Food were very satisfying. Cozy place to dine in.

Absolutely... the waiters are on the ball... special thanks to Mr. Ekrem. Even the short wait, without a reservation, was sweetened with a glass of wine.

Unfortunately not very customer friendly. I wanted to reserve a table for my friend's special (big) birthday and was told that they generally don't accept reservations on Saturdays. Too bad, Blockhouse never again!

We made a reservation, and it worked out great. The steaks were cooked to perfection and the service was fast. One small drawback: everything went very quickly, which made for a lack of comfort. You always had the impression that the waiters would prefer to restock the table immediately after the meal. You can kind of understand that, because the place is doing great. Still, a top-notch place.

Very tasty food, great taste and beautifully prepared. The service was very courteous and helpful. Great ambience and great view of Bikini Berlin, Memorial Church and hotels.

My girlfriend and I were politely escorted to a table, but then we felt like we were in a fast-food restaurant. The waiter was friendly, but he slammed our drinks onto the table so quickly and frantically that I almost spilled them on my pants. The lady steaks were delicious, but the small vase on the table almost tipped over when they were served. After dinner, as we were trying to finish our drinks in peace, we had the feeling the waiter was constantly looking over our shoulders, waiting for us to pay and vacate the table. It's a real shame, because I really enjoy eating at the Blockhaus. But that's not what you'd expect from a pleasant restaurant visit.

If you offer an allergen card you should also be familiar with allergens. I've been to the Blockhouse many times and I've never felt as uncomfortable as I did during my visit today. When I arrived I asked for the allergen menu and when ordering I noted that my food had to be gluten-free, i.e. without Blockhouse bread. Of course it came with a blockhouse bread. After I sent it back the plate was changed and it came back quickly. I then asked if it was a new steak, of course not because the bread only touched the meat on the side. Anyone who has celiac disease knows that this is a no go. Then there was only an annoyed reaction from the waitress with the answer: “Then you’ll just have to wait”. It's stupid that you have to feel uncomfortable in a situation when eating whether it's gluten-free or not... Have fun when someone comes along with an allergy and has an immediate reaction when you come into contact with it.

I recently visited the Block House at the Zoo Palast and was completely satisfied. The steak was perfectly grilled and extremely tender. The service was attentive, quick and friendly. A must for every steak lover in Berlin!

We took rib eye steak 🥩. It was served with salad and potatoe. Everything is super deliciouse. The service is nice and positive. 10 out of 5!

I went here for dinner on a weekday, early evening, during Green Week. I had rump steak with baked potatoes, garlic bread and a side salad. The salad was fresh with a good Italian dressing. The potato and garlic bread, on the other hand, appeared to be prepared and baked in a convenient manner. Not inedible, but also very far below the level you would want for this price. Hence the point deduction. The steak, however, was very good. It was fried to perfection according to my taste, juicy, tender, well seasoned and a decent portion. Block House delivers exactly what you expect from a decent steakhouse. For a drink I had a fresh pilsner that went well with my steak. The service was reserved but attentive, quick and friendly. Since there wasn't too much activity, food and drinks were served relatively quickly. The restaurant is clean and comfortable in terms of furnishings. Not bad, but not so good that you want to linger particularly long after eating. But the location next to the famous Memorial Church and the impressive Upper West Tower is really good. In my opinion, the price of the restaurant is still within an acceptable range. You now pay quite a lot of money for a decent rump steak, even in Hinterpusemuckel. Personally, I will probably come back. But I would like the standard of the supplements to improve. You can clearly see that the restaurant chain is saving costs here, which is a shame because the steaks are really great!

I ate the Blockhausburger at Blockhouse and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. It wasn't a normal burger but a burger patty with garlic bread and fries 🍟 The quality was very good and the price was very good at €15 and I would come back to Block House 🐐 again and again 😁

I went to Jim Block again and the burgers always taste fantastic. Not comparable with various chains.

The steak was like rubber. I don't understand the positive comments at all! What do you mean by “nice atmosphere”? You feel like you're in a subway... Way too crowded and the tables are so close together that you have no privacy at all. The funniest thing about it? The waiters are also snooty. 🤦🏻‍♂️😅 A completely overrated restaurant. never again

Very quick and polite service even though the store was full. Perfect organization! Steaks were perfect, but I have the feeling that the portions are getting smaller and smaller. #Shrinkflation Ambience is typical Block House, a bit too cramped and too loud for me. But that may also be normal on a Friday evening at the Memorial Church. So. Totally recommended!

If you want to eat steak, the Blockhaus is always a good address. We've been to many restaurants in this chain, but in Berlin we also noticed that the service was fun.

