The service was nice, but not particularly attentive – there were often full and empty glasses on the table at the same time, even though the staff came by several times. The salad to start with was tasty. The steak was well-seasoned and quite tasty, but despite ordering medium, it was almost completely cooked. For a steakhouse, the cooking level should be better.

Typical block house, with great gluten-free options. Unfortunately, the allergen list hasn't been updated, but the menu has. And the portions are getting smaller and smaller...

The waitresses were very friendly, and the atmosphere was really great. I had the American tenderloin with fries, the fresh salad as a starter, and the apple strudel for dessert. The quality of the food was fantastic.

When you want to eat steak in Germany, go to Blockhaus!

I can speak German, but sometimes people I travel with cannot. This restaurant, along with all the other BLOCK HOUSE locations, is very good at catering to folks who can't speak German. The atmosphere is always quite nice as well. The food is incredibly good - nothing very complex, but just good, simple, food. Everything is quite yummy, but I would highly recommend the baked potato if you do end up coming here.

As former Munich residents, we've been back in the city for a long time and have been to the former Maredo...now for some time now, the Block House, and it's been a winner in every way! A very pleasant and cozy atmosphere, very attentive and courteous staff...and the quality of the food—very fair prices despite being in the center of Munich—simply top-notch. We had the lamb rump and sirloin steak, which were divine; nothing to be desired—we'll definitely be back when we're in town again!

I was very pleasantly surprised by this steakhouse. I arrived as a single guest without a reservation and felt warmly welcomed and was even allowed to choose my own seat. Very attentive and friendly service, the steak was excellent, cooked to perfection. Absolutely delicious. I wondered why the decor was so dark. But that's a matter of taste and shouldn't influence my review. I'm delighted to have found a new favorite restaurant in Munich and would love to come back next time I'm in Munich.

It's a great restaurant. The staff is very friendly. The meat is very good. The hamburgers are legendary. The prices are quite reasonable.

It used to be an absolute insider tip, ten out of ten. The price/performance ratio was absolutely top-notch, but today it's not good at all. The service has deteriorated significantly. The service needs to be changed. The food was okay, but it used to be much better. I hope the boss reads this message, takes the staff to task, and changes things. Then we'll be happy to come back.

Nice steak restaurant. The meat could have been cooked 10 seconds longer on each side, but otherwise it was quite good. The salad had too much dressing; it could have been used for two salads. There was nothing wrong with the carpacio per se, but I expected a bit more. Since I order it at many other restaurants, I can say I was a bit disappointed here. The service was friendly and very quick, nothing to complain about.

It was ok. Took a rare rib eye 230g. It was ok but not a high quality tender steak I have in Canada. They are generous on wine serving but not on draft beer. Not actively taking care of you during the meal but borderline sufficiently. No tap water available when asked at the end of the meal.

The food was unfortunately very bad. Our steaks arrived completely cooked, which wasn't a problem, as the staff was immediately super friendly and brought new steaks. Unfortunately, the meat had a very strange taste. We didn't have to pay anything after complaining about the meat, but unfortunately, our hunger had passed. Please work on the quality of your meat, because the excuse that the animal was stressed unfortunately has nothing to do with this pungent taste. Thanks anyway for the very patient service! I don't accept the excuse about the stressed animal. The effects the next day unfortunately confirmed it…and not just on one person! I won't be going back to that place.

The food was very tasty, and it was nice that the waiters brought sour cream on their own. The waiters were friendly, and the food arrived promptly.

We had tried it with my family in Dusseldorf before and we liked it very much. The service, food and atmosphere are of the same quality and I recommend it.

My favorite steakhouse so far...very friendly service, but unfortunately the quality has been declining lately, especially with the Wednesday steak special. Sadly disappointing. Please improve so I can give it five stars again soon :-)

The steak was average, and the price was reasonable. The service was good, and the atmosphere was nice. However, the steak on the special menu was a little small that day.

Excellent restaurant. They have very good meat. The design of the place is very nice. The waiters are friendly. The only problem is that it is a bit expensive. But there are normal prices for a meat restaurant.

We waited over an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, half of our orders were missing and the food was a disappointment.

