Excellent cuisine with a sirprising menue. Specialities of food I haven't seen before on a menue. Lovely olive oil and a vast variation of vines.

Very tasty cuisine and top service

Insanely good, probably my best meal in Berlin. I'm having a hard time picking my favorite between the superb, attentive staff and the menu which hits that sweet spot between tradition and creativity. My three wine pairings were each better than the other. No question that I'll be coming back, and bringing friends too.

Unfortunately, the rack of lamb was only lukewarm.

Very fast, attentive, and friendly service at lunchtime. The food is admittedly a bit pricey, but high-quality, for example, the pennoni con ragu di cinghiale, which I had as a main course. A very stylish location for a business lunch.

Excellent food— but I have never been to a restaurant where they would sell wine bottles for over 25,000 € — yes, twenty five thousand—the average yearly net income in Germany. I found that shocking and obscene. Food was really good but portions were tiny.

The tortelli were amazing. However, we didn't appreciate that the small bottles of water were priced at €8.50, which discourages people from drinking water / encourages them to drink other (less healthy) drinks.

We came with the family to celebrate a birthday and we celebrated successfully. We liked the food, it was delicious and quiet and the staff did not bother us unnecessarily.

The food is excellent and beautifully presented, and the quality is impressive across the board. The wine list is very extensive and impressive in its diversity. The staff is very attentive and present, yet still in the background, allowing guests the peace and quiet they need. Even the wines by the glass are of a high quality and selection, especially since they change regularly. We feel very comfortable here; there's nothing comparable in Mitte. It's also important to remember how many staff members look after guests every evening and ensure their well-being!

There's really nothing to complain about here. But I'm sure I'll come up with something at the end. Reservation: Reserved online and received immediate confirmation. Service: In general, the service is VERY attentive, even when the restaurant is very busy. The restaurant was very busy for us, but the atmosphere was still relaxed. Food: There's nothing to complain about with the food either. The meat was super tender and cooked to perfection. Special requests were accommodated. Price: It's a bit on the high side, but without the champagne, we would have ended up at €100 per person for 3 courses and drinks. I think that's appropriate. What I'd like: I would appreciate a little greeting from the kitchen beforehand, which would make the evening even more perfect. All in all, highly recommended, and we would definitely come back.

Good restaurant, food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly.

Disappointing. Food is ok but not wow. Service could be better. Reading the reviews this should have been the place for nice Italian food. I was disappointed. My impression was that they put all tourists in the less nicer front section of the restaurant whereas the locals sit in the back where it’s more intimate. We also did not get offered a choice where to sit whether a German guest did. Our waiter - with the tom ford glasses - was below par. He spilled lots of wine when poring it and didn’t even care. There was a lady in our section as well who was better though. Service is quick and Food is ok but not wowie. Squid was dry. Net as it’s supposed to be an upscale restaurant: does not deliver on expectations and I would not go back.

A wonderful place with fantastic food, a very pleasant atmosphere, and equally fantastic service. A delicious lunch menu is also available during the week until 3:00 PM. A definite recommendation!

An incredible place, we enjoyed it from beginning to end. The service was spectacular: always professional, friendly, and attentive, making sure everything was on the table. We loved the food; absolutely recommend it 100%. We enjoyed a three-course menu with an extra starter, accompanied by a house wine and a cocktail. Everything was perfect. I would definitely return again and again.

Oh dear! My visit to the upscale Italian restaurant Bocca di Bacco unfortunately ended in food poisoning. It's your own fault if you eat spaghetti vongole (mussels) in early July. But a restaurant with such a reputation and such prices should really know what it's doing (and what needs to be thrown away!). Unfortunately, a truly terrible experience!

The waiters were very attentive, and there were only one person on duty. One star deducted for service because our water was forgotten and we were only told what wasn't available after choosing our dishes – I would have liked that when handing us the menu. Otherwise, the menu is manageable, but I've never been disappointed here. From starters to main courses and desserts, everything was outstanding and on point. Always worth a visit!

Angesichts der in großen Teil gastronomischen Servicewüste Berlin ist dieses Restaurant ein echter Lichtblick. Man wird nett vom (wahrscheinlichen) Chef empfangen und von einem Kellner direkt an den Tisch geleitet und dann wirklich hervorragend umsorgt. Italienisch charmant, klassische alte Schule, weiße Tischdecken, wertige Gläser und Geschirr und so ist dann auch das Speisen- und Weinangebot. Die Karte ist nicht besonders groß und umfasst im im Wesentlichen die Klassiker. Alles was uns serviert wurde, war hervorragend zubereitet, die Kalbsleber auf den Punkt ohne eine einzige Sehne, das Lamm Carrée meines Nachbarn sowie es sein muss und auch die vegane Option mit Spargel fand eine dankbare Abnehmerin. Die Weinkarte ist lang, ein echter Fundort für Liebhaber. Wir entschieden uns für die Empfehlung des Kellners, und das war dann auch eine gute Wahl. Insgesamt ein runder gelungener Abend. Das Bocca di Bacco ist nicht günstig und eher hochpreisig unterwegs, aber aus unserer Sicht im wahrsten Sinne des Wortes preiswert..

