Bodhi - vegan living in Hamburg

If you’re looking for delicious vegan Asian cuisine and a cozy atmosphere, this is the restaurant to visit! We had to wait for around 10 minutes until our table was free, but the servers were very friendly. We ordered Crispy Crisp Tofu (with raspberry-chili dip !!!), Bodhi Pocket, Loving Tofu and Summertime Rolls as starters to share and each one of them was delicious! After that we had Peanut Cream with rice and the Cool & Green sushi plate as a main and again, they were delicious. The drinks were great too!

Love this place! My favourite go to when in the area. Super tasty, healthy vegan food. Just wish they had a Bodhi in more cities!

Very good food, although the vegan "chicken" tasted more like chewing gum with paper added after it had cooled for 2 minutes. Not a really friendly welcome, slow service, not entirely clean cutlery, a drink that was advertised as large was 0.2l.

Regardless of whether you are vegan or non-vegan, the food is delicious for everyone. The starters are particularly impressive. Except that no card payment can be used. Of course it's a bit strange for the year 2024.

Food and everything is good, but you have to do something about the mice in the store. Been there twice, months apart, and watched the mice scurrying around under the tables twice shortly before the end. Quite sweet. But it's not hygienic in a restaurant.

Good vegan food, a nice experience even for non-vegans. The only drawback is the location directly on Borgweg and the associated traffic on the main road.

Lack of card payment. Kind of weird for year 2024

As a meat eater, I was biased and avoided this restaurant for a long time because I don't understand that restaurants that serve meat and fish are always expected to have vegan and vegetarian dishes, but vegan restaurants don't cater to meat eaters. I still didn't miss anything here because I don't have to eat meat every day. Really good Asian cuisine with very large portions for a low price! I based the portion sizes on the price, but 2 starters for €8 each and a main course were not feasible. If you are here in a group and are prepared to share, as is not usual in Germany, 2 starters per person are enough, so you can really let off steam for a small course. Very diverse and surprising crunchy treats that this vegan restaurant offers! Hats off, I didn't expect it, thank you for the lovely evening!

The best vegan restaurant in Town! Mind-blowing tasting food!

We were there for the second time and loved it both times. The dishes are extremely tasty and really well prepared! The service is very nice and quick. We didn't have to wait long until the delicious food was served. We will definitely come back.

DANGER! No more service after 9:30 p.m.!!! So the 11 p.m. statement is WRONG! We wanted to eat at 9:30 p.m. BUT the kitchen was closed and there were no more drinks! Even asking didn't help. “Everything has already been cleaned” they said. The atmosphere was like in a train station. We paid €18 for a free taxi. No understanding or insight. The staff preferred to finish work 1.5 hours earlier. NEVER AGAIN! Ad. Answer Bodhi: And now a lying answer from Bodhi, so it seems to have a system! SAD!!!

Fantastic! The food is excellent, inexpensive and beautifully presented. The menu is very diverse. The service staff are incredibly nice, courteous and warm. We couldn't have dreamed of it better. We will be back definitely! Thanks for that!

Bodhi is really a wonderful place to go if you want to eat Asian and vegan food. The selection on the menu is manageable and yet incredibly creative. Regardless of whether you want to eat several small bites like tapas or have a large main course - you will definitely be served very well in terms of taste. The team in the kitchen works at a wonderful level and visually every little detail on the plate is placed with love. Unfortunately, sometimes you have to wait a little longer here. This is understandable as the restaurant is buzzing with customers and is always full (a good sign in my opinion!). The service is still very friendly and accommodating. The food arrives very quickly after you order. The atmosphere is very modern and simple. Classic clichés from Asian restaurants are not used here in terms of decoration.

I'm actually happy, but there doesn't seem to be any interest in enabling EC payments. Doesn't fit the otherwise modern concept at all.

Huge range of vegan dishes. It was recommended to order 2 to 3 dishes per person. The two of us had 8 and this was easy to do. Including 4 drinks we spent €73. You can only pay here with CASH! Good atmosphere and friendly service!

Really good vegan food and lovely atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the Pagoda dream and the dishes to share, I was not that impressed with the sushi but it was still ok.

Super tasty, we like to eat here or take it to go to the city park. It's not particularly original, but you know what you're getting and it's always been great. The location at the intersection is not particularly comfortable, but there is always something to look at outside.

