off and unfortunately also spoiled my appetite after I saw a piece of meat similar to bacon on my beef burger. I'm sorry but that was the last time I was there!!!

Very friendly service. The vegetarian burger was ok, but something special was missing. The fries were delicious. All in all, it has a rather high price-performance ratio.

There were three of us for lunch. I had a double burger with a few extras and fries, it was super tasty and, above all, served quickly despite the busy restaurant. Service was very friendly and competent. The price is a bit steep but reasonable for the overall package.

We were here for dinner. However, the poor service had already started when ordering. I ordered a smashburger with fries. It seemed strange to me that they didn't ask for dips to go with the fries. When we asked, it turned out that no fries had been ordered. Then I ordered fries, but they never arrived because the waiter forgot to send the order… We ordered vegan mayonnaise to accompany my companion, but sour cream came instead. This has been corrected, albeit in a very small container, with the information that reorders can be made at any time. We did this too, unfortunately the vegan mayonnaise we ordered never arrived. When we asked the waiter about our dissatisfaction while paying, his response was simply "I'm not sure, are you kidding me?" and "Please don't write a bad review now". Normally I'm not one to write reviews - especially not bad ones, but after this comment from the waiter I couldn't miss it.

I had a triple burger, the chili cheese fries and a beer. The beer came in an ice-cold stein and was very good. The burger was also tasty and medium rare, as requested. The only thing that bothered me was the price of the other ingredients in the burger. You happily order and suddenly have 6 euros more for another roll, a slice of cheese and a few onions. Next time I won't use any other ingredients. The fries were also good, but a portion that was far too small for 7 euros. Still a great restaurant with a cool atmosphere and atmosphere and a clear recommendation from me.

This restaurant is a hit I could eat there every day but I'm a busy man and eat there once a month or the second month but that's perfect so it tastes better then.

Simply delicious food. It's best to go and see for yourself.

Very good, the best burgers in the region😋😋, 1st photo currywurst fries, second photo double burger sweet potato fries and 3rd photo rumpsteck spätzle and vegetables and homemade pear and thyme lemonade.

I have visited this establishment several times now and the food has always been very tasty, prepared by the hands of the chef Mr. M. Maschner, but now I was quite disappointed that that certain something was missing on my current visit. Now I found out that the talented chef was probably on vacation and I couldn't enjoy the meal due to his absence. I am of the opinion that this gentleman should no longer receive vacation as it would be detrimental to business. For better or worse, I will have to start a petition for the greater good. The best burgers in the region, friendly staff, also great salads. The best thing: you can put together your own burger 🍔 from lots of delicious ingredients.

We had dinner here together in the evening, Ripeye and T-Bone, both very tasty and filling, but a little overdone. The prices are a bit high, but still reasonable. The service was friendly, not intrusive. Unfortunately I can't say much good about the sanitary facilities, not really pleasant, a bit dirty. I would come here again, all in all we had a pleasant evening.

Top food, a bit pricey, otherwise really tasty. Unfortunately, medium was a little too raw for me this time, but otherwise there was no problem. Fries were great, coleslaw is just perfect. Nothing else to complain about. Would recommend.

Burgers to put together yourself and something for everyone. Yummy. Dessert was beautifully presented and delicious. A bit confusing where it goes out as soon as the ECE is closed.

Great burger restaurant. Very nicely designed. You can also get other burgers. Fries were also very good. The only thing we were missing was a burger for the kids. Otherwise really very good.

The first impression was ok. Everything seemed clean. It was well attended, but not too crowded in my opinion. Unfortunately, we still had to wait a long time until we were served. The drinks came relatively quickly, but the food took forever. About 30-40 minutes even though we only had the burger. The fries on the burger were lukewarm. So the dish went back and came back after about 10 minutes when the rest of us were still waiting for our meat. It was ok, but not exceptional. The portion definitely needs to be bigger. The burger we ordered was a joke! All in all, great atmosphere, initially visibly annoyed service. At least the waitress wasn't so annoyed anymore. Maybe we'll come back again.

Burgers are ok, but nothing really special. One of many, more or less, trendy burger restaurants. That certain something that stands out from the crowd is missing.

Service lady unfriendly. Food inferior. The fries were soaked in fat, transparent and brownish. The barbecue sauce was poured completely over the steak, so you couldn't taste any of the meat at all. Sauces and dips are usually served in a small bowl.

