Bollywood Tandoori Indisches Restaurant in Garmisch-Partenkirchen

We ate dinner there on April 18, 2025, the staff was very nice, people accidentally brought us malai boti instead of malai kabab, when the staff saw that we hadn't eaten, they didn't charge us for the order, which is basically a given, but apparently not today. I went back into the house to pay for the order, but they didn't let me, I recommend this restorant to everyone

Very disappointing experience We ordered Chicken Vindaloo, and the potatoes in the dish were clearly stale. As a gesture of goodwill, we called the restaurant to give them feedback, but instead of listening, the person on the phone became extremely arrogant and started shouting at us. He rudely said, “How can you say that? You don’t even know the taste of food!” This kind of customer service is completely unacceptable. We were trying to help with constructive feedback, but were met with disrespect. Definitely not ordering from here again.

I ordered food online from this restaurant and was extremely disappointed. The chicken dish I received came with potatoes that had a terrible, foul smell — they were clearly spoiled and probably boiled a long time ago. It was honestly inedible and raised serious concerns about food safety. When I called to report the issue, the person on the phone was incredibly rude and dismissive. Instead of apologizing or offering a resolution, they acted like I was bothering them. Completely unprofessional. If this is how they handle online orders and customer concerns, I definitely won’t be ordering from here again. Very poor experience overall.

I don’t usually leave reviews, but this was unacceptable. I ordered the chicken vindaloo and was immediately hit by a foul smell the moment I opened the box. It was rotten. I don’t know how any kitchen could miss that. This isn’t just about a bad dish — it’s a serious food safety issue. Serving spoiled potato can make people very sick. We called the restaurant to let them know, and all we got was nonsense response from the restaurant guy. I won’t be eating here again, and I suggest you think twice before ordering anything .Absolutely disgraceful.

Terrible and stale food. We ordered chicken vindaloo but they used rotten potatoes in it . If you want good food avoid this place. Terrible food and hospitality.

The best Indian food in Garmisch

Bollywood Tandoori is a good spot in Garmisch if you’re looking for Indian food. We tried roti, vegetable jalfrezi, along with masala chai and masala chaas. The food tasted good — nothing extraordinary, but satisfying and comforting. The interiors are decent, with a casual and clean setting. It’s not a fancy place, but it does the job well if you’re craving Indian flavors in the area. Overall, a fine place to enjoy a warm Indian meal while exploring Garmisch.

Eating alone in a cold room. Service ok. Eat there quickly with a lot of Indian. Accessories portion ok. Taste ok.

I've been going to Bollywood for 18 years and have always had good food and great service. When it's very busy, you might have to wait a bit, but the taste, friendliness, and honesty make you feel right at home. I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to experience authentic Indian food.

Best mango lassi in the world The main meal was terrible, saps your energy, not to mention pure poisoning. A double-edged sword Drink mango lassi and go!!!

Food was poor and the service even poorer! Very expensive at 17.90eur for just a curry, plus rice and nan. Much better food options in Garmisch.

After 1 hour and 45 minutes and after 3 calls the driver came. The price was suddenly 10% higher, even though the price was confirmed online and after telephone inquiries. I then sent the driver back with the food. Very UNSERIOUS!!! Never again.

Picked up very fine food, three different dishes tasted different, portion size and price were right.

The thali at Bollywood Tandoori was delightful! The bhindi masala stood out with its perfect blend of spices, and the aubergine dish was equally flavorful. A satisfying and authentic experience for lovers of Indian cuisine.

The food was okay not that great. What really surprised us was their treatment. They treat the German guests way better than Indian guests. Went there after seeing good reviews but honestly the taste of the food and the hospitality both were disappointing.

The best lamb curry I have ever eaten in Germany! I have been a guest at many Indian restaurants in Japan and South Korea in recent years and this one can absolutely keep up 🙌

Are always very happy with the food. Always plentiful and very tasty. We would like to try another one but why? We are completely satisfied. Always delivers really hot or at least pleasantly edible warm. Lamb is also recommended.

