Borussia Restaurant in Frankfurt am Main

The food is really good, the portions are very generous and the staff are friendly. The prices aren't cheap but they are OK. Two things that bothered me this week: firstly, the way the staff were dressed. In a place like this, I expect a certain level of professionalism and not waitresses who look like they've just come from the skate park (not a bad thing in itself, but that has no place here). Secondly, the noise level in the dining room was unbearable for me. The acoustics are terrible and the owner should think about investing in soundproofing, that would really make a difference. If you can't understand your own words when you're talking, I could have had a good meal there on my own, but I personally can't have a nice evening there in company.

The menu was very tasty. The wine recommendation went perfectly with it.

2nd part December 24 Very nice and prompt service, the food (as already described) was successful. Also recommended in winter! 1st part September 24 Great address for delicious food and drink. You won't find Chichi, so it has a great feel-good factor. Very good value for money. Dedicated staff with full customer focus. Atmosphere with a view of the Main without the usual trench coat faces, very mixed visitor clientele. Diverse like Frankfurt. A recommendation!

Typical Frankfurt Stubb with good food and friendly service. One star deducted for the toilet ambience. They are clean but old and do not correspond to the standard of the restaurant.

The Wiener Schnitzel was correctly prepared with veal and tasted very good. The location has a bit of a sports restaurant atmosphere, but offers fine cuisine. Good and fast service.

Great restaurant, we've been there three times before Christmas to eat the delicious goose with dumplings, red cabbage and chestnuts. Great teamwork, very friendly and always there to help guests. Would dine there again, even in the summer with a parking space.

A very good restaurant on the Main in Frankfurt. I wasn't expecting it at all, but we and our guests were even more pleased. Really very good service, everyone was happy. The food was delicious, even the vegetarians had a good selection. All in all, we'd love to come back by bike, it's a nice tour and we're also looking forward to using the outdoor area.

On Saturday evening shortly after 9 p.m. we got a delicious rump steak with friendly service. The starter salad was also delicious and the atmosphere in the restaurant was appropriate and very good. I'd love to come back here :-)

The food was really good. My bar for the best steak I've ever eaten is pretty high. After a long time, I got a very good rump steak here again. This is number 2 in my rankings. Hats off to the chef! And let's not forget, the rump steak was on the recommendation menu, as part of a 3-course menu for a couple of thirty euros. Maybe the meat was a matter of luck and is not always available. For dessert I chose the mango sorbet. It was a poem 🤌

Although at a prime location and great typical „Biergarten“ atmosphere, the food, specifically the Wiener Schnitzel with veal (Kalb) disappoints when compared to Solzers‘ or the Werkskantine‘s Wiener Schnitzel. Especially at the price of 26€. More like a 12-16€ Schnitzel quality. All in all was great as other food seemed to be liked a lot. So I’ll give the food a 3 just for. Schnitzel. Rest was 5/5.

Went there spontaneously as a couple, without a reservation. The service lady immediately tried to find space inside because it was too cool on the terrace. The restaurant was full and so the noise level was very high as the walls are not well insulated. Food very tasty! Spinach salad: delicious!

Inconspicuous from the outside. Once you're inside, the restaurant has a decent ambience. Service and food excellent. The fish dishes in particular are always on point. We always like to come back. Reservation is almost always necessary.

Delicious food with apple cider and Königspilsner.

We had lunch outside in the most wonderful summer weather. Through the trees in cooling shade. Free parking right in front of the door, directly on the Main and at the Gerbermühle jetty of the Primus Line, a top location. However, the view of the Main is hardly possible due to the parking lot. The food came very quickly, so it must have been prepared, but it was still very tasty and, above all, plentiful. Price/performance ratio appropriate for the location. The service staff were friendly across the board, one thing or another was forgotten and had to be requested twice. From my point of view, it's understandable when the beer garden is full and there's a lot of stress. Cash and card payments are possible, the toilets are clean, but not barrier-free, and you have to climb a few steps to get inside. Reservation strongly recommended. All in all, a very nice place to visit, we will definitely be back and would be happy to recommend Borussia.

Today I was with my girlfriend and looked at Tik Tok beforehand and drove 40 km to try it out, but that was my mistake and I thought to myself, why did I actually drive there. Employees are very unfriendly and don't greet guests and they shoot guests with their eyes. As I knew it, at the Iranian restaurant you get delicious rice, but it was very dry. Soup was very very tasty. I will never recommend this restaurant and I will never go there again.

Perfect lunch on a rainy Wednesday lunchtime

Had an early dinner last Sunday. Service was atrocious - our glasses of Cremant were literally thrown on our table. The server got our order wrong, would have helped if she wasn’t so hectic and repeated our order like most establishments do. The Cordon Bleu was cold and there was no or rather dried up cream cheese with the pastrami filling. We told that to the server who removed the plate but she did not reorder or offer anything else!! Still paid for the hardly eaten meal and whilst paying the server said that we should have specifically ordered another one?!? Service at its best ??? To be fair, the spicy king prawn pasta was delicious. Hence the 2nd star. We have been frequenting this place since at least 20 years and the service has deteriorated. Will not be returning soon.

