We were there for the first time. The service was courteous, the food was more than sufficient, unfortunately the gyros were only lukewarm and far too dry.

If you are on vacation in Bensersiel, the restaurant is worth a visit, nice service and good food.

All of the meat was fried dry...service was nice and good...salad buffet was poor...

Unfortunately my visit here was a disappointment. The Spezi was no longer carbonated, which severely affected the taste. The fries were inedible - soggy and completely tasteless. The gyros casserole was far too runny that it was barely recognizable as a dish. Also, the pieces of meat were way too small, which ruined the whole texture and taste. Overall a very disappointing experience. I won't eat here anymore.

We celebrated New Year's Eve with friends. Still warm food after 10 p.m. Gyros, liver, vegetarian dishes, everything fresh and delicious. The Greek start to the new year at 11 p.m. And at midnight the ouzo for everyone, another German New Year's Eve and quickly to the harbor fireworks. Or simply on the dike next door.

A successful evening on December 30th, 2024 On December 30, 2024, around 8:45 p.m., we spontaneously looked for a restaurant that could still serve us at this late hour. Although the official opening time was until 9 p.m., the restaurant was flexible and stayed open longer due to the busy period. Since the restaurant was initially fully booked, we had to wait outside for a while. Thanks to the heat lamps on and an ouzo on the house, we felt well looked after. After just five minutes we were shown to our table. The cozy, somewhat narrower room layout contributed to the family atmosphere. The service was attentive and friendly, drinks and food were served quickly. The portions were generous - so much so that we couldn't finish the salad that was offered. The price-performance ratio turned out to be fair: rich, tasty dishes and side dish changes at no extra charge. We would like to thank you very much for the lovely evening, the delicious food and the good service – including the ouzo. We would be happy to come back on our next visit to Bensersiel. Have a good start into the new year 2025!

Everything was very tasteful and the staff was very friendly. I recommend “At the Greek” without reservation.

12/30/24 - approx. 8.45 p.m. - 10 p.m Spontaneously around 8:45 p.m. we looked for a restaurant that would still serve guests food at this time. The restaurant is officially open until 9 p.m. - but we were lucky that it was busy and was therefore very flexible in staying open longer. We had to wait outside because it was still completely booked. The heat lamps were turned on for us and the four of us also received an ouzo on the house. That was great and delicious. We didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes, which wasn't a problem at all. The restaurant is rather narrow and therefore very cozy. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Drinks and food arrived quickly. We had to struggle with the large portions and we couldn't manage to get the salad, which you can put together yourself, so we didn't get it. There is a lot of good food for what initially seems like a high price. So it's inexpensive - worth the price. Changes to the supplements do not cost any extra charge. Also no longer a given. The food was delicious, very tasty. We therefore cannot understand the negative reviews. We would like to thank you very much for the lovely evening, the delicious food, the good service and the ouzo. The next time we visit Bensersiel, we'll be happy to come back. Happy New Year 2025.

My relatives and I had a wonderful evening today. The atmosphere is very nice and cozy. The restaurant is small and nice. Ideal and inviting for social evenings. The same applies to the innkeepers. Very hostile and familiar. I immediately felt comfortable. During the evening we received several ouzos and a delicious bread with tzatziki as a starter on the house. The food was excellent. The portions are large and very tasty. If I'm in the area next time, I'll be happy to come back. Thank you very much for the great evening with you.

Luckily I can't share the negative reviews. The food was on the table relatively quickly and tasted very good, meat skewer juicy, lamb very tasty. Of course the atmosphere is a bit old-fashioned, but where is that not the case? The waiter has a relaxed manner and doesn't have to please everyone. Since we were there before the reserved time, we were asked to wait outside the door. There was then an ouzo on the house and the heat lamps were turned on. That's how service works! Everything OK !

