il Giradischi in Berlin

We ate at il Giradischi yesterday and were all very satisfied. The pizzas were excellent and brought back childhood memories of previous Italian vacations with our parents. The alternative atmosphere in the restaurant was pleasant and relaxed. The service was appropriate.

As an Italian visiting Berlin, I was pleasantly surprised by this pizzeria. Fresh ingredients, light dough and authentic flavors reminiscent of home. Friendly staff and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

We were here for Easter Monday! What can I say, everything was very good! From fresh veal with tuna sauce to pizza! Even though it was quite full we were welcomed and served kindly and quickly! Everything perfect and delicious! It will be our fixed stop!

We were there as a family. Knew the location from previous visitors. Apparently the owner has changed, the restaurant has been canceled and the prices have increased. Ordered: a pizza Margherita and two pizzas burrato and vitello tonnato. I could have done the latter myself with a can of tuna. Disappointing. You had to look for the capers with a magnifying glass. Then the pizzas: we haven't had to eat something this bad in a long time. The bottom was burned, the completely sour sauce probably came from a ready-made can from the Penny. The pizza dough hadn't risen properly. All in all, a big failure! We'll definitely never come back. Tourist trap!

For me it was the best pizzeria in the area for a long time. Somehow cool and quaintly decorated, with all the record covers on the walls. Unfortunately the shop has been renovated and for me it has now completely lost its charm.. The next disappointment came when I ordered my favorite pizza, the “Ortolana”, and discovered that the pizza had the same name but had been completely changed. Cherry tomato sauce with eggplant and buffalo mozzarella became cashew nuts..? In terms of price, the whole thing is no longer an insider tip. After all: the pizza still tastes very good!

It used to be much better. Now the walls have been repainted and there are new tables. The iconic punky alternative friendly atmosphere is gone and with it the attitude. I used to prefer the beer benches outside. The prices were increased significantly. Unfortunately we didn't like the food anymore and apart from the pizza, the portions were very small (salad and pasta). The special selection of pizzas has also been decimated. When we told service this, all we got was a shrug of the shoulders. New service, had no idea what it used to be like. Well, it's a shame...

It has been renovated and has clearly lost some of its charm. The open wine became more expensive, the mixed salad remained the same price but was only 1/3 of what was previously served. The staff is very friendly and the food is delicious.

Very welcoming restaurant/pizzeria. Just as you expect from the name, music takes center stage alongside the excellent cuisine. We took advantage of the fish menu, tagliolini with mussels and pecorino, salmon gnocchi and to conclude a delicious fried fish, fine and crunchy at the right point! The Pizza with Nutella as dessert could not be missing. Highly recommended!!!!!

A Roman-style pot-fired pizza with a thin crust. It was so big that it overflowed the plate and it was delicious 😋 The staff and the pizza chef are also Italian, so you can feel like you're in Italy even though you're in Berlin. Recommended for those who like records and music.

Pros: Friendly, attentive staff, plenty of seating (including outside), interesting ambiance (although it looked much cooler in the pictures before the renovation), great music (rock 'n' roll), nice thin pizza base and good crust. Cons: The pizza was missing a few seasonings to better enhance the flavor, so it was a bit bland, but otherwise good. A few more toppings on selected pizzas would also be great, e.g., onions and garlic.

I am the happiest person in the world when I know I will go to eat at Giradischi ♥️ Food is top notch Italian quality (which I often miss in Berlin, being an Italian myself), and the people are always warm and welcoming, so it always feels you’re going to eat at a friend’s place On top of that, if you’re a fan of music, the collection of records that are in the place is immense, and it’s not so rare to find musicians and bands that are on tour in Berlin eating there before or after their show :)

I was in Berlin last weekend for work. Looking for something good and especially Italian I stumbled upon this restaurant. Really a nice place, welcoming Italian style and a bit Berlin style. I ordered a pizza with sausage, potatoes and cherry tomatoes. Fantastic! Living in Holland, unfortunately, I don't often get to eat such a good pizza. High quality dough and ingredients. Highly recommended!!! Especially for Italians abroad!

If you want to eat overpriced bad food, this is the place for you! An impudence.

The food is a disgrace. Wilted lettuce leaves without dressing for €10, blaring music from the record player, only muddy acoustics, the food is carelessly prepared, on the level of school meals. A nasty tourist trap. The only bright spot was a nice, young waitress. She should look for another job.

Il Giradischi has a long tradition in Prenzlauer Berg. The reopening was on March 22nd, 2025 with a new operator... and a few changes. Conclusion: The ambience has been adapted to the times without losing the charm of previous years. Revised menu...100 percent Italian, plus a very good selection of wines. Everything at super fair prices. If you value authentic Italian cuisine and staff, quality and a family atmosphere... Il Giradischi is a must. A big thank you to the new operator for allowing Il Giradischi to continue to live here in the neighborhood. We would love to come back!!!

Went to il Giradischi today for the European Championship final. Italy won! Before that we enjoyed three very good pizzas (tonno, vegetarian and ne magaritha) as well as veal spilliard and spaghetti carbonara. Everything was super delicious. The service was very attentive and super friendly. What happened after Italy's victory was incredible. Sparkling wine DOcG and beer for everyone. Thank you very much for this unforgettable evening!!!!!