The service was attentive, friendly and present. The fresh naan is great! But the curries were not what I know. Very tomatoey and (as requested) spicy, little of what I love about Indian food that hits the nose. No turmeric, little ginger or cardamom, little clove and the chicken meat that was pre-cooked a few days ago and then well stored in the refrigerator had nothing to do with fresh marinated in garlic, ginger, onion and tamarind, as is the case with Vendaloo (actually with should be pig). The pre-soup did not hide the Knorr base next to the spinach shreds. At least the prices match the quality, as a main course for well under €10 is difficult to come by.

Can you spot the difference between daal makhani & paneer masala. Ordered daal makhani & paneer masala. Both came with same orange sweet gravy & daal makhani had yellow daal..Only Naan was finem Pathetic food.

I come here often (or I often pick up food or order) and have always been very satisfied. Very good value for money, especially at lunchtime, and always friendly service. A small suggestion for improvement: Paneer Butter Masala on the lunch menu would be great (but I've already done so as a gesture of goodwill). Will definitely come back!

We were on our way from Langenfeld to Nesselwang and we had to take a detour to reach this restaurant and I think it was all worth it. The staff is supportive, atmosphere is nice and above all food is very tasty. We ordered their Thali options which they served with 6 curries, bread, raita, rice and salad. Quantity and quality is good enough for 2 which they claim to be. Will visit again !

We were a bit skeptical with the 4.0 rating but if you want true Indian food in Garmisch, then this place is a must visit. All vegetables we ordered were authentic north Indian style, something which we don’t also find in Berlin. We ordered veg thali and palak was too good, and kadhai chicken was delicious (tell them to prepare india style spicy). But the best part of authentic north india style gulab jamun - tried at many restaurants in Germany but this place has perfected it. If you like gulab jamuns, then DO NOT miss it here. Service was also great and ambience was hospitable.

Save yourself from disappointment. If you want to eat good Indian food, run from this place. Very sad food. Basic dishes like paneer makhani tasted sweet and tangy. Total disappointment.

We have been coming to this restaurant since 2000, and visit it every time we come to Garmisch. I ordered Garam Masala, my husband ordered Lamb Vindaloo, plus wines ( Gruner weltliner and a german red) and naan. The food and wine were excellent! The service was prompt, but not rushed. It was a very relaxing atmosphere ( not many other customers as it is between high seasons). We look forward to our next vist!

A staple for us as residents of Garmisch. Great food, kind people, and convenient location for us! I love getting the Thalis because they include naan and offer variety!

I must say the ambiance of this restaurant is really nice you almost feel like you are in India. The food is also delicious specially chicken. We tried kadai chicken curry, tandoori chicken tikka and Naan and all of them were good in taste If you like spicy food you can ask to make it spicy while ordering. Also rice is complimentary with curry so order accordingly. Price are also very economical.

I ordered food from Liefranco (Thalis vegetarian), it was well received, but I found onion peel and hair in the sauce I will not order from you again and will ask you to pay more attention to hygiene!!!

The restaurant is delicious, but the vegetables have a bad taste and look like pita or frozen vegetables. Our orders were: Biryani was delicious, Butter Chicken was delicious, and Masala was medium. Quantities are plentiful and the best thing is their outdoor seating behind the restaurant overlooking the river. Their morals are frankly not good, making them feel angry and not cheerful.

The food was ready quickly, but the naan was hard. The meat (I ordered a thali with chicken and beef and once vegetarian) was horrible. My son said it was "dog food". The rest was fine.