Today we ate twice at the Greek restaurant, I ordered senior food, fries and chicken schnitzel, fries and 2 schnitzels, dry, was only edible with salad or mayo, a small bag of mayo costs 70 cents, just before paying, was asked if we would like an ouzo? Yes, we thought it would be free, we had to pay 12 euros, 2 small bottles of ouzo with ice, why wasn't this discussed before? The landlord waits intrusively at the door when he sees guests who are just reading the menu and the prices, he is called in with sweet words, at the moment the only restaurant open is in Bensersiel, during the Christmas season, The two schnitzels looked like From the bohfrost or ice cream man, 🤣But be careful when asked If you want ouzo or tzatziki, ask beforehand, it all costs money 💸💸💸💸💸💸

Staff very friendly, food wasn't tasty at all, but it was very expensive. Once and never again.

We were here for dinner. The ambience was nice and the staff was nice. People often asked if everything was OK. The taste of the food was partly partly. We had tzatziki with bread as a starter, which was delicious, and the Poseidon plate as our main course. Here the fillet and the skewer were very tasty, the rice was quite firm and didn't taste that good. Unfortunately the gyros was dry and a bit hard. The fries were okay. There was also salad from the salad bar (you can help yourself here), which was very tasty. At the end there was an ouzo as a nightcap from the restaurant, as well as a few small pieces of chocolate.

I've been to many restaurants, but we've almost never been treated as friendly, nice, personable and accommodating as we were here. Despite misunderstandings and ouzo spilled by us, everything was done to satisfy us, sometimes at the expense of the restaurant. Thank you very much for that.

Friendly welcome and service from the owner and his wife. The food was very good and enough to fill you up ♨️ e.g. You can portion your own coleslaw with the dish as you wish. The dining room is a bit small but cozy and there is enough space outside in the beer garden even if the weather isn't ideal. Quality and taste very good.

I haven't eaten so badly in a long time. Fries tasted like fish and had zero salt, the meat was fried completely dead. I had a skewer. Poorly seasoned and not grilled from the pan. We were four people and everything wasn't good. Uzo as usual no longer exists either. Criticism will not be accepted. We were already there in 2021 and it was super delicious. Today we were there for the last time. Too bad

Das Gyros war leider sehr trocken und alles andere als saftig, die überbackene Version war hingegen mehr als „deftig“ und lag schwer im Magen.

Wir hatten Gyros in Metaxasoße mit Käse überbacken bestellt. Das sogenannte Fleisch war ungenießbar, der Reis schmeckte nach gar nichts. Und die Soße war weit entfernt von einer Metaxasoße. Wir wurden nicht gefragt, ob alles in Ordnung sei oder ob es geschmeckt hat. Einen Ouzo, so wie es kenne, gab es auch nicht.

Extremely expensive, there were two of us and I ordered a small portion of tzatziki and gyros. In total, the two of us paid €67. And as noted in the review, the gyros was almost cold when it arrived, after a long wait

Wir wollten hier einen gemütlichen Abend verbringen und wurden mehr als enttäuscht. Das Restaurant befindet sich in einer alten Gastwirtschaft und soll durch griechische Dekorationen etwas ansprechend wirken. Wir fühlten uns hier gar nicht willkommen. Die Inhaberfamilie wirkte gestresst und missgelaunt. Die Getränke wurden missmutig hingestellt, einen Hinweis auf das Salatbuffet gab's nicht. Die Salatauswahl war in Ordnung aber Dressing in weißen Plastikflaschen ohne Angabe des Inhaltes ging gar nicht. Mein Gericht, Hackfleischröllchen in Metaxassoße überbacken, bestand aus vorgefertigten Cevapcici in einer geschmacklosen Soße. Nachwürzen hats auch nicht besser gemacht. Es wurde ohne die Frage, ob es geschmeckt hat, eilig abgeräumt. Am Nachbartisch fragte ein Herr vor dem Bezahlen, ob zum Abschluss ein Ouzo als Zeichen griechischer Gastfreundschaft ausgeschenkt wird. Dies wurde verneint. Einige Gäste haben dann Ouzo in kleinen Glasfläschchen bestellt und zusätzlich gezahlt. Wir würden dort nie wieder essen. Alle anderen Restaurants im Ort waren um ein Vielfaches besser.