I was here with my wife and was already familiar with the Block House. I have eaten there in Stuttgart and Hamburg. We both ordered a Mr. Rumpsteak with a baked potato and salad, my wife's steak medium/done and mine medium-rare. My wife's steak came back even redder than mine, so I told the waitress that it wasn't what we had ordered. The plate went back to the kitchen in the meantime. In the meantime, I had to wait until my wife's plate came back a while later. The waitress said I would come back in a moment to ask if it was okay, but the steak was still too red. This annoyed me, and I told the waitress, who of course couldn't do anything about it, that I didn't like it. The waitress then said we would repeat the order because you can't cook the meat three times and my food had gone cold in the meantime. As I said, after a while, both orders were served again, and although my wife's steak was still not medium-done, the blood wasn't as prominent as before. Overall, I didn't think Block House's performance was good...

The food was, as expected from Block House, very good. The service was particularly good. Our server was Vy. He was still in training and did an excellent job. 👍 He was friendly and accommodating, and he contributed to a wonderful evening for us.

A nice steak with a great crust and a juicy center. I like the ribeye steak best. It's served with a nice Pilsner. For dessert, a warm chocolate cake with chocolate sauce and strawberries.

The food was very tasty but the hall was very noisy due to the many guests

The rib-eye steak was incredibly tough, the bread was soft, and the sour cream contained dried parsley instead of fresh. It really wasn't good. I left almost all of the meat uneaten and reported it as tough, but no one cared. It's a shame, we won't be going there anymore.

People have different tastes, but the food is inedible and tasteless. However, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is nice. I hope they improve the quality of the food.

This restaurant had the taste and feel of a good American Steak House. If are from the USA and you need a "Taste" from home this is the place. We all had steak and wine. Oh, and a great salad.

Rarely have I eaten such a poorly prepared piece of meat. Steak was more like the sole of a shoe than a delicious dish. The service is not willing to show any goodwill, instead they refer to “internal regulations”. Once and never again!

The service is zero - no one even brought a menu in 10 minutes, as if they didn’t notice the visitors. And the smell in the establishment is unpleasant, I’ve been to other restaurants in the chain - there were no such problems, I really liked it

It's a perfect place, the meat was great, if you want to eat meat in a quiet and beautiful environment, I think you should definitely consider it.. the waiters were very friendly and sincere, the salad and potatoes accompanying the meat were superb, thank you very much, I recommend it to everyone..

bad service. I waited over an hour for my food. Steak was still cold. You notice how disadvantaged you are in the restaurant. Other tables that came after me all got their food earlier. The kebab shop and burger shop right next to it are highly recommended, but fast service and everything is perfect.

Only came out with one plate of food when we ordered 4, took ages to receive the correct food and not good service at all. They offered free bruschetta when waiting for the food, but arrived when the food was done 40 min later.

Just disappointing. We wanted to have a leisurely lunch with the family and waited over 30 minutes for our food. Other tables that came after us were served before us, while our waitress completely ignored us - not a look, not a word, nothing. We had to look for someone to even be noticed. When the food finally came, the next disappointment: My “American salad” had NO lettuce. Just four pieces of dry chicken and a potato – that’s it. The burger? Just meat and chips, no bread, no anything. The bread that we had specially ordered was a greasy something that was more reminiscent of an old fair fry. We only paid because we had to look for someone again. No apology, no accommodation - just collected money and that was it. To be honest: it was neither tasty nor friendly nor well organized in any way. Save yourself the visit – there are plenty of better places in the area.

My family and I, 4 people, wanted to eat here because it was recommended to us by a friend - what a mistake! We ordered burgers and coke, but after a whopping 45 minutes there was still nothing. It was only after we spoke to a member of staff that they even realized that they had simply forgotten our food! The cola had been sitting around for so long that the ice had completely melted - an absolute joke. And when we finally finished and wanted to pay, nothing happened again. We sat around for 15 minutes until we finally went to the checkout ourselves. Not a single word of apology, not a look, not nothing. You are treated as if you were invisible. We paid a tidy sum only to be completely ignored. And the food? Tasteless, completely carelessly prepared - like you were chewing cardboard. Despite this disastrous experience, no one even felt the need to apologize or offer a discount. No - we were allowed to pay in full for one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. It feels like you're paying to be treated badly. An absolute failure – we will never come back!

