I can only highly recommend booking a table in advance and then ordering the delicious dishes. The portions are very generous and the food is super delicious, and the value for money is excellent.

Not authentic Chinese. Overall, the dish lacked flavor (spices, roasted aromas) and the noodles were just watery. Only the Tiger beer tasted Asian Very loud and the music just makes it worse. Feeling good is different.

It's not a long menu, which I consider a good thing, but you're sure to find something you like. The food was tasty and at least the quantity of the main course was impressive. The service is good, but tends to be slow when the restaurant is busy. The prices are reasonable, considering the quality of the food, the location and the interior design of the restaurant.

Wir waren gestern das erste Mal da und es war mehr als enttäuschend. Wir gehen sehr viel Asiatisch essen, aber so schlecht haben wir noch nie gegessen. Tiefkühl Garnelen und Fertigfleisch mit so viel Sojasoße versetzt, dass uns danach richtig schlecht wurde. Alles schmeckt gleich. Die angeblich selbstgemachten Nudeln sind hart und schwimmen ebenfalls in Sojasoße. Das einzige was gut war, waren die Getrönke, obwohl auch diese mehr als überteuert sind. Also wir können es auf keinen Fall empfehlen. Kommen nicht mehr wieder.

My wife and I have been eating hot plates at the "Evil Chinese" 2 or 3 times a month for several years. We were and are always amazed, including today, by how delicious the food tastes there. We are happy to accept the approx. 30 kilometer journey to get there. The service staff there is very attentive and always friendly! I can recommend the restaurant - also on behalf of my wife - with a clear conscience regarding the food and service. Some of the furniture looks worn out, which is why I only want to give it 3 stars for the ambience.

The food was really tasty and the staff was friendly and very accommodating - you immediately felt at home. The decor is nice and inviting, although it could probably get a bit noisy when it's at full capacity. The prices are okay, but could be a little bit better. All in all, a recommended place for a relaxed meal!

A mixed experience The restaurant is in a very good location and offers a nice, modern atmosphere that invites you to a relaxing evening. The service was good overall: attentive, friendly and always tried to accommodate our requests. The restaurant was very busy, which obviously speaks to its popularity. The prices for the main courses range between 19 and 25 euros, which seems reasonable for the quality and ambience of the restaurant. To start, we opted for the starter platter for 2 (€20), which had a good selection of different treats. We would particularly like to highlight the spring rolls, which were perfectly crispy and tasted very convincing. The fried wontons were also very good – crispy and tasty. The chicken skewers were well seasoned and juicy, while the green dumplings were okay overall - this makes you wonder if they're really homemade. For the main course we chose the wonton noodle soup (€19.90), which unfortunately wasn't entirely convincing. There were only three wontons, which was a bit too few for us. Although the noodles were al dente, there was something doughy about them that made them a little harder to eat, and the broth seemed more standardized and less homemade. We also had fried flat rice noodles with shrimps (€21). The shrimp were well cooked and the vegetables were fresh and crunchy, which we really liked. The taste of the flat rice noodles was good overall, but nothing special. We also tried fried flat rice noodles with beef. Overall, these were rather sweet, which we personally didn't like. Again, the vegetables were fresh and well cooked, but the sweet taste of the sauce made the pasta seem less successful to us. Another irritating point was the garnish on all the plates: There was a large sprig of curly parsley on each plate - was that intended as decoration? Carrots and radishes were also on the plates, but unfortunately they were neither marinated nor seasoned, which we found to be a shame as it made them seem more like a side dish than a flavor addition. Overall, the restaurant offers a solid experience that still has potential for improvement in some areas. There are certainly tasty dishes, but some could use some improvement in sophistication and presentation. Overall, we would have expected more for the price and the ambience.

The Evil Chinese in the Medienhafen in Düsseldorf is the best Chinese restaurant I have ever eaten at. The vegetables were freshly prepared, the duck was crispy and low in fat. The homemade noodles were also to die for. The conditions were very friendly and explained everything very well. We were very satisfied and therefore give it 5 stars. Keep it up!!!!

The food is very tasty, but unfortunately there are hardly any dishes that are cooked without flavor enhancers, so unfortunately I have to live with the fact that I feel bad afterwards or that I only eat 2 certain dishes. You can't choose whether you want the other dishes cooked naturally, you have to take them as they are. The service is friendly, but it's not like anyone cares if it's your birthday, even if you say so when ordering a table. The only thing that is said is that you are not allowed to bring your own cake and that if you want to bring it with you, you have to let us know in advance and then you have to pay something extra. That's very bizarre and not exactly customer-friendly. Unfortunately, my children love this restaurant because it's simply hip and of course tastes very good with all the flavor enhancers, but I prefer the cozy, nice Italian restaurant who just thinks it's great to give you an extra treat when you go there get there on your birthday. Oh well, if you book a table early, you'll be kicked out again at a certain point because the table will then be taken again, but that's the case in a lot of restaurants these days. The ambience is really nice, but it is very, very loud. Well, I think you just have to be the type for this restaurant and your intestines don't have to care about what substances it absorbs. Then you can definitely spend a very nice and delicious evening there.

