Blaues Zebra in Leipzig

Unfortunately, my experience at this restaurant was rather mediocre. It was the first time I've eaten fufu in my life, so it's difficult for me to judge the food. We were given a large bottle of soft drink without a glass. It was already expired and looked dusty and sticky, simply unappetizing. The gentleman who served us was nice and wanted to give us good advice, but unfortunately there was an argument between the person who took our order and the person who brought us the food. The situation seemed very unpleasant to us. I found the price of the food quite high considering it wasn't such an upscale establishment. Unfortunately, I can't judge whether the price was appropriate.

For me, the best restaurant in all of Leipzig. The taste is simply amazing! I'm a chef myself and spent many years traveling in India and Africa – and I have to say: The food here is truly authentic, full of flavor, and noticeably prepared with love. I really appreciate that the menu is deliberately kept small. Most restaurants try to offer 200 dishes – and hardly any of them get them all right. Here, in contrast, a small, fine selection – and every single dish is really well done.

The ambiance might not seem particularly fancy at first, but it's somehow harmonious and comfortable. The service was quick and the food was excellent! We were probably just having a bad day; the selection of drinks and food was limited, but the main courses were all available, and that's the most important thing. All in all, I'll definitely come back and maybe try the desserts too.

The food was quite good, but the value for money wasn't great. I could eat much better quality food for the same price.

The waiters were very friendly, were there until shortly before closing time and were still not stressed but gave very friendly advice and service. Food was very tasty and came quickly, nice background music, nice quiet atmosphere, good prices Top. I can only recommend it, I had dinner there today with a friend. Feel free to try the restaurant! The wait for the food was 10000% worth it. It took a little longer, but when we got the food, we couldn't get enough of the variety of flavors and the freshness. It was a great evening. PS: Try the Top Lemonade Grenadine... It kind of blew me away 😅

Must have been having a bad day. We ordered appetizers and main courses. After an hour, the two "avocado salads" actually arrived as starters. So, a large plate each with a few iceberg lettuce leaves and half an avocado on top, with a very sour vinaigrette on the side, and that's it. €10 per portion. The main courses arrived two hours after ordering! The first half was served at the next table. To compensate, we were served the food from the next table a quarter of an hour later, without asking. I've rarely seen a steak that black, and it was correspondingly dry. €20. When we wanted to pay, we were simply given a total. Only when we asked was it manually added up, sometimes incorrect prices were given, and they claimed the menu had old prices. There was no leniency for the swapped dishes. Since everything cost €20, it wouldn't matter. There was no bill. It was all very weird! Not again.

Absolutely tasty! Very nice and kind personnel. The entrance is a bit hidden, it’s inside a building, but it made the restaurant even more cozy. Good atmosphere with Afro music in the background.

Landed in the Blue Zebra by chance. Africa (Cameroon) at its best. Tasty, authentic...and also the beer from Cameroon! Gladly again at any time! P.S.; the ambience is REAL 🙃

The food is super delicious and they even delivered late. I highly recommend fufu with ndole or spinach sauce!

I love the food. Delivery process is sometimes a bit challenging but the food and staff make up for it in every way.

In terms of lighting, it can confuse me from the outside of the building's attention on site.

The atmosphere is great, especially for the Black community it seems to be a great place to connect. The service was very customer-oriented and the food came quickly and tasted delicious. Unfortunately, the portion of fufu with any side dish is too big for me personally, but that's probably an individual matter. Highly recommended restaurant.

Very simple restaurant, without any African flair. Instead of napkins there was a piece of kitchen roll. The taste was ok, but it didn't leave a lasting impression. We won't be coming back.

Went there for the first time today and were pleasantly surprised. The food was delicious and there was a lot of it, the service was warm and very accommodating and the ambience was appropriate. We'll definitely be back.

First time I eat Taro: a tuber typical in Africa. It was served with meat and vegetables. It was well cooked and the dish was tasty. Unusual for me,but I love to taste new things. That's why I came to the Blue Zebra! The owner looks really a good and friendly person. Nice African watercolours hanged on the walls. Good place! Authentic and not pretentious!

If you want authentic and delicious food, this is the place for you. Also very child friendly. You shouldn't go with German standards and expect everything to be done according to DIN standards and at a fast pace, but with love. Even my in-laws liked it! Highly recommended - just something different!