Regular food but according to the price you pay. Good solution if you haven't booked anything and don't have anywhere to eat

Was pretty disappointed. Some time ago we were in Nuremberg at the Block House and the visit was terrible (it depends on the service). In Munich the service was top. There was a lot going on, even the management helped. Unfortunately, that doesn't make the food taste any better. Crispy fried must also be crispy and not soft and not completely cooked through in some places. Please don't answer that we could have complained about it. The store was full and we were hungry. In addition, not everyone has the courage to complain about their food. There is still room for improvement but we won't be able to get to Munich any time soon.

An absolute must for all steak lovers! You feel welcome from the very first second. The service is attentive, friendly, and professional – just the right mix of warm and unobtrusive. The highlight, of course, is the steak: perfectly grilled, with a wonderful crust on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The quality of the meat speaks for itself! The side dishes and sauces are also first-class. The atmosphere is stylish and cozy, ideal for a relaxed evening with friends. In conclusion: An all-around successful experience. If you want to enjoy a first-class steak, this is the place! I will definitely be back.

Very attentive staff! For our son's 18th birthday, champagne was spontaneously served and small gifts were handed out. We didn't expect that and were absolutely positively surprised. Thank you for that!!!

If you know the Block House on Leopoldstrasse, it will immediately seem familiar. And it tastes just as delicious! My favorite is the American tenderloin medium and the French dressing on the salad. For years now!

It’s not a good dining experience. We got a table for two in a small corner next to cutlery counter with a black ground of moo moo drawing. The staff that was working in my area was rude and seemed like not willing to service me except when she wanted to finish the bill payment. While other staff were nice when I asked them to bring my beer order that she forgot to serve. The way she cleared my table after we asked for the bill was super rude and unprofessional. She throw everything with loud noises on the counter top next to us and also told me she needed the plate when I was about to finish my food. It’s such a very bad dining experience. She made me feel like we were asking for free food. I was so disappointed while we got this bad staff in our area. We were unlucky that we couldn’t be seated in other areas that staff were nice and friendly. Food was good but I didn’t feel enjoy it because of the rude service.

Great service, good steaks and a great location

I visited this restaurant and was absolutely delighted! The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff are friendly and attentive. The service is at the highest level - I spoke English, and the waitress helped me choose a dish without any problems, for which I thank her very much. The draft beer turned out to be incredibly tasty. And the steak is just a masterpiece! Perfectly roasted, the most delicate texture - it literally melted in your mouth. The salad, fries and toasted bread were also a delight - everything was simply delicious. Will definitely come back here again!

We are regular customers of Block Haus. It's the best restaurant for meat. The staff is very nice, always ready and happy to play with children. I can only recommend it.

I recently had an experience with the security personnel that left me quite disappointed. Unfortunately, the security officer was neither friendly nor polite, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. A more professional and courteous approach would have gone a long way in ensuring a better overall experience. I hope the management addresses this issue to improve future interactions with guests and employees.

One of the best steak restaurants. Since a reservation is not possible, we had to wait a few minutes but got a small glass of white wine in return, great! Very friendly, very well organized, very nice atmosphere, very tasty meat as well as the other side dishes. Despite being at full capacity, the food was prepared and served quickly. Update Feb ‘25: tried them again. Ordered a rump steak. The order took about 45 minutes. When it arrived, the rump steak was room temperature. The french fries/Pommes were also room temperature. I sampled one bite from each end. I brought it to the waiter’s attention. He returned it 5 minutes later with both ends cut off, and it tasted like it had been microwaved. Had a funny taste. It was I presume the same piece of meat — really unprofessional. No apology, no explanation. Original review Jan ‘24: Ordered a burger and it came very well done, (Durch). Also quite fatty.

No matter whether in a large or small group, Blockhouse has a very pleasant atmosphere. The American flair is given by the appropriate background music and the style of preparation and catering also reflects this. We ordered the Mrs. Rumpsteak and the Herford Rip Eye and were very impressed by their quality. The prices are reasonable. We didn't really like the sour cream, which tasted a bit artificial and not so fresh. Kudos to the staff and especially Bongie, who was able to provide detailed knowledge of the steakhouse's products. We had a really nice evening and would like to thank you very much for this wonderful experience. We will definitely visit this restaurant again!
