I was in Gotha today for Thuringia Day so I ordered coffee and cake, the coffee was good and the cake was frozen.

No, €2.50 for going to the toilet for people who weren't there to eat. Chewing gum stuck to the bottom edge of the plate. When paying, the waitress determined the tip herself.

The cream sauce tasted very sour, like a lot of lemon juice; otherwise unfortunately little taste.

We were very satisfied! The food was very good, full of flavor, the meat was tender and completely sufficient. Nice service and as a thank you there was a martini and a grappa on the house. 👍Atmosphere very nice and cozy 💖

We cannot recommend the restaurant. The waiter intentionally kept repeating my order incorrectly. I didn't find it funny nor do I understand the reason for it... Cappuccino lukewarm; the ice cream half melted and the pizza bread... well... a shame - considering the beautiful location.

The Ratskeller offers a large selection of German and Italian dishes. The food was very good and the service was friendly. The restaurant is nicely decorated and cozy.

Unfortunately we had a very bad meal here. We had the roast with black beer sauce and the goulash. The meat was still ok, the sauce was pretty much the same for both dishes. The red cabbage was completely overcooked and had neither color nor taste and the dumplings were just cooked mush. Yes, the portions are very large, but what's the point if it doesn't taste good? The service isn't great either. There were only two of us, the drinks were brought completely wrong and unfortunately a meal too. Definitely not again.

Food wasn't great, waiters didn't even have change. It's a shame that such a beautiful place has such operators.

The restaurant in the beautiful square was a huge disappointment. The salad tasted strongly of mustard, the potatoes were fried in oil that apparently hadn't been changed since it opened, and the schnitzel was soaked in fat down to the last crumb. The juices were more reminiscent of cheap, packaged fruit pudding than real drinks. Although we're really not picky eaters - this was inedible. It's shameful to run a restaurant with such food quality in such a beautiful location.

We were guests here last evening. We had a reservation, but in this case we would certainly have gone without it. The drinks were brought relatively quickly. The meal was eaten a little later. In total we waited almost 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Strangely, the side salad of my schnitzel had no dressing at all, or so little that after one fork the dressing was completely gone and the rest of the salad had to be eaten without dressing... The cucumbers had probably already been cut and waiting for us since the day before and were unfortunately very wobbly... The salad itself was fresh and had no brown spots or anything like that. Still, it's a shame... The meat was good and nice and tender. For me, the cream sauce could have used a lot more flavor. The fries were very good, but unfortunately very little if you were hungry. My wife's schnitzel with asparagus was good. Unfortunately, hollandaise sauce was not homemade. The asparagus was really well peeled and tasted good. All in all, not a restaurant we would go to again. Personally, we were very confused and irritated by the mix of local cuisine and Italian cuisine. I don't go to the Chinese restaurant to eat pork knuckles with sauerkraut either 🤷🏼‍♂️

The food was very average and not salted enough. I've been there several times and it always tasted great and the service was nice. This time the blonde waiter was very average.

Very nice, with fair prices. Unfortunately, I arrived very late, but the service was still good and the pizza was delicious, even with customizations. I'd be happy to return.

Not recommended, I ordered a pizza on site to collect myself. After asking several times, I apparently forgot, then after about another 30 minutes I received my pizza and was rudely forced to give a tip. No appreciation for guests.

It promises more on the outside than it delivers on the inside. The food is so-so, and the service is rather unmotivated.

We weren't thrilled, the latte macchiato was tasty, the cappuccino with cream wasn't that great and the bruscetta was average. Bread toasted too hard, tomatoes barely seasoned. The biggest hit was the waiter, who wasn't particularly friendly and then charged 8 euros too much for the three things. So take this into account when ordering.

Stopped in spontaneously while visiting Gotha. The staff is friendly and the price-performance ratio is also great.

I used to love going there, but today was the last time! Condition totally unfriendly and rude. The food, well, one contained cardboard and the other had the ham that tasted really strange. What a shame actually!!!

Have eaten better there before, pasta with duck...of which there was almost nothing to be seen...when it came to the game goulash I wasn't sure if it was the food I ordered, service was friendly, fast, courteous

Very friendly staff and hospitality is very important in the Ratskeller. Always happy to go there. Highly recommended if you appreciate decent international cuisine.