El servidor se equivocó de pedido, habría ayudado si ella no era tan agitada y repitió nuestro pedido como la mayoría de los establecimientos lo hacen. El Cordon Bleu estaba frío y no había queso crema seco con el relleno de pastrami. Se lo dijimos al servidor que quitó la placa, pero no reordenó ni ofreció nada más. Todavía pagamos por la comida apenas comido y mientras pagamos el servidor dijo que deberíamos haber pedido específicamente otro? El servicio en su mejor momento Para ser justos, la pasta picante de langostino rey estaba deliciosa. De ahí la 2a estrella. Frecuentamos este lugar desde hace al menos 20 años y el servicio se ha deteriorado de mes en mes. No volverá pronto.

Unfortunately there is a parking lot between the water and the restaurant. The small beer garden is still quite nice. Unfortunately, instead of the beer, a cyclist came. But the food was delicious and the salad beforehand was opulent.

I am a regular visitor - also explicitly with business partners. A restaurant with white tablecloths and cloth napkins, without being in the slightest - and that's only meant in a positive way - in any way aloof. Always very friendly, funny and delicious. The quality of the individual products is excellent... the bread basket alone makes the visit worth it!

A pleasant restaurant with German cuisine on the banks of the river Main. We had lunch on the outside terrace. The service is very pleasant and the dishes very well prepared. We enjoyed the meal ideal atmosphere. I have repeated several more times and I have to say the service could have been friendlier.

Heute war Seeteufel auf der Karte. Leider war das Essen eine Riesen-Enttäuschung. 2 Mini-Stücke Seeteufel auf dem Teller, die Beilagen - Brokkoli-ähnliches Gemüse - ebenfalls eine Miniportion, dazu 2 Mini-Klekse Tomatensauce + ein paar Cocktail-Tomaten. Das Essen war ein Witz, was die Portion anbetrifft. Ich bin seit langem immer wieder Gast in der Borussia, aber das heute war eine Mega-Enttäuschung. Die Antwort der Kellnerin auf meine Kritik: heute ist ein anderer Koch da. WIE BITTE?????

Very nice service. Communicative, unobtrusive, with a strong service mentality. Very good food from starter, main course and dessert. Unusual filling for Cordon Bleu, but extremely tasty. And I would have liked to take buckets of the mango sorbet home with me. We will definitely come back with a larger group. Thank you for a nice end to the 7th wedding anniversary.

Lunch catered for a party of 22 people. Great coordination with the menu. Good organization between kitchen and service - all guests received their food at the same time. Good products beautifully served. Despite being busy, there is no rush with the attentive service staff. Thank you very much

Friendliness is different, loud, humorous service.

I have been visiting the restaurant 2 to 3 times a year for business lunches for many years. Table reservations are required in this popular restaurant, the parking situation can be poor, there may be an alternative on the other side of the B43 (Gerbermühle car park, approx. 500m walk). In summer you can sit outside on the terrace, in winter you can sit inside. Everything was clean, including the toilets. Ambiance 5 points, but it is not stylish, but rather a simple restaurant style from the 1970s - if you are looking for stylish, you just have to stay in the city. The daily lunch menu always has a selection of very fairly priced menus (small starter, main and dessert), which are of good to very good quality. If you can't find anything on the daily menu, you should look for it on the standard menu, which has classics like Wienerschnitzel etc., and oysters are also available. I have never been disappointed, the food has always been good to very good. Yields 4.5 points. Regarding the service, which is often criticized by other reviewers: I don't know any experiences of the kind described by the other reviewers. The service for me has always been friendly, sometimes a little more direct, but always humorous and helpful. I didn't experience any unfriendliness or rudeness. However, it may also apply that “as you shout in, so will it ring out”. That it can take time. when the store is full - it's free, that's the case everywhere. It's usually quick, ditto for serving speed. Ergo service 5 points. Overall, a rating of 5 points, with the recommendation to have lunch there on the terrace during the week when the weather is nice. Tip: The restaurant can also be reached from the city with the excursion steamer, exit "Gerbermühle". The ships sailed regularly from Eisernen Steeg from spring to autumn.

When I pay the bill, I add up 5 euro for tip but they advice me that 10% tip is what I have to pay in germany. Good to know it however still don’t know why they didn’t add 10% of tip on thier bill officially.

As a long-standing institution on the Main, Borussia still lives up to its reputation as a culinary highlight in Frankfurt. Very tasty meat and fish dishes and selected wines. Really attentive service and best value for money. Always my pleasure!

Wir waren am 26.12 zum Abendessen. Wir bestellten das Menü Hirschfilet mit Kartoffelgratin und Wirsing. Davor geräucherte Gänsebrust auf Feldsalat. Danke an die Küche, es war alles auf den Punkt ! Es geht kaum besser. Der Kellner und die Kellnerin waren sehr aufmerksam und freundlich Bis bald mal wieder.

Wir hatten hier Samstag Abend einen Tisch für 4 reserviert. Apropos reserviert, das ist eine dringende Empfehlung einen Tisch zu reservieren, vor allem am WE. Dazu kommt ein toller Service und sehr leckeres Essen mit Portionen wo man auch echt satt wird. Preis-Leistung also top! Wir wohnen zu weit weg um regelmäßig zu kommen, aber wenn wir in Frankfurt sind, kommen wir gerne wieder.

Our food was amazing. The wild deer sausage and rote kohl was superb. The schnitzel on point. My favorite was the spatzel. Our server was great. Very friendly and helpful. Oh, the bread basket is always a hit. The stroll along the river there and back was a plus.