From my opinion and personal experience, I never liked the chicken butter. There is nothing similar to the chicken butter. It is just tomato and diya sauce. I have never eaten chicken butter so much. It is bad. The tandoori chicken was okay and tasted good. The restaurant was full of flies that licked my heart. To the point that a single fly decided to commit suicide in my husband's plate, diving into the living room. Cleanliness is yours. I eat and hear the employee talking loudly in the bathroom. The vibes of the restaurant answer my concerns. Frankly, it is old and its condition is in such a state that I do not recommend it. We ended up paying 26 Bahraini dinars. I hope it deserves it or is it worth it. Advice: Try the Arabisca restaurant, something interesting called it, in Qarmish Center. The owners of the restaurant are Shawam, and the food is very delicious, clean, and halal. You can eat while you are comfortable.

Tasty and friendly service. The restaurant is getting old and the decoration could also do with some work. Despite it: Overall, the food (palak paneer) was great and I would come back for that alone. 😃

I can recommend Bollywood to anyone who wants to try Indian food. If you like, the food can also be delivered, although it is cheaper to pick up the food from the restaurant. Otherwise the food was very good, especially the sauces tasted excellent. Will definitely order more often in the future.

This was such an unexpected find in the Bavarian Alps! Bollywood is serving up some of the best Indian food we have found throughout Europe and at such a reasonable cost. The chicken tikka and chicken makhni are our absolute favorite! We went multiple times over our trip to Garmisch and will 100% be returning again when we come back in the fall.

Absolutely horrible Indian food. It was good years ago. What happened?

The food was far too sweet and still bland. Barely tasted any spice, which is what you would expect with Indian food.

We ordered chicken biryani. Unfortunately, the food is not good. The chicken is very bad. I do not recommend it to anyone.

How is this restaurant getting any stars at all? The service is good, but the food is probably the worst Indian food I have ever eaten. The butter chicken is like eating a bad spaghetti sauce. Everything in the Thali was very bad. I don’t know what else to say. Good luck if you try this place.

Ordered in and literally the worst Indian food I've had in Germany. It's a scam in the name of Indian food - ordered a thali - daal makhani (chana daal mixed in tomato sauce, which is completely wrong! ) , and the tomato soup was like cream and sugar in tomato. The naan and paneer kulcha were chewy and had a strange texture and smell, usually not how naan is. I am quite aware of EU standards to adjust spice levels but do not call it Indian food if you aren't even making the dish right. Would not recommend at all.

Good food , we recommend the tandoori mix and naan bread. Nice service. We were just a little disappointed with the rice which didn’t really taste anything Indian.

I have been a regular customer for many years and am thrilled every time. I've tried many Indian restaurants and this is by far the best! Can recommend the special tandoori plate and the thalis.

I really enjoy eating Indian food and of all the restaurants I've visited so far, this is one of the best. Very tasty food and friendly and attentive service. I always enjoy coming to Garmisch and the Bollywood Tandoori. Simply worth a visit.

A nice restaurant where you can have a good meal. The food is very tasty, the staff is friendly, the price-performance ratio is also very good and the ambience is a bit old-fashioned and Indian.

I went on holiday in Garmisch-Patenkirchen with a friend for 4 days, we ate there twice during that time. Very, very tasty food (even free Nan with the meat dishes) and super nice and humorous staff. I accidentally forgot my phone towards the end and one of the employees ran after me to give it back to me with a smile on his face. Overall very warm and pleasant atmosphere. 10/10

Tolles Restaurant und authentische indische Küche.

Ich war das erste Mal dort essen, weil ich gerne mal Indisch probieren wollte. Die Menschen dort sind wunderbar und wirklich sehr gastfreundlich. Das Essen einfach eine tolle Auswahl. Wer hier nicht satt wird dem ist nicht zu helfen. Für mich einfach ein tolles Erlebnis. Auch und ganz besonders, was den Geschmack der indischen Küche angeht. Ich kann mich wirklich nur dafür bedanken und empfehle es allen, die die pure Geschmacksexplosion der indischen Küche erleben möchten. Vielen Dank und gerne wieder.
