Exceptionally friendly, even though the man (owner, employee?) was alone at the counter, calm and collected. You rarely experience that... I didn't order anything to eat as I didn't have time. The ambiance is perfectly adequate...

My cake was sensational, and the view was beautiful too! The owner can't be held responsible for the ambiance, but it's definitely worth a visit.

Super friendly staff, delicious coffee and cake, and very dog-friendly. With a sign at the entrance saying all dogs are welcome and a treat for each dog.

A service disaster. Even if they're sold out of all the food, to then snap at and lecture the guests shows a complete lack of understanding of their customers. The service robot is the friendliest of them. Outside the building, there's a place with great food and very friendly staff. We didn't sit in your establishment, we didn't time anything, and we weren't insulted in any way. You've unfortunately mistaken us for someone else. Instead of responding so extensively and incorrectly to reviews, you should take the time to reflect and consider what you could do better for other customers. But perhaps you were just having a bad day – it happens. Because it simply shows how overwhelmed you are with running your café and that you can't handle criticism. __________ Wow, I just saw that there was another reply. Unfortunately, it fits with the overall impression, both in person and in the review. You can claim a hundred times over that you know who I was or that I spent time with you. You're still mistaking me for someone else. Because, again, I wasn't in the restaurant, but in the cafe! This kind of thing can easily happen when you're overloaded and overwhelmed. And if you would bother to read my other reviews, you'll see that I generally rate fairly and the positive experiences far outweigh the negative ones. And read my first post; I even understood that the cafe was sold out. I only complained about the absolutely unfriendly employee! But if the managers behave towards customers the way you do, how is the employee supposed to know any better?! So, as sorry as I am for the employees, I can only advise against Ben's Cafe.

Ben is incredibly friendly and accommodating! We went hiking with two dogs and stopped for coffee. Ben even handed out a water bowl and treats for our dogs without us even asking! Overall, we felt very comfortable and received very friendly service! :) Thank you! And see you soon!

Delicious food and very good cake in a neat and always clean atmosphere for little money. Always my pleasure.

We have been to the cafe several times and always look forward to a fresh, homemade cake 🍰 and snacks as well as the very friendly service, but we treat the service as we would like to be treated ourselves. With this in mind, all the best for the future

A new tenant has taken over the restaurant café, now Ben's Restaurant with masterfully homemade cakes in all variations. Homemade tarte flambée, soups, good German cuisine with a good selection of different dishes as well as drinks and wines. Definitely always worth a visit. Changing breakfast events, brunch and other events. Suitable for groups, please reserve here. Super nice service.

National German dishes and fresh forest air + excellent service and hospitality - 100%

The café has reopened (June 2023) with a new operator. It is in the entrance hall of the National Park Center. You can sit inside and outside, with a view of the trees.

At the moment only cash payment is possible in the park center. The café is closed, probably for a longer period of time, as new tenants are being sought. We didn't look at the exhibition anymore. Parking costs 3 euros for 2 hours. Short-term parkers pay 1 euro.

Nice terrace with a view of the forest. The food, the main purpose of the visit, was a disaster. 1x Jägerschnitzel taken from the daily menu. Smallest schnitzel (size smaller than a €5 bill) I've ever eaten, oversalted and hard. The mushroom sauce tasted like ready-made sauce. The spaetzle wasn't salted, but that wasn't a bad thing, but the schnitzel was oversalted. The overall portion was much too small for the price and there was no salad (not even a leaf to decorate the plate). 1x cheese spaetzle also not good, very soggy and the portion was a joke for the price (over €10). This is where poor food (quality), small portions and a high price come together. Unusual too. First food was served, then only 1 minute later the cutlery was handed out. Normally it's always the other way around! On the drinks menu, a non-alcoholic Pilsner is offered under "0.5L from the bottle", but only a 0.33L bottle of Pilsner is brought to the table at the price stated on the menu. Service was friendly. Overall, a cafe/restaurant not recommended!
