Bänksken in Hattingen

Tolles Ambiente, aber liebloses Essen. Bruscetta war geschmacklos mit viel zu grobgehackten Tomaten und Trockenkräutern statt frischem Basilikum. Der Boden der Pizza wirkte wie frittiert. Früher war das mal der beste Italiener der Stadt, jetzt ist es weit davon entfernt.

Sehr leckeres und vielseitiges Essen, dass toll vom Service serviert wird.

Schönes Restaurant mitten in der Hattinger Altstadt, in einem wirklich gemütlichen alten Fachwerkhaus. Die Bedienung war freundlich und aufmerksam, auch das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis ist insgesamt okay. Ich war bereits vor einigen Jahren schon einmal dort und hatte das Restaurant damals deutlich besser in Erinnerung. Das Essen war damals wirklich top, weshalb ich mich eigentlich auf den erneuten Besuch gefreut hatte. Diesmal hatte ich Bruschetta sowie die Pizza Vulcano. Beim Bruschetta waren die Tomaten leider sehr grob geschnitten, dadurch etwas schwierig zu essen und optisch eher mäßig angerichtet. Die Pizza war geschmacklich okay, aber recht klein. Die Salami wirkte eher wie günstige Discounter-Ware und der Teig war ziemlich zäh. Besonders den Rand mit dem Messer zu schneiden war nicht gerade einfach. Insgesamt weiterhin eine schöne Location in der Altstadt, beim Essen hätte ich mir aber wieder die Qualität von früher gewünscht.

Wir waren mit Freunden dort, besser könnte es nicht sein. Von der Reservierung bis zum Abschied eine glatte 1 mit Sternchen. Jederzeit gerne wieder. Danke für den tollen Abend

Eine sehr gute Empfehlung. Die Fischsuppe ist phänomenal, nicht diese Fischrestepampe die mit Mehl angedickt ist. Hier sind wertige Fischstückchen und andere Meeresfrüchte drin, der Geschmack hervorragen. Focaccia dazu schmeckt auch exzellent. Carpaccio war auch top. Preisleistungsverhältnis fair

Wir hatten am 17.01.2026 einen Tisch für vier Personen reserviert und hatten uns auf einen gemeinsamen Abend gefreut. Als wir im Bänksken ankamen, waren alle Tische belegt. Auf die Frage ob wir unseren reservierten Tisch bekommen könnten antwortete der Servicemitarbeiter einsilbig und unfreundlich „ ja, gleich“ . Kurzum… wir wurden weiterhin übersehen und nach einer halben Stunde Wartezeit hatten wir genug von diesem arroganten Verhalten uns gegenüber. Wir haben dann anschließend noch sehr gut und günstig im „El Chispon „gegessen und hatten doch noch einen richtig schönen Abend.

Das Restaurant liegt mitten in der Altstadt von Hattingen in einen schönen alten Fachwerkhaus, ich finde das Ambiente Top. Die Bedienung war super freundlich nun zu Essen es hat allen am Tisch super geschmeckt Preis Leistung war auch Top. Weiter so wir sehen uns wieder.

Wenn man viele Mitarbeiter seit 30+ Jahren kennt ist man Familie, wenn etwas Mal nicht wie erwartet ist ,bitte ansprechen ,denn man möchte zufriedene Kunden die evtl. wie in meinem Fall später mehr werden .