The food was delicious, that's why it is recommended. The ambience itself is quite ok (point deducted at this point). It was very busy, which speaks for the restaurant, but correspondingly very loud. The tables are placed very close together, so that you can hear everything from the table next to you, but the people you're talking to can't always hear it. The service wasn't necessarily friendly either, but rather slightly annoyed (my personal feeling, someone else may have felt it differently). But that could also be due to the time of year with many groups of Christmas celebrations.

We had a wonderful evening with incredibly delicious food. The service staff was super friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere was simply great - perfect for our team event. Thank you for the great support and this lovely evening!

I was here with colleagues in the evening. It is very loud and hectic in the restaurant. I had crispy duck with vegetables, the vegetables were cooked with a lot of coriander and were inedible for me Unfortunately the restaurant failed for me.

Unfortunately not an overwhelming experience. The hot plate of vegetables and tofu was swimming in sauce. Some of the rice was not completely cooked. The beef strip was good. Unfortunately, the flat rice noodles were stuck together in a lump that was difficult to eat. Almost all dishes on the menu contain flavor enhancers. The service was professional and attentive.

We had made a reservation for one evening and were shown to our table on time. Unfortunately, the space situation was anything but pleasant: our table was positioned so closely between others that we were only five centimeters away from the neighboring tables on the right and left. As a result, we heard every word of our table neighbors' conversations - and vice versa, of course. That was extremely uncomfortable and didn't allow for a private atmosphere. What was particularly disturbing was that one person was sitting in a corner. As soon as that person had to get up, I was forced to get up too because there was simply not enough space. This significantly disrupted the flow of food and didn't exactly improve the mood. For the money we paid, I would have expected a much more pleasant atmosphere. The food was OK, but by no means exceptional. Overall it was a rather disappointing evening.

I was there shortly after 10 p.m. to grab something to eat. As soon as I was inside, someone called out to me from the other side asking if they could help me. I immediately felt unwelcome. The employee then came over and repeated his question in a rude and annoyed manner. I was probably interrupting his conversation with his colleague. When I said that I hoped he could help me because I would like to order take-out, he said that the kitchen was already closed. I was surprised and said that on Google it says open until 11pm. He then said: “Restaurant yes, order no!” I was really disappointed by the rude tone and left. Too bad...

Very friendly staff and quick service. The food and cocktails were excellent. The portion sizes are very decent, so you should take that into account in advance. I would like to have the restaurant in my home country. That's why I'll definitely come back on my next trip to Düsseldorf.

We had dinner there this evening. The food was super tasty and the restaurant is great. Unfortunately, the waitress (a younger Asian woman) in the area where we sat was quite unfriendly and condescending. The kitchen had shouted them together at such a loud volume that the entire restaurant couldn't ignore it. But the rest of the waitresses seemed friendly. We would still come back, but let someone else serve us next time as we were otherwise very satisfied.

Menu has some good lunch options. It changes every week. The food is good and you get good value for your money. The service is most of the time quite fast, but it can take more time when it is busier.

We hebben helaas niet plaats genomen in het restaurant. Vooraf gereserveerd via internet. Daar kon je aangeven of je voor 1,2 of 3 uur wilde reserveren. We hadden 2 uur aangegeven. Toen we aankwamen was er echter maar voor 1 uur plaats, dus zijn we weer vertrokken. Erg commercieel en niet klantgericht. De tafel moet snel weer leeg voor een volgende gast. 1 uur op een zaterdagavond is niet uit eten gaan. Vervolgens bij een Italiaans Restaurant een straat verder heerlijk gegeten zonder tijdsframe. The shop is visually beautiful, but overcrowded, table to table, loud and uncomfortable. Seeing and being seen is more important here than eating. The food was served within a few minutes, so it wasn't freshly prepared for the guest. The taste is average, the convenience is greetings. The waitress was friendly but fake, I don't even want to talk to the lady at the reception about it. All in all, the store only thrives on its location, otherwise it wouldn't have existed for a long time. By the way, that was the third chance within a few years, so it's not a snapshot. I will no longer visit the shop at Medienhafen and would rather go to the really good and authentic restaurants.