Very good food and fine service

A spontaneous stop without a reservation. A sophisticated ambiance – a feast for the eyes… Pleasant and friendly service. Grilled calamari as a starter and a small portion of tagliatelle as a main course – the consistency and sauce impressed me so much that (even though I was already full) I ordered a second portion… We were completely satisfied. This restaurant is highly recommended!

It was one the best dinner with my husband! We had a wonderful time together in Bocca di Bacco! The staff is very friendly, helpful and always around. Our waiter Giovanni was amazing! Excellent service and attitude! The food itself is more than tasty! You really want to try as much as possible! We really had a feeling that we are in Italy!

Today was a special day for me, and I thought: a good opportunity to visit a restaurant that has been based in Berlin for almost 25 years and enjoys an excellent reputation: the "Bocca du Bacco" (Mouth of Bacchus, the Greek god of wine) 👍 And rightly so: the welcome by a charming, very friendly employee was very pleasant! The menu is manageable and focuses on the specialty dishes! 100 or more dishes of the highest quality simply don't exist in the real world of gastronomy! There is also a daily special, where guests can choose between a 2- or 3-course menu! Vegans are also well catered for! Please ask the waiter; you will receive comprehensive and friendly advice! And then, of course, there is the wine list!!! It can compete with any leading restaurant in Europe's capitals! But there are not only many famous, expensive wines, but also good wines by the glass, for those on a smaller budget! My Pinot Noir was not only excellent Not only is it quality, but at €19.50 for a 0.1 glass, it's also reasonably priced! The interiors are timelessly elegant, and guests feel right at home! And not only does the owner of this extraordinary restaurant say "Mille Gracie," but I do too! And we'll see you again soon! And since I arrive by subway and only have to cross the street, I don't have to worry about finding one of the rare parking spaces!

The food was consistently good. The servers were super friendly, but because it was extremely busy, the wine or grappa was sometimes delivered a little late. But that wasn't a problem. Since we were seated near the entrance, we noticed that they were trying to accommodate every guest, even without reservations. I couldn't really decide on the menu because there were so many unusual things on it. I'd be happy to go back.

The food was great and delicious however I was really disappointed with the waiter’s attitude and rude behaviour towards guests. I can’t believe such a rude person would be able to work in a fine dining restaurant like this and make all the chef effort pointless! Overall I didn’t enjoy my time in there although the food was brilliant just because of the waiter’s attitude!

Unfortunately the food doesn't live up to its expectations. The starter of grilled octopus was dripping with oil and my wife's main course of black gnocchi and scallops wasn't good either, way too much oil and butter and the scallops were only in small pieces in the dish. My risotto with beef tartare and my parsley root soup with herb mushrooms were good.

Bij dit Italiaans restaurant krijg je een mooi kader, een professionele en vriendelijke bediening. De gerechten zijn zeer lekker en net een beetje anders dan anders.

A bit fancy, but great food! Good for special occasions.

We had dinner there. We actually wanted to enjoy a cozy evening, but that was rather difficult; it felt as if the restaurant wanted to get rid of us quickly. We ordered an aperitif, which came quite quickly along with some bread and olive oil. Shortly afterwards, the aperitif was not even half empty, the starter arrived. That doesn't work! An aperitif is served BEFORE the meal. And so it went on. The end of the story was that we didn't order any more wine because we wouldn't have had time to drink it with the meal anyway.

Der Grill vom Grill Royal war kaputt und so sind wir im Bocca gelandet. Das war, wie sich herausstellte, keine 2. Wahl, sondern eher eine glückliche Fügung! Service, F&B, Atmosphäre und Preis-Leistungsverhältnis waren stimmig. Hoffen wir mal, dass das BdB uns noch viele Jahre erhalten bleibt!

Great welcome & escort to the table. The ambience is stylish, classic and discreet. The food is outstanding! At the table itself, I expected a little more friendliness from the staff in charge, but all in all everyone was very attentive and accommodating. I can definitely recommend a visit!

The food didn't quite meet our expectations. We've made a meal at the BdB a regular feature of our annual Berlin-visit, and we've not been disappointed before. Delicious, precise Italian cooking, that definitely took us further South in the World. This time, the food lacked that little extra, it tasted and looked like routine, and a had a heavyness to it, what the Germans calls deftigkeit, that stopped the wonder from happening. May be ut was just the evening, or new staff in the kitchen, nevertheless we left a little disappointed.

