A real highlight for game lovers! The service is first class, the staff friendly and attentive. The toilets are very clean, which is a sign of the overall hygiene of the restaurant. The price-performance ratio is excellent - the quality of the food justifies every euro. In addition, the restaurant is located in a quiet environment in the middle of nature, which creates a relaxed atmosphere and perfectly rounds off the culinary experience. The view of the landscape makes the meal even more enjoyable. A must for anyone who appreciates good food, a cozy location and the beauty of nature!

Was here again today to eat. As always, game was very good. But steak never again. Very tough. Unfortunately, the chef couldn't deal with the criticism. He said the meat has to be like that. But it didn't work at all. But you also have to be able to deal with criticism.

I asked politely about a location for a funeral and was greeted with an annoyed groan. Unfortunately no empathy or politeness at all! It would have been totally okay that there was no space for the request - the way it was handled was outrageous! In the past we regularly enjoyed good food - now it has spoiled our appetite!

We were there on Friday. It was mega, the portions were plentiful and super tasty. There were 9 of us and we had a little bit of everything. Everything is super tasty, fresh and something to look at. So everything prepared with love! Service was also very nice and tried very hard to ensure that everything was there. So I'll definitely be back and can recommend it 100%!

Freshly prepared dishes, especially game dishes. The portions are comparatively generous. So feel free to ask for a smaller portion. Despite the general lack of staff, very friendly, attentive staff. The charm of the nostalgic ambience also has something to offer. Due to the limited kitchen hours, it is recommended to reserve a seat by telephone. Highly recommended!!

If you like eating game (meat), this is the right place for you. Richly filled plates with high quality products. There is also a large selection for visitors who don't like eating game. A very cozy atmosphere with extremely friendly hospitality.

We've been there twice for dinner with the whole family. We always enjoyed it very much and there was nothing wrong with the service either. We can fully recommend the Birkenhof!

The menu offers a wonderful selection of dishes that are both creative and delicious. I chose venison ragout as my main course. Not only did it taste excellent, but it was also lovingly prepared. The flavors harmonized perfectly with each other and you could immediately tell that fresh, high-quality ingredients were used here. The Birkenhof is an absolute insider tip for spoiled palates.

Were there on a Sunday evening because there was no other appointment for 7 people due to a lack of staff. Rump steak was good, the 3 plates with 3 different game steaks were also ok. The game sauce and the homemade croquettes were good and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately the two portions with 3 different pieces of venison were only warm and very tough. I remember that better. At 9 p.m. the invoice was asked because the staff wanted to get off work because the normal weekly working day in the main company was on Monday. We understood that because, with pubs and restaurants dying out in the countryside, you can be happy if you can still find good restaurants.

Were there relatively spontaneously. Even though it was fully booked, we were offered a place in the hall. The service was very friendly but the real star of this inn is the food. We had game sausages and Wiener schnitzel, both really outstanding. Rarely eaten so well. A big plus was the very fair prices.

Regular customer for 22 years. Special detour from Italy... arrived at 6:57 PM (due to traffic jam) but the owner was unrelenting: no possibility of exception, kitchen closes at 7:00 PM! I'm happy to give a full 5 stars for everything here. The cozy atmosphere with candles and loving arrangements were convincing across the board. Fresh flowers in the vase and fresh rosemary on the tables gave the excellent food in this cozy country inn an unforgettable setting. My salad with me Chicory, lamb's lettuce and, among other things, blueberries, corn, turkey breast, cucumber and melon as well as the homemade potato pockets filled with cheese and a delicious salad dressing, light and unsurpassably good.. Plus the scenic location in a mountainous area... simply great!! Thanks to the entire team for the lovely stay..!!!

Top address for game meat! I've been there several times now, and so far I've only eaten the Waldmelodie dish. I'm not actually a classic game eater, but here you become one. The homemade croquettes are exceptional. Great quality at reasonable prices. Service was great and courteous every time. The ambience is correspondingly rustic, but with modern influences and beautiful decoration.

