Block House in München

The service is zero - no one even brought a menu in 10 minutes, as if they didn’t notice the visitors. And the smell in the establishment is unpleasant, I’ve been to other restaurants in the chain - there were no such problems, I really liked it

Food was alright. And as we were celebrating a birthday the manager kindly offered us Prosecco.

Amazing food, the atmosphere is great and the service is fantastic. Baha served us and she is one of the most friendly waitresses we’ve encountered in our trip. Would recommend anyone visiting.

It's a perfect place, the meat was great, if you want to eat meat in a quiet and beautiful environment, I think you should definitely consider it.. the waiters were very friendly and sincere, the salad and potatoes accompanying the meat were superb, thank you very much, I recommend it to everyone..

bad service. I waited over an hour for my food. Steak was still cold. You notice how disadvantaged you are in the restaurant. Other tables that came after me all got their food earlier. The kebab shop and burger shop right next to it are highly recommended, but fast service and everything is perfect.

The service is too slow and employees scared that we are gonna order food!!! The food was not cooked well and it was so weak in taste. Never go there again. It is one of the most decent places that you can have a very good options of beef 🥩. We had prime time and rib eye. Salad with french dressing was very good. We liked it.

My family and I, 4 people, wanted to eat here because it was recommended to us by a friend - what a mistake! We ordered burgers and coke, but after a whopping 45 minutes there was still nothing. It was only after we spoke to a member of staff that they even realized that they had simply forgotten our food! The cola had been sitting around for so long that the ice had completely melted - an absolute joke. And when we finally finished and wanted to pay, nothing happened again. We sat around for 15 minutes until we finally went to the checkout ourselves. Not a single word of apology, not a look, not nothing. You are treated as if you were invisible. We paid a tidy sum only to be completely ignored. And the food? Tasteless, completely carelessly prepared - like you were chewing cardboard. Despite this disastrous experience, no one even felt the need to apologize or offer a discount. No - we were allowed to pay in full for one of the worst experiences we have ever had in a restaurant. It feels like you're paying to be treated badly. An absolute failure – we will never come back!

Just disappointing. We wanted to have a leisurely lunch with the family and waited over 30 minutes for our food. Other tables that came after us were served before us, while our waitress completely ignored us - not a look, not a word, nothing. We had to look for someone to even be noticed. When the food finally came, the next disappointment: My “American salad” had NO lettuce. Just four pieces of dry chicken and a potato – that’s it. The burger? Just meat and chips, no bread, no anything. The bread that we had specially ordered was a greasy something that was more reminiscent of an old fair fry. We only paid because we had to look for someone again. No apology, no accommodation - just collected money and that was it. To be honest: it was neither tasty nor friendly nor well organized in any way. Save yourself the visit – there are plenty of better places in the area.

Only came out with one plate of food when we ordered 4, took ages to receive the correct food and not good service at all. They offered free bruschetta when waiting for the food, but arrived when the food was done 40 min later.

Regular food but according to the price you pay. Good solution if you haven't booked anything and don't have anywhere to eat

Was pretty disappointed. Some time ago we were in Nuremberg at the Block House and the visit was terrible (it depends on the service). In Munich the service was top. There was a lot going on, even the management helped. Unfortunately, that doesn't make the food taste any better. Crispy fried must also be crispy and not soft and not completely cooked through in some places. Please don't answer that we could have complained about it. The store was full and we were hungry. In addition, not everyone has the courage to complain about their food. There is still room for improvement but we won't be able to get to Munich any time soon.

The steak master truly has a license to grill! The steak was so delicious and tender; I wanted it medium rare, simply fantastic! The service was very friendly and attentive! The restaurant has a feel-good factor! I also liked the value for money! Thank you, I'll be back!

An absolute must for all steak lovers! You feel welcome from the very first second. The service is attentive, friendly, and professional – just the right mix of warm and unobtrusive. The highlight, of course, is the steak: perfectly grilled, with a wonderful crust on the outside and juicy and tender on the inside. The quality of the meat speaks for itself! The side dishes and sauces are also first-class. The atmosphere is stylish and cozy, ideal for a relaxed evening with friends. In conclusion: An all-around successful experience. If you want to enjoy a first-class steak, this is the place! I will definitely be back.

Very attentive staff! For our son's 18th birthday, champagne was spontaneously served and small gifts were handed out. We didn't expect that and were absolutely positively surprised. Thank you for that!!!

If you know the Block House on Leopoldstrasse, it will immediately seem familiar. And it tastes just as delicious! My favorite is the American tenderloin medium and the French dressing on the salad. For years now!

It’s not a good dining experience. We got a table for two in a small corner next to cutlery counter with a black ground of moo moo drawing. The staff that was working in my area was rude and seemed like not willing to service me except when she wanted to finish the bill payment. While other staff were nice when I asked them to bring my beer order that she forgot to serve. The way she cleared my table after we asked for the bill was super rude and unprofessional. She throw everything with loud noises on the counter top next to us and also told me she needed the plate when I was about to finish my food. It’s such a very bad dining experience. She made me feel like we were asking for free food. I was so disappointed while we got this bad staff in our area. We were unlucky that we couldn’t be seated in other areas that staff were nice and friendly. Food was good but I didn’t feel enjoy it because of the rude service.