I had made a reservation for a business lunch and was the first guest in the restaurant on time. At this point, the restaurant manager was busy carefully preparing all the tables - knives, forks, napkins. That seemed more important to her than even greeting me, even though I was clearly waiting. After a while I was welcomed and taken to my table. Shortly afterwards, other guests arrived - apparently acquaintances of the management. These were provided with menus and drinks. I, on the other hand, continued to sit unnoticed at the table, without a card, without water, without any attention - even though I was the first guest. After a while I politely said goodbye. The phrase “Pride comes before a fall” comes to mind in such moments. All the best – and thanks for nothing.

A spontaneous evening at Bocca di Bacco that enchanted us! We happened to be in Mitte, and it was still early evening. We spontaneously decided to visit Bocca di Bacco and were warmly welcomed. We got a table right away without a reservation. The service was very attentive and courteous from the start, making us feel at home right away. Just looking at the menu made our mouths water. The selection is simply tempting. And then the wine list! It's simply overwhelming. Not only the biggest names in the wine world, but also impressive large bottles are offered here. We were particularly pleased to discover renowned winemakers who are also available in half bottles. The food itself was convincing across the board: quality, taste, freshness, and preparation were perfectly balanced. It was an all-round successful evening that confirmed to us that we will definitely visit Bocca di Bacco more often. This restaurant is a true delight for all the senses.

We were delighted that this wonderful restaurant that we visited in 2002 is still in Berlin. We went many years ago first for a drink and later with a large group. Very fond memories of the superb host and sommelier. They both make you feel so welcome even without a reservation. Great wine list with superb choices by the glass. We had a refined and hearty salad of rucola for our starter then the pappardelle with lamb sugo and the daily special of spaghetti with white truffle. Both dishes were divine (especially the truffles). We were so happy to get to see the sommelier again and thank him for his welcoming, kind treatment many years ago and delighted to see him again. We hope we get to visit Berlin sooner than later to get to go here again.

A magnificent restaurant. Throughout. High-level Italian cuisine, with very well prepared dishes with first-class products. The other day, for example, the taglierini with tartufo bianchetto (we are still in season) were as good or better than those you can have in Tuscany. The wine list is simply impressive. The service is very professional and attentive. A very pleasant atmosphere in the room. The prices are high... but you have to pay for excellence.

Nous avons diné dans ce restaurant après une soirée à la Staatsoper. La cuisine est goûteuse, le service très professionnel et la salle très agréable. J'ai dégusté des calamaretti grillés et un risotto aux artichauts et aux olives. Délicieux ! Un verre de Nebiolo pour accompagner le repas. Service jusqu'à au moins 23h00. Une excellente adresse sur Friedrichstrasse !

Unsere Alternative zum China-Restaurant Jolly ist dieser Italiener in der Friedrichstraße. Auch hier alles sehr stimmig: Ambiente, weiße Eindeckung, Service und nicht zuletzt das authentische Essen. Weil wir nicht gern abends essen, bevorzugen wir das Mittagsmenü - und diesmal auch die Pasta mit frischem Trüffel als Alternative zum Münchner Gourmet-Restaurant. Als Gruß zunächst sehr gutes Brot mit feinem Öl und Oliven, letztere lieben die Herren am Tisch. Die Gänge vom Menü überzeugten ebenso wie die hervorragende Pasta mit genau richtigem Trüffelgeschmack - ein Gedicht und den höheren Preis wert. Beim bald erneuten Berlnbesuch kommen wir bestimmt wieder in dieses gastfreundliche Restaurant. Sehr zu empfehlen!

Fancy looking restaurant, impressive decor, and vibe. It's definitely good for a business meal. Anything else, it would almost be a little too much for me as it is quite big and open, so it doesn't feel intimate or romantic. The service was very polite and attentive. Big wine selection across all regions in Italy and out glasses were never empty. I wasn't quite impressed with their starters selection and had the pear rucola salad, which was fresh and tasty but also very simple. I then had the lamb ragu Papadelle, it was flavoursome and tasty. Nothing extraordinary, though. It has a good location, great service, good food, it's a save bet for some kinds of meals but I wouldn't rush back if I'd be in Berlin for pleasure.

We've been back to Bocca di Bacco for years and asked ourselves why not more often. The menu is clear, but there is something for every taste. The quality of the food is outstanding. Good fresh products are prepared in a modern Italian style. Very good Italian wine list and a pleasing number of half bottles. The service is very friendly and attentive and the whole atmosphere is soothing. Everything has its price, but if you want to treat yourself, this is the right place.

We were there for the first time (with a 2 year old child). When we arrived we already had a high chair at the table, the service was generally great and so was the food. We would definitely come back.