Really good steaks! Decent drinks and desserts. Very efficient and friendly service.

Friendly and attentive service. Quality is fresh, tender and delicious. Steak fried to perfection. Fine selection of food also for vegetarians. Large selection of non-alcoholic drinks and beers. The dessert is also really tasty. Order a spoon with the baked potatoes. We felt comfortable and were really full.

Very big disappointment. I ordered Caesar salad and it was the worst salad of my life. It cost 9 euros and was just a bit of iceberg. The quantity was exceptionally too small. The fries were also disastrous. It just tasted like oil, like the fries had been in the oil for so long. The steak wasn't anything special and I didn't think 23 euros was ok. The staff was nice. Unfortunately never again.

We were there the weekend before Christmas Eve, Sunday evening with 2 people. Without a reservation, we got a spot straight away. It was relatively full. We ordered 1x Mrs Rumpsteak and 1x Mr Rumpsteak, with a few extra side dishes and drinks. We ordered both steaks medium. Both steaks came rare. So it's not one level off, but completely wrong. We then complained and the friendly waitress took the plates away again. After a few minutes both plates were back with the side dishes swapped. The side dishes were new, but the meat was the “old”. The cooking level this time was rather medium well. They probably wanted to be on the safe side. What I don't think is okay is that the meat was already cut through and fried incorrectly. I'm also against food waste but sorry, it's just no longer the quality I originally expected. Of course, the pepper and spices are only burned on the steak by the second frying and it simply tastes much worse than if it had been fried properly straight away. With a bill of 70 EUR for 2 meals, this is very disappointing.

If I could I would give this Block House 6 stars. The ambience is as you would expect from Block House, rustic and cozy. The view is fantastic of Breitscheidplatz, Memorial Church, Waldorf Astoria. The food is of great quality, very tasty, even for vegetarians, at fair prices. The service gets 12 stars out of 10 from me.😉

We were really looking forward to this meal, but were unfortunately disappointed. We ordered 2 x beef fillet and a baked potato. The taste of the food was really excellent, but unfortunately everything was cold. It almost looked like it had been sitting on the counter for a long time. What was particularly annoying was that the food was served on ice-cold plates, which caused the whole thing to cool down even faster. Given the fairly high price, we would have expected more. What should be highlighted positively is that the waiter went out of his way to save the evening. Nevertheless, the disappointment with the overall picture prevails and we certainly won't come back.

A beautiful venue. The meat is delicious and the service is quality. They were not accepting reservations due to the new year. If you arrive after 18:00, you will have to wait a bit.

We were there on New Year's Eve and we were super satisfied. Our waitress was super nice and super personable. Unfortunately I can't remember her name, but we sat at table 33 at 7:30 p.m. ;) The steak was cooked perfectly, as always. The warm lava cake for dessert was, as always, great. We'd love to come back.

Great location, nice service. Unfortunately the food (for me the burger) was very below average with significantly higher prices. There is clearly room for improvement in terms of taste.

You can rely on Blockhouse. Very good food with consistently very good service. The service for the children with gifts and always something to paint is especially great! The prices are really ok. And the quality is very good! We had to queue briefly. But it really didn't take long.

Highly recommended, fast service and excellent food

I was able to be a guest in this restaurant today and I was happy to go because I know that the food is always very good. Here in Berlin, as in other Block Hous restaurants, I was greeted and served by a very nice employee. During the meal, I witnessed a guest at the next table making a complaint. I think criticism is very good when you are dissatisfied; you can grow from it and change something. But it is always the way in which criticism is made. In this case it was rude, unconstructive and I found it very disrespectful to the employees. The fries were the deciding factor for this inappropriate criticism. The guest actually had the manager come for this, even though after eating the first half portion he was given a new one and then ate it completely. After all, he was so “fair” and gave up a discount and paid for the food he ate. Unfortunately, I couldn't resist telling the employee how impossible I found the guest's behavior and how I was really very satisfied with the food and, above all, the service. And what can I say, nice words still contribute to being treated kindly and courteously. How true is the saying: as you call into the forest, so it comes out again. The manager came to my table, thanked me for my kind words and invited me for a cappuccino and dessert. That's not a given, but it was definitely my kind words to the staff and treating each other with respect should always be a given. A big compliment to all the service and kitchen staff who often have to endure a lot and still always remain friendly. And don't forget, with such unpleasant guests, don't roll your eyes until you leave 😂, sometimes that's your right too!! Thank you for the great evening, the delicious food, the super friendly service and the lovely invitation, I will remember it for a long time. My nice pre-Christmas present 🥹

