Had a wait when we showed up without a reservation but the waitress was nice and had an open outdoor table for us quickly under a heat lamp. Very friendly service throughout and the Schnitzel!? So great. We're not Schnitzel noobs but this was fantastic. Starting out with a little salad with a very tasty sunflower seed topped salad, the Schnitzel came and was about the size of my head but with wonderful light batter. We had a filled Kölner Schnitzer and the spicy Oma Schnitzel which had a spicy habanero sauce. So good and so rare in Germany to really have you mouth be on fire! Would come back here if we're back in town.

As always, a delight. Four of us went during the week without a reservation, and it worked out perfectly. Friendly service, and the schnitzel was top-notch, as always.

Top tip. You can't get a more authentic Cologne experience, and the food was good too. However, it was already completely full when it opened at 5:00 PM. We got the last seat at the bar.

Huge portion, extremely tasty, good beer, very good service, didn't even wait 5 minutes for a table, completely fired up, so the place is a 10/10, but it costs a lot of money and is definitely worth it

The food was absolutely delicious. The service was very polite and attentive, which was a real plus. I highly recommend it if you like schnitzel. The only downside was the view into the men's restroom, which was constantly opening, but there's not much you can do about that 😂

Great place for dinner, the Best snichtzel in Town. Whenever I go to Köln it is a must-visit place to eat. The bartender is always in a good mood.

Oma's is always worth a visit. Consistent quality, great menu, friendly staff; never disappoints!

We waited half an hour to be seated (two people). If you're going with more than two, be sure to book in advance. The food is incredible, both the main course and the side dishes, with generous portions (they're happy to provide bags and trays for leftovers; use them and don't throw anything away; everything tastes good even reheated the next day!). The service is provided by young, friendly, and efficient waiters. The price is fair considering the quantity and quality. Definitely recommended.

Robustly made, not an insider tip—Grandma Kleinmann is already far too well-known for that. Absolutely worth it, but you can't stop in for a meal on the spur of the moment. Reservations recommended.

The portion was simply unbelievably huge and definitely too much for me. Unfortunately, the taste wasn't anything special either, so I'd rather have a smaller portion at a lower price.

We came here with high expectations because of the many positive reviews – but were unfortunately disappointed. The schnitzel tasted disappointing; both the meat and the breading were really weak for the price. I wouldn't recommend the hunter's sauce either; it takes some getting used to. Anyone who knows and appreciates good schnitzel is probably in the wrong place, despite its reputation. The ambiance outside was also disappointing: crooked tables and chairs, a dirty street full of graffiti (but that's not the place's fault), and overall uninviting. The next surprise came with the drinks – we ordered a Coke without looking at the menu first (our mistake) and got a Sinalco instead. A definite minus for me. The positive thing is definitely the size of the schnitzel; you'll definitely be full. The side salad, on the other hand, was very oily; a fresh, light salad would have been a much better choice. Unfortunately, the cold, dried-out fried potatoes were disastrous... All in all, unfortunately, not an experience I would recommend as a "tourist."

Really good, tasty, and large schnitzel. Unfortunately, due to the large number of guests, it was a bit crowded, loud, and a bit cramped. The service was friendly, but very relaxed.

A warm, friendly atmosphere. Delicious food and homemade flavors are a must-try.

The food was excellent, and we were happy to wait for three-quarters of an hour for it. The food was all fresh, and the schnitzels were simply amazing and a good size. The restaurant itself has a very quaint design and appealed to me. Our server was unfortunately a bit inexperienced. There were also some errors in the calculation, which weren't subsequently corrected. We considered it an additional tip and checked it off, but of course, it wasn't a positive. Nevertheless, a lovely restaurant with a good concept and truly excellent food! The most important restaurant criterion was absolutely met.

So, I had the celery schnitzel, which unfortunately wasn't quite my cup of tea. It had a sweet taste, and I'd recommend ordering one of the others :) The potato salad, side salad, and the other dishes were absolutely fantastic, and you can sit outside with a lovely view of the busy street.