The food was good, the service was friendly. Unfortunately there were broken cloth napkins at my table. If you want to represent something, it doesn't leave a good impression. Then I'd rather use paper napkins.

Absolutely not recommended! My companion ordered a fish and seafood dish and then got fish poisoning and had to go to the hospital because of it. Unfortunately, the taste of my dish wasn't convincing either. I heard that the freezers here are defrosted at night to save electricity. That explains a lot.

After our visit we had to go for something to eat 😒 It was expensive and not enough

Not allowing a mother to change her child's diaper in the toilet by saying that you are not a customer. Here you should think about the basic attitude towards children. You can't win customers that way either. Thanks for nothing.

Apart from the vault, this location has nothing to do with a Ratskeller. Mostly Italian food. Please stick with it, you might be able to do better. Pumpkin soup had more of a carrot flavor, the mushroom cream tasted more like powder soup. No recommendation from us.

My husband's meal was good. He had medallion with mushroom sauce and vegetables. Unfortunately my goulash was bland, the dumplings were too soft, red cabbage was okay. The service was very nice, but rarely present.

There were two of us there. The food tasted good. Unfortunately my beef roulade with red cabbage and dumplings was only lukewarm. My wife's pasta dish was forgotten in the kitchen and ended up being served after I had already finished eating. So that leads to this rating. It's a shame actually.

An all around positive experience. The location is appealing, the waiters are attentive and very friendly and the food is really recommended. The mushroom and pumpkin dishes in particular were a hit, big praise for the kitchen.

Unfortunately the food was an absolute failure. Quality and price don't match here. Tasteless and zero attention to detail. Cheese sauce with chicken, mango and tagliatelle underneath you can imagine something special. Unfortunately it wasn't, it was all a mess with no taste. The mango was carelessly arranged in huge pieces on top. Tagliatelle with mushrooms current season menu large pieces of fat in the food here too. In any case, we don't recommend this place; instead, we'd rather go to another Italian restaurant in town. In short, we've never had such bad food in Gotha.

This Ratskeller actually has a great ambience, but unfortunately it's just standard. The service is good and friendly, but the food is just standard

First my main course of pork fillet with Championg was served to me incorrectly, about 3 minutes later it came again, but without my Championg sauce, I waited another 5 minutes for the Championgs, in the meantime the Pommers and the vegetables were cold. SORRY dear Ratskeller, unfortunately that was nothing.

The ice cream was average and very heavily colored. The waiters were nice, but I wonder why some of them have to be dressed up like a woman...

There were 7 of us today in the Ratskeller. Super nice atmosphere, friendly staff and you absolutely can't complain about the price either. Definitely worth a visit.

There were 9 of us in the outdoor area and we were served super quickly and nicely. Only then did we see the beautiful rooms inside. Simply recommended.

Very hospitable restaurant. And: a restaurant that offers lunch. The food is first class - for example, the schnitzel is truly Viennese style. In addition to the standard dishes, there are also seasonal offerings; now in autumn e.g. B. pumpkin or fresh wild mushrooms. Delicious. My special praise to the kitchen.

Very good location, good food and nice service. A real restaurant tip in Gotha. Here you can sit outside directly on the market square or inside in a cozy, upscale atmosphere. The food is good - but it depends on what you eat. We ate turkey medallions with vegetables and fries - highly recommended. Perfectly cooked. There was also lasagna. This is not recommended. The service is courteous and nice. The price per person with one dish and one drink is around €20. Gladly again.

Great staff, good location. The food was really ok, not outstanding, but not bad either. Given the slightly higher prices, the quality and taste should simply have been at a higher level. When it comes to criticism, it must be said clearly that we were full and no one had any aches and pains afterwards.

It's a beautiful restaurant in the middle of Gotha, right next to the old town hall. Fast service (a little too fast even if you want a break between courses), very nice staff and super tasty dishes

A medium to high priced restaurant. I chose zander, I only got a small piece, the spinach was very spicy and the fries were borderline salty. For the dumplings with wild mushrooms, my wife was able to look for the mushrooms in the sauce. With an extra charge of €5 it's very steep. At the next table the spaghetti with mushroom sauce was complained about as being much too spicy. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

Looks posh, is quite expensive, but the food is rubbish - from portions to quality and taste. Really just a tourist trap, with a good location in mind, but nothing else to show for the prices asked there. At least the staff is friendly.