Unfortunately, the restaurant only performed averagely. While the food was okay, it didn't have anything special that set it apart from other Chinese restaurants. The udon noodles didn't taste exactly homemade or freshly cooked either. In addition, they were brought to the table lukewarm, which significantly affected the enjoyment. Overall, I would have expected more, things were different a few years ago. Drink selection okay, some beers were not available even though they were on the menu. There was no freshly tapped beer and the coffee machine was broken.

The food is great even though it's a bit expensive, but fills you without a doubt. The staff is very friendly and proactive, and we got our meal within 15-20 minutes. The ambience is very nice and calm with some music. We were fighting with a random fly, and that was the only discomfort we had during our visit. However, it could have been a bit cheaper. Update on 2024 Aug: The prices haven’t increased a lot, so now they’re more on-par with other places. Quality is really good, as it was. 😇

An authentic restaurant where you can experience Chinese style 🥰

We sat comfortably in the outdoor area and were served in a very friendly manner. The food was an absolute delight – authentic flavors, freshly prepared and really tasty. Always happy when we are in Düsseldorf.

We were there for lunch yesterday. The food came quickly, but unfortunately it wasn't as good as you're used to. The tofu wasn't seasoned at all and tasted like nothing. The rice was very dry and didn't taste fresh (some of it was really hard). Unfortunately, the service seemed very annoyed and was generally very unfriendly. Too bad. Basically, I like coming here. I like the atmosphere and, above all, the flexible design of the dishes (you can always switch to a vegetarian dish with tofu or just vegetables instead of meat). Unfortunately this time it was nothing.

Wir wollten Essen,waren um 14:00 Uhr da,Getränke und Essen bestellt,als die Getränke kamen hat die Kellenerin dann gesagt das um 14:30 Uhr schliessen. Das hätten die Damen uns vorher sagen sollen,als ich nach eine Ladekabel gefragt hat. Dann sagte die Kellnerin das Essen ist Fertig. Wir waren sauer haben ohne zu Bezahlen weil wir nicht mal was getrunken haben aber mit Hunger gegangen We wanted food, we got there at 2:00pm, ordered drinks and food, when the drinks came the waitress said they closed at 2:30pm. Ladies should have told us this beforehand when I asked for a charging cord. Then the waitress said the food was ready. We were annoyed that we didn't pay as we didn't even drink anything but we left hungry.

At first glance we thought: phew, they have to justify the prices. Then came the food... it was incredibly delicious, and not only that, the portions were amazing! Any time. We were all super satisfied - a little tip: leave out the starter, it's also incredibly tasty, but the main course is just amazing 🫶 and that's meant as an absolute recommendation. We'd love to come back. Ps: Despite no reservation, they made every effort to offer us a place! Another plus point! ☺️ we'll be back!

Disappointing - expectations were far exceeded. Starting with the query about a dish, we couldn't be given correct information, as it turned out in the end from the boss's son. Drinks came quickly. The food arrived 20 minutes later and only after asking 3 times from 3 different waiters. The kitchen would have forgotten. This is what happens. The food, the hot tofu plate, came very quickly. Boiling so that the sauce is still splattering. Food good so far. Great sauce, but the tofu was of poor, if not poor, quality. The waiter didn't even apologize for any delays. Not even when we mentioned it during the payment process. Instead, in our opinion, he reacted very rebelliously. He was the boss's son and something like that would happen. Still no excuse. Generally a very hectic atmosphere, especially on a Monday evening. It's a shame about the beautiful restaurant. No recommendation from us.

We were there with a group of 11 people. Unfortunately the service was very unfriendly. At times she came across as very annoyed or listless. Drinks or bottles were held at the top of the bottle neck, which is not hygienic. The cocktails were okay. But nothing more. The food was relatively bland and people mostly didn't like it. For the price you would expect a particularly tasty meal, but unfortunately that wasn't the case. The starter plate for two people is almost a disgrace. In terms of price, it's worth choosing individual starters. Conclusion: it is not worth a second visit.

The waitress simply charged an additional 5 euros tip and didn't show us the bill when we paid... I guess she thought it would go through like that. When asked, she simply added it because “otherwise she would have to pay it back”(?). Be careful what you pay...

It's not easy for me to give a review here. There is a pleasant atmosphere and the service is absolutely professional and appropriately friendly. The menu is not overloaded and yet everyone will surely find something to their taste here. I chose a hot plate of crispy chicken. The portion was generous, beautifully presented and, above all, delicious. Unfortunately, my (generally very insensitive) stomach reacted to the meal with a threatening rumble on the way home. Out of consideration for the reader, I will spare us a description of further developments. After an hour it was quiet again. Unfortunately, I am 100% sure that it was not an accidental ailment and somehow that has to be reflected in my judgment.

