This was the second time I've been to Grandma Kleinmann's. I ate very well again, not only the schnitzels but also the salads were great. Great ambience and just a good atmosphere. However, without a reservation it will be difficult to get a place. On our first visit we were really lucky and got two seats at the counter. This time I reserved online. Worked wonderfully. I'll definitely come back.

The three of us went out to eat there for my husband's birthday. To our surprise there were table fireworks. The waiters are all young people with a good mood and natural friendliness, we felt very comfortable. We ordered two veal schnitzels and one pork schnitzel, the portion is large, the taste is excellent; the salad is fresh, varied and refined with sunflower seeds and the fried potatoes are tasty. With three Kölsch and one Weizen we paid a total of 115 euros. A point deduction for the ambience because it is warm in the interior without air conditioning or a fan in summer.

I enjoyed dinner here with my family, which really impressed me, the salad had a really delicious sauce and this trend also caught on with my Cordon Bleu. The portions were incredibly large and should satisfy even a very hungry guest. The sanitary facilities were clean and since it was my birthday that day there was even a little surprise for me. 5/5 stars

Quaint cult pub/restaurant. Come in, feel good and eat enough. The schnitzels are simply great. Tender, crispy, delicious. The staff (the “grandmas”) are consistently friendly and attentive. Apart from the fact that it is sometimes difficult to reserve a table, there is nothing to complain about. Keep it up!

Very tasty and above all huge schnitzels. The portions are so big that you can hardly finish them :D The taste was great and, above all, the food came very quickly, even though it was quite full. You can usually get a table spontaneously.

As a new schnitzel fan, I wanted to find “the best schnitzel where there is”. So Google which schnitzel house is recommended in the Cologne/Bonn area. At some point I came across Grandma Kleinmann and made a reservation 3 weeks in advance. The quaint restaurant on the corner has a rustic charm - not for fancy people who usually order smeared plates for 89 euros. And that's a very good thing! The waitresses were extremely friendly and you could feel the Rhenish cheerfulness of the entire staff. The schnitzel itself? Yeah, it was ok. No! Fun. It was absolutely divine! All 3 of us had a veal schnitzel. Or rather, there were two on the plate. Thin, buttery (butter was actually part of the garnish) and really extremely tasty. I had spaetzle, buddy fries. For me it was by far the best schnitzel in NRW! The price was higher than the average schnitzel, but the portion was so big that we ate the second part the next day. So the price is absolutely within reason. In conclusion, I can... no, I have to recommend a visit to Grandma Kleinmann. Anyone who masters the challenge of finding a parking space will be rewarded with a schnitzel-like treat that only Alf can experience with cats. Cool!

Absolute failure! Mass production, absolutely bad tasting giant schnitzel that tastes like breadcrumbs, completely overrated. Price performance not justified, far too expensive.

Als je niet bij Oma Kleinmann geweest bent als je Keulen bezoekt, dan heb je zeker wat gemist. Zo lekkere schnitzels nog nergens anders gegeten. Zéér royale porties, en je krijgt een zakje om eventuele rest mee te nemen naar huis. Volgende dag nog even lekkker, maar iets minder krokant (zeker niet erg!). Het slaatje bij de schnitzel was krokant, mooie variatie, fijne vinigrette. Ook zeer vriendelijke medewerkers, zonder reservatie wel even wachten aan de leuke toog met een Kölsch, geweldige vibe! We came here to try the best schnitzel in Köln, so we had high expectations. We got a very big schnitzel and according to my boyfriend who’s kind of a schnitzel tasting expert it was very very good indeed. You really get worth of your money and the people are very nice too. We didn’t have to wait long for the food/drinks. Definitely recommend but try to make sure you make a reservation!

Four of us were there on Saturday (not for the first time). The food was good, but we remembered it a little better. In addition, despite the known inflation and economic situation, prices are inhumanely raised. We even had a children's portion twice, a total of 8 Kölsch, an espresso and a total of four short shots and paid just under €170. Per schnitzel, normal portion, €34. Simply intense. A pity. The store is doing really well and prices like that simply don't have to be in this less upscale area.

I don’t think this place needs a review as it’s been serving the same high quality food for over 50 years. Nevertheless, YOU CANNOT GO TO KOLN AND NOT TRY ONE OF THEIR SCHNITZELS!!! Also, great atmosphere and amazing staff!

As always, super tasty. Went to dinner with the company and had the schnitzel variation. You can get a little bit of everything and try it out. I like the pork very much. Everything came super quickly even though it was full. The waitress was also very nice and served us well.

Grandma Kleinmann is simply iconic! Do I need to say more about it? I do not think so... ...except maybe: every 2nd and 4th Saturday there is DISCO night with a really cool DJ. It is worth it!

I've been to Grandma Kleinmann's several times and the food is always outstanding, from the salad to the side dishes to the schnitzels (so far I've tested the pork and veal versions with different sauces). On our last visit we only got a table late in the evening and were apparently (?) forgotten, which is why we had to wait almost an hour for our food. A small downer that the taste and quality of the schnitzel quickly made us forget. Although you pay a little more for your schnitzel than in various breweries, for example, you get something really good for your money. I've never had better schnitzel anywhere!