Neue, korrigierte Bewertung vom 3.12.25: wie in jedem jahr besuchen wir mit Sohn, Schwiegertochter und deren Eltern den Weihnachtsmarkt und anschließend das Restaurant Bänksken. Meine letzte Bewertung aus 2020 weiter unten, diese musste ich heute verändern, Gründe wie folgt: Der Tisch wurde schon vor ca 4 Wochen für 6 Personen reserviert. Bei Ankunft bekamen wir einen Tisch hinter dem Eingang, bei dem eine der 6 Personen hinter einem Holzpfosten gesessen hätte. Wie baten darum, einen anderen Tisch zu bekommen, in der oberen Etage war viel Platz. Wir konnten nach oben, die dortige Kellnerin schien not amused. Unser Keller nahm die Bestellung auf, incl einer ersten Flasche Wein (Lugana). Bei der zweiten Flasche wechselten wir zum Pinot Grigio, da der Lugana eher nichtssagend war. Der Kellner brachte neue Gläser für die 4 Weintrinker, wobei wir von uns aus sagten, dass das nicht notwendig ist. Darauf wurde uns in die noch teils mit Lugana gefüllten Gläsern der Pinot dazu geschüttet. Das ging fix und wir waren perplex. Ein absolutes no go Das Essen hat allen gut geschmeckt, daher die 3 Punkte für die Küche. Der Kellner kam irgendwann wieder, räumte mit Getöse 4 Teller ab, von denen die gegessen hatten. Die anderen beiden aßen noch ...... Abräumen ohne jeglichen Kommentar oder Nachfrage, zweites No-Go. Beim nächsten Mal am Tisch räumte er die letzten beiden Teller ab und die leere Flasche Pinot. Zu keinem Zeitpunkt wurde gefragt, ob wir noch Wein oder Kaffee oder einen Nachtisch bestellen möchten. Wie sind in vielen Jahren immer sehr zufrieden gewesen um Bänksken. Heute haben wir uns sehr über den Service geärgert, der bislang in all den Jahren gut war. Beim nächsten Mal werden wir uns nach langer Zeit mal eine Alternative suchen. Fazit heute: Essen gut und lecker, Service wirklich schlecht. Bewertung 5* aus 2020: Sehr leckere Vorspeisen, klasse Pasta und Pizza. Tolles Ambiente im Fachwerkhaus. Empfehlenswert

Wir sind mit Freunden am Weihnachtsmarkt mittags hier eingekehrt und waren sehr begeistert. Alles war sehr schmackhaft und die Portionen gut bemessen. Hier stimmte das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis.

Sehr schönes Restaurant im Herzen von Hattingen! Gemütliches Ambiente und aufmerksamer Service. Der Hauswein war richtig gut und passt perfekt zum Essen. Besonders empfehlenswert: die Gnocchi mit Trüffelsauce – einfach köstlich! Frisch zubereitet, cremig und aromatisch. Man merkt, dass hier mit Liebe gekocht wird. Preise sind fair für die Qualität, die man bekommt. Ideal für einen gemütlichen Abend mit Freunden oder zu zweit. Komme gerne wieder – klare Empfehlung!

The tomatoes have declined considerably, sometimes making it worse. The menu has been the same for years. It's simply boring now.

Located in the heart of Hattingen, this Italian restaurant is housed in a beautiful half-timbered house, tastefully decorated with great photos of famous Italians like Sophia Loren and Pavarotti. The menu is varied, and it takes a while to decide on a pasta dish. There were four of us there, and we ordered delicious bruschetta and a glass of red wine, both truly delicious. They also brought four pieces of freshly baked baguette drizzled with olive oil and herbs, super fresh and delicious. The gnocchi with truffle cream and the tagliatelle with beef fillet tips and mushrooms were absolute highlights. Instead of the tagliatelle, we chose penne with salmon. The dish was good, but not outstanding. My agnolotti with eggplant filling and buffalo mozzarella, on the other hand, unfortunately didn't live up to my expectations: It was too tomato-heavy, so you could barely taste the other ingredients. The tiramisu was a bit too soft and could have been soaked in espresso for a bit less time, while the panna cotta, on the other hand, tasted excellent, wonderfully creamy, not too sweet, and clearly the number one dessert.

The food was lukewarm. Nothing special in terms of taste. The price-performance ratio wasn't right. The waiter wanted to clear the table even though one of us was still eating. He had strange manners.

They'll wait until you leave the restaurant, even if many tables are empty. As a young, fairly well-earning couple, we've experienced this several times. At city festivals or similar events, a separate menu is issued, and all dishes and drinks are a few euros more expensive.

Yeah, I'm not rating anything this time, maybe the many mix-ups of orders and so on were just a stupid coincidence.

Great restaurant – friendly and fast service, and the food was delicious! We had tagliatelle with salmon and tagliatelle with chanterelle mushrooms and meat. We highly recommend this restaurant!

Credit where credit is due! We were there for the first time today, and with three people, we had the full menu, each with a different dish so we could try something different. The food was excellent, and since I travel to Italy often, I can speak for myself! The service was good and not "pretentious." The atmosphere was pleasant too! We're from Burscheid, but we'll gladly make the trip again! Great, and thanks to the Bänksken team! 👍🤗

Beautiful place with very friendly and polite people. I wholeheartedly recommend coming to eat at Banksken because you won't regret it, everything is delicious.

