Kann man nur weiterempfehlen, richtig lecker Bedienung, nett und eine gute Ambiente

Ein hervorragender Ort für einen Besuch. Das Essen ist fantastisch und die Portionen sind groß – das Geld ist es absolut wert. Die Auswahl an Wildfleisch ist sehr gut, alles perfekt zubereitet. Das Personal ist überaus höflich und der Service war exzellent.

Wir sind durch Zufall bei einem Besuch von Verwandten auf den Birkenhof aufmerksam geworden. Bei der Online-Suche nach guten Lokalen in der Nähe von Bad Wünnenberg gesucht, und den Birkenhof gefunden. Die Rezessionen anderer Gäste haben uns aufmerksam werden lassen. An dieser Stelle eine kleine Entschuldigung ans Personal, das wir mit unserer "leicht verspäteten" Bestellung wohl im normalen Tagesablauf aufgehalten haben... 😇😇😇 Und die Mannschaft dort ist echt freundlich!!!!! Zuvorkommend und auch für einen schnellen Spruch zu haben. Echt SUPER. Die Gerichte sind auch sehr vielfältig, Schwein, Rind und ganz besonders Wild wird angeboten. Ebenfalls SUPER! Die Portionen sprengen den Rahmen etwas..... 😆 Für sehr moderate Preise (gemessen am Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!!!) bekommt man wirklich sehr große Teller, die aber auch wirklich gut gefüllt sind. Man muss schon Hunger mitbringen! Die Einrichtung ist ländlich geprägt, mit viel rustikalen Holzelementen ausgestattet, mit reichlich Geweihen gespickt und dem Standort entsprechend angenehm und sauber. Alles in allem ist mir der Birkenhof eine Empfehlung wert. Sollte es uns wieder zur Verwandtschaft ziehen, kommen wir gerne wieder!

Wir ernähren uns vegetarisch und wollten einfach nur ganz klassisch und traditionell "Kartoffeln mit spargel und sauce Hollandaise". Alles gab es auf der Karte. Man wollte es uns nur mit dem Schnitzel verkaufen. Wir sind also wieder gegangen. Die Bedienung war dagegen sehr freundlich.

Top Essen Top Service Besser geht nicht

Eines der besten Restaurants, in denen ich je war. Wir haben nicht mal 10 min auf das Essen gewartet. Auf der Speisekarte stehen viele Gerichte. Für jeden was dabei. Der Preis ist wirklich angemessen. Die Portionen schon fast zu üppig. Die Teller sind mit sehr viel Liebe zum Detail angerichtet. Wir sind über eine Stunde hierhin gefahren zum Essen und das war es absolut wert. Vielen Dank für das leckere Essen.

Kurz und knapp: Wie immer super!

Das Ambiente ist etwas altmodisch, aber es ist sauber und ordentlich. Die Bedienung war höflich und freundlich. Das Essen war leider nicht so gut. Ich hatte das Schlemmerschnitzel. Die hausgemachten Kroketten waren lecker. Das Schnitzel war schon etwas matschig mit wenig Geschmack. Die Champions waren auch etwas zerkocht und der Spargel kaum zu schneiden. Der Salat war allerdings auch ganz okay. Die Medallions von meiner Frau habe ich mal probiert, die waren kurz vor "Schuhsohle". Die anderen Gäste unsere größeren Runde waren leider auch nicht zufrieden, sonder eher enttäuscht. Schade. Ein nächstes Mal kommt für uns leider nicht mehr in Frage, da wir vor ein paar Jahren eine ähnliche (nicht ganz so schlechte) Erfahrung gemacht haben. Die zweite Chance wurde leider nicht genutzt.

Durch Schwiegereltern auf dieses Restaurant aufmerksam gemacht geworden. Ohne Reservierung wird es schwer, hier einen Platz zu bekommen. Zu zwei Zeiten kann hier mittags gegessen werden. Das Ambiente ist altbacken und ziemlich ungemütlich. Tote Tiere und Hörner hängen an den Wänden - nicht mein Geschmack. Der Service war sehr nett und zuvorkommend! Alle waren freundlich und auskunftsfreudig. Das Essen kam zügig zu uns und war sehr lecker! Sie hausgemachten Kroketten waren MEGALECKER!! Ein Austausch von dem Wildschnitzel zu einem Schweineschnitzel war kein Problem (Wild ist so gar nicht mein Geschmack). Außerdem werden auch "Seniorenportionen" angeboten zu einem etwas günstigeren Preis. Ich bin / war begeistert und werde sicher wiederkommen!

