An absolutely succulent breaded escalope in a very warm environment. Be careful, the children's menu contains a large escalope while the adult menu contains double. I opted for the children's menu and it was more than sufficient.

If you like schnitzel, this is the place for you. Only the peanut sauce doesn't really taste good. 2 hours of time for a leisurely meal is far too short. With all understanding, wanting to reserve the table twice in the evening. But if you have to wait an hour for your food, then 30 minutes is far too short to eat. But you can really recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience and we will definitely come back again. Reservations make sense! Unless you get there early and are already queuing outside before it opens.

Unfortunately, Grandma Kleinmann has degenerated into a tourist restaurant. Too bad. I can remember 25 years ago very well. Well, there shouldn't be any blame. I don't go there anymore.

When I think back to the long days without Mama and Babba, you were always there for me. Without you I probably wouldn't have been able to cope with this difficult childhood. Oh, my Babba and I'm Saufa - and then my mom and I will get it too! 🙄🍻 But I could always escape to you, my dear Gisela, where it was certainly warm, right? You have always given me so much love that I never could have dreamed of. Whether it was delicious food or just cuddling in your arm, with you I found everything my heart needed. And yes, I have to admit, you really host the fanciest fold I've ever seen 😅💥. So, thank you, you wonderful woman, for being there, for laughing, and for taking me by the hand when I needed it most. I love you until the end of the world, dear Grandma Gisella!

Delicious schnitzels and very friendly service. We had not made a reservation, but after waiting 10 minutes (around 6 p.m.) we already had a table.

I ordered schnitzel, but I don't think it was. But it was so delicious. The combination with roasted vegetables took away the greasiness for a week.

The schnitzels in particular are a real highlight – huge and perfectly seasoned. The cozy atmosphere and friendly service round off the experience wonderfully. You immediately feel at home here, almost like you are at home. If you're looking for authentic German home cooking, you've come to the right place!

The sauces for the schnitzel didn't taste good at all. The service wasn't great either. Very loud, very narrow, very crowded.

Without a reservation, you can expect to wait at the counter, but it often goes faster than expected if you make compromises. I ate the best schnitzel in Cologne here. Can only be recommended, the store is cult and rightly so.

Outstanding schnitzel restaurant: The veal schnitzel variations with different sauces are not cheap, but incredibly tasty. Everything tastes handmade, no instant waste. Huge portions, great staff, cozy atmosphere. It's great on the inside and nice on the outside too. No parking space.

If you enjoy schnitzel and want one that will leave you full, then this is your stop. The schnitzel is essentially the size of the plate and comes with a salad and form of potato. They have many different sauces (we had the Jager and the Chili Lili: tomatoes based sauce), and both were delicious. They have pork, beef, cheese, and a vegetable schnitzel to choose from, so there is something for everyone. The service was great considering how busy it was. A reservation is highly recommended, although if you get there early enough, you may be able to walk in. Overall, this was a great place for dinner.

Incredibly tasty and great service!

We had a reservation for a later date and ended up walking in at Grandma Kleinmann's an hour early. Despite the fact that it was really full to the brim, they did everything they could to accommodate our wishes. We sat briefly outside under the heaters and less than 15 minutes later we found ourselves indoors and had the opportunity to enjoy one of the best schnitzels I have ever eaten, in combination with pictures and photos that take us through the life of the founder Paula Kleinmann. I had the classic Wienerschnitzel and it more than 100% rivals the Wienerschnitzel at the famous “Lugeck” in Vienna and is twice as big! The Jägerschnitzel is also a poem, as is the side salad, which was a little culinary surprise in its simplicity. Even though the place was packed and the employees had their hands full, I was surprised at how devoted and friendly we were at all times and how our wishes were taken into account!!! As a Berliner, I know too well that this is not a given 😉 To put it briefly - top food, wonderful staff and a rustic atmosphere that gives you a look into Grandma Kleinmann's life. We are very grateful and unfortunately we were too hungry and hungry to take photos :) All the best and absolute recommendation to us ❤️

Later, the Wolf family continued to run the place. Serving as a family business since its establishment, Bei Oma Kelinmann's warm atmosphere and schintzel are quite nice. Been there many times and never had bad food or a bad time. Reservations for the indoor area “unfortunately” have to be booked very early, but you can always get a spot if you have to wait on site.