A real gem! Authentic ambiance with lots of old pictures on the walls. Very attentive and friendly staff. The schnitzels are really large and delicious. Advance reservations are highly recommended – but there are times when you can drop in spontaneously, but then you'll have to wait, which you can also spend at the counter. Highly recommended!

Since we have a child, I've always been a bit hesitant about going to restaurants. However, I've always wanted to go to Oma Kleinmann's, so the child "had" to come with me. I was so pleasantly surprised – by the entire team and the atmosphere, as well as by my child – it was so lovely and delicious, too ;) No one made us feel like a few flying crayons were a problem, and everyone was really very attentive.

Without a doubt one of the two best restaurants in this area. Exceptional Rhine cuisine. Service is a bit slow.

Wow, just wow, authentic, portions were huge. food was delicious, my two boys (8 and 10) loved it as well, which is saying something from these junk food monsters!

We went there spontaneously on my birthday and were lucky. We got a table for two. If you want to be on the safe side, you should make a reservation! A fantastic team and simply lovely to sit on Zülpicher and watch the hustle and bustle.

So good and we were enjoying it too much we forgot to take pictures. We got 2 orders of the veal schnitzel—one with pepper sauce and one with the mushroom sauce. The mushroom sauce was my favorite, but pepper sauce was so flavorful & also good. If you’re having a hard time picking, I suggest trying both to see which one you like better because it’s def a preference thing :) I also suggest getting the small portion or a “normal” one to share because they are pretty large cutlets. The small one might have actually been too much for me, but I still ate it all because it was SO DELICIOUS! We were lucky & found empty seats at the bar, where we ate, but it seems like the best thing to do here is get a reservation ahead of time. A local recommended this place to us. 10/10 :)

Probably the best schnitzel in Cologne! The portions are huge, so definitely come hungry. I tried the Holländer Schnitzel and it was absolutely delicious – crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The sauces were also very tasty and matched the schnitzel really well. The ambiance and atmosphere are cozy and lively, which makes the experience even better. One fun detail: instead of Kölsch beer, I tried their version with Coke – a surprisingly nice twist. A little tip: don’t go without a reservation, as it gets really crowded. But once you’re in, you’ll see why – totally worth it!

Super delicious, rustic restaurant in the heart of Cologne.

The schnitzels were outstanding – no complaints there! But they were also very expensive compared to other breweries, even a bit too expensive for pork, in my opinion. The service was also super friendly, but a bit overwhelmed at times. Unfortunately, no one was available by phone for a reservation for days, and the online booking process doesn't work very well at all. So, aside from the food, there's still room for improvement.

The cheese schnitzels are a 10/10, and the portions are huge! We always share a plate between the two of us and are completely full afterward. The service was so incredibly friendly; it's always a pleasure to eat here. The Kölsch beer is also highly recommended!

If you're craving a great schnitzel, this is the place to go in Cologne. They have a fantastic selection of sauces to go with it. The schnitzel itself was heavenly, and the fried potatoes are just what you need. John Paul's service was spot on. Come by; you'll be more than satisfied for the price and have a wonderful evening!

The best schnitzel in Cologne. The service is excellent. The schnitzels are legendary. It's also worth noting that you can order cheese or celery schnitzel. So vegans and vegetarians are also catered for. During the week, you can try it on the off chance, but on weekends, you should definitely make a reservation. The process is also simplified, as it can be done easily via the website. Just make sure to indicate in the comments that you would like to reserve a table inside and not outside (if that's what you prefer). We will recommend it to everyone and look forward to our next visit!

Very good, rustic schnitzel restaurant. Huge portions, perfectly cooked meat. I remembered the fried potatoes being different the last time I was there years ago. This time they were more like fried potato wedges. No culinary finesse, but if you like schnitzel, this is the place for you.