I was there for a company party. The food was simply fantastic and the setting was incredibly well-prepared. I found the service a little disorganized, but that's easily overlooked because overall it was really good.

This is my third time here. I've eaten three different pasta dishes, and I was very satisfied each time. The restaurant was always busy, which speaks volumes about the quality of the food. The service was friendly and attentive. Whenever I'm in Hattingen, I'll be happy to stop here for a break. Addendum: I ate here again yesterday, and it was very good again.

Very unfriendly staff! We were there on May 30th and wanted a drink. Never again in this place!

Hospitality is something else entirely! We ordered drinks first, which arrived relatively quickly. In the meantime, we ordered our food. It was busy, and we waited patiently. After almost an hour, we asked if we'd been forgotten. The waiter who had taken our order couldn't remember. Instead of apologizing, they argued. I don't imagine Italian friendliness to be anything other than that. The food eventually arrived, but the mood was ruined... and waiting forever for food with children wasn't much fun either... in the end, a friendly "Sorry" would have helped... but I don't recommend this restaurant as it is!

Nice ambiance, but the pizza is rather average. It lacks oregano and the typical Italian flavor. The pasta was only lukewarm and lacked that flavor. I could have cooked it myself. Service was okay, although the waiters seemed very hectic even though the place wasn't full.

I was there today with my parents and was very pleasantly surprised. The staff was very friendly, the menu was good and clear. The food was very, very tasty. The atmosphere was fantastic; I felt very comfortable. The decor was very nice. I can only recommend it.

The Bänksken is a real gem in Hattingen! As soon as you enter the restaurant you can feel the pleasant, inviting atmosphere - stylish but still cozy. The ambience is lovingly designed and ensures that you feel comfortable from the first moment. The service is first class: attentive, friendly and always with a smile. You can immediately tell that there are real hosts at work here who care about the well-being of their guests. The food is simply outstanding. Each dish was not only a highlight in terms of taste, but also beautifully presented visually. Fresh ingredients, perfect preparation and authentic flavors make every dish an experience. Whether for a special occasion or simply a nice evening – Bänsken is an absolute recommendation. We'll definitely be back.

We had dinner at Bänsken. Great staff, very friendly, made us feel very good. Unfortunately, the starters were not Italian, but rather covered in a nasty sauce. And the pizza was very dry and burnt, no taste, tastes like a frozen pizza. It's a shame, we were very disappointed.

Authentic Italian cuisine. We have eaten here many times. Fish and seafood are particularly recommended here, as is the homemade pasta. The boys and girls in the kitchen are really good at it. The staff is always very friendly and attentive, we always feel very comfortable here. Stay as you are.

Bänksen, located directly at the French Market, is at its best with delicious pizza and an upscale but relaxed atmosphere! The service is friendly and accommodating, especially towards children and dogs (direct bowl, etc.), but occasionally you have to wait longer until the food you ordered arrives on the table.

I was only in Hattingen for one night and had dinner at Bänksken. A very cozy pizzeria with fair prices, attentive service and delicious pizza! Gladly again!

We have been going there for our anniversary and wedding anniversary for 17 years. We love the food. It's a bit pricey but worth every cent. Fresh, good Italian cuisine cooked with love that you rarely find anymore. The restaurant is rustic and cozy and spreads over two small floors. We like it best at the top. It can sometimes be a little less busy downstairs when the restaurant is full. But you can also sit outside, which is also nice in the courtyard. The long-standing, loyal staff is always very friendly and accommodating. We will continue to enjoy going there on special occasions and recommend the beef fillet and fish dishes.

When the weather was sunny, we ate outside. I chose very tasty baked fennel in Gorgonzola sauce as an antipasti. I haven't had such delicious antipasti in a long time, great. The main course, agnolotti filled with eggplant in a light tomato sauce, couldn't keep up, but still tasted good. The language of the plates and the arrangement were very rustic. The service was very quick and friendly. Our dog was able to come with us and we parked at the town hall, from where it was only a few minutes walk to the restaurant.

