The onion cake is very good, but definitely too expensive and too small. The Federweisser was very good, but of course, it changes constantly. The chef can't be blamed for that.

We stopped here several times during our Bamberg vacation and always considered the Luitpold a safe and peaceful haven. The staff is very friendly and professional, and the service is fast and courteous. The seating is comfortable both inside and outside, not too crowded, and you can enjoy the view of the boulevard. We particularly liked the changing weekly menu.

Very beautiful city, definitely worth a visit!

I used to come here often, but this was definitely my last visit. The waiters take advantage of you, the wait times are very long, and the menus are so dirty you don't want to touch them. The food was OK. Anyone who remembers Luitpold from the past will be very disappointed. The two stars are only because the food was good.

According to Google Maps, this café is open until 11 p.m. However, if you arrive at 7:45 p.m. and want to order something to eat at 8:05 p.m., you'll be told that after 8 p.m., there's only a "small menu." In summary: salad or Wiener Schnitzel. My opinion: Kitchen closing at 9 p.m.: no problem. But not serving food at 8 p.m.: absolutely unacceptable. Then please post a clear notice on Google: Open until 11 p.m.; HOT MEALS ONLY UNTIL 8 p.m.!!! The attached photos are the menu. But beware: Only until 7:59 p.m.

Great place to sit outside in the sun. Very friendly service. I had salad with salmon. The salad tasted great, it was also fresh. Dressing fine. What didn't excite me was the pretty dead fried salmon and the two sad slices of baguette. And the price. Yes, you can now say that I didn't have to order the salad because I knew what I was getting in terms of price. But the fact is, the price of a salad is not justified despite "high energy costs and costs for employees."

Moin Folks, nun ja, direkt neben einem guten Hotel, die Lage sehr praktisch und schick, rustikal eingerichtet. Der Wintergarten hat einen schicken Charme. Beifolgend die sehr umfassende Karte, Getränke, Speisen, Frühstück, echt vielversprechend und das was wir hatten, sehr lecker. Das Bier auf den Bildern, sehr geschmackvoll. Wir kommen gerne wieder, war angenehm geilogalaktisch ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

My husband and I almost haven't come in, because I saw 1-2 "bad" reviews about food, but I'm very glad we decided otherwise! The waiters were very attentive, the beers were great and the food (Flammkuchen and Baguette) was very tasty as well. We came here to get 1-2 beers and something good to eat, this place met our expectations for sure.

Hier ins Luitpold kann man immer einkehren, egal zu welcher Zeit. Heute versorgte uns eine super nette Dame mir allerlei Gutem aus der Küche, was alles sehr gut gekocht war. Vor allem die Crostini waren perfekt gemacht und die Drinks dazu auch. Der Preis passt auch, also kommen wir wieder, auch wenn die Küchen- und Öffnungszeiten schon sehr früh sind.

You can always stop by here at Luitpold, no matter what time of day it is. Today a super nice lady gave us all sorts of good things from the kitchen, all of which were very well cooked. The crostini in particular were perfectly made and so were the drinks. The price is also right, so we'll come back, even if the kitchen and opening times are very early.

Service was good. Ambience was clean. Unfortunately the food wasn't good. Broccoli casserole with penne was unfortunately cold. The side salad was very small and didn't seem fresh. Dressing amount overdosed. When we asked the service, the salad was recreated. The noodles were put back in the oven. Then the result was suitable and justified the price. However, due to the expense of the complaint, I wouldn't go there again.

All sorts of people pass by here and sometimes you meet by chance on the way to the theater or the Lange Straße shopping street. The interior impresses with its elegant stucco decoration, creating an atmosphere of nostalgic sophistication. There is a bar and one or two quiet corners that invite you to relax. The ambience is changeable and reflects the vibrant life of the city. Sometimes it's quiet, sometimes very crowded, but always welcoming. The service staff is always friendly and ready for a chat or two when the house isn't full. A visit to this café is like a little journey through time and offers a charming mix of historical elegance and modern city life.