Great ambience and nice service staff. We also liked the dishes, although unfortunately I was looking for the “creamy” wild mushroom soup 😅. Unfortunately there was only a thin, uncreamy soup with wild mushrooms in it. But the black beer roast and the schnitzel with wild mushrooms were excellent.

The service was good, although I had the feeling that the young service team was slightly overwhelmed. It seemed that some of them were first-year students or temporary workers. But everyone was really friendly and made a real effort, which is why 4 out of 5 stars for the service. The ambience is okay. The food is, in my opinion, rather average. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat didn't convince me.

The ambience is inviting, although very kitschy with the windows full of dust collectors. The service is extremely attentive. Unfortunately you can't tell from the outside that it's Italian. The Thuringian dishes are correspondingly poor. The vegetables from the can or bag and a roast meat with peppers, completely atypical. Very mediocre in taste and not very high quality. Prices, however, are quite high.

Overwhelmed service: the food was only brought to two other tables because the waiter no longer knew who had ordered what. It ended up being lukewarm at best. For the price, the Thuringian bratwurst was very small. All in all not really recommended.

The pizza was good, the service was a bit unfriendly and somehow not really on point. We were served by a total of 4 different waiters, all of whom hardly exchanged a word with us. It was all pretty uncomfortable, just some quick Italian food, yes , stay longer, no...

Great atmosphere. Ratskeller no German cuisine. According to the motto “Schuster stick to your lasts” you should only choose Italian dishes. The kitchen doesn’t have a “good” approach to German food. It looks good, but unfortunately the taste/quality wasn't right.

Unfriendly waiters who don't know the numbers of your dishes. Chicken not cooked through in salad. Price performance doesn't fit.

In summer it's great to spend time outside with good food and good drinks. Service is always prompt and friendly.

Had ice cream there today and the cream tasted completely like butter. The service did not take the problem seriously. When paying, you are not asked whether you want to pay separately or together and there was no goodbye either. Very unfriendly Was definitely our last visit. It's a shame that you can't give minus stars here.

I have rarely experienced such unfriendly employees. Four of us were eating ice cream and after we informed them that there was something wrong with the cream because it looked lumpy and was far too buttery, we were not taken seriously and were treated much worse afterwards than at the beginning. He allegedly passed on our request and when we wanted to pay, he didn't even ask if we wanted to pay together or separately and literally threw the bill on the table to my partner. It's a disgrace that the waiter didn't even say goodbye to us after paying, since of course there was no tip.

Ordered a table for 6 p.m., still had no food on the table at 8 p.m., drove home without food. Never again.

Very clean, comfortable, you can sit outside the Rat Haus Küken it is in the middle of the city very satisfied friendly conditions, you can also sit inside very nice food tastes delicious I can recommend it.

First of all I have to say that the food was really excellent and the atmosphere is really nice when you can sit outside, but I still have a few things to complain about... The straw on my Lillet still had lipstick on it from the previous guest, which unfortunately I only noticed after I had drunk something. I found it very disgusting! But the young waiter just asked why I wasn't wearing lipstick.. (was that supposed to be funny?) He took the straw with him and brought a new one.. He owed me an apology or something like that!! My companion and I each ordered a pasta dish.. When the dishes came, we realized that one was wrong... we hadn't ordered it! It was confirmed that it was apparently a mistake on the part of the kitchen. So I ate my pasta alone and my companion got their food exactly 5 minutes after I was finished. This time there was an apology, but only that... No free coffee as an excuse, restaurateurs don't seem to do that anymore these days! What also amused me a lot... the waiters, at least some of them seem to "really love their job" - at least this was quite credibly expressed several times as we walked past 😉 Conclusion: excellent food, the rest... well

An atmosphere like at the train station. At 8 p.m. the tables and chairs began to be cleared away. It was probably a nuisance. The starter came with the main course, which we later got back warmed up. The noodles were correspondingly mushy and even though my husband didn't want arugula, he had it twice. He actually wanted to eat pizza, but was told it wasn't available anymore. An hour later, other guests ordered pizza and received it. We then had to be insulted by these guests because we had questioned the matter. I actually thought the TV with the hidden camera was just around the corner. Unfortunately only the waiter with the complete bill did not respond to this disaster. Experience gastronomy of a different kind.
