Bellini im Ratskeller in Gotha

Went there shortly before Christmas, ordered from the Advent menu. Food was tasty, plentiful, price/performance OK.

Nice restaurant in an old vaulted cellar. Food and drinks were delicious and reasonably priced. Waiters were very attentive. We felt very welcome here.

Not allowing a mother to change her child's diaper in the toilet by saying that you are not a customer. Here you should think about the basic attitude towards children. You can't win customers that way either. Thanks for nothing.

Apart from the vault, this location has nothing to do with a Ratskeller. Mostly Italian food. Please stick with it, you might be able to do better. Pumpkin soup had more of a carrot flavor, the mushroom cream tasted more like powder soup. No recommendation from us.

Very good menu, also with German dishes. The food was very tasty. The service was quick and attentive.

My husband's meal was good. He had medallion with mushroom sauce and vegetables. Unfortunately my goulash was bland, the dumplings were too soft, red cabbage was okay. The service was very nice, but rarely present.

There were two of us there. The food tasted good. Unfortunately my beef roulade with red cabbage and dumplings was only lukewarm. My wife's pasta dish was forgotten in the kitchen and ended up being served after I had already finished eating. So that leads to this rating. It's a shame actually.

An all around positive experience. The location is appealing, the waiters are attentive and very friendly and the food is really recommended. The mushroom and pumpkin dishes in particular were a hit, big praise for the kitchen.

Unfortunately the food was an absolute failure. Quality and price don't match here. Tasteless and zero attention to detail. Cheese sauce with chicken, mango and tagliatelle underneath you can imagine something special. Unfortunately it wasn't, it was all a mess with no taste. The mango was carelessly arranged in huge pieces on top. Tagliatelle with mushrooms current season menu large pieces of fat in the food here too. In any case, we don't recommend this place; instead, we'd rather go to another Italian restaurant in town. In short, we've never had such bad food in Gotha.

First my main course of pork fillet with Championg was served to me incorrectly, about 3 minutes later it came again, but without my Championg sauce, I waited another 5 minutes for the Championgs, in the meantime the Pommers and the vegetables were cold. SORRY dear Ratskeller, unfortunately that was nothing.

This Ratskeller actually has a great ambience, but unfortunately it's just standard. The service is good and friendly, but the food is just standard

The ice cream was average and very heavily colored. The waiters were nice, but I wonder why some of them have to be dressed up like a woman...

There were 7 of us today in the Ratskeller. Super nice atmosphere, friendly staff and you absolutely can't complain about the price either. Definitely worth a visit.

Very hospitable restaurant. And: a restaurant that offers lunch. The food is first class - for example, the schnitzel is truly Viennese style. In addition to the standard dishes, there are also seasonal offerings; now in autumn e.g. B. pumpkin or fresh wild mushrooms. Delicious. My special praise to the kitchen.

There were 9 of us in the outdoor area and we were served super quickly and nicely. Only then did we see the beautiful rooms inside. Simply recommended.

Very good location, good food and nice service. A real restaurant tip in Gotha. Here you can sit outside directly on the market square or inside in a cozy, upscale atmosphere. The food is good - but it depends on what you eat. We ate turkey medallions with vegetables and fries - highly recommended. Perfectly cooked. There was also lasagna. This is not recommended. The service is courteous and nice. The price per person with one dish and one drink is around €20. Gladly again.

Great staff, good location. The food was really ok, not outstanding, but not bad either. Given the slightly higher prices, the quality and taste should simply have been at a higher level. When it comes to criticism, it must be said clearly that we were full and no one had any aches and pains afterwards.

I don't know how positive reviews can come about here - we let the food go back - in terms of taste and the degree of heat it reminded me of the school lunches from buckets in the GDR era - never again!!!

