Bestial in Oldenburg (Oldb)

Unfortunately, the Bestial is definitely no longer what it used to be, which is a real shame. I had almost forgotten my impression from my last visit there, but when we stopped by yesterday the memory flared up again. Only this time I was even less satisfied. It was still quite empty and didn't look like there were too few service staff. Nevertheless, we tried in vain for 20 minutes to get a waiter's attention and so we were left stranded for almost half an hour during our very long wait for the main course. Doubly annoying because our order for the main course was lost in the kitchen and had to be requested again there. So in the end after 2 hours we didn't even have time for an espresso because we had a follow-up appointment. The edge of the main course pizza was dark brown! Also black in some places, the dough base was also black in many places, I can't even get that on a ready-made pizza. The taste experience was correspondingly disappointing. Unfortunately, my stomach wasn't doing well either. Annoying. We also found the decoration careless with LED tea lights. Unfortunately, placemats in Bestial now seem to be overrated, as are the little greetings from the kitchen that always used to be available. Conclusion: For such a disappointing evening, almost 100 euros for 2 people is simply not a good value for money for the guest, so we will not be coming back. By the way, I already gave exactly this feedback to the waitress in the restaurant.

The Bestial is perfectly located if you want to go to the Oldeburg State Theater after a good meal. Here you sit comfortably in a stylishly designed environment, receive very attentive and friendly service and are served delicious and original dishes. We've been to Bestial three times now and are sure it won't be our last visit.

Unfortunately, the restaurant seems to lack the professionalism to respond to reservations in a timely manner. A booking made over a month ago will be canceled two days before its appointment because the restaurant is closed.

We had a Christmas party here, but unfortunately something went wrong. We weren't able to take our place until much too late, so we had to wait outside for a long time. The food came far too late and the starter was far too few for the number of people. After ordering, drinks came too late or not at all. Cocktail orders were rudely rejected by the head waiter because we don't have anything on the menu today and we don't have enough staff. Not okay for a location like this in this price range. Maybe it was just a stressful time but it was disappointing that evening, even though we paid a lot of money here.

We ordered pizza from Bestial for dinner and had it delivered via Uber Eats. Unfortunately, the pizza arrived almost cold, which of course the restaurant can't do anything about. But a good pizza also tastes good cold. And there lies the problem. Unfortunately it wasn't a good pizza. Little taste and the base had nothing to do with real pizza dough. It's better to order from any pizza delivery service in Oldenburg.

We reserved online and got a really great table. Service: our man of the hour. Super nice. Food also delicious. Good mood. The evening was a lot of fun. The white wine spritzer has to be highlighted: it's not just mush but has taste.

Super nice, always try to offer something special and like to come up with more special cocktails. All steaks and most other things are great, don't eat the burger.

The food was - as always - excellent + the service made us feel welcome, unobtrusive, competent and still always there.

Wir sind mit Freunden an einem frühen Sonntagabend zum Abendessen gegangen. Das Ambiente ist wirklich schön. Die Servicekräfte waren jung und sehr nett aber leider nicht wirklich geschult. Obwohl wenig los war kam das Essen nicht gleichzeitig und es gab immer wieder längere Wartezeiten. Das Essen war bezogen auf Qualität und Menge okay aber deutlich überteuert. Was uns jedoch wirklich geärgert hat war die Tatsache, dass das bestellte Wasser (eine große Flasche still, eine große Flasche mit Sprudel) erst auf Nachfrage als Leitungswasser "deklariert" wurde (Keine Info auf der Karte). Ich liebe das Oldenburger Leitungswasser, und ich finde es sehr gut, dass ein Restaurantbesitzer nachhaltig denkend Leitungswasser anbietet, statt viele Flaschen Wasser von irgendwoher zu beziehen. Dass aber dieses Leitungswasser 0,75l am Ende mit 6,90€ pro Flasche auf der Rechnung erscheint... das hat uns dann doch irritiert. Wir werden hier nicht mehr essen gehen.

Vielleicht hatten wir einfach nur Pech. Wir hatten 2x Thunfisch und für das Kind Rind mit Stampf bestellt. Der Kartoffelstampf kam leider bereits kalt an den Tisch und musste zurück. Der 2. Versuch war dann tiptop. Die beiden Thunfischfilets waren geschmacklich ausgezeichnet, kaum aus dem Restaurant fingen jedoch die Beschwerden an. Zuerst nur bei mir, später auch bei meinem Mann. Wie auf Knopfdruck bekam ich starke Kopfschmerzen. Beide hatten massive Hautausschläge am ganzen Körper und Durchfall. Zum Glück hatten wir Antihistamin-Tabletten dabei, was Schlimmeres vermied. Wir beiden haben sonst keine Fischallergien o.ä. Da muss was mit der Kühlkette nicht in Ordnung sein. Der kleine Beilagensalat bzw. der Blattspinat für je € 4.50 fanden wir für die kleine Portion viel zu teuer.