The Cafe has some nice indoor and outdoor seating. The menu provides a variety options such as Burger, Bavarian tradional food, and Salads. The Spinach Dunplings were dry and bland. The Potato Dumplings were great with a well seasoned creamy mushroom sauce. The Veggie Burger was so so and a little bit dry.

I like cheese and eggs for breakfast. The “All Cheese” breakfast Would be exactly my thing. The management apparently doesn't eat cheese, yogurt, muesli or jam. Otherwise they would have noticed the quality. The look fits and the service is good and frequent. There was nothing on the breakfast that I can recommend. The rolls and the slice of baquette are tasteless. Fresh canned fruits. When you taste fruit yogurt with fresh berries, you don't taste any freshness, but rather the sugar. And sugar muesli too. What kind of jam? I had a green tea. The tea tasted calcified and I also doubt whether the water was 70 Crad. Have you tried this before? - No thanks - Healthy and tasty are different.

We had lunch there, there is a nice selection of dishes, the price-performance ratio is appropriate.

Kurz und knapp: enttäusched, völlig überteuert, werde dort nicht mehr hingehen. Mussten 1 h aufs Essen warten. Vorspeise Bruschetta, 3 Scheiben Weißbrot mit Tomaten und geschätzt 5 Spänen Parmesan für €7,50. Dazu 2x Aperitiv Typ Aperol, bestand überwiegend aus Eiswürfeln für ebenfalls je €7,50. Hauptgericht Nr. 1: bunte Nudeln mit Spargelspitzen, alles sehr überschaubar, für ca. €14; Nr. 2: Elsässer Flammenkuchen, trocken, sehr sparsam mit Schmand und sonstigen Zutaten, ohne jeglichen Geschmack für ca. €12, dazu noch 2 Getränke. Die Rechnung: € 60,10!! Ich weiß nicht, was die Köche dort beruflich machen, aber wer einen Elsässer Flammenkuchrn anbietet, sollte mal zumindest das Rezept gelesen haben (und ich erwarte nicht, dass er das Zubereiten im Elsass gelernt hat). Positiv: die Bedienung war sehr freundlich und hat sich um Schadensbegrenung bemüht.

Nice ambience Friendly employees

The service staff was very nice and attentive. We sat outside in the shade and I had a cheeseburger with a side salad and a waffle with cinnamon sugar for dessert. Both dishes tasted good. The location next to the Hotel Bamberger Hof was ideal for us as we only had to take a few steps to the restaurant. The restaurant accepts card payments and the menu also includes some vegetarian and vegan dishes; breakfast, lunch, cakes and dinner can be found on the menu. Traditional inn dishes, salads, sandwiches, burgers and pizzas are offered. Everyone will find something on the menu here.

The food just wasn't good... The spinach dumplings were dry and just not cooked through. Likewise, my companion only got 20 french fries... which you could count on the plate, as an alternative to the potato salad, which is mixed with bacon... The employee's answer was simply: "Yes, if you had something from the start said ..." I wonder why they don't prepare everything from the start so that there is no waste of food... really sad, considering the price-performance ratio...

The Sunday buffet was great, nothing was missing. The tables for two are, like almost everywhere, a bit small, the staff is super nice and accommodating in a way you rarely know. We are looking forward to Mother's Day brunch.