Well, once and not again. Loveless service. As I walked away from the table, I mumbled "There's a salad in it..." The food was only lukewarm, all the food was dry, no sauce, no tzatziki, no ouzo as usual. Quick, unfriendly payment before the plates were cleared away. There are better alternatives in this small village.

My friend's grill plate tasted good, but was partly cold. The menu offers calamari, but you get squid rings, which tasted no different than frozen food and were seasoned poorly or not at all. Be careful when ordering drinks, if you don't say the size, you'll automatically get the largest one possible. Going to the toilet is not free for guests either. In our eyes, an outrage.

At the Greeks you can find the beautiful Greek cuisine again. Simple but delicious. The comparison comes from the restaurants on the coast and Munich. So you can distribute the stars. The food was on the table very quickly. Now parking is such an issue. The view of the harbor cannot be fulfilled because a compromise has to be made. If something doesn't fit, just let us know and it will work. No reason to complain about incorrect orders 😀. Have fun

Tourist bar with simply furnished indoor and outdoor seating. Standard menu without any special highlights. Service friendly and quick. You should get the starter salad from the “buffet”. However, you will only find a relatively modest selection of canned goods there. The music in the restaurant takes a lot of getting used to. Only melancholic music is played. The prices are not low. Two ouzos cost €11, but are also served with ice. Oh well. At “our” Greek home, the ouzo is on the house after dinner.

That's better. The salad buffet is very manageable and the sauces with it are not really recommended. Minced steaks are also very manageable in terms of the amount of meat. The fries are OK but you won't get full. All in all, there is room for improvement.

My gyros were delicious, but unfortunately only lukewarm. My husband's lamb chops were just subpar. Cold and tough (that was definitely an old sheep 🐑). This was the first and last visit to this restaurant for us. Unfortunately not recommended.

We were there on Sunday evening. Actually it was already closed. Nevertheless we were still served. The food was really delicious. If it wasn't so far away, I would actually go there more often.

It's a shame to have been here. The salad buffet was still okay. The white beans as a starter were delicious. The gyro plate was nothing. Had it returned twice because the meat was lukewarm, and plate number three was also only lukewarm. The meat too dry. The complaint wasn't well received by the service and I don't want to write anything about the service, it's better. All in all disappointing. Get better food for less money at a Greek takeaway.

So first of all I can't understand these negative reviews. There is dressing for salads and you can also season it at the table. I can give 10 points for the food because the portions and the prices are unique. We were very excited and not for the first time here. I was there yesterday, got a table inside. The atmosphere is very old-fashioned and doesn't seem very Greek. But for me it was about food. I ordered gyros gratinated, but only with fries and no rice. The fries were very nice, golden yellow and crispy. The mixed salad from the buffet was brought to my table, it was very tasty with the dressing. The gratinated gyros were plentiful and tasted very good. Didn't quite finish the portion. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

A "real" Greek, traditional cuisine, owner-run restaurant and the family helps - that's how you know it and that's how I personally like it. Unfortunately, Greek cuisine is not my favorite, but the children were even happier with the classics “Spaghetti Bolognese” and “Fish fingers with fries”. Everyone was full and was fed well and quickly. Great, we'd love to come back!

Food is really recommended. Staff very friendly. Parking, however, is very difficult as tickets are often handed out and it is not really clear how long you are allowed to park But this is what the city wanted, not the restaurant itself. The owners make every guest aware of this. It's better to park in the large parking lot and walk a few steps. Prices right by the sea are completely ok. We were really satisfied.

I ordered a plate worth €20. The rice was completely overcooked and some of the meat was cold and not fresh. In addition, we found the service very unfriendly. My friend's Metaxa casserole didn't taste like Metaxa and the meat tasted like cardboard. Anyone who wants to eat here is completely lost and crazy. Additionally, the card machine didn't work... Wasn't announced. Just sad. There was no ouzo for us either!!!!

Gyros with Metaxa didn't taste like Metaxa. Souflaki was dry and didn't taste good at all. Can't understand the good reviews. Salad buffet consisted of canned olives, watery tomatoes, kidney beans and grated carrots, plus beetroot and peppers. The pepperoni was the best of all. Can't recommend the restaurant.