The food was very tasty. I think the meat was well seasoned, but sadly it was a bit grainy in texture. Maybe it wasn’t stored in an ideal manner. Nonetheless that didn’t spoil the whole experience. The staff was amazingly friendly and the atmosphere is quite nice. Just wish the tables would have a bit more privacy as it is normally the case in regular steakhouses, but again, it was just fine. Overall I would recommend it and would definitely come again for a second evaluation :)

The food was great. However the experience was not good. 1. We waited 110 min for our main dishes. 2. The main dishes were wrong so they need to change the dishes. 3. The drink we ordered was forgotten. 4. We got free dessert because all the mistakes. However, when we were paying I told the waiter the money including the tips clearly in German several times, he typed wrong amount and if my friend didn’t saw it we are paying wrong amount with more money. 5. The waiter doesn’t talk with us but only our German friend even we explain who is paying but he was just explaining the bill about what happened only to our German friend even I understand German.

A steakhouse as you would imagine, comfortable furnishings, upscale atmosphere. very friendly and fast service staff and tasty food. I was a guest here because I have a consumption credit of €150 from American Express Platinum. Participation in such actions speaks for this house. The menu is extensive and appropriate for a steakhouse. Vegetarians are less likely to be guests here anyway. The steaks were exactly as ordered. The dessert can also be described as delicious. The location in Berlin is excellent.

Service and ambience top. Unfortunately, both of our steaks were extremely tough and difficult to cut, let alone pleasant to eat. The waitress Conny was super friendly and when we told her that we couldn't eat the meat because it was just too tough, she said that we couldn't look inside. Sure, she can't help it, but the quality really wasn't good. At the next table, an older gentleman was complaining about the exact same thing. He said he couldn't eat the meat because it was just too tough and he got the same answer. Sure, the prices are high for good meat, but I'm happy to pay if the quality is right. Yesterday the quality was really nothing and that's a real shame.

I ate there with a friend on September 24th, 2024. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the quality, service and cleanliness of the restaurant. The portion sizes are now so small that even women can no longer feel full. I like the potato gratin, now only 150 gr., really not worth mentioning. The side dish should be enough for the meal, steak and when they ask for so much money, you can expect to be full!

As always, it's a real treat, I've been going there for many years for larger occasions (wedding anniversaries, big birthdays, etc.) and have never been disappointed. The staff is very friendly and prepared to answer questions without being abusive (worth mentioning today because it is no longer a standard) and the food is not only prepared in a reasonable time but is also of consistently high quality. The only thing that still upsets me is the price of a glass of water with lemon, especially when I'm there with children 🤣

We have been there three times with our kids and the service was always excellent. They make sure the kids are welcome - as soon as we sit, the kids get some crayons and toys). The food from the kids are the first to arrive. It is amazing! 🤩 The staff is always super friendly. The food is very good, but a bit pricey (4€ for a espresso). I definitely recommend to go there for lunch or dinner with your family.

A great steak restaurant! I went here with my mother and we both had a menu with steak, baked potato, garlic bread and salad. The steak was simply fantastic – perfectly cooked and incredibly tasty. The side dishes were also delicious. The price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. The service was friendly and quick, which made the experience even more enjoyable. All in all, a thoroughly successful visit – we’d love to come back!

We were out and about in Berlin late in the evening and wanted to eat something. On arrival we were warmly welcomed and escorted to a table of our choice. The menu offers a selection of appealing dishes. The very friendly and competent waiter made the visit to the Blockhaus much more valuable. The food was okay but only in combination with the service would we want to be a guest at the Blockhaus again if we were to choose a restaurant in the area. The food we ordered came quickly (15-20 minutes) and corresponded to the order placed. Overall, it was a nice and relaxed evening with great service and good food.

One more of this franchise, which due to its location in the Bikini shopping center, is very well located. The truth is that I have been to several of these places throughout Germany, and this is one more, the quality of their products and their cuisine is very acceptable. In this case, the personal treatment of the waiters fell short. It was distant, cold and out of place, Saturday night... okay but that's no reason. What was said improving this last point, recommended as always

Highly recommended! A super fine and tender piece of meat, and also a great pleasure, sharp cutlery :-). To top it all off, the service was very smooth and the price was quite reasonable. With a German beer it is a very tasty whole and worth repeating several times!

Block House fan for over 20 years - whether in Hamburg, Lübeck, Hanover, Braunschweig and also several times in Berlin! Never experienced a bad steak or bad service! Simply always good and to the point! Still fair at 28 euros for the rump steak!