Das Schweinefilet war kaum genießbar – total trocken. Der Rest war eher durchschnittlich. Die Portionen waren ausreichend groß.

Wir waren gestern mit sechs Personen im Birkenhof essen und leider sehr enttäuscht. Auf unsere Hauptspeisen mussten wir ganze 1 Stunde und 13 Minuten warten – das ist für ein Restaurant dieser Klasse einfach zu lang. Das Schweinelendchen war leider sehr trocken, die Schnitzel nicht ganz durchgegart, und bei einer Speise wurde sogar die Beilage vergessen. Für ein Haus, das wir bisher immer mit guter Qualität verbunden haben, ist das wirklich schade und wirkt, als hätte die Küche stark nachgelassen. Wir hoffen sehr, dass das nur ein Ausrutscher war, denn bisher waren wir immer gern hier.

Wer gerne Wild speist hat sein Ziel hier erreicht! Absolut empfehlenswert! Super leckere Wild-Gerichte zu fairen Preisen. Hier kommen wir gerne wieder. Ein echter Geheimtip im Kreis Paderborn!

Wenn man mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs ist, kann man hier eine kleine Pause machen. Das Essen ist sehr reichlich und schmeckt.

Simply delicious food and exceptionally friendly service

The food here is a matter of luck. Sometimes it's fantastic, sometimes it's completely dry and bland (unfortunately the game has been particularly good lately). But since it's usually good, we come here a few times a year. I'm writing a review now because I've noticed more and more how unfriendly the waiters here are. Furthermore, it's really outrageous that there's only one bill per table. That's not even legal; everyone enters into an individual verbal purchase contract. Actually, you could insist on separate bills. I understand that it's annoying when four people all want to pay separately, but for groups of more than 6-8 people, it just gets a bit much if only one person has to pay. I hope that this will change soon and that the quality of the meat - especially the game - returns to what it's used to.

Was here again today to eat. As always, game was very good. But steak never again. Very tough. Unfortunately, the chef couldn't deal with the criticism. He said the meat has to be like that. But it didn't work at all. But you also have to be able to deal with criticism.

I asked politely about a location for a funeral and was greeted with an annoyed groan. Unfortunately no empathy or politeness at all! It would have been totally okay that there was no space for the request - the way it was handled was outrageous! In the past we regularly enjoyed good food - now it has spoiled our appetite!

We were there on Friday. It was mega, the portions were plentiful and super tasty. There were 9 of us and we had a little bit of everything. Everything is super tasty, fresh and something to look at. So everything prepared with love! Service was also very nice and tried very hard to ensure that everything was there. So I'll definitely be back and can recommend it 100%!

If you like eating game (meat), this is the right place for you. Richly filled plates with high quality products. There is also a large selection for visitors who don't like eating game. A very cozy atmosphere with extremely friendly hospitality.

We've been there twice for dinner with the whole family. We always enjoyed it very much and there was nothing wrong with the service either. We can fully recommend the Birkenhof!

The menu offers a wonderful selection of dishes that are both creative and delicious. I chose venison ragout as my main course. Not only did it taste excellent, but it was also lovingly prepared. The flavors harmonized perfectly with each other and you could immediately tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used here. The Birkenhof is an absolute insider tip for spoiled palates.

Were there on a Sunday evening because there was no other appointment for 7 people due to a lack of staff. Rump steak was good, the 3 plates with 3 different game steaks were also ok. The game sauce and the homemade croquettes were good and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately the two portions with 3 different pieces of venison were only warm and very tough. I remember that better. At 9 p.m. the invoice was asked because the staff wanted to get off work because the normal weekly working day in the main company was on Monday. We understood that because, with pubs and restaurants dying out in the countryside, you can be happy if you can still find good restaurants.

Were there relatively spontaneously. Even though it was fully booked, we were offered a place in the hall. The service was very friendly but the real star of this inn is the food. We had game sausages and Wiener schnitzel, both really outstanding. Rarely eaten so well. A big plus was the very fair prices.