A cozy Italian restaurant in the middle of Hattingen city center. The service is without exception extremely friendly, attentive and reserved. We got a table for two without a reservation. The service was quick, the atmosphere was restless, we sat outside and people were constantly walking around us, staff, guests, very restless, that really bothered me, there's no enjoyment there, that's how you eat because you're hungry, but not to go out. I liked my food, my brother didn't, the plate went back almost full, but that wasn't noticed.

Although both the city and the restaurant were busy on this Saturday lunchtime, we managed to get a table for the three of us even without registering in advance. The pizza was very, very tasty, even if the base was a bit soft from the toppings. The homemade pasta was a poem, also thanks to the sauces. We would like to come again.

My favorite restaurant!!! Authentic Italian cuisine with a great fixed menu and an attractive daily menu. Inside there is a really nice, cozy half-timbered ambience and outside, when the weather is nice, you get a holiday feeling in Hattingen's old town, with a wide variety of seating options. The children can then play and move around in the pedestrian zone. The new wine shop is also just right for a spontaneous glass. The service is warm, hard-working, competent and child-friendly. And the Saltimbocca lives up to its name! Unfortunately, the large, mixed antipasti plate is no longer available. That's too bad. Please offer again! The appetizer plate used to always be an integral part of our visits and would be ideal, especially in combination with the wine shop, to persuade those who were undecided to have a glass of wine and a treat in between that we would be happy to share with each other. Overall, an absolute recommendation!!!

Yesterday for lunch we ate delicious canneloni filled with spinach and ricotta.

We were there on the evening of February 9th. The food was ok but the price doesn't correspond to the quality. The waitress service was very unprofessional. She was rude and put a fork on a plate with a lot of sauce when she was putting the dishes away.

The ambience has always been nice and is now being renovated. 👍 We always feel welcome there, the food is great and even small special requests are happy to be accommodated. We drive there specifically from Wuppertal and Hasslinghausen. They are also child-friendly and we will continue to be regular customers.

Sind am 04.01.23 dort essen gewesen, wir hatten unter anderem die Tagliatelle Salmone bestellt. Schon während des Verzehrs ist uns ein komischer Geschmack aufgefallen. 5 Stunden später konnten wir die Symptome einer Lebensmittelvergiftung ertragen. Nicht zu empfehlen.

Ja... Italienische Küche. Wir hatten Gnocchi in Trüffelcreme und Bandnudeln mit Salciccia von der Tageskarte. Die leichte Fenchelnote der Wurst haut mich um und der Trüffel der selbstgemachten Gnocchi ist umwerfend. Unbedingt Platz reservieren und auch eine der leckeren Pizzas probieren... Dazu einen Pinot Grigio! Salute!

Wir haben Vorspeisen verkostet, diese waren in Ordnung, aber nicht überragend. Man wartet etwas länger und sollte Zeit mitbringen.

Das Essen war gut und der Service freundlich. Wir hatten auch einen ruhigen Platz in einer Ecke. Vorallem das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt hier.

Leider wurde unsere Tischreservierung nicht im Buch eingetragen. Es wurde aber schnell eine Lösung gefunden.

Wir besuchten das Italienische Restaurant an einem Freitagabend nach telefonischer vor Reservierung. Vor Ort wurden wir zu unseren Plätzen gebracht und konnten draußen sehr angenehm und mit Blick auf die Fußgängerzone sitzen. Der Service war stets bemüht, ließ sich aber selten blicken. Ich hasse es, wenn ich in einem Lokal um ein zweites Getränk betteln muss. Die Pizza die ich hatte war in Ordnung, hat mich aber nicht vom Hocker gehauen. Die Größe war für den hohen Preis leider lächerlich. Auch die Gnocchi und Ravioli Portionen waren klein und teuer. Die Zutaten sowie die Qualität waren gut und es war optisch hübsch angerichtet. Jedoch haben wir viel bezahlt und das Lokal hungrig verlassen.

Es war Freitag und wir hatten keinen Tisch bestellt. Wir bekamen ein Getränk des Hauses und ein paar Minuten später auch einen Tisch. Vorbestellen ist sicher besser, denn das Essen hat eine super Qualität (selbst gemachten Ravioli👌) und das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis stimmt! Dementsprechend ist es immer gut besucht.