The food is really delicious! By far the tastiest burger joint around. However, you probably have to be lucky with the staff, because the last one we caught was very unfriendly and definitely not suited for the job :) that spoiled it a bit for us, but the food tastes so delicious that we will definitely eat there again.

Very fast service, the food is absolutely delicious and also nice and fresh.

Recently had a very tasty steak here. The price was reasonable and the portion was generous. But for us it's more of a restaurant at the end of a day of shopping in Ettlinger Tor than a restaurant where we consciously go in the evening. Nevertheless, a recommendation for the good steak (the burger from the neighboring table also looked very good ;-))

Super great, particularly cool restaurant with super friendly staff! We were spontaneously out and about in the shopping center this afternoon and spontaneously ended up here for lunch. There was only one place for us inside. But we were so impressed by the interior design that we were happy to sit down inside at a table that was actually a door😃. The service was very friendly and we were served quickly. The dishes were very, very tasty and beautifully prepared. Thank you for the lovely lunch with you! Keep it up! 👍🏻

The food tastes good, the prices for drinks are very high. Bottle of water 0.5 l costs €5...

Unfortunately that was nothing.. I was visiting yesterday and really wanted a good burger.. In any case, my Smashburger wasn't a Smashburger.. Stylish frozen patty, no crust, bacon was missing even though I had ordered and paid for it.. The whole thing in the brioche bun, so poorly topped that it completely fell apart. Overall, the taste was far too sour, a real shame, that was really incredibly sad. I ordered a burger for my companion, which was also prepared incorrectly. The chili cheese fries were okay, eating was quick, service was quick, but unfortunately there was no question as to whether everything was okay or anything like that. That's why my feedback here. Even though I'm not a fan of writing reviews like that, but for the expensive ones Prices, it has to be. Unfortunately, the toilet seat was also broken, so my companion had to go to the toilet somewhere else. I expected more if the burgers were to be the flagship of the store. Gladly no more. To date there has not been a decent burger shop in Karlsruhe 😔

Price/performance ratio doesn't fit - definitely not.

Unfortunately I had a very bad experience. The drinks we ordered didn't come at all, the service was very unfriendly. We had to get the menu ourselves, the staff seemed hopelessly overloaded. Unfortunately, the quality of the burgers is also poor, and the price/performance ratio is absolutely not right. It should be noted that the store was very busy. So unfortunately we don't recommend it.

Wir waren als Familie spontan nachmittags dort Essen. Zunächst setzen wir uns und es dauerte eine ganze Weile bis man uns wahrnahm und wir eine Karte bekamen. Nachdem wir endlich bestellt hatten kam das Essen relativ schnell aber die Getränke fehlten sowie eine Portion Pommes. Diese ließen auf sich warten bis wir fast fertig mit dem Essen waren. Als die Getränke dann kamen, passierte dem Kellner ein Missgeschick, einige Getränke fielen um und mein Oberteil, Hose sowie Tisch und Boden wurden nass. Der Kellner entschuldige sich, sagte wir würden Rabatt bekommen und wischte den Tisch dürftig ab. Dann sagte er hole was zum aufwischen. Es dauerte ca. 15-20 Minuten bis nach einem Wischmopp gesucht wurde, dann fiel auf das wohl keiner vorhanden war und es wurde mit Küchen Rolle notdürftig gewischt. Missgeschicke passieren, darin sehe ich nicht das Problem aber dass dann nicht zeitnah ordentlich sauber gemacht werden kann verstehe ich nicht. Das ganze Personal wirkte überfordert und unkoodiniert. Gefühlt versuchte der Barkeeper alles gleichzeitig zu machen. Die Speisen aus der Küche standen lange an der Ausgabe und so waren sie aller Wahrscheinlichkeit nach kalt bei den anderen Gästen angekommen. Die Toiletten vom Damen-WC waren offensichtlich leider auch lange nicht gereinigt geworden. Nachdem wir nach einer ganzen Weile bezahlen konnte musste man nochmal extra auf das Missgeschick mit den Getränken hinweisen und mein Burger und die kalten Pommes wurden nicht berechnet. Das gab dem ganzen dann nochmal einen miesen Beigeschmack. Ich war froh das wir danach nach Hause fahren konnte und meine Schwiegermutter mir schnell ein neues Tshirt gekauft hatte. Die Speisen und Getränke waren gut aber es war alles schief gelaufen was nur schief laufen kann. Sorry aber wir kommen nicht wieder. Bitte koordiniert nochmal euer Team, haltet eure Reinigungspläne ein. Und Reinigungsmaterial sollte doch auch immer vorhanden sein.