Friendly service. The food contains many additives. Only cash payment is accepted and I wasn't even offered a bill on my two visits, even though you are required to do so. I don't want to assume anything, others have already commented on this here, but the whole thing definitely has a flavor. The smoothie was OK, but I can make something like that at home.

This was my second time at Bodhi. Only recommended! Nice restaurant, nice service and very tasty food! This time we had different bowls, whether mango salad or dumplings. Everything was very tasty 😋 Price/performance ratio is good. I'd love to come back!

If you think vegan food is boring, you haven't been to Bodhi yet! Try the shrimp, the dumpings,... everything - it's so delicious! It's hard to believe that this is all vegan, you don't miss anything. However, reservations are advisable, Bodhis is popular. Be sure to sit outside on a beautiful summer evening.

I ordered takeaway there and it was ready within 5 minutes. I was excited! The staff was very friendly. The toilet was also very clean.

Absolute recommendation - even for non-vegans! Even my mom was very excited and wanted to eat here for her birthday. We ordered: Jasmine tea with goji berries 2x Summer Bowls Pagoda Bowl Crispy tofu sticks We didn't have to wait long and everything was served at the same time. You could immediately tell that everything was freshly prepared and good ingredients were used! My highlight were the tofu sticks with the pink sauce! The service was nice and courteous. My mom even had water for her flowers! All dishes were very reasonably priced! I would love to come back! Thank you!

Had a really delicious dinner here and enjoyed getting to know the possibilities of vegan cuisine in a nice, modern atmosphere. You won't find such a diverse range of vegan food and drinks on every corner. Here you will feel like trying a great selection of dishes other than meat and fish - this is also made possible thanks to the small portions of free choice. Thanks to various bowls and soups, even your big hunger is satisfied. We'd love to come back.

The Bodhi is new at this point. The vegan Asian restaurant wants to show exactly what it is: the vegan diversity of Far Eastern cuisines. Here you can find dumplings, rolls, sushi and more. We focused on the “20 To Share”. Plus a little rice. This is something like mezze or tapas. The soups, the seaweed salad, the dumplings and much more were great. What was fried was too fatty and a little too weak in taste. No matter whether rolls or sticks. The service was very friendly and quick. What's a bit annoying is that cash only applies here. The room is quite large and somewhat winding due to the dismantling.

Really very tasty and beautifully presented food. The staff is attentive and friendly. Hamburg average price. The ambience is rather below average. Ste acoustics are terrible. It's loud like in a large canteen, so a relaxed meal with relaxed conversation is not possible. I also find it strange that you can only pay with cash. Luckily we happened to have enough with us.

Feedback on the company's comment: Even if you assure in the name of your restaurant that a table will not be allocated immediately after a reservation if you arrive 5 minutes late, that was actually the case that day and it shocked us a lot. Why do you make reservations if they don't help you? There is a table directly in front of/behind the cash register. When you enter the store, go straight on the left side ;) and there is a cash register, which beeped almost constantly on the day in question and made printing noises. Of course you can deny everything here and that is your right, but I only truthfully shared our extremely bad experience with your store on the Internet. The food is really really delicious! But the service, the ambience, the way the store is run and the employees that day were a complete disaster!! ——————————————————————- We were there twice and won't be coming anymore. The first time for lunch. Atmosphere great! Food super delicious! A few months later, we wanted to enjoy a delicious meal at Bodhi before going to the cinema on Valentine's Day. So we made a reservation for a period of 1.5 hours in the evening. We then got ready on time (coming from Bergedorf) and then took the train. Unfortunately, due to the delay of the first train, we missed the subway. Luckily the next one left 5 minutes later. So we arrived at Bodhi 4 minutes after the reserved time. Unfortunately, we couldn't reach anyone by phone at the time to clarify the delay. On site we were told we hadn't made a reservation?! We asked again and then they said “We were 5 minutes late and now the table had already been given to someone who hadn’t reserved”. Of course we were totally disappointed. We were offered to sit at a table right next to the constantly beeping cash register for 20 minutes. We might have to leave earlier because the table was already reserved. Accordingly, we left and will probably never enter this store again. It's a shame about the delicious vegan food, but we won't support such employees and such customer hostility!

Very fresh food with lots of vegetables, unfortunately completely without spice or taste. Unfortunately, I can't understand the "hype" at all, everything we tried had no taste and, above all, spices and fresh herbs were missing. Friendly service and nice shop, very good prices.