Il Giradischi – Child-friendly restaurant with solid pizza Il Giradischi in Berlin is a nice, child-friendly restaurant with lots of coloring books and games for the little ones. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor with vinyl records on the walls creates a charming ambience. The food is fine - the pizza is solid, the fish was a bit dry, but overall it's fine for a no-fuss evening. If you're looking for fine dining, you won't necessarily find it here, but you can certainly stop here for a glass of wine and a pizza. The service is friendly, if occasionally a little slow. A good place for families who want to spend a relaxing time with children.

Unfortunately it's no longer what it once was. We have enjoyed visiting this restaurant for about 10 years, but now we are very disappointed. Reception: The place setting was literally “peppered” onto the table for us by the waitress. There wasn't a "hello" - we had the feeling of being a nuisance. Pizza: Previously light, crunchy and delicious, this time the pizza was unfortunately hard and chewy (it was the same the last time I visited a few months ago). The quality has decreased. Beer: The beer was obviously bad (barrel probably tipped over). After my complaint it was still charged. The landlord said that the beer was just like that and that no one would replace the barrel. We found this attitude disappointing. Overall the restaurant/quality has changed a lot and unfortunately we won't be coming back. It's a shame, because it really used to be my favorite pizzaria.

The reception from the Italian woman was anything but welcoming. Fruit flies were flying around our dirty table, on which paper sets and cutlery were thrown to set ourselves. When I saw the food in the display cabinet, stored in open Tupperware containers, I also knew where the flies came from. The pizza toppings tasted like old vegetables and had been carelessly spread over the dough. Just because you've plastered the place with record covers and posters of good bands and musicians doesn't mean you're a good Italian restaurant.

Would recommend skipping this pizza parlour. Food is 1 star because we weren’t even allowed to order. However it did look decent, but we were never able to try. Service would be 0 if possible. We came in intending to have drinks and then order some appetizers. Because we only ordered drinks initially, the waitress told us that we were only allowed to be there for 30 minutes, and felt that it was necessary to explain to us that “it is a restaurant”. Meanwhile, only 2 of their 12 tables were occupied. She proceeded to angrily yell when we decided not to tip her for her extremely poor service.

I don't even know where to begin - this restaurant was an absolute disaster. I have never experienced such unfriendly and disrespectful staff. When we arrived the restaurant was completely empty and yet we were given a time limit of just half an hour to stay there. The treatment was extremely rude and distant. We were looked at and even laughed at - with judgmental looks, even though we did absolutely nothing. We had ordered something warm to drink, and after only 15 minutes the waitress came to our table several times. She looked into our cups four times within 2 minutes, obviously with the intention of making us leave. This behavior was simply incomprehensible and unacceptable. never again !!!!!!!!!!!

Service desert, nobody really wants guests

Nice ambience, authentic dishes and decor that you don't see that often. Gladly again. Staff great. You somehow feel like you're part of a big family.

The pizza was pretty dry and came uncut (we had to cut it ourselves). They refused us to pay separately by card, and overall the waiters weren’t nice and attentive. Unfortunately I don’t recommend.

Great pizza that doesn't meet the usual standards, in an unusual atmosphere. I love the record decoration. We always enjoy coming here, it's almost a must visit when we're in Berlin.

Even though I didn't have the items from the seasonal menu that I was going to order, I decided to order a pizza. After an hour of waiting, when I asked the waiter about the delay, I found out that they hadn't even prepared my order, he asked me for another ten minutes and when I asked him to cancel, he was extremely rude. It was really sad to see other people who had arrived after me dining peacefully.

Everything's great! Good service, good food that was delivered quickly. All the staff speak Italian, which shows that the pizzas are authentic. I recommend the Bicicletta as an aperitif. CASH ONLY

Nice pizzeria where I like to have lunch when I visit the Sunday market in the Mauerpark. The pizzas are huge, so you leave satisfied and not hungry. The service is relaxed and the people are passionate about what they do. There are records (vinyl) on the wall everywhere, my favorite corner where I often return is to the David Bowie records.

Terrible experience, the waiter was not polite

On a Friday, the four of us were there spontaneously at 9:30 p.m. on the recommendation of our hotel receptionist. The pizzas were incredibly tasty, we took the waiter's recommendation and they came within 10 minutes. Always my pleasure!

It couldn't be more unfriendly. Despite the empty seats, you wait forever. On our first attempt we just wanted something to drink. We were given 30 minutes to do this. Most restaurants make revenue from drinks. I would have understood if the store had been full. Max. 30% was occupied. A similar picture on our second attempt. Despite the fact that there are a lot of punk records on the wall, there's not much punk going on here.

Have been eating here at intervals for years and have always been satisfied. Yesterday we were there again with a group of 10 people and I was a little worried in advance because of the bad reviews. However: very nice, attentive, patient waiter and delicious pizza (smaller pizzas are also possible for the children) and pasta. Liquor on the house. It was busy, several groups. Nevertheless, the service was perfect for us. Very satisfied all around!!