I went to this place because it was close to my accommodation and seemed to sell traditional German food. I went in and told the clerk that there was only one person, and he showed me which seats were available. I sat looking at the playground. The menu was in German. Since I don't know German, I asked if there was an English menu and the clerk said there was no English menu, but the clerk could translate it for me. So, when I asked for a cold drink with the meat menu, they kindly translated the menu one by one. It seemed like you could add water and drink it like ade, but I drank it as juice. I ordered peach juice with ice, and it was soggy yet refreshing and so delicious. We recommend ordering size 0.4. JMT. I ordered the meat as Gebratene schweinelendchen. The pork was cooked gently and the mushroom cream sauce went very well with the meat. It looked like a type of pasta that came with it, but it went well with the sauce. Spongy surface and texture. The staff member asked if the food was okay as he took the plate, but the plate was already completely empty. I really enjoyed it. The pork was cut very well, chewy and soft, went well with the sauce and was very delicious. Personally, the waffles were better than Belgian waffles. At first, no knife was provided and only a dessert fork and dessert spoon were provided, so I thought, 'Why aren't they providing a knife for the Chinese New Year?', but there was a reason. Just soft. The waffle melts in your mouth. Just cut it with a spoon and fork and eat it. The texture of the waffle was also crazy. It’s really delicious, so be sure to try it. I don't regret it. Friendly staff, delicious food, and comfortable atmosphere. The price seems to be reasonable too. Lunch + dessert + drink all came to 28 euros.

How can it be that four (!) operators were visible, but we were apparently invisible to them? 🪄 I'm still puzzling over this. Maybe I unknowingly took the Hogwarts invisibility test? 🤔 We neither sat in the far corner nor wore our invisibility cloak. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I've never experienced a situation where you sit somewhere for 15 minutes and the service simply ignores you. 😳 We then got up and left. So I can't rate the food and drink, nor can I judge how much you leave here per person. The toilets are okay, but are in the basement.

Always super friendly and fast staff, especially the regular staff are excellent. The price/performance ratio is also right, because for everyone who likes to complain - entrepreneurs also have to pay the increased prices for minimum wages, energy, etc. I would like to honor everyone who serves their guests in a friendly manner (!) day and night, weekends and holidays. The Luitpold is one of our favorite restaurants. We especially like to treat ourselves to the Sunday breakfast buffet. The historical ambience exudes comfort. You can tell from the guests that they enjoy being here. The offer is put together with love. A wide selection is offered at the buffet on Sunday. The service: exemplary and very accommodating. Worst breakfast brunch ever! Everything is constantly empty and is only refilled when guests request it, which can take a good quarter of an hour. If you come a little later, some things will no longer be available and will no longer be replenished. There are baked rolls that are still frozen in the middle. Coffee isn't refilled at the end either. An absolute joke for the price! The only plus point, the service is very friendly.

Wir sind gestern zur Faschingsparty gegangen. Wir warteten über 2 Stunden draußen in kälte und durften trotzdem nicht rein. Mitlerweile sind ca. 100 Leute weggegangen, und danach 6 Personen reingelassen. Wahnsinnig !!!!Schlechteste Organisation die ich je gesehen hatte. Danke Luitpold Café für die tolle Zeit.😔

We were there for the women's carnival. Always highly touted, we were more than disappointed. Entrance fee €6, bad DJ and nothing else on offer. An Aperol for €7 that comes from a pre-mixed bottle from Aldi is, in my opinion, more than a joke. Likewise with Hugo. The other women probably saw it the same way and they mainly drank Desperados. A colleague behind the counter has probably not been there that long and she is feeling that too. People are constantly looking at her and commenting on everything - absolutely unprofessional and if I were her I would quickly run away again. There are enough jobs in the catering industry. I hope that several of yesterday's visitors have the same opinion and either give feedback to the Luitpold or simply don't go there next year. People rest on old laurels and think it will just be accepted. Next year it would be better to go back to a village carnival and experience more and be served reasonable drinks - what a shame! The toilets were positive throughout the evening, thanks to the cleaner!

There are buffets in other places because there is much more choice at a much more reasonable price.

A few weeks ago we ordered, among other things, the Luitpold salad to pick up, but unfortunately we forgot to add the meat when we picked it up. The boss then called us personally, apologized several times and offered that we would be happy to get a Luitpold salad on the house next time. Today we accepted the offer and called him, he remembered immediately and gave us not only the salad, but also the burger and a bottle of sparkling wine. We were both very positively surprised and after this experience we can absolutely recommend the Luitpold! Here it is definitely important that customers are satisfied and want to come back, which is unfortunately no longer a given these days.