Simply great, if you like a rustic atmosphere and are looking for an absolutely top schnitzel, Grandma Kleinmann is a great place to be. The service is great, friendly, helpful and in a good mood. I drove there from Aachen just because of the schnitzel and it was totally worth it. It wasn't the last time.

Just like 30 years ago, first-class, huge schnitzels. The service is always ready to get you to the table and to the food as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, you now have to make a reservation weeks in advance. So it's better to just go there if you're lucky. The schnitzels are worth the wait.

Hoewel het vinden van een parkeerplaats een uitdaging kan zijn, vooral 's avonds, is het de moeite waard om een bezoek te brengen. Het eten bij Bei Oma Kleinmann is van uitstekende kwaliteit en de prijzen zijn schappelijk. De menukaart biedt een verscheidenheid aan typisch Duitse gerechten, met de schnitzels als absolute aanrader. Het terras op de stoep voor het restaurant is een gezellige plek om te genieten van je maaltijd, vooral op warme dagen. Wat echt opvalt bij Bei Oma Kleinmann is de vriendelijke bediening. Het personeel is attent en zorgt ervoor dat je je welkom voelt vanaf het moment dat je binnenkomt. De sfeer binnen is typisch Duits en straalt een warme, huiselijke gezelligheid uit. Ondanks de parkeermoeilijkheden zijn wij zeer tevreden met ons bezoek aan Bei Oma Kleinmann. Het is een plek waar je graag terugkomt voor de heerlijke gerechten en de gastvrije sfeer.

Very cool, traditional restaurant with really tasty schnitzel variations. We were there 15 years ago ;) now of course much more expensive... (veal schnitzel child with spaetzle and normal veal schnitzel with fries and 2 drinks 75 euros) You should make a reservation, or you may have to wait. There are different meat variants and side dishes. Nice, typical Cologne staff, just a cool location :)

An insider restaurant. So of course it was very well attended and we had to wait almost an hour in one place at 5 p.m. on a Tuesday evening. But we were able to have a drink at the bar in the meantime. In any case, advance reservation is highly recommended. The waiters and waitresses are all very friendly. The price was high, but it's just a place of worship.

Jetzt hat’s beruflich geklappt und was soll ich sagen: was dort scho gefeiert wurde und wird… Dann das tolle, freundliche und nette Personal… Ach gegessen und getrunken haben wir auch: Schnitzel Kölsche Art, ich war sowas von begeistert!!!! 2-3 frisch gezapfte Hefeweizen… Was will man(n) mehr…;-) Bis zum nächsten Mal

Service, Getränke uns Speisen haben voll überzeugt. Obwohl ich durchaus inzwischen eher ein Freund der etwas kleineren Fleischportionen bin, hat mich das mächtige Schnitzel wirklich komplett überzeugt. Liegt sicherlich auch an der guten Fleischqualität. Ich habe den Berg aufbekommen und hatte danach noch nicht einmal das Völlegefühl das man kurz vorm Platzen ist. Pfeffersoße war auch sehr lecker, super Bratkartoffeln mit sep. gereichten Speck und Zwiebeln und ein leckerer Beilagensalat. Service war sehr aufmerksam und freundlich. Preise fair. Etwas schade, wie bei vielen Restaurants inzwischen üblich, das Zeitfenster. Wir wären gerne noch sitzen geblieben.

I'm currently in Cologne at Grandma Kleinmann's and I have to say, the schnitzel here is really incredibly tasty! It's juicy, crispy and simply cooked to perfection. The fresh salad, especially the potato and cucumber salad, is also a delight and goes perfectly with the warm late summer temperatures. The atmosphere at Oma Kleinmann is cozy and inviting, just the right place to enjoy a good meal in a relaxed environment. I can only recommend this restaurant to anyone who is in Cologne and wants a great schnitzel. I'll definitely be back!