Very tasty burgers, the combination of baked Camembert with cranberry sauce is just great.

A little late in the evening we were received very hospitably and we were able to take a seat in one of the various cozy parts of the restaurant - it was a bit hot on the terrace. We didn't think we had to wait long, but our cheerful waiter Hans explained twice that it took longer because they wanted to guarantee quality. We knew that; it was delicious! The steaks are highly recommended (not even the specialty; those are the burgers) and the salad was also fresh and well filled. Worth repeating!

Simply the best. The Tomahawk Stake is insanely good and everything else was perfect. We found them via Google and I truly am thankful for this. We tried a couple of restaurants but Bratar was the best by far. The staff is great too. Thanks again Hans. You are a joy to have as a waiter.

The food and the ambience are good. Unfortunately the service is a disaster. We waited over 10 minutes until someone saw us. The working staff is overwhelmed and the rest of the staff sits at the counter and chats with each other or drinks drinks while sitting at the table in front of the guests. I don't mind, but first I would like to have the menu and something to drink a little quicker than 15 minutes. The first time I thought it was an exception and gave it another chance the next day. Unfortunately it was the same. The service employee didn't even say thank you for the generous tip. Too bad!!!

I was here for the first time 2 weeks ago. I liked it very much. We were served quickly and friendly. Here you can put together a burger the way you like it or order a menu. That's up to each individual. I had a menu and instead of regular fries, I had sweet potato fries. It was very tasty, the burger was so juicy and good. Meat was perfectly seared. Side dishes were also super tasty. Even my iced tea was beautifully presented. All in all it was a nice, tasty, quick stopover 😊

My wife and I visited Bratar for the first time and were super excited. Great ambience and mega burgers. My wife tried the lunchtime burger with Camembert. And I with my own topics. Great meat and great sauce. We can highly recommend bratar.

The hamburger was delicious. They cooked the meat exactly how I wanted it. The service was fast and the staff was very friendly. The tables were clean. When ordering a hamburger, you specify what you want inside. Although I only asked for cheese, it also came with onions and greens. They add these to the burgers by default. However, it was still good.

Good but expensive. I removed a point because I don't like the principle of charging for mayo and ketchup without telling the customer anything

Incredibly delicious for meat lovers. Very good sauces. The salads are also super tasty. Vegetables okay. However, as a vegetarian it's not entirely suitable, even if there are vegetarian alternatives. Service very attentive and friendly. Toilets made really cool. A must have must. We always enjoy coming back, whether inside or outside, the seating is very comfortable.

Down in ETC. Parking is possible in the ETC parking garage, but unfortunately it closes quite early. The salads are fresh, the burgers are big and delicious. Our service was very friendly and competent. Unfortunately, due to the location and the large windows, you feel like you're sitting on a platter.

I have never had a better burger in Karlsruhe than here. The service was friendly and quick. Short waiting time after ordering. Great, always happy.

Burger delicious BUT!!! Unfortunately I was really disappointed here, at the beginning I thought designing a burger myself sounded good, but the fact that the burger is added to a normal one on top is not an option for me, if I'm going to design it myself then completely. There were onions, tomatoes and cucumber on it that I didn't want at all and then just under €50 for 2 burgers, which is extortionate here. In any case, I won't come here anymore.

We were at Bratar on Saturday March 29th, 2024. Burgers were ok. I had a single with pineapple. The pineapple was grilled and very tasty. The meat was done and I didn't really like it. The fries were crispy. Ketchup was flavorful and tasty. The service was very attentive at the beginning but decreased towards the end. Didn't ask if it tasted good. No goodbye. Space was very tight with a wheelchair and right at the entrance to the toilet. The place was cool. Not even a little warm. Overall, very much in need of improvement. The price is very high and does not correspond to the quality.

Service was very nice, but the special requests were not forwarded. Burgers, yeah. Wouldn't eat there myself - just because of the kids. The toilets are worth seeing. Great facilities.

I had the cheese bomb burger, which I can really recommend. I found it positive that you could choose whether you wanted the patty to be fried medium or rare. Unfortunately I have to deduct one star because you had to pay 50ct extra for ketchup, mayonnaise or vegan mayonnaise and didn't get much for it. Otherwise, the food and the atmosphere were really great.

