We drove all the way to Gelsenkirchen because of the Instagram video where everything looked delicious. We regretted it. The kebab is really ordinary, but neither of us felt great afterward. The meat is the best part, but it's not earth-shattering. The rest is just run-of-the-mill bread, salad, and sauces. In Essen, it would be a good Viehoferplatz kebab. The waiters are trained to sell a set menu when a kebab is ordered. But the set menu isn't worth it; it's just a small portion of rice/fries and a drink.

Everything is delicious, especially the doner kebab meat. The service is very friendly. The selection is huge, and there's always a daily special.

I eat here very often. I've also had many plate meals. They were all delicious. I haven't enjoyed the doner kebab plate or the doner meat the last few times, and the prices have increased several times in recent months. The ambiance reflects the surroundings – absolutely not nice and not clean!

I was there yesterday and ordered a kebab, and I will never, ever go to that place again. The unfriendly waitress doesn't speak German and brought me the wrong order, and my friend's kebab was swimming in sauce. I can't recommend that place. I'd rather spend my money at Artuklu in Gelsenkirchen. The meat was dry and there was no seasoning, nothing. So I won't recommend it again and won't send or recommend anyone there.

First, no server came for at least 40 minutes, even to bring us a menu... employees walked past us several times to wipe tables, etc. After asking several times, a menu was finally brought to us. We ordered. Half of it was missing, and it wasn't tasty, and the tzatziki just had some old fries in it. Not again, this place used to be good....

Today, on my way back from the town festival, I ordered a dürum (doughnut), but unfortunately, it had very little meat in it. It was the smallest and most expensive dürum I've ever had or eaten! At least give people something for €9, and don't leave them feeling even more hungry afterward! Unfortunately, it's very disappointing!

Unfortunately, there aren't any more stars to award – it deserves 10! We were in Gelsenkirchen on business and, after a successful meeting, dined at Bizimmangal ("Our Charcoal Grill"). As soon as we entered the restaurant, we were greeted very warmly. The service was attentive, warm, and quick. The chef even served us delicious side dishes for free – a wonderful and very hospitable gesture! We ordered a kebab plate with fries and sauces – what can we say? Simply first-class! The meat was fresh and perfectly seasoned, the fries crispy, and the sauces flavorful. We were all full and happy – and at absolutely fair, affordable prices. A restaurant that we highly recommend. We'll definitely be back!

The food is good. Unfortunately, I have to revise my previous reviews. The food is still okay, I'd say. But the service is absolutely terrible!!! Someone working at the counter who doesn't understand what a large doner kebab is (even though it's called a jumbo here) has no business being behind the counter!!! I'm a foreigner myself, but you have to have at least a basic grasp of the German language!!! My wife asked him three times if it was a large doner kebab he was preparing, to which he always replied "yes, yes." And when he had almost finished everything, after asking him four or five times, he realized he'd made a mistake. Then his colleague came over and replied that the large doner kebab is called a jumbo here. Are you guys still okay?!?!?! Since my wife has a basic grasp of Turkish, she also understood what he said next, and that's absolutely unacceptable and just plain rude and disgusting!!! That's the main point!!! The other side is, okay, everything's getting more expensive and so on and so forth, but a Turkish pizza with meat for €11???? Guys, you're not in Düsseldorf or Cologne. And a large (jumbo) kebab for €14. What's wrong with you guys? You're not a restaurant, you're a snack bar!!!! Anyone who says otherwise here has absolutely no idea about gastronomy!!!

Today: 3 dürüm (adana + 2x chicken) Service: good, nothing to complain about. Prepared quickly. Flavorful, delicious, I really have nothing to complain about. Big negative point: The chicken dürüm legs, absolutely not much meat. They were 5 mini pieces that were cut to size, and salad was more of a main ingredient. The price was all good, but to get such mini chicken is abysmal. The Adana was 10x heavier in comparison. You wouldn't compare an apple with a cherry, but imagine it like this in proportion. 5 cherries than dürüm 🙂‍↕️

An absolutely disappointing visit. I went there today with my wife and children for kebabs – and it was a complete disaster. The meat was dry and tasted like it had been left yesterday. The bread was so hard on the outside that it hurt when I bit into it, and so soft on the inside that it fell apart. The salad was wilted and no longer fresh – that's unacceptable. While we were still eating, the staff started clearing our table. We literally felt like we were being thrown out – completely disrespectful. The value for money is absolutely not right here. For us, it was the first and last time. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place. And I won't recommend it to anyone.

Today we had three dishes: a kofte plate, a gyro plate, and a hunter's schnitzel with fries and salad. We were completely disappointed; I'm used to something different from Bizimmangal. The gyro plate... the meat was dry, the tzatziki and onions were missing, and the salad had no dressing, just like mine, was unseasoned. I just had breakfast for the first time. First nothing comes for a long time, then limp fries and then 15 minutes later a half-hearted plate with 2 slices of cheese and a slice of sausage, a bit of sheep's cheese and packaged spreads. I ordered a kebab and a pizza at 2 a.m. The kebab pleasantly surprised me – for a delivery service, it was really tasty. The bread was crispy, and the chicken was of solid quality. Perfect for a late-night snack! The pizza, however, was unfortunately not convincing. The dough was too soft, the cheese was of inferior quality, and overall, it was more reminiscent of a cheap frozen version. I would definitely advise against this one. One positive thing to note, however, is the quick delivery time of just 20 minutes – a huge plus, especially at such a late hour. Conclusion: I can recommend the kebab, but not the pizza.

Eating there at night is not recommended at all, they give you the leftovers from the day before. I ate there 2 days ago and I still don't feel well. Never again.

“Bizim” is basically the mom from whom you can get something to eat at almost any time of the day. The audience is very mixed and local politics wouldn't work without Bizimmangal. We always enjoy eating there, often in larger groups. Despite the high customer frequency, the store is clean and the food is always delicious. Orders rarely get mixed up, but this is handled very accommodatingly. You can pay by card and if you have forgotten everything, as a known guest you can pay a few days later. Is my absolute favorite restaurant.

We went to Gelsenkirchen from the Netherlands 2 days ago. Came across this place to sit and eat. We had lunch and dinner here. We were 3 people at noon, and 4 of us went in the evening. Their welcome, attention, service, food and prices were very nice and affordable. A nice restaurant. They even offered refreshments. If I lose my way, I will go again. The bread was fresh. The price for a kebab plate with a drink was reasonable at 15eur. Service was quick and nice.

Ordered food there and it was delivered half an hour late. Travel costs were requested and were not described anywhere on the menu. More money was charged for the dishes even though the new menu we were given had different prices??? Rip off!!!

The bread (doner kebab) was always excellent but has now become inedible - it is also heated in the microwave instead of in the contact grill. The meat portions in kebabs have generally become significantly smaller. For the price I just expect a good kebab like before! Bread and meat are the be-all and end-all but this saves a lot. It's a shame for the good reputation the store actually has... Sometimes it's also due to the generational change... The employees are aggressive towards everyone and each other and cannot be nice. Nobody believes that they are forced to be nice. Blonde boss is always stressed and just complains to the employees. You don't do that, it's just chaos.

Definitely try the Iskender kebab and the mixed grill. We are very pleased with it. We won't go anywhere else but this restaurant.