Wir haben uns mit Freunden im Luitpold getroffen. Absolut freundlich war der Empfang und die Bestellungen kamen zügig, aber man hatte auch Verständnis, dass wir uns unterhalten und nicht so schnell beim aussuchen waren. Nach einer Weile kam der kleine Hunger und wir wollten uns am Thai Curry versuchen. Das war leider keine gute Idee. Das grüne Curry wurde als extra scharf angepriesen, davon haben wir nichts gemerkt. Die Qualität und die Menge haben viele Wünsche offen gelassen, was wir als sehr schade empfunden haben.

Very disappointing that vouchers that are slightly older are rigorously rejected. After all, a lot of money was spent on this for which no one got anything in return. You should be ashamed of taking €50 for a voucher in 2017 and now calling it worthless. I am also aware that the vouchers are only valid for 3 years, but almost all other Bamberg restaurateurs have repeatedly accepted these vouchers, and even a certain discount would be completely acceptable. As it is, it's a nuisance.

War am 5 September 2021 zum Abendessen hier, ein freundlicher Kellner hat mich bedient. Habe ein alkoholfreies Weizen bestellt, dazu eine Pizza Margharete mit Salat, hat mir gut geschmeckt. Sitze hier gerne entspannt auf der Bank unterm Schirm, mit Blick auf den Schönleinsplatz. Hier ist man nicht mittn drin aber auch nicht weit weg vom Geschehen, also sau gemütlich hier. PS: was mir von männlichen Gästen gar nicht gefällt, ist das Verhalten auf dem WC, ob die das so auch zuhause praktizieren Update: 01 Januar 2024 Heiße Schokolade und Käsekuchen, ein Gedicht 😇 sehr gut

Für den großen Andrang am 24.12. zum Frühstück nicht gut organisiert. Zu voll, eng und teils unschön hergerichtete Tische. Auf ein Teller mit 1 Sennel, Butter u. Marmelade 45 Min gewartet und Weißwurst war ausverkauft. Könnte man für das Geld besser machen.

Wartezeit auf Getränke leider über eine Stunde, Getränke teilweise warm/ohne Eis (wir haben kalt/mit Eis gewünscht) Essen teilweise kalt, Service langsam, haben den Tisch selbst abgeräumt

Eine riesige, voll ausgestattete Bar. Gemütliches Ambiente und nicht zu modern. Viele nette Gäste und natürlich auch Servicemitarbeiter. Man fühlt sich hier direkt wohl. Eine klare Empfehlung für einen Besuch!

Sehr gut sind Küche und Service

Hay dos entradas. Una con una entrada historial, la otra moderna con un sillas y mesas enfrente.

Waren vor ca. 3 Wochen dort Sonntags Frühstücken bin wirklich enttäuscht. Das Buffet kostet 18 Euro pro Person und ist mehr als dürftig für den Preis wenig Obst, Standart Aufschnittplatte schinken, salami, Käse es gibt immerhin Lachs und warme Auswahl gekochte Eier, Rührei, Bacon. Leider müssen sich Betreiber von solchen Cafés mit Frühstücksbuffet von Hotels und Ketten (Cafe Extrablatt, De Sol) vergleichen und diese bieten ein mindestens genauso frisches Buffet allerdings mit mehr Auswahl zum geringeren Preis an. Ja das Ambiente ist schön und es steht mitten in der Innenstadt das ist sicherlich nicht günstig zwecks Kosten aber dann verlangt von mir aus 25 Euro und macht etwas besonders daraus so ein Standart Frühstück bekomme ich in jedem Preiseinstigshotel.

Auf der Wochenkarte ist immer etwas Leckeres zu finden.