Rural inn with a cuisine specializing in game. A rich menu, dishes at a great price-performance ratio. Staff friendly and competent. It is advisable to book the appointment in advance as it is only open on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We would be happy to visit again when the opportunity arises.

A unique location, beautiful outdoor area, especially when you're cycling to take a break. The dishes on offer are highly recommended; anyone who likes game is in good hands there. But this also applies to the other dishes.

The food at the Birkenhof was very tasty and the plates were beautifully and variedly prepared. We had a mixed salad with schnitzel. The service was very friendly. What we didn't like at all was the very old-fashioned atmosphere. A modern makeover would do the store some good. For me personally, dolls on cupboards have something sleazy/creepy about them. We also didn’t fully understand why you absolutely have to make a reservation. The hall and adjacent dining room are huge and haven't been fully occupied for a long time, so free choice of seating would be great.

Hallo ich möchte mal kurz über meinen letzten Besuch im Birkenhof berichten. Also ich sitze im Rollstuhl, hatte aber keine Probleme ins Restaurant und zum Tisch zu kommen. Die Bedienung war sehr nett und aufmerksam. Essen war lecker und schon reichhaltig, was mich nur persönlich (aber es ist hier wohl normal) das es zu verschiedenen Gerichten einen Salt (beistell Salat) gibt nur das man gerade anfängt den Salt zu essen, kommt schon der Hauptgang, schön wäre es wenn man wenigstens den Salt erst essen kann! Aber hier ist das wohl normal, wie auch die Kellnerin mir sagte( wir sind von der schnellen Sorte) Wie gesagt kenne ich nicht so und finde ich auch nicht schön, bin ja auch nicht auf der Flucht! Ach, eins noch Toiletten sind groß genug das ich auch mit dem Rollstuhl rein komme oder auch andere Gäste mit Rollator aber ein Behinderten gerechtes WC gibt es nicht. Ansonsten ein schönes auf altes Restaurant!

War sehr schön hier... Das Essen war sehr lecker und wir sind richtig satt geworden.

Wir waren gestern mit zwei kleinen Kindern zu Abend dort. War das ein Genuß! Das Wild war köstlich, die Soße (ich bin totaler Soßenfan) sämig mit toller Konsistenz, super angesetzt, ohne Wasserausbildung, selbst kalt eine ,Festigkeit, die klar die arbeitsintensive Anfertigung zeigt, herausragend abgeschmeckt. Die Kroketten trafen voll meine Geschmacksnerven. Das Essen war „ Sonntag Mittagessen“, ein Fest eben. Das besondere (Ältere werden verstehen , was ich meine). Man muss heute lange suchen, um so eine Küche tut finden. Liebe Servicedamen, danke für Ihre Freundlichkeit und Aufmerksamkeit. Mein Sonderwunsch wurde einfach so umgesetzt. Und meine lebhaften Kinder sowie die angemalte Tischdecke waren kein Problem. Wie war die Stimmung? Essen und Drumherum klasse, also war meine Frau in guter Stimmung, weil sie, meine Kinder auch, weil die auch, ich auch. Was kann man sich mehr wünschen? Der Ein-Sterne-Fraktion sei empfohlen, sich darüber mal Gedanken zu machen, ob eine solche Beurteilung durch falsche Wahrnehmung entsteht. Es wird traditionell gekocht, von eindeutig sehr gutem Koch, der handwerklich und produktbezogen richtig was drauf hat . Liebes Team, ich freue mich schon auf meinen nächsten Besuch und die damit verbundene Auszeit. Ich hätte noch zig Worte, aber das wird dann zu lang. Gäbe es doch mehr Sterne! 11 wären angemessen. Ich/ wir danken herzlich.

Wild und auch andere Gerichte sehr lecker. Abends könnten die Öffnungszeiten gerade Samstag oder Sonntags länger sein.

Ländliches Restaurant mit hervorragender gut bürgerlichen Küche und Wild Spezialitäten. Der Service ist immer nett, es geht immer schnell (auch wenn es recht voll ist) und sehr gut geschmeckt hat es auch immer!!! Ich komme immer wieder gerne hierher.