Worst store ever. Went there at 6:50 p.m. with two small children. But of course the gentleman preferred to serve the group of 15 people who came after us first, of course, it also brings in more money. After I asked him an hour later how much longer we had to wait for our order because the children actually had to go to bed, he got upset and preferred to cancel the order rather than fill it immediately. I would have understood that if he had said it would take an hour, then we would have had the choice. It can happen. He just screamed "I'm sorry" in my face at the end and was completely believable. The pizzas themselves are becoming more and more poorly topped and therefore becoming more and more expensive. If there weren't 5 other pizza shops within walking distance, I could somewhat understand that. But now we just switch to the others after 15 years. Thanks for that.

Delicious pizza Quiet and central at Mauerpark

Possibly one of the most horrific dining experiences I’ve ever had. Staff were horrible, rude and didn’t want a single customer there. After sitting down we received our menus very quickly however when we tried to make our order, every time we attempted to get a servers attention, they completely ignored us. The restaurant was by no means busy. We ordered the only red wine on the menu which we left behind as it was undrinkable. We asked to move outside to have a smoke and the waiter in the most dramatic way possible told us no in Italian and proceeded to visibly give out about us to his colleagues. As it is impossible to gain attention of any staff member I then proceeded to the bar to pay where I was met by dirty looks and huffs by three staff members who refused to assist me. I have never felt so unwanted in an establishment in my life. Horrific service.

Taking advantage of the warm evening we dined at the external tables shared with other people. The service was slow, the pizza average.

The Aperol Spritz had no carbonation whatsoever, even though the menu says it's made with soda. When asked, no new one was offered. The three of us were given a glass of champagne to top up and were then ridiculed for our ignorance. We were allowed to listen to further comments about our “German temperament” from a waiter. When paying (cash only), the waiter got angry when two drinks were supposed to be paid for with coins. The only good thing was the pizza, which was impressive.

I take three pizzas, I take them home, I open them and lo and behold, in one pizza there is a hair, in another there is a little moth and the one with the eggplant is burnt .The rude cashier.The place is nice but Anyone who works there should take a long vacation. Thanks for serving me, I paid and threw away the pizzas.

The food tastes really great and you get free bread sticks, but the service was incredibly unfriendly - I've never experienced that before. Immediately received derogatory looks and was served in an unfriendly tone. The delicious pizza is not worth it to me!!

The four of us spontaneously wanted to eat pizza in this restaurant. We were able to find a seat and place our order of 4 pizzas and drinks. Drinks came. Then we waited over two hours for our pizzas. So did all the guests around us. Then two pizzas arrived. 15 minutes later another one. Which was also made with meat instead of vegetarian. After another 15 Minutes later the last two pizzas arrived. While the others had long since eaten their food. In addition, when the waiter brought the last two pizzas, he held one pizza at such an angle that the topping fell onto one of our jackets. The waiter left this uncommented. Nice atmosphere, good taste, but the service and friendliness were hard to beat!

Just bad. After we were sent away an hour beforehand, we wanted to quickly (I think) order a pizza to go. We were told beforehand that the waiting time would be around 10 minutes. At 9:41 p.m. we ordered a pizza to take away. The announced waiting time was suddenly 20 minutes. We were at the restaurant at 10:00 p.m. (a minute before the deadline). We paid the bill at 10:02 p.m. We received the pizza after asking at 10:57 p.m. (!!). After waiting for an hour and 16 minutes. We spent most of the waiting time standing in the restaurant. We weren't offered a drink or anything like that. When I asked, I was asked if we were eating meat as a pizza was just ready. I had observed that a pizza was returned from another table, which must have been this one. Interestingly, another review even mentioned this. To make matters worse, the pizza was very black. All in all, terrible service. We don't order there anymore.

We won't be visiting this store again. I have never experienced such substandard staff: rude and extremely unprofessional. The restaurant is rather expensive, especially since the pizza is limp and everything is a bit grubby/unhygienic.

Super great place, the pizza was delicious, the wine was exquisite and the service was friendly and funny. The theme of Giradischi is implemented in an exciting way with exciting walls decorated with albums and records. The price is also good, simply awesome!!!

We ended up here by a random choice and it ended up being a pleasant surprise. The staff is very friendly and the pizzas where made on a stone oven which gave me some relief. We had the fungi and the diavola pizza. Dough is very nice but the pizza itself was somewhat wet from the sauce (this may be of liking for some people but I like it so the cheese has more stick to the slice). There is a wide variety of pizzas but on this Google profile I see pastas and meat which was not on the menu that was given to us (It was just pizzas and salads). The waitress spoke German, Spanish and Italian (congrats) Also, the prices compared to other restaurants in this area are very good! 10-12 euro for a big pizza. Would come back

I actually really enjoyed coming here because I like the atmosphere. We received the wrong pizza twice on separate visits (once without an apology and once with an apology) and no suggestion was made to make the correct one. The waiter has a kind of humor that is not understandable to everyone and can sometimes be hurtful. The food is ok, but not so good that it's worth going back again.