We had dinner there with friends. The staff was super friendly and the space on the terrace was great on this warm evening. We shared delicious tarte flambée as a starter. However, my main course was pasta a la gorgonzola, unfortunately the worst pasta dish I have ever eaten at this price level. I'm really sorry, especially because the evening was so nice, but how you can make such a simple dish so pickled is a mystery to me. This is my 2nd recession in 20 years. I don't like doing this at all, but today the harsh criticism had to come out. sorry

It was definitely something special! The food was super tasty and there were great creations. I would have been happy about one or two vegan options. The dishes were very nicely prepared!! The service was also good, but at the end we had to wait a relatively long time to be able to pay, which is why I imagine that would be difficult for a visit before going to the theater. Overall, it's definitely a great restaurant with home-made pasta that's impressive!

On Saturday evening at 10:30 p.m. after the theater performance, the small menu with tarte flambée and other dishes was available. Thank you very much for that and for the good service!

Six of us had dinner at Bestial and we all left the restaurant with a very positive experience. The quality and taste of the food is really very good. The portion sizes are also sufficient and the selection of dishes is also great. Every dish came to the table really well warm or even hot! The service/waiters were also super attentive and quick. There were one or two moments when we had to wait a while for drinks, but the restaurant was also busy and the service staff were busy accordingly. The ambience is also very pleasant, the kitchen is somewhat visible and overall the rooms are very open. We were able to talk there for several hours without any problems and enjoy the evening. This speaks for both the seating and the ambience and mood there. 😇 Overall it was a successful evening, it's not particularly cheap... but where else is...

This could potentially be disappointing for some guests, especially considering the price. More generous portioning could improve the overall experience. Another point that marred my experience was the timing challenge between courses. The main course was served way too soon after the starter, so we couldn't even fully enjoy the starter before the next meal arrived. This aspect could be improved by better coordination of serving times to optimize the enjoyment of each course. Regarding service, I would like to point out that during my visit there was a less than pleasant dynamic between the waiters. It seemed like the staff, particularly the head waiter, were criticizing each other in my presence, adding to an unpleasant atmosphere. The public disagreement between the employees (head-waiter) affected my overall experience and did not help me feel particularly comfortable as a guest. Professional and harmonious collaboration among staff is crucial to creating a positive atmosphere in the restaurant. Despite the high quality food and attractive decoration, it would be desirable for the team to work behind the scenes on improved team communication to ensure that guests enjoy a completely pleasant and hassle-free dining experience. Despite these criticisms, I have to emphasize that the taste of the food was quite convincing. The kitchen delivers high quality dishes that delight the palate. Overall, Bestial offers a solid dining experience, although it could be improved with some adjustments in portioning and serving time.

We must have had a bad day there. The tuna was way too well done and the mini portion of vegetables ordered with it was cold. Overall, the size of the main course was probably suitable for a 6-course menu. For the second main course at the table, the beetroot mash was cold and was then quickly warmed up, probably in the microwave. Too bad, that was our first and last visit.

It was our first time at Bestial and we reserved a table online about 60 minutes in advance. We were then told on site that this was unfortunately a system error and that there was no space available for us...then why such a good rating? Because a solution was sought!!! There were only two seats occupied at a table for six and we were allowed and wanted to sit down and were naturally greeted with a Prosecco on the house "as an apology". In other restaurants I get the impression that I have to apologize because I'm causing trouble :[ There was a lively conversation with the people sitting next to us, the atmosphere was very good, the food was fantastic (in terms of taste and appearance!!!) and the service was attentive and friendly. We will definitely come back again!!!!!