What a great Italian. For me there is a little star missing in front of the door. The service and the food suited us. The open wines, especially the white Burgundy from South Tyrol, were excellent. Arrivée sans réservation, on me dit de revenir vers 20 heures, je finis quelques courses dans le quartier. J’arrive au moment du coup de feu. Je montre que je ne suis pas pressée car j’ai des mails avec la Berlinale à laquelle je participe en tant que productrice. Je ne perds pas pour attendre, un vin blanc italien, la carte est fournie, ensuite je n’ai pas pensé à prendre le calamar en photo, mais c’était une merveille de tendreté sur un lit de betteraves et de mâche, ensuite le cerf, que j’ai pris en photo, le plateau de fromage, le tout une merveille.

Update: wow. Order the chicken thigh (Coscia d’anatra). It was just perfect. The restaurant is located in a very nice area in Berlin, very central and well connected. The staff is very attentive and friendly, offering a very nice service. The food was very good, but the star of the show for me was the bread they serve with pasta. It’s simply fantastic. Overall a nice experience and well recommended!

Mittagessen im Bocca di Bacco Hier müssen sie gerade einen Tatort drehen: Hamburger Eleganz trifft auf eine Horde Nackentrainierte. Wenige normale Leute- Teil des Programms... Service sehr präsent und gut geschult. Das ist der Vorteil des Nobel Italieners. Behandeln auch uns aus der Provinz wie einst bei „da Gianni“ dem angeblich besten Italiener Deutschlands - damals...distanziert aber flott...eher Milanese als Siciliano. Alles bestens. Essen: Lunch zwei Gänge 18,50 Euro. Das ist Berlin. In München gerne auch mal 28....Daumen hoch. Vorspeise dann lieblos zusammengewürfelter Bohnen-Speck Eintopf. Oh Gott. Den kann man so lecker machen, dass man sich reinsetzt. Aber der war pappig und lahm. Und nicht ganz heiß. Hauptgericht dann Kaninchen mit Polenta. Das habe ich in Bergamo 30 mal besser gegessen und in Lucca 3 mal besser...und bei einem Ludwigshafener Vorstadtitaliener ist es auch besser. Kaninchen zäh. Sauce nicht richtig gebunden. Polenta naja. Aber so ein Gericht braucht doch noch Säure, oder Süße oder Farbe. Braun mit gelb verlangt nach einem Zungenkitzler- ein paar geschmorte Tomaten, ein Paprika confit, etwas peperoncino...ok Offen gesagt zwei Mal nicht gut gekocht. Service gut aber wenn es nicht schmeckt...

Venerdisera 27.12.2024 spontaneamente siamo passati davanti a questo ristorante bellissimo. Abbiamo ricevuto un tavolo, senza riservazione in un angolino, ma l'abbiamo ricevuto. Il mètre molto gentile ed'acorto. Abbiamo ordinata una burrata come antipasto e poi delle taglietelle, per me dei rigatoni con spezzatino di manzo e pecorino. Usciti dal ristorante avevo già un pò di malesssere, siamo quindi tornati in hotel. Arrivati in hotel ho rimesso per tutta la notte in continuazione. Il sabato sono dovuta restare a letto talmente stavo male e mi è salita la febbre. Domenica con molto sforzo siamo andati all'aereoporto e tornati a casa a Zurigo. Non so cosa sia andato storto, ma una cosa del genere non ci era mai capito, noi che in tutti i posti del mondo che andiamo, cerchiamo dei ristoranti Italiani, gestiti da Italiani per mangiare come si deve. Forse stavolta anadare a cenare in un locale Tedesco con 'Berliner Wurst' ero più indicato...

Ich durfte hier im Rahmen einer beruflich geschäftlichen Einladungen essen. Ein eindeutiges „naja“. Ich würde das Restaurant gegenwärtig in die Kategorie mehr sein als Schein ein ordnen. Oberflächlich glänzender Stil, absolut inkompetentes und relativ unbeteiligte sind unfreundliches Personal, gute bis mittelmäßige Küche. Basierend auf diesem einmaligen Besuch sichten den Laden eher als typisches Spesenlokal, persönlich hätte ich keine besondere Lust, dort rein zu gehen, wirklich nichts besonderes, eher Mittelmäßigkeit auf hohen, gediegenen Niveau.

I expected more from a restaurant listed in the Michelin Guide. The food was average or below. The meat in the carpaccio wasn’t fresh. The ossobuco Togliatti was tasteless, with an overly salty sauce. The chicken was fine, but the lemon juice completely overpowered the flavor. The bread was cold and not fresh. But the most disappointing part was the staff’s attitude. It seemed like they knew the food quality wasn’t good and were perfectly fine with it. I gave feedback that I didn’t like the dish, and when they took away the unfinished Togliatti, their response was simply 'okay,' as if this happens all the time and they couldn’t care less.

Rarely have I eaten such good Italian food. Every dish is excellently prepared, the wine selection is probably unique in Berlin and the best thing is the service - thank you!