Yesterday in Berlin at the zoo. Of course we hadn't reserved a seat, but we were offered a table very quickly. We were last here seven years ago. The food and service is exactly as we experienced it back then. Really great thumbs up here

Were here for dinner in the evening. We only had to wait a short time and got a table straight away. Very friendly waiter. One steak wasn't as ordered. It was exchanged for a new one without any problems and in a friendly manner and it was 100% in order. The quality is really okay for this price. The service was also very good. We will definitely come here to eat here again!

The food is really good and, unlike many other restaurants, they get the level of doneness you ordered professionally. But the prices have also increased quite a bit.

Terrible service. Most of the staff is super unfriendly and aggressive. I have been twice and the second time I decided not to have dinner there. I arrived at 20:30 and both of the time a the same blonde young waitress came and told me aggressively that I cannot eat outside because because “I wear a jacket but the waitress do not and they get sick with the cold”. It was 28 degrees outside but was too tired to respond so I left. Hope the owner can hire friendlier and more qualified staff since this is recurring and bot normal. This place is defenetly to avoid.

This was our second time in Berlin and we ate there several times each time. Always got a place straight away, friendly staff. Top quality from salad to dessert. Very child-friendly, something I've never experienced before, you immediately feel welcome. Special praise goes to "our" waiter Jeff, he was very friendly and very attentive to our son (us too, of course) and made sure that there was no boredom and that the first hunger was satisfied as quickly as possible. Thanks for that! We will definitely be back, a visit is highly recommended!

As always when we go to Block House, first class meat, very attentive staff and great service. Always an absolutely positive experience. We are and will remain loyal customers.

Great place for dinner and amazing service and attention by Ekrem. Ordered Mrs. Rumpsteak and rib-eye. it was so good, so tender. Salad was fresh and juicy. Apfelstrudel with vanilla ice cream is one of the best we eat ever. Enjoyed dinner a lot and thanks to chef and Ekrem.

I really enjoy eating here at least weekly. Compared to other Block House branches, this one is, in my opinion, the most appealing to me. Every service is polite and professional. I'm always offered my regular spot and they already know my order because I always eat the same thing - the T-bone steak. I was never disappointed with the quality of the food and that's rare for me. Even the salad is more than just a side dish and something you look forward to. I can't remember looking forward to a salad anywhere else.

As parents, we were very happy about how child-friendly the restaurant was! The service was extremely attentive and friendly. We have rarely felt so welcome with a baby and we would definitely like to come back and try the other dishes besides steak! Thanks!

The two of us went to Blockhouse and ate steak. Total €75 with side dish and drink. Overall, the food was good and tasty, but we're now getting to the point where we're sure we'll never eat there again. A woman sat alone next to our table and was flirted with by the waiter named Jeff while ordering. This continued while eating and waiting for the bill. When I asked the waiter about his way of serving us, which had previously been derogatory and not very polite (When my wife asked what salad dressings were available, he promptly replied with “Those are on the menu.”), he became disrespectful and asked what he hadn't done to us, what he had done to the lady next to us. Even when he actively mentioned his actions, there was no insight to be seen but rather an incredibly unreasonable manner. When I asked for the bill he left and cursed under his breath. I waited 15 minutes for the bill, which meant I had to speak to a waitress or the waitress manager. Only then did he come with the bill, which he miscalculated. We didn't even get a “nice evening” let alone a “goodbye”. I won't eat there again.

I've gone to Block House twice now just for the tartare, always delicious and extremely satisfied. Only the tartare could have 1 more slice of bread, unfortunately not everything fits on 2 slices.

I have eaten here with my family twice in a row, since the first time we ate wonderfully, and we prefer to make sure we eat good quality, quantity and better service. The price is high, but compared to the prices in Berlin, of similar restaurants, it is worth it. The waiter has been more than excellent, not only because he was efficient, he did everything possible to understand us through the language and any special requests, all with friendliness and good humor.

The food was very tasty and came relatively quickly. Unfortunately we didn't try the steak, but maybe another time. Before that there was a delicious salad with dressing. The price is really worth it. The employees were hardworking and friendly. A top restaurant! I would recommend it.

We came for lunch. In my opinion, the lunch menu should be offered without being asked and then available, which unfortunately wasn't the case here. Otherwise the service was good. However, the sirloin steak was delicious, as were the side dishes. Overall, it is a simply furnished but tasty steakhouse whose prices are a bit high. Overall 7.5/10 👍🏾

So well worth a visit the food is fantastic and really great value plus it’s so well situated. We left it a little late with our booking so next we’ll go a little earlier.
