Yesterday, while visiting home, I spontaneously stopped in with a friend. It's a quaint little place. From the moment you order to the moment you leave, you receive courteous and attentive service. The menu is small, clear, and plentiful. The food is freshly prepared and delicious. We felt at home and will definitely not be our last visit. The ambiance perfectly matches the location. You can read about the restaurant's history on the menu. My conclusion: I have the utmost respect for the owners, as they run this place as a team. Stay the way you are and keep your cheerfulness. We took a trip there with my grandfather, who is the namesake of "Erich-Thiele-Straße," and ended the day at the Pappelschänke. Hungry and thirsty, we spontaneously turned off in Lindenthal on our way back from Schladitzer See to Leipzig by bike. Our destination: a beer garden. Upon entering the Pappelschänke, my village-child heart leapt. A seating area under wine, perfectly tempered draft beer in a beer tulip, the best pub food, and a genuine, up-front crowd (you either like it or you don't). We then completely disappeared. No problem. It was over when the last guests were about to leave.

We were invited to a birthday dinner today. The host welcomed us very warmly. The food was a compliment to the chef; everything tasted great. We'll be back again for a private dinner. We really enjoyed it.

I spontaneously stopped by on my bike on a Friday evening. It was very crowded, but the owner was super relaxed and friendly, and the service was prompt. Plus, there's a cozy beer garden—it was almost unbelievable, perfect!

Stopped by here today based on a recommendation. We were greeted politely and served quickly. The menu is clear and concise. There is home-style cooking here. The landlord is attentive and it's easy to have a conversation. Conclusion: if you are in the area, it is a must to stop by. Attention, pay attention to opening times!

A great gem in Lindenthal. The interior resembles a diner, there is a beer garden covered with vines and the whole thing is run by very attentive and friendly innkeepers. The food is always freshly prepared and changes constantly depending on the season. The recommended wild garlic soup was terrific 👍👍. We wish you continued success. Thank you for the fast and courteous service. Our little double birthday party was very happy. The separate room means you can stay to yourself and talk to each other easily. There is probably a larger event room in the adjacent building. But the room in the clubhouse was just right for our 20 guests. Garden club pub, comfortably furnished, a bit American diner style, very pleasant to sit in. We had previously agreed on the dishes on offer. It was all German home cooking, and it was really tasty. We will be happy to book here again when the opportunity arises.

Great tavern! The owners were super friendly, which was great for us - child friendly! A few things to play with for the little one and a few rounds of Mau mau played with the family while the food was being prepared. As for the food itself: super tasty! Definitely as described, it tastes like grandma's delicious food which you can never get as well cooked :D! All in one: I can recommend it to everyone!

Actually, one word is enough: PERFECT! But still a few more words. It was our first time in the Pappelschänke - but definitely not the last time. Because everything was just as you would expect from a traditional restaurant or pub. Incredibly nice staff, incredibly good tasting and freshly prepared food at absolutely fair prices. 👍👍👍

We were also here for the “Martinsgansessen” meal, everyone really enjoyed it. A special thank you: although there was no burger 🍔 on the menu, our grandson got one (he doesn't know what he's missing out on if he doesn't eat a goose), found it so tasty that he wants to go to the Pappelschänke with us more often!!!

Very nice, well-run garden pub. Here you can get good home-style food that is freshly prepared. Even the salad dressing, which is made fresh according to the house recipe, tastes absolutely great. Very clean, absolutely top ambience, very good fresh cuisine, everything freshly prepared and absolutely top. The kitchen deserves great praise. Great host and landlady. The atmosphere is extremely good and clean. Outside under a covered grape arbor, inside super cute, small but you have the feeling you're coming to mothers. This restaurant has an absolute unique selling point in Leipzig that must be preserved. All in all, highly recommended!!! Many thanks to the host Holger. We will come back any time we are in Leipzig. We were there for the first time yesterday. After a bike ride with the kids and friends. I haven't seen anything so idyllic and loving in a long time. Super nice service and a great ambience. We celebrated our bachelor party here at the end of July. The operators of the Pappelschänke were always there to help and advise us and were very friendly and approachable at any time. All of this contributed a lot to making our celebration a success for us :)

We had rented the hall and the preparation and support were very satisfactory. The hall can accommodate up to 80 people. We were around 90 people with children and adults. Partly inside, partly outside. The kitchen is fully equipped and we didn't miss anything. We took care of ourselves. We can recommend it and thank you for the smooth process. Very well maintained outdoor area. The Pappelschänke offers a lot for a great stay such as billiards, table football, etc. It's also easy to find because it's not in the middle of the garden club like most of them, but right in front of it, so even garden owners can't go there