The best schnitzels we had and that's what a Düsseldorfer who goes out to eat in Cologne says!!! We waited over 2 months for a table of 6 people and it was 100% worth it! The food was super fresh and delicious, the staff was very attentive. The prices these days are more than fair for the quality! Only the ambience is a bit old.

Grandma Kleinmann never disappoints! Been back for a long time and now I don't eat meat. Luckily, the vegetarian and vegan versions are just as unbeatably delicious 😍 Also big praise to the staff: my girlfriend and I were treated in a derogatory way by male visitors twice and both times the staff reacted immediately and independently. Even if it was just a small, unpleasant aside that other people might not have noticed, the reaction left a big impression on us, thank you!

One of the best addresses for eating schnitzel in Kölle. The meat is pounded perfectly thin, the breading is bubbly and crispy and the size is huge. The taste is super delicious. The Kölsch is well chilled and the service is attentive and friendly. Nice young team. The ambience “Cologne pub in Veedels style”. So exactly as it should be. I'm already looking forward to the next schnitzel.

I now often go to the schnitzel window at lunchtime and it is always so delicious! The chicken fricassee in particular is extremely tasty! The prices aren't particularly cheap, but you know where the meat comes from! Very sympathic!

After reserving our table two months ago, we finally went to Grandma Kleinmann's again today. THE address in Cologne for schnitzel. Simply nice, huge portions and very nice service. Insider tip: Great desserts too! Especially the Creme Bruleé is highly recommended.

I can really HIGHLY recommend Grandma Kleinmann. The schnitzel is incredibly tasty, not pounded too thin, the staff was very friendly and correct! Would go back at any time. I came especially from Düsseldorf, that means something, right? ;)

A very nice, rustic Cologne original. The schnitzels, we had veal and pork, are perfect. The potato and cucumber salad is a highlight. The service is attentive, friendly and “in a good mood”. It should be reserved. We are already looking forward to our next visit!

The pork chops here are huge and there are many kinds. You can choose a flavor and ask them for Hanabero hot sauce. In addition to Schnitzel, you can choose pork chop or veal steak. There are also cheese and celery options, slow variety My personal favorite is Jägerschnitzel

Great celery schnitzel is available from Grandma Kleinmann! The portions are generous and there is a good selection of different options. The staff is very nice and on the ball. I recommend making a reservation if you want to sit inside.

Sehr charmantes, sympathisches Lokal! Ich liebe die Gestaltung des Innenraumes mit den vielen Bildern von u.a. Stammgästen, die Einrichtung mit dunklem Holz und selbst als Touristin stellte sich direkt Wohnzimmer-Wohlfühlatmosphäre ein. Service Personal ist super nett, das Essen mega lecker und kommt in wirklich großen Portionen. Für mich als Vegetarierin sehr erfreulich, dass es einfach JEDES Schnitzel auch in einer Käse- bzw. Sellerievarianze gibt, das gibt's leider echt selten. Nette Gespräche mit Stammgästen rundete den Abend ab und wir sind wirklich happy und ultra satt nach Hause gegangen.

Not suitable for allergy sufferers! Were here yesterday. The staff was very friendly (except for the waiter in the kitchen) and didn't serve very tasty Kölsch. As an allergy sufferer, I asked the waiter what was in the potato salad before ordering. The response I got was “What do you want, I don’t have time!” receive. When the food came, the first thing I tried was the schnitzel. After half a schnitzel, I realized that the potato salad unfortunately contained mustard seeds. As an allergy sufferer, I didn't feel comfortable here. I definitely don't understand the hype. If you want a Wiener Schnitzel, there are better alternatives.

The place to be for all Schnitzel lovers. You have only Schnitzel in the menu basically and you can choose between veal, pork, cheese (vegetarian option) or celery (vegan option). Then you choose the sauce to out on top. All served with the local beer. The location is very nice, staff helpful. I had a wonderful time and I highly recommend this place.

Schnitzel Jäger decreased, price absolutely inelastic and unjustified! Even an institution is not allowed to discriminate against its guests in terms of price. The beer is not worth €2.30 for 0.2l Sünner Kölsch! There is better quality in the Cologne art of brewing. We won't be coming back, as you'll notice on Saturday evening at 8 p.m.: the walk-in customers are already stalling!

At Grandma Kleinmann's it's typically Kölsch. An insider restaurant. So of course it was very well attended and we had to wait almost an hour in one place at 6 p.m. on a Tuesday evening. But we were able to have a drink at the bar in the meantime. In any case, advance reservation is highly recommended. The waiters and waitresses are all very friendly and in a good mood. We had a pork schnitzel with fries. It was a huge portion, even the small dish (in the photo at the front, the normal portion at the back) was sufficient. Very tasty, also the fries. Before that there was a side salad, which was also very tasty and a lot. The price was high, but it's just a place of worship. 😉