A medium to high priced restaurant. I chose zander, I only got a small piece, the spinach was very spicy and the fries were borderline salty. For the dumplings with wild mushrooms, my wife was able to look for the mushrooms in the sauce. With an extra charge of €5 it's very steep. At the next table the spaghetti with mushroom sauce was complained about as being much too spicy. We cannot recommend this restaurant.

It's a beautiful restaurant in the middle of Gotha, right next to the old town hall. Fast service (a little too fast even if you want a break between courses), very nice staff and super tasty dishes

Looks posh, is quite expensive, but the food is rubbish - from portions to quality and taste. Really just a tourist trap, with a good location in mind, but nothing else to show for the prices asked there. At least the staff is friendly.

Great ambience and nice service staff. We also liked the dishes, although unfortunately I was looking for the “creamy” wild mushroom soup 😅. Unfortunately there was only a thin, uncreamy soup with wild mushrooms in it. But the black beer roast and the schnitzel with wild mushrooms were excellent.

The service was good, although I had the feeling that the young service team was slightly overwhelmed. It seemed that some of them were first-year students or temporary workers. But everyone was really friendly and made a real effort, which is why 4 out of 5 stars for the service. The ambience is okay. The food is, in my opinion, rather average. Unfortunately, the quality of the meat didn't convince me.

Overwhelmed service: the food was only brought to two other tables because the waiter no longer knew who had ordered what. It ended up being lukewarm at best. For the price, the Thuringian bratwurst was very small. All in all not really recommended.

The pizza was good, the service was a bit unfriendly and somehow not really on point. We were served by a total of 4 different waiters, all of whom hardly exchanged a word with us. It was all pretty uncomfortable, just some quick Italian food, yes , stay longer, no...

The ambience is inviting, although very kitschy with the windows full of dust collectors. The service is extremely attentive. Unfortunately you can't tell from the outside that it's Italian. The Thuringian dishes are correspondingly poor. The vegetables from the can or bag and a roast meat with peppers, completely atypical. Very mediocre in taste and not very high quality. Prices, however, are quite high.

Great atmosphere. Ratskeller no German cuisine. According to the motto “Schuster stick to your lasts” you should only choose Italian dishes. The kitchen doesn’t have a “good” approach to German food. It looks good, but unfortunately the taste/quality wasn't right.

Unfriendly waiters who don't know the numbers of your dishes. Chicken not cooked through in salad. Price performance doesn't fit.

In summer it's great to spend time outside with good food and good drinks. Service is always prompt and friendly.

Had ice cream there today and the cream tasted completely like butter. The service did not take the problem seriously. When paying, you are not asked whether you want to pay separately or together and there was no goodbye either. Very unfriendly Was definitely our last visit. It's a shame that you can't give minus stars here.

I have rarely experienced such unfriendly employees. Four of us were eating ice cream and after we informed them that there was something wrong with the cream because it looked lumpy and was far too buttery, we were not taken seriously and were treated much worse afterwards than at the beginning. He allegedly passed on our request and when we wanted to pay, he didn't even ask if we wanted to pay together or separately and literally threw the bill on the table to my partner. It's a disgrace that the waiter didn't even say goodbye to us after paying, since of course there was no tip.

Ordered a table for 6 p.m., still had no food on the table at 8 p.m., drove home without food. Never again.

We haven't eaten so badly in a long time. My Thuringian dumplings with goulash and red cabbage....no taste, the sauce was watery and the meat...well.... The waiter was overwhelmed, tense, couldn't remember who ordered what, when. There was a lot of back and forth with the orders...Please be sure to make improvements!!!!!