It was delicious. The staff is nice, restaurant tables were sticky, floor not cleaned and restaurant a bit neglected, which is a shame. There were no dips served directly with the food (yam fries, for example), which is a bit of a shame. Yeast balls were good!

The food was delicious! Never had anything like it. Even though I am not a vegetarian, I feel the vegan dishes are the best. The meat was very good and tasty, but see above. Especially the Fufu was good! And last but not least, they have a very friendly service. If I come back to Leipzig, I will certainly come back for more 🤞🙏😋

I'm on a business trip in Leipzig and was looking for an African restaurant. I ordered Poulet DG on recommendation and it was authentic and excellent. I would be happy to come back and recommend the Blue Zebra to anyone who would like to try Africa and especially Cameroon.

We had food delivered and therefore cannot rate the ambience. The food came on time, hot and was delicious.

When I ordered for the first time I was already disappointed (it was 3 hours late and the food wasn't particularly good). I wanted to give it a second chance. I ordered directly from the homepage. I called 5 minutes before the desired delivery time because my order had not yet been confirmed. For some reason it wasn't accepted. The employee wanted to do it during the phone call and said "they're just side dishes". I can probably order whatever I want. I had the order canceled. If you can't get it organized, you shouldn't offer delivery.

The employees are very friendly and the food tastes homemade, delicious and definitely fills you up. Special thanks to Taba Keutcha, who, in addition to this restaurant, also does extremely valuable work in the anti-racism world and has also written books that you can buy in the Blue Zebra. thank you very much 🙏🏾

Wir haben uns heute zum erdten mal im Blauen Zebra Essen bestellt. Leider kam es kalt an und hat somit nicht mehr geschmeckt. Der Reis war auch verklebt. Ich war enttäuscht, da ich hier soviele positive Rezensionen gelesen habe. Es wird von uns keine weitere Bestellung geben. Schade.

Sehr nettes kleines Restaurant, leider etwas zu versteckt und unauffällig von außen. Das Ambiente war zurückhaltend ansprechend mit passender Musik. Die Speisekarte war etwas ungewohnt und bietet dennoch eine große Auswahl veganer Küche. Es war sehr lecker und hat jedem gemundet. Die Drinks waren etwas stark gemixt aber noch ganz gut. Der Service war sehr nett lässt sich aber noch etwas verbessern. Es war ein sehr schöner Abend in großer Runde und ich würde gerne mal wieder hin gehen.

Also der Ort ist definitiv kein normales Restaurant, sondern auch ein Tanzzentrum ! Das Essen ist nicht unlecker und das Personal ist super freundlich ! Kann nur den gegrillten Fisch empfehlen 🤗

Total schönes Restaurant um authentische kamerunische Speisen zu genießen! Das Essen ist sehr lecker gewürzt und alles super frisch frisch zubereitet. Große Empfehlung - wir werden definitiv wiederkommen.

Wir waren das erste Mal im "Blauen Zebra" in der Hans - Pöche - Straße. Von der afrikanischen Küche hatten wir bisher keine Ahnung und waren deshalb etwas skeptisch. Doch wir wurden belohnt. Das Essen war lecker, trotz das wir 1 1/4 Stunde auf das Essen warten mussten. Vermutlich dauert die frische Zubereitung so lange?! Das Bier gibt es in Flaschen ohne Gläser. Ok, wir haben auch nach Gläsern nicht gefragt. Wir haben uns aber wohlgefühlt. Alles ganz entspannt und relaxt. Wir kommen bestimmt bald wieder!

Absolut tolles Restaurant! Auch viele vegane Speisen und super zentral gelegen (nur wenige Minuten vom Hbf). Wir haben uns direkt wohlgefühlt. Das Personal war super nett und das Essen einfach mega lecker! Auch für den kleinen Geldbeutel einen Besuch wert! Familienfreundliche Atmosphäre. Ich werde es weiterempfehlen und wir werden definitiv wieder herkommen, wenn wir mal wieder in Leipzig sind!

Wir hatten zum Liefern für mehrere Personen bestellt. Das Warten hatte sich definitiv gelohnt! Es war mega lecker, hatte die perfekte Temperatur & auch der nette Herr der das Essen ausgeliefert hat, war richtig herzlich. Blaues Zebra in Leipzig lohnt sich wirklich!