Excellent food! Looks great and tastes fantastic! The sharing portions are highly recommended. The best were tofu sticks in green rice flakes (unfortunately I can't remember the exact name).

A super nice vegan restaurant right next to the city park and the Borgweg subway station. Very friendly staff and super tasty food that focuses on quality rather than having as many products as possible, which is very welcome. The atmosphere is very cozy, even though the tables are sometimes very close together. Unfortunately, payment is only possible in cash, which I find to be not entirely up to date. Overall, a very nice restaurant, I'll always come back

Our absolute favorite restaurant. The map is clear and completely sufficient and perfect. The food is always an experience for the eyes and the palate, always delicious and fresh. The employees are super friendly and always have a smile on their faces. It's just a shame that card payments are still not possible.

Great vegan restaurant, we all loved it. Reservation recommended, we got there early, it was still ok, but it got full very quickly. Service is super friendly and cheerful, the selection is great and all of our dishes were freshly prepared and very tasty! That's how it should be. The only thing is that the ambience is nice, but not really comfortable to linger for a long time. You're more likely to rely on continuity. The prices are very fair and all in all a very good place where you don't have to look closely as a vegetarian. What a lovely dinner!

The food was great and the trip from Vienna to Hamburg was worth it

As always, the food was delicious. The food was to die for and the service staff was very friendly and attentive. All allergens are clearly marked on the map. I recommend reserving a table on weekend evenings as the restaurant is busy. Only cash payment is possible, but this was communicated directly when making the reservation and is also stated directly at the entrance.

The food was again very tasty, the service was friendly and quick. But it's not possible that a mouse ran under the tables throughout the restaurant during the meal. And judging by the reaction of the staff, it probably wasn't the first time. The exterminator urgently needs to work on it. We won't be coming back for a while.

Quiet and cozy atmosphere right next to the city park. My dad and I came here often because the food was great and the noise level was low enough to have a conversation. The food tastes excellent and the service is always courteous and very friendly. The amount of food is enough to keep you full even as a long-time vegan. It is important to know that only cash payments are accepted here, but there is an ATM in the kiosk next door.

Found by chance and without reservation. A real surprise: very tasty food, served quickly and a modern atmosphere.

Schickes veganes Restaurant in der Nähe des Stadtparks… gemütliches Ambiente und sehr leckeres Essen. Von kleinen Vorspeisen bis Hauptgerichten alles sehr lecker! Bedienung war freundlich und Gerichte wurde appetitlich angerichtet. Immer wieder gern.

Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingsläden in Hamburg. Bao Bun und Crispy Tofu sind immer ein absoluter must-have. Preis angemessen, Atmosphäre gut. Manchmal bisschen laut, aber die haben auch eine offene Küche..

Spontan am 23.12. besucht und sogar 4 Plätze bekommen. Sehr leckere Tapas und Hauptgerichte. Auch sehr leckere hausgemachte Limonaden und frische Tees. Man sitzt sehr gemütlich und tolle Atmosphäre. Toller Service.

Fabulous Vietnamese restaurant. You can expect great flavours, prompt service and a really good selection of dishes.

Waren mit einer Gruppe dort, 3 überzeugte Fleischpflanzen. Alle waren sehr begeistert. Wirklich sehr lecker 😋. Nicht günstig aber es hat uns allen gefallen. Tolles Ambiente.

Sehr leckere Vegane Sushi! Auf einem Teller für ~10€ sind zehn Maki und viel lecker Salat, wovon man ganz gut satt wird, und dazu eine sehr bewusste und gute Getränkeauswahl. Der Laden war sehr nett dekoriert und der Service sehr nett. Einziges "Manko" war dass sie nur Bargeld nahmen aber direkt nebenan gibt's einen Geldautomaten, also war das kein Problem. Sehr gerne wieder!

Preis/Leistung: 9/10 Geschmack: 9/10 Ambiente: 10/10 Bedienung: 9/10 Klasse! Es ging schnell, war super lecker und preis/Leistung auch super! Gerne immer wieder

Das Essen war schnell da und super lecker. Besonders gut gefallen haben uns das frittierte Tofu sowie die frittierten Avocados und Birnen. Das Personal war super freundlich und bei dem tollen Ambiente haben wir uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Wir kommen gerne wieder :)

Das Essen hier ist der Hammer! Bis das Essen kommt, dauert's allerdings ein wenig. Aber vielleicht war's auch dem Andrang geschuldet. Schade, dass man hier nicht mit Karte zahlen kann!