First of all I have to say that the food was really excellent and the atmosphere is really nice when you can sit outside, but I still have a few things to complain about... The straw on my Lillet still had lipstick on it from the previous guest, which unfortunately I only noticed after I had drunk something. I found it very disgusting! But the young waiter just asked why I wasn't wearing lipstick.. (was that supposed to be funny?) He took the straw with him and brought a new one.. He owed me an apology or something like that!! My companion and I each ordered a pasta dish.. When the dishes came, we realized that one was wrong... we hadn't ordered it! It was confirmed that it was apparently a mistake on the part of the kitchen. So I ate my pasta alone and my companion got their food exactly 5 minutes after I was finished. This time there was an apology, but only that... No free coffee as an excuse, restaurateurs don't seem to do that anymore these days! What also amused me a lot... the waiters, at least some of them seem to "really love their job" - at least this was quite credibly expressed several times as we walked past 😉 Conclusion: excellent food, the rest... well

Long wait for food 1 hour at shortest

Is not recommended Pizza was ordered was rejected with the reason that it was out so I ordered pasta without arugula of course the pasta with arugula came and the starter came with the main course 15 minutes later four people at the next table ordered pizza I went to the waiter I thought the pizzas were out A cursory apology was all so not recommended you are being ripped off across the board they don't listen and bring the wrong thing not even worth one star miserable

An atmosphere like at the train station. At 8 p.m. the tables and chairs began to be cleared away. It was probably a nuisance. The starter came with the main course, which we later got back warmed up. The noodles were correspondingly mushy and even though my husband didn't want arugula, he had it twice. He actually wanted to eat pizza, but was told it wasn't available anymore. An hour later, other guests ordered pizza and received it. We then had to be insulted by these guests because we had questioned the matter. I actually thought the TV with the hidden camera was just around the corner. Unfortunately only the waiter with the complete bill did not respond to this disaster. Experience gastronomy of a different kind.

Somewhat surprising that the Ratskeller is Italian. Local specialties are also offered and the Thuringian black beer roast tasted good. There are seating options inside and outside, whereby you can look directly at the town hall when sitting in front of the house or under the parasol.

We waited a really long time and we were ignored the whole time. We waited about 20 minutes...

Not a nice atmosphere. The “boss” walks around the store arrogantly and doesn’t answer questions. You can't feel comfortable in such conditions. The boss depends on the guests and his staff!!! But we didn't have the feeling that he saw it that way.

It was always an experience to see this building from the Schellenbrunnen. This building, built in two columns, with its own bells and tower, extends from Marktstrasse to Buttergasse. A large restaurant and coffee crown the view. The large umbrellas with tables invite you to linger and enjoy on hot days. ☕️🍹 Many people only see that there is a tower with a base of a pillar when they stand in front of it and think how that works🤔 and there is also a corner entrance. Even back then, people built things that were different, but very beautiful.

I cannot imagine how all the other reviews talk about the service. We came here on a monday afternoon to eat a pizza. We could pick out our own table and got helped right away. The service was quick and they even helped with the wasp problem around our drinks. The pizza's we had were amazing! I myself prefer a little bit less oil on the pizza but i think the salami was to blame for that hahaha. When we paid the server was really nice and even joked about the 5 euro bill we gave him (he thought it was fake since it was an old one). Overall a very good experience!

We visited more than once. Previously, a lot of tasty... Now... I think 2 stars is a lot. Last visit... The cutlery was dirty, we were chasing the waiter to serve us, the food... Schnitzel with cheese sauce. About a year ago, a large portion, gorgonzola sauce... And the last visit. The fries look like they were made of gold, such a portion, the sauce looks like from a package from Tom's. And most likely the last visit. Cost cutting has been visible for some time. And changing the kitchen staff for the worse. If things came back to normal, we would love to visit again.

The “Thuringian food” was probably more out of the box, overpriced and bad. The service was friendly and fun thanks to the immigrant waiters. It's actually a nice place, but the decision to eat at an Italian restaurant next time was the right one.

Nice ambience and attentive service. However, this couldn't make up for the bad food. Neither dumplings, roulade, roast in black beer were freshly prepared, probably not even homemade. Half of the food was cold. Maybe you can eat very good Italian food there, but definitely not German. Never again... The restaurant is not barrier-free! To get to the toilet there is a long staircase that leads to the even deeper basement.