Great service, good steaks and a great location

I visited this restaurant and was absolutely delighted! The atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff are friendly and attentive. The service is at the highest level - I spoke English, and the waitress helped me choose a dish without any problems, for which I thank her very much. The draft beer turned out to be incredibly tasty. And the steak is just a masterpiece! Perfectly roasted, the most delicate texture - it literally melted in your mouth. The salad, fries and toasted bread were also a delight - everything was simply delicious. Will definitely come back here again!

Once a block house, always a block house

Best steak I've eaten in a long time. Prices are very good, cheap steaks. Two people including drinks <50 euros

We are regular customers of Block Haus. It's the best restaurant for meat. The staff is very nice, always ready and happy to play with children. I can only recommend it.

I recently had an experience with the security personnel that left me quite disappointed. Unfortunately, the security officer was neither friendly nor polite, which created an uncomfortable atmosphere. A more professional and courteous approach would have gone a long way in ensuring a better overall experience. I hope the management addresses this issue to improve future interactions with guests and employees.

Really great service. Very attentive. The price is rather cheaper for a steakhouse. Unfortunately, the ribeye and rump steak didn't blow us away. Wasn't as tender as we imagined. Still ok

One of the best steak restaurants. Since a reservation is not possible, we had to wait a few minutes but got a small glass of white wine in return, great! Very friendly, very well organized, very nice atmosphere, very tasty meat as well as the other side dishes. Despite being at full capacity, the food was prepared and served quickly. The price-performance ratio is great! One of the best steak restaurants I've visited. Really mega!👍

Update Feb ‘25: tried them again. Ordered a rump steak. The order took about 45 minutes. When it arrived, the rump steak was room temperature. The french fries/Pommes were also room temperature. I sampled one bite from each end. I brought it to the waiter’s attention. He returned it 5 minutes later with both ends cut off, and it tasted like it had been microwaved. Had a funny taste. It was I presume the same piece of meat — really unprofessional. No apology, no explanation. Original review Jan ‘24: Ordered a burger and it came very well done, (Durch). Also quite fatty.

Ambience was fine. Service was extremely unfriendly and brisk (a male waiter), especially when you didn't give a tip because of the poor service, he became almost aggressive. Food was rather mediocre, half was missing or wrong. Prices were very non-transparent and the receipt was not even handed out. Was the first and last visit!

Nice atmosphere, good food and friendly staff

No matter whether in a large or small group, Blockhouse has a very pleasant atmosphere. The American flair is given by the appropriate background music and the style of preparation and catering also reflects this. We ordered the Mrs. Rumpsteak and the Herford Rip Eye and were very impressed by their quality. The prices are reasonable. We didn't really like the sour cream, which tasted a bit artificial and not so fresh. Kudos to the staff and especially Bongie, who was able to provide detailed knowledge of the steakhouse's products. We had a really nice evening and would like to thank you very much for this wonderful experience. We will definitely visit this restaurant again!

BLOCK HOUSE is a great steakhouse and highly recommended. Located near Rindermarkt and St. Peter's Church in Munich. There are steaks, lamb chops, etc. The menu has a variety of choices, and the portions are filling enough and taste good; the important thing is that the price is not too high. The interior space is very large and there are many seats. We didn't make a reservation, but we didn't wait too long. The interior seats are spacious, comfortable, and never feel crowded. Tonight we enjoyed Filet Mignon Pfälzer Weißwein Cuvee Coca-Cola The filet is medium rare, the beef is very tasty, not dry or hard, and very delicious. The potato that comes with it is so big and really filling. I will definitely come back next time I come to Munich.

Guests very loud next to us. The meat was a bit sour. And dessert tasted like fish.

Hambuguer is not a traditional hamburger with only o e slice of bread. It took a while for the food to arrive even the restaurant was not full.

Far too small portions. We waited almost 30 minutes for our food and then received sobering portions. The “CheeseBurger” was simply a meat patty on a baguette with cheese gratin. Plus a scoop of frozen fries and a teaspoon of coleslaw for €18. I don't know if that's the Munich standard but it's definitely too much

Lovely steakhouse in the centre of Munich. Steak was really tasty and portion sizes were very generous with a salad included in the main steak menu. The variety of dressings was good to satisfy multiple taste types. (I got sweet and my partner got spicy). The baked potato was lovely and soft with lots of sour cream. Extra sour cream is provided for the table. House bread was crispy and garlicky. Service was a bit slow and there is a small reserved area which can be booked in advance.