I'm happy to give a full 5 stars for everything here. The cozy atmosphere with candles and loving arrangements were convincing across the board. Fresh flowers in the vase and fresh rosemary on the tables gave the excellent food in this cozy country inn an unforgettable setting. My salad with me Chicory, lamb's lettuce and, among other things, blueberries, corn, turkey breast, cucumber and melon as well as the homemade potato pockets filled with cheese and a delicious salad dressing, light and unsurpassably good.. Plus the scenic location in a mountainous area... simply great!! Thanks to the entire team for the lovely stay..!!!

Top address for game meat! I've been there several times now, and so far I've only eaten the Waldmelodie dish. I'm not actually a classic game eater, but here you become one. The homemade croquettes are exceptional. Great quality at reasonable prices. Service was great and courteous every time. The ambience is correspondingly rustic, but with modern influences and beautiful decoration.

Rural inn with a cuisine specializing in game. A rich menu, dishes at a great price-performance ratio. Staff friendly and competent. It is advisable to book the appointment in advance as it is only open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We would be happy to visit again when the opportunity arises.

The food at the Birkenhof was very tasty and the plates were beautifully and variedly prepared. We had a mixed salad with schnitzel. The service was very friendly. What we didn't like at all was the very old-fashioned atmosphere. A modern makeover would do the store some good. For me personally, dolls on cupboards have something sleazy/creepy about them. We also didn’t fully understand why you absolutely have to make a reservation. The hall and adjacent dining room are huge and haven't been fully occupied for a long time, so free choice of seating would be great.

Hallo ich möchte mal kurz über meinen letzten Besuch im Birkenhof berichten. Also ich sitze im Rollstuhl, hatte aber keine Probleme ins Restaurant und zum Tisch zu kommen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Essen war lecker und schon reichhaltig, was mich nur persönlich (aber es ist hier wohl normal) das es zu verschiedenen Gerichten einen Salt (beistell Salat) gibt nur das man gerade anfängt den Salt zu essen, kommt schon der Hauptgang, schön wäre es wenn man wenigstens den Salt erst essen kann! Aber hier ist das wohl normal, wie auch die Kellnerin mir sagte( wir sind von der schnellen Sorte) Wie gesagt kenne ich nicht so und finde ich auch nicht schön, bin ja auch nicht auf der Flucht! Ach, eins noch Toiletten sind groß genug das ich auch mit dem Rollstuhl rein komme oder auch andere Gäste mit Rollator aber ein Behinderten gerechtes WC gibt es nicht. Ansonsten ein schönes auf altes Restaurant!

War sehr schön hier... Das Essen war sehr lecker und wir sind richtig satt geworden.

Wir waren gestern mit zwei kleinen Kindern zu Abend dort. War das ein Genuß! Das Wild war köstlich, die Soße (ich bin totaler Soßenfan) sämig mit toller Konsistenz, super angesetzt, ohne Wasserausbildung, selbst kalt eine ,Festigkeit, die klar die arbeitsintensive Anfertigung zeigt, herausragend abgeschmeckt. Die Kroketten trafen voll meine Geschmacksnerven. Das Essen war „ Sonntag Mittagessen“, ein Fest eben. Das besondere (Ältere werden verstehen , was ich meine). Man muss heute lange suchen, um so eine Küche tut finden. Liebe Servicedamen, danke für Ihre Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Mein Sonderwunsch wurde einfach so umgesetzt. Und meine lebhaften Kinder sowie die angemalte Tischdecke waren kein Problem. Wie war die Stimmung? Essen und Drumherum klasse, also war meine Frau in guter Stimmung, weil sie, meine Kinder auch, weil die auch, ich auch. Was kann man sich mehr wünschen? Der Ein-Sterne-Fraktion sei empfohlen, sich darüber mal Gedanken zu machen, ob eine solche Beurteilung durch falsche Wahrnehmung entsteht. Es wird traditionell gekocht, von eindeutig sehr gutem Koch, der handwerklich und produktbezogen richtig was drauf hat . Liebes Team, ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch und die damit verbundene Auszeit. Ich hätte noch zig Worte, aber das wird dann zu lang. Gäbe es doch mehr Sterne! 11 wären angemessen. Ich/ wir danken herzlich.

Ländliches Restaurant mit hervorragender gut bürgerlichen Küche und Wild Spezialitäten. Der Service ist immer nett, es geht immer schnell (auch wenn es recht voll ist) und sehr gut geschmeckt hat es auch immer!!! Ich komme immer wieder gerne hierher.