This was the second time I've been to Grandma Kleinmann's. I ate very well again, not only the schnitzels but also the salads were great. Great ambience and just a good atmosphere. However, without a reservation it will be difficult to get a place. On our first visit we were really lucky and got two seats at the counter. This time I reserved online. Worked wonderfully. I'll definitely come back.

Really a very nice shop. I had the cheese schnitzel version “Westphalia” and was more than satisfied. The prices are also completely reasonable for what you get I would also recommend making a reservation in advance, otherwise you may have to wait a long time

The three of us went out to eat there for my husband's birthday. To our surprise there were table fireworks. The waiters are all young people with a good mood and natural friendliness, we felt very comfortable. We ordered two veal schnitzels and one pork schnitzel, the portion is large, the taste is excellent; the salad is fresh, varied and refined with sunflower seeds and the fried potatoes are tasty. With three Kölsch and one Weizen we paid a total of 115 euros. A point deduction for the ambience because it is warm in the interior without air conditioning or a fan in summer.

I enjoyed dinner here with my family, which really impressed me, the salad had a really delicious sauce and this trend also caught on with my Cordon Bleu. The portions were incredibly large and should satisfy even a very hungry guest. The sanitary facilities were clean and since it was my birthday that day there was even a little surprise for me. 5/5 stars

A bit of research confirmed this was the place to go for big schnitzel. A bit out of town but convenient to our hotel, about a 20 minute walk away in a vibrant part of the suburbs. We booked beforehand as it was a Friday night and were seated immediately. Staff were attentive and the locals happy to chat. Had the pork schnitzel with the mushroom sauce which was delicious. The rest of the family ordered from the kids' menu which was ample. A thoroughly enjoyable experience, but perhaps only if you like schnitzel.

Quaint cult pub/restaurant. Come in, feel good and eat enough. The schnitzels are simply great. Tender, crispy, delicious. The staff (the “grandmas”) are consistently friendly and attentive. Apart from the fact that it is sometimes difficult to reserve a table, there is nothing to complain about. Keep it up!

The best (and largest!) schnitzel in Kőln!!! Top!!

As a new schnitzel fan, I wanted to find “the best schnitzel where there is”. So Google which schnitzel house is recommended in the Cologne/Bonn area. At some point I came across Grandma Kleinmann and made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. The quaint restaurant on the corner has a rustic charm - not for fancy people who usually order smeared plates for 89 euros. And that's a very good thing! The waitresses were extremely friendly and you could feel the Rhenish cheerfulness of the entire staff. The schnitzel itself? Yeah, it was ok. No! Fun. It was absolutely divine! All 3 of us had a veal schnitzel. Or rather, there were two on the plate. Thin, buttery (butter was actually part of the garnish) and really extremely tasty. I had spaetzle, buddy fries. For me it was by far the best schnitzel in NRW! The price was higher than the average schnitzel, but the portion was so big that we ate the second part the next day. So the price is absolutely within reason. In conclusion, I can... no, I have to recommend a visit to Grandma Kleinmann. Anyone who masters the challenge of finding a parking space will be rewarded with a schnitzel-like treat that only Alf can experience with cats. Cool!

Absolute failure! Mass production, absolutely bad tasting giant schnitzel that tastes like breadcrumbs, completely overrated. Price performance not justified, far too expensive.

Als je niet bij Oma Kleinmann geweest bent als je Keulen bezoekt, dan heb je zeker wat gemist. Zo lekkere schnitzels nog nergens anders gegeten. Zéér royale porties, en je krijgt een zakje om eventuele rest mee te nemen naar huis. Volgende dag nog even lekkker, maar iets minder krokant (zeker niet erg!). Het slaatje bij de schnitzel was krokant, mooie variatie, fijne vinigrette. Ook zeer vriendelijke medewerkers, zonder reservatie wel even wachten aan de leuke toog met een Kölsch, geweldige vibe! We came here to try the best schnitzel in Köln, so we had high expectations. We got a very big schnitzel and according to my boyfriend who’s kind of a schnitzel tasting expert it was very very good indeed. You really get worth of your money and the people are very nice too. We didn’t have to wait long for the food/drinks. Definitely recommend but try to make sure you make a reservation!