It is useful to make a reservation, especially if you are going after 17:00. We ordered Hereford Ribeye as our main course. It is served with Italian or American style salad, garlic bread and creamy potatoes. We tried Goulash soup and Bull soup as soup. We were very pleased with everything we ate, I definitely recommend it. Maybe you may pass the order Bull Soup:)

Mr. Rumsteak was very good. The rib eye also tasted very good but unfortunately there was a lot of cartilage. Points were deducted for the potato, which unfortunately didn't taste good at all. Service very good and prices are ok.

Woooooow unbelievable nice and quite restaurants to sit and enjoy your visit. We loved the "American style" decoration and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service amazing, really no pressure at all and you can really sit and enjoy a calm meal. Make sure you are a bit patient during rush hour as there is usually a queue.

One of the most child-friendly restaurants we have ever visited. The waiter noticed us as soon as we entered and provided pens and painting supplies as well as children's cutlery. All in all, a relaxed meal with children! Many thanks to the extremely friendly staff and the perfect food!

My favorite of the chain restaurants and so far I've never been disappointed. However, today everything was different! As always, I ordered my steak which comes with salad first. I planned to have an aperitif with this starter and a red wine with the main course. However, the aperitif only came when the starter was almost over and at the same time the steak arrived which I had to send back. When the steak was served to me again later, I ordered the glass of red wine, which only came when I had already finished this sumptuous main course! Conclusion: The food comes faster than the drinks, which is absolutely unusual! I hope Block House can get the synchronization of the drinks under control....

Customers probably don't need it... We waited at the entrance for almost 10 minutes (it's a big deal), were seen by dozens of staff & no one felt it necessary to give us a table. It's a shame, we were looking forward to a nice evening

Was now also in the third Block House in Munich. Nice atmosphere, very friendly reception. The service is actually very friendly, but I don't want to have my plate handed to me in the restaurant. As a guest you will also be involved when clearing up. The meat quality and cooking level are good, but I find the prices to be borderline. Overall, I can recommend the restaurant.

My wife and I had a table reservation at Block House München Rindermarkt on December 9th. We were greeted at the entrance of the restaurant by a lady who said that reservations didn't matter that evening and that we had to wait in line just like everyone else (10-15 people) who didn't have a reservation. Other people around us were in the same situation, and of course we couldn't believe it. When two people left the restaurant after their reservation was rejected, the lady even responded with "very good!" Reacts. Of course we then left the restaurant. When a reservation is confirmed, it must be honored by restaurant staff. I've never had an experience like this at a restaurant. Outrageous!

We really enjoy visiting Block House restaurants because we can rely on and be pleased that the standards are being met. We were greeted very friendly and given competent advice/service. The food was delicious and we can totally understand the adjustments to the meat weight. The quality of the meat is excellent, we would love to come back. Unfortunately, Leipzig does not yet have a block house.

Price/performance ratio is right...great service...fast and unobtrusive...the burger was "en su punto"!😉 The restaurant was full but you didn't feel cramped... it wasn't too loud... and with the right people it's fine anyway... easy to reach by public transport...

We ordered ribeye steaks and let me tell you... It is an absolute must. The steak was delicious, the potatoes and the garlic bread as well. Everything was great. Totally recommend it.

I am always impressed by their Steak. They are good and affordable. Also when you are downtown Munich, I think the prices are affordable and their steak is also relatively good quality. I enjoy visiting block house time to time. Service could improve a bit but everything else is ok.

The Putin Steaks were well seasoned, but could have been a bit more tender.

Unfortunately I've already fallen for it twice with Hereford ribeye steak, totally stringy. The baked potato was also very watery and tasteless. Everything was better a year ago. There seems to be a compromise on quality here. However, the staff was great and offered alternatives and brought new steak (Mrs. Rumpsteak, was okay) and new potatoes, which weren't any better.

Food was fantastic! The steaks are butter hard and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was extremely attentive, polite and accommodating. The price is of course a little higher, but you know that when you eat steak. Were with our seven year old daughter; She also really enjoyed it. Was given art supplies while waiting and balloons and a scarf when saying goodbye. Thumbs all the way up! The ambience is not 5* standard, but you are aware of that when you stop at a chain. All in all worth a visit!

This was so disappointing. I ordered my steak medium rare. It came out 5 minutes later still cold it was so rare. So I asked for it to be brought up to temp. 3 minutes later they sent it back out still rare as rare can be. It was gross and bleeding all over my plate but I was hungry and over it so I ate my garlic bread and cold potato gratin and left. Worst meal I had Munich.

Steaks are recommended. So the restaurant was founded in 1969 and to this day the quality of the food is consistent with the brand. Nevertheless, I deducted points because of the operation (it should be improved, I think)

This was my second time in this restaurant and it was excellent again. The service was attentive and friendly, the atmosphere was very pleasant and the food was simply fantastic! Every dish was perfectly prepared and the quality of the ingredients was impressive.

Steak was not bad. But the waitress took my change as a tip. I paid 100euro for my 80euro meal. She didn't give any change. That made my Day unpleasant. I won't visit again and i hope this will not happen again.