Ich kann es leider nicht empfehlen. Wir waren mit einer größeren Gruppe vor Ort. Hatten für 18 Uhr reserviert, leider erst gegen 19:30 unser Essen bekommen. Die Preise sind im Vergleich zu den Bildern hier nochmal angestiegen, so dass ich einen Salat für über 20 Euro doch ziemlich teuer finde. Und ehrlich gesagt hat er nicht besonders geschmeckt. Auch die anderen in der Gruppe meinten dass das Essen "ok" wäre. Die große Überraschung kam dann aber als um 20:28 die Kellnerin zu uns kam und meinte sie bräuchte jetzt den Großteil unserer Tische, da sie um halb 9 die nächste Gruppe hätten und die würden wohl schon am der Bar warten. Uns wurde dann Stress gemacht uns in eine Ecke zu verziehen. Wir haben uns gefragt warum wir 10 Minuten vorher noch nach einer weiteren Getränkebestellung gefragt wurden. An dieser Stelle wäre eine vorherige klare Kommunikation wichtig gewesen und wenn man Mal etwas durcheinander bringt, dann zumindest eine Entschuldigung/Entschädigung... Das Restaurant versucht gehoben zu wirken, passt die Preise dementsprechend an, das Essen ist aber leider gar nicht dementsprechend und das Ambiente viel zu voll und laut.

Reservierter Tisch war nicht frei und wir mussten 30 Minuten warten, haben Getränke bestellt und es hat 45 Minuten gedauert 3 Weingläser zu bringen und eine Flasche aufzumachen, Kellner hat gesagt er muss was essen und generell sah es so aus als wäre zu wenig Personal verfügbar. Essen war gut, wird aber leider von der mangelnden Dienstleistung überschattet. Schade eigentlich

Sehr schönes Ambiente bei unserem Besuch, preis Leistung ist sehr gut, Kellner sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend, Empfehlungen passend und sehr gut. Vom Preis her kann man mit etwa 50€ pro Person rechnen was aber gerechtfertigt ist. All in all war alles sehr gut 👍

Ein schickes Lokal mit mal einer etwas anderen Auswahl an Speisen. Das was ich bisher dort gegessen habe war sehr sehr lecker. Freundliches Personal

Wir waren mit Freunden hier. Das Essen war gut und lecker. Unser Carpaccio war allerdings noch recht gefroren. Getränke waren auch fein. Der Service war sehr bemüht und total nett aber etwas überfordert mit der Anzahl der Gäste an diesem Abend. Wir haben uns aber dennoch gut betreut gefühlt. Was uns wirklich gestört hat, ist, das man durch den Raucherbereich an der Bar im Restaurant Qualmgeruch ertragen muss. Uns hat es sehr gestört und wir finden es nicht mehr zeitgemäß. Das ist für uns ein Grund, dieses Restaurant künftig zu meiden.

Alles gut und lecker und insgesamt eine wirklich schöne Erfahrung. Ana hatte die Pasta mit Gambas in einer Kürbis-Orangen-Sauce und ich hatte einen wirklich sehr leckeren Salat mit gebratenem Thunfisch in Teriaki-Sauce, wobei es für mich etwas weniger Teriaki sein könnte, aber das ist Geschmackssache und insofern gibt es absolut nichts zu meckern. Nächste oder übernächste Woche probieren wir dann das Bestial in Bremen zum Vergleich, aber ich kann mir eigentlich nicht vorstellen, dass es schlechter ist als das in Oldenburg.

Ich gehe immer wieder gerne dort essen. Die Auswahl ist besonders, und der Service ist aufmerksam und nett.

Tolle Location um vor der Theateraufführung noch etwas essen zu gehen. Zwar sehr voll, aber dafür wirklich leckeres Essen, bemühter Service und ein gemütliches Ambiente

Getränke, die in der Karte standen, wurden nicht angeboten. Statt des bestellten alkoholfreien Cocktails wurde erst ein alkoholischer Cocktail serviert bzw. beim Servieren zum Teil auf mich verschüttet. Das Essen war gut und lecker, aber nicht überragend. Der Fenchel im Fenchel-Orangen-Salat war zwar lecker mariniert aber leider zäh. Die Bedienung musste trotz Notizen zu den simplen Bestellungen Nachfragen anstellen. Insgesamt ist das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis nicht ausgewogen. Für die geforderten Preise erwarte ich besseren Service.

Wir hatten uns auf einen schönen Abend gefreut und wurden leider ein wenig enttäuscht. Der Service war aufmerksam und sehr freundlich, zum Dessert hin ein wenig durcheinander. Das Essen war gut und nett angerichtet. Leider war es ziemlich dunkel, so dass wir die Kerze zum Lesen der Karte am Tisch verschoben mussten und außerdem sehr kalt - zu kalt um ein schönes Essen genießen zu können. Alles in allem war die Rechnung zu hoch für das Ambiente.