We would particularly like to highlight the service at the table from Sissi. She was extremely accommodating and always there when you needed her. Thanks to her we felt completely comfortable – a real service professional! Thank you, dear Sissi, for this great evening. We'll definitely be back!

Good food with terrible service Ordered drinks for 3 people at 7:00 p.m. Issued at 7:40 p.m. A small appetizer arrived about 50 minutes after ordering. The main course came at 9:00 p.m. Basically you could have left after the starter due to the immense time delay. It was commented that there is currently a lot to do. However, this is no excuse for a restaurant. If it is known that there are not enough staff, then tables in the outdoor area must be removed or, as the owner, I have to ensure that there are staff available on a Saturday evening. We weren't the only ones who complained about the service that evening. Because it's not just a problem with the service staff, but also with the kitchen staff. Furthermore, the sanitary facilities should be checked once in the course of an evening. The taste of the food was OK, but strangely enough we had a grumbling stomach afterwards. Taking all aspects into account, we will no longer visit the restaurant. It was more like a food court in an indoor shopping hall (luckily we sat outside).

Very disappointed. We ate there for the first time today. Sit down at 7 p.m., received starter around 8:20 p.m. and main courses around 9:30 p.m. Unfortunately we had to cancel our movie tickets because we couldn't make it to the 9 p.m. screening. I have to admit, I wouldn't normally have written a bad review. It can happen that you have to wait and the food was really delicious! But what I find bold, and unfortunately I only realized in the parking garage - we were promised two free drinks because we had to wait so long and I found that very accommodating. In the end, my friend specifically asked which drinks would be paid for. On the way to the parking garage my friend told me how much we paid and I became supportive. After adding up our drinks and food, we apparently didn't get any drinks on the house, which made us feel a bit ripped off because the waitress apparently lied to us. You don't even have to offer something like that if you don't intend to do it. Since everything is digital, it's hard to see everything. Unfortunately we didn't get a receipt for the order because we paid by card. Very unfortunate. Unfortunately we don't go there anymore and after this experience we don't recommend it either.

The name is a brilliant USP, you don't forget it, just like the quality of the food. Authentically Asian with European nuances, very well combined and tastefully prepared. The terrace is nicely designed and the audience is mixed. Only the service doesn't quite keep up when the restaurant is full. You can't eat better anywhere than there.

Yesterday we had dinner at the Bösen Chinese restaurant at the Medienhafen. Unfortunately the service was subpar. We were given the menu and the order was taken. Drinks and an appetizer platter also came to the table. Unfortunately, no waiter has been available for us since then. The drinks were empty (31 degrees) and the appetizer plate was also empty. Unfortunately, no one felt responsible to ask whether you would like to continue with the main course or whether you would like to drink something else. The service staff preferred to stand together and chat. Afterwards, a waitress walked past our table three times and definitely saw that everything was empty. Unfortunately, after the 4x, I had to draw my attention to myself and ask whether I could continue with the main course. Food was tasty and sufficient. Unfortunately for me it's not worth a second visit due to the poor service. Unfortunately this is the second time this has happened.

Courteous service, relaxed outdoor atmosphere. But the food was disappointing. If you're expecting authentic cuisine, you're unfortunately in the wrong place here. Dishes very tailored to European customers. Hardly any seasoning and no spiciness, although very spicy was requested. The poor preparation continues with the cocktails. It's a shame... it can only get better.

Nice food but fairly rude staff. Was asked to move table due to their mistake. I don’t have an issue of being asked as it was clearly busy However I was quite rudely asked considering it was their mistake as they sat me there. The worst part was I was then ignored at the back of the restaurant when bigger tables were served first. Not impressed and poor service.

The food at the evil Chinese was really good. You can find Chinese classics here, with authentic spices. The restaurant itself is stylishly decorated and everything was clean. The service could be a little friendlier. We didn't really feel welcome, but it just depended on the waiter's mood. Everyone has a bad day, but this shouldn't necessarily affect the customer. All in all, it's worth a visit because the food tastes good and the portions are really big, which justifies the slightly higher price for the main courses.

Den Gesamteindruck zu diesem Laden kann man am besten anhand der Tatsache beschreiben, dass man bei der Bestellung einer Flasche Sprudelwasser einfach Leitungswasser bekommt - und zwar für EUR 7,- . Das sagt alles. Geschmacksverstärker ohne Ende, lausiges Essen, miserabler Service. Nie wieder! .