I have had schnitzel all across Germany as it is one of my favourite mainland European dishes; non compare to the schnitzel I had here. The pork was moist, the breadcrumb was perfectly cooked, and the potato salad was delicious. Even the salad they provide beforehand was perfect, with pine nuts providing a fantastic contrast to the sweet salad flavour. The best addition? The service. A bit of a wait for a table as the locals piled in (usually a good sign for a tourist when the locals like the place), but we were seated as soon as there was space. And then, we were catered for throughout by a fantastic pair of servers (Maureen and Johann) who were attentive and genuinely caring about our experience. Following the best food I've eaten in a long time, we were given a sample of some schnapps to taste which went down a treat. Thank you so much for a fantastic introduction to the warm hospitality Cologne has to offer, it has been an absolute pleasure.

The schnitzel was very good and the staff were friendly. We waited 5 minutes without a reservation (on a Monday evening in August). The salad starter was also special, very fresh and perfect. Highly recommended!

I had celebrated my birthday at Oma. Why? because I love schnitzels. And if its a huge schnitzel, even better. We shared one for two, and could barely finish it. The kartoffel (potatoes) are phenomenal, impeccable, too. Service is decent, despite being busy they find the time to speak to you and check in. The senf (mustard) compliments the food well enough. You may be asked to wait as its busy, but you can order drinks from the bar and sit on a temporary table outside. A lovely atmosphere in a nice neighborhood.

The card terminals did not work and I had to wait 1.5h for a friend of mine to bring me some cash so I could pay. At the end they did not charge me for the drinks and even invited my friend and I a beer. The servers are very attentive and make you feel welcome.

The prices are average, the food is very good and super tasty, be careful, but the portions are very large, the ambiance is very nice, it should be the first address you want to eat in Cologne for a good schnitzel

Oma Kleinmann's serves truly unique schnitzels – whether vegetarian, pork, or veal, there's something for everyone. They come with a fresh salad. A friend had the cheese spaetzle – also excellent! The ambiance is rustic and cozy, and the service is super friendly. We were lucky and snagged a table outside on the spur of the moment, even though there's usually a bit of a wait. Highly recommended – we'll definitely be back!

My daughter and I were there last Friday and can absolutely recommend Oma Kleinmann!! We felt completely at home and will definitely come back when we're back in Cologne!! Absolutely rustic ambiance with a feel-good factor, super friendly, lovely, warm, and fun staff, and the food was a delight!!! The Chili Lilli schnitzel with fried potatoes and salad was simply delicious and huge. I also recommend the strawberry tequila. My daughter loved it, too. We were given power banks, and even though it was super busy, there was always someone there for us. I recommend making a reservation. We didn't have a reservation, but even then, they did everything for us and we were allowed to sit at the large table with two lovely ladies. I can only give you so much praise!! Keep up the good work!! Oma Kleinmann would be so proud of you!!!

At Bei Oma Kleinman, the schnitzel portions are quite large; two people can easily share a plate. The place is pleasant and the ambiance is nice. The staff is very friendly. However, the schnitzel doesn't quite meet expectations in terms of flavor, and the sauces are average.

We've been there countless times now, and it's always a delight. The schnitzels, including the veggie ones, the sauces, the side dishes, the Kölsch beer, the schnapps. Everything is simply delicious and authentic.

Come here each time I visit Cologne. Hands down one of the best schnitzels. Highly recommend the Budapest. They offer a Klein portion which is enough food for most adults.

An excellent restaurant located south of Colonia in a lively area. It's an old building with an outdoor terrace. We ordered the house specialty, spectacular breaded pork steaks, accompanied by salad and potatoes. Washed down with some very light and good beers.

The original Wiener Schnitzel with side dishes tasted delicious, and the portions were quite generous. Two of us had the schnitzel with side dishes, along with a (small) fries, and that was more than enough for us. We especially liked the service. Super friendly and very attentive. Thank you very much!