Das Essen war sehr gut, das Ambiente draußen stimmungsvoll - sogar bei Regen unter der Überdachung. Der gute Service von Misafir trug zu einem gelungenen Abend bei.

Wir waren heute zum ersten mal hier essen und saßen draußen auf der Terasse. Abgesehen davon, dass die Abdeckung für den Keller leider schon seehr abgenutzt aussieht war das Ambiente schön - allerdings sehr laut. Die Stufen innen, könnten einen neuen Anstrich vertragen. Der Service war im gesamten gut, die Kellerin vorallem war sehr bemüht und freundlich. Leider mussten wir laange ( über 15min ) auf unsere Rechnung warten und das obwohl der Laden nicht übermäßig voll war. Im generellen haben alle Serviceleistungen lange gedauert. Das Essen war leider überhaupt nicht unser Geschmack. Das Kalbsschnitzel mit Kräutersoße ist inordnung, die Nudeln Gorgonzola waren leider absolut versalzen. Es war nicht möglich, diese zu genießen weshalb die Hälfte leider auch wieder zurück gegangen ist.😕 Das Messer welches wir hatten, war leider von Wasserflecken übersät. Im großen und ganzen finden wir das, dass Preis-Leisungs Verhältnis nicht stimmt.

Das Essen ist geschmacklich leider nicht mein Fall. Ebenso waren die Nudeln zum Teil schon verkocht gewesen. Der Service war bemüht und zum Teil sehr nett. Eine dunkelhaarige Kellnerin ging leider gar nicht. Das Ambiente ist ganz schön, aber so nett, wie eine Kellnerin auch gewesen ist, hat mich das Essen und der gesamte Service nicht beeindruckt.

Auf dem Stadtfest gab es einen Stand vom bestial beim Schloss. Ganz hervorragend und günstig gegessen. Roastbeef mit schöner Soße, die geschmackvoll und dennoch zurückhaltend war, nicht den Fleischgeschmack verdrängte. Ebenso Fisch und Burger waren super!

Preis Leistung OK. Bisschen zu viele boomer schnösel vor Ort. Desshalb Ambiente nur 3 Sterne. 🙃

Jeden Freitag freue ich mich auf die beste Mittagspause der Woche. Einfach immer wieder rundum eine hervorragende Bedienung und das Essen ist immer ein Genuss!

Vielen Dank an Joost für den unfassbar aufmerksamen Service, den wir am vorigen Samstag sowohl vor wie auch nach der Oper genießen durften. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Danke! Ihr habt zu einem tollen Abend beigetragen.

Schicken Restaurant mit guter Küche und wohl schmeckenden Weinen. Etwas Zeit sollte man mitbringen.

Ich muss leider sagen, dass uns das Essen und der allgemeine Umgang überhaupt nicht gefallen hat. Ein kleines Lob noch an die Bedienung, die zumindest probiert hat, den Abend einigermaßen zu retten. Anlässlich meines Geburtstags hatten wir am gestrigen Abend einen Platz im Außenbereich eingenommen und von der "Gourmetkarte" bestellt. Aperitiv ging in Ordnung, daher kein Vorwurf an die Bar. Bestellt wurde anschließend die Pinsa mit grünem Spargel und Räucherlachs. Als wir diese erhielten, fiel uns der fehlende Spargel auf. Dieser wurde uns dann nach der Reklamation, 10 Minuten später in einer kleinen Schüssel nachgereicht. Die Pinsa war zu diesem Zeitpunkt natürlich bereits fast aufgegessen. Dann erhielten wir die Summerrolls von der Gpurmeitkarte und dies schlug dem Fass eigentlich dem Boden aus. Das Produkt hatte mit einer Summerroll absolut nichts gemein. Vielmehr handelte es sich um schräg aufgeschnittene und geschmackvoll drapierte Frühlingsrollen aus dem Discounter (und das ist keine Überspitzung, jeder kennt sie aus dem Aldi) mit wabbeligem Fertiggemüse innen (das schafft nicht mal ein 5,-€ Chinese). Das die als Beilage georderten Süsskartoffelpommes dann als normale Fritten an den Tisch kamen, will ich schon fast gar nicht mehr erwähnen. Sorry, dass kann und darf nicht Euer Anspruch sein und wir persönlich empfanden dies als Frechheit. Der Service war ok, nicht mehr und nicht weniger. Von der Küche fühlten wir uns für dumm verkauft.