Die 1-Stern-Bewertungen sind absolut nicht verständlich. Wartezeit hat sich absolut gelohnt. Essen war megalecker und ich brauche jetzt 3 Tage nichts mehr essen.

Das war mein erstes mal FUFU. War einfach Lecker. Yummi! Die Lieferung und Lieferzeit zum Campingplatz bei dem Ausmaß der Bestellung -10 Personen- war auch super. Nur zu empfehlen!

Super leckeres Essen und Afrikanisches Bier. Nettes Personal, das Ambiente ist zwar etwas gewöhnungsbedürftig aber sauber und ordentlich.

Hatten hier ein authentisch afrikanisches essen und auch wenn das Ambiente eher an eine Bahnhofshalle erinnert würde ich jederzeit dort wieder essen gehen.

Das einzige Problem bei unserem Besuch war, das wenige Menschen da waren. Also kommt in Scharen hierher!! Afrobeats und super leckeres Essen in großen Portionen. Bin Fan :)

Sehr freundlich und sehr lecker. Wir haben zu zweit gegessen, mehrere Gerichte bestellt und alles geteilt. Somit hatten wir viel Abwechslung und jedes Gericht hat sehr gut geschmeckt. Gerne hätten wir die übrigen Gerichte auch probiert.

Das Buffet für unsere Familienfeier war super lecker und auch von der Menge absolut ausreichend. Außerdem wurde auf all unsere Wünsche eingegangen. Die Kommunikation mit Taba war sehr angenehm, unkompliziert und entgegenkommend. Vielen Dank! :)

Beim Umzug ist viel verloren gegangen . Das Ambiente Das Bier Und ein Teil vom Essen Das Restaurant ist sehr ungemütlich, wie eine Kantine. Kahle ,klebrige Tische ohne Deko ,zusammen geschoben. Die großen Fotos und die nicht platzierte Deko in den Ecken macht es nicht besser. Ich hätte kein Problem mit einer kleinen Tageskarte von 2 oder 3 Gerichten gehabt. Unangenehm ist es mir wenn Teile der Karte nur auf Vorbestellung ist und Gerichte die ich mir dann aussuche , und auf die ich mich freue , nicht kochbar sind weil Zutaten dafür fehlen. Genau das selbe mit dem Bier. Warum eine Karte wenn es nur 2 Sorten gibt? Es machte auf mich nicht den Eindruck einen Neuanfang im Restaurant sondern eher eines Ausverkaufs. Personal war freundlich aber unsicher.

Wir waren zu viert dort. Einfach entspannt und ohne Hektik, so ist das wirklich angenehm. Das Essen ist sehr gut und auch die Getränke sind so, wie man sie woanders gewohnt ist. Lieferung ist auch möglich 😊

Na hab es mal mit Freunden ausprobiert, ob ich noch mal komme? Glaub nicht. Das Personal etwas ungeplant unterwegs, Einrichtung sehr sporadisch, Essen ok, gemütlich nein.

Everything quite alright. The place seems fairly authentic, with regional beers and dishes from Kamerun and Africa. Prices are fair, but not a bargain. Service is friendly, but not always professional, sometimes forgetful.

Leckeres Essen, nette Leute! Ich habe Gombo mit Fufu bestellt, perfekte Menge von allem. Sehr zufrieden. Beignets mit Bohnen waren auch sehr gut.

Das Essen ist sehr gut, ich glaube sie ziehen an einen anderen Standort.

Ein schönes Restaurant mit extrem freundlichem und hilfsbereitem Personal. Das Essen war auch sehr sehr lecker - nur eins von fünf Gerichten hat nicht zu 100% überzeugt (eher so 85%), der Rest war grandios! Klare Empfehlung an alle, die gerade noch auf der Suche nach dem passenden Restaurant sind. Größere Gruppen scheinen kein Problem zu sein. (Auch für Leseratten empfehlenswert, nur so als Tipp.)

Wir waren gestern mit 8 Leuten zu Gast. Größtenteils haben wir vegan bestellt. Alle Teller leer, alle glücklich, alles lecker. Die afrikanischen Biere sind lecker. Große 650ml Flaschen für die durstigen. Etwas Musik in Hintergrund würde die Atmosphäre aufwerten. Aber und wurde gesagt man zieht in wenigen Wochen um, größere Location und Küche. Freue mich auf den nächsten Besuch.