Food was good. On my tray was a burger 🍔 that we didn't know if we had ordered. Of course we looked at what was on there. At some point someone from the staff came, grabbed the burger and disappeared. And the worst thing was he promptly went to the next table.

After drinking your favorite coffee, you had to think about making plans. We were sitting on the street, it was cozy, the sun warmed us and unfortunately there was no umbrella to shade us.

Cool restaurant! Unfortunately, the cheese topping was cold. Burgers unseasoned, fries over salted and bacon bone hard. But it wasn't bad. Would try it again

I happened to have lunch at Bratar on March 11, 2024. Ambience modern/rustic, service person “Hans” was very nice and friendly. The two boys in the open kitchen were also on their toes. Had the beef steak from the lunch menu with croquettes, vegetables and salad. Food was good, steak had a good grilled taste. Unfortunately, I found the portion to be a bit too small. Vegetables Fresh and tasty, salad too. Holondaise sauce for beef takes a bit of getting used to. What I found a bit annoying were the huge cutlery wooden boxes on the table and the fact that EVERYTHING was served on one plate during the meal, so you had to be careful that nothing fell off the plate. A coke and food for just €20 was OK.

The three of us ate at Bratar. The service was quick and friendly. After just a few minutes we had the drinks on the table. Our order consisted of 3 citizen meals, which were also served in no time. Tastes very good. Not dry. Not too overloaded. We had a smash burger, a cheese bomb burger and one with mushrooms and arugula. Everyone was happy and full.

My favorite burger grill restaurant in Karlsruhe and has been for years! Delicious burgers that you can put together according to your wishes. Points deducted for placing the high chair in the toilet.... Unfortunately, that's a no-go!

My girlfriend and I spent the valentine's evening here and we both left pretty disappointed. Firstly, after making a reservation prior to coming in the restaurant, the table that we were sat down at, was extremly close to another one and we had to move our table to be able to get up and go to the toilet (for example) and the food was passed on, because the waiter could not get to us. Then, the menu was overwhelming and not detailed enough at the same time. I wanted to oreder a single burger without menu and without assembling it on my own (which was most of the menu), but apparently this is not possible. The price of the cocktail that I ordered was not correct as it turned out and the cocktail was the worst cocktail I have tried (I ordered Whiskey Sour ...). The waiter got the impression that I did not understand german and somewhat ignored me until the end of the night, despite me actively speaking in german to him. The food was okay, albeit plain and overpriced. The vegetarian burger of my girlfriend was pretty tasteless and with a lot of salad, that just did not add flavour. All in all, I do not recommend the restaurant further and would not come back.

Very tasty food + nice ambience + super attentive and friendly service = great meal/evening. We had a rump steak and a T bone steak. My rump steak was medium rare. Directly in the pan with delicious vegetables. Always very happy.

If you ask me, the best burger restaurant in the Karlsruhe district, wonderful ambience, tasty food and friendly service. Conclusion: SUPER restaurant for burger lovers 🍟🍔

Wie war’s -> naja bis ernüchternd. 1. das Ambiente ist ok bis schön. 2. die Bedienung lässt sich auf jeden Fall Zeit 3. das Besteck ist nicht sauber 4. die Brötchen sind kalt 5. der smashed Burger schmeckt ausschließlich(!!) nach Zucker. Von Rest ist nichts zu schmecken. 6. der Burger schmeckt allgemein kalt. Hier bekommt man ein lauwarmes Gericht zu essen. 7. die Pommes schmecken auch nur nach dem Gewürz und nach sonst nichts. Ergebnis: kalter & süßer Burger, nach Gewürz schmeckende Pommes + einen Grauburgunder = 29€ ohne Trinkgeld. Das ist bisschen sportlich bis frech.

Die Burger sind fantastisch. Alles auf dem Teller ist frisch. Der Patty auf dem Burger sehr lecker, egal ob Veggie oder Fleisch. Die Pommes sind knusprig. Die Preise sind okay. Es ist etwas dunkel in diesem Restaurant. Die Filiale in der Postgalerie hat ein ansprechenderes Ambiente. Das Servicepersonal ist sehr aufmerksam und freundlich.

Shattering my expectations, the food is tasty. The atmosphere is calm and very friendly waiters. I didn't think I would go to the same place for lunch for 2 days straight. But it's worth it. I personally recommend the coffee, cute.
