Banh Mi Stable in Berlin

Such a store should not be supported. Unfortunately the service is very, very bad. This was our third time here and every time we meet the rude shop owner. The four of us were there twice and ordered 6 Banh My. My friend ordered something else next door and we ate in the store and even asked beforehand if it was ok if my friend ordered something next door and we ordered 6 Banh My here, she agreed and paid. As soon as we sat down and she gave us the banh mys and saw my friend with another meal, we were immediately thrown out and told that we weren't allowed to eat here, an outrage!!! Greedy and disrespectful woman.

Affordable, delicious and with vegan&vegan options!! Also has nice views of the Fernsehturm from the terrace. Just a great place for a quick meal.

As two big Banh Mi fans, we finally made it to the stable - and were not disappointed. The location looks very nice, even if it was unfortunately lacking in cleanliness. Almost all tables were crumbled and partly smeared, although in our opinion the service was not very demanding. We had a banh mi with pork and one with an omelet. Both came in a wonderful bread, one of the best things we've ever had as Banh Mi in Berlin! Great. The herbs and sauces were delicious, exactly as it should be. The crispy pork belly was a poem. At 6.50 both unbeatable in terms of price and performance. I didn't find the service that great, almost a little unfriendly, but the food is awesome! 🤤🤤🤤 definitely try this out!

Unfortunately it has become a hipster hype shop with an extremely long waiting time. Previously a small, friendly and cheap shop next door. Well, 5m next to it was pure mass processing, it was getting more and more expensive, the other day I waited almost 50 MINUTES for a sandwich. NO ONE in this store speaks German, at least communication with the employees works. The food is and remains delicious

I can only recommend it to anyone looking for top Bahn Mi's. Cheap, quickly made Bahn Mi's that are really tasty. Also good for to go. The only negative thing for me is that you can only pay with cash, but otherwise everything is great. 👍🏼

Was running for the toilet within 2hrs of my visit. Bread for the Bahn Mi was nice but my gf said the pork smelt off and she may have been right.

Price and performance very good, but have now experienced poor service several times. The entire restaurant was full, but there were only 3-4 sauces in total. When we asked, there wasn't any more, so we had to steal the sauce from somewhere after every second bite. In addition to only offering cash payment, not all money is accepted. Preferably banknotes, with small change it becomes critical if it is less than 50 cents. She still wanted to charge us an additional bag, which we politely declined because we wanted to eat it while walking. Then the price was added.

The place is designed to look traditional and Vietnamese with its wooden chairs and tables and further decorations. We ordered the Banh Mi pork and the Banh Mi with chicken. Unfortunately, we found the bread to be quite thick and hard to eat/swallow. The seasoning on the meat was good but the meat itself was quite dry.

Very tasty Banh Mi, had it with an omelette and thought it was really good and for €6.50 it was still a fair price. The star deduction is for the service, you could be a little nicer at the counter.

Unfortunately, I can't understand the hype surrounding this restaurant. Price-wise for the portion, totally okay. But what you get is far from an authentic Banh Mi. Bread and Pork Banh Mi are closer to a German sandwich that has a bit of an Asian twist. And the Chicken Banh Mi is a huge disappointment. It's always a bad sign when you have to add Siracha to get any flavor. What about tofu, pate, carrots, chiles, Vietnamese sausage, or all the other flavorful ingredients that are missing here? Unfortunately, I've had much better Banh Mi's in various other European cities.

Fresh, crunchy, steaming hot bread that sandwiches a deliciously savoury and crunchy crispy pork belly. Absolutely love the banh mi here and for the price you cannot beat it!

Top Banh Mi. They actually have lots of seating inside and outside with a quite nice atmosphere. Chicken Peanut sate highly recommended.

Prices increased, quality and taste decreased. Luckily they got out of that dark kitchen and the dark cold sitting room and moved into the adjoining rooms. I'm glad that my children have now seen through the current lack of quality and no longer want to eat there.

A simple cozy place to come for a vietnamese baguette and a drink. Its a quieter area with a gelato around the corner. I can recommend the baguettes and for a coffee to spend the lunchtime. Either crispy pork or egg is very good! There are lots of bicyclists and family’s walking there outside. Nothing much for to say as its too simple to fail!

Great place for a lunch break. Really great price. Worth a detour in terms of taste. Here you will find the perfect meal for your lunch break. If you are very hungry it is best to eat 1.5 sandwiches. But one will also fill you up.

Calling out the very rude woman behind the counter. We were in line to pay, and she wouldn't let us use the bathroom until we actually paid. And then we asked for tap water (which our neighbors got for free, as is required by law) and they refused, insisting that we pay for tap water. RUUUUUDE!

Great authentic Vietnamese sandwiches!

We came with our children, of course we had food, the children ordered an ice cream in a cup next door and sat down with us. The owners came straight away and sent our children away...!

Top price/performance ratio. The sandwich bread was nice and crunchy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. I had the chicken version and it tasted great with the other ingredients. The room is also really charming and you also have the option to sit outside. It's especially great if you don't have much time at lunchtime because you can quickly get something freshly prepared here.

Hi. Bahn Mi Stable has been my go to Bhan Mi place for 6 years+. Loved the place, by far the best bhan Mi i have ever had...would always recommend to people. However i went yesterday and have to say how disappointed we were....things have changed. The size of the baguette has been reduced by around 25/30% in addition way less grilled pork meat and the price has gone up. The price increase is totally fine...but why of why reduce the portion size so much???? now it just feels like all the other generic bahn mi places in mitte. Hopefully the format will change back one day???Oh well..time to find a new joint.

Overhyped in my opinion. Banh mi not authentic at all. The bread tastes like some standard supermarket baguette. Also no pate! Check out Mama Van or Saveur de Banh Mi for a real banh mi.

Have been visiting the store for several years. Price-performance ratio is absolutely right here. The Bahn Mi’s are delicious, the ingredients are fresh and everything is prepared quickly. All in all, highly recommended! Since they moved two houses away, there is finally seating outside.

Bahn Mi so good, I am thinking whether I can justify a ICE Ticket from Hamburg to Berlin just to go and grab the sandwich. Roasted pork was my personal favourite with that crispy skin, succulent pork, fresh herbs and crunchy pickles.

Following the recommendation of a relative and during my stay in Berlin, I had lunch today in this restaurant with friends. The food was tasty, I ordered a “grilled pork”. The pork was crispy despite the generous sauces. The vegetable pickles were well seasoned. Besides, as a Parisian, I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the bread. The BIG downside was the welcome, I don't want to call it racism but it's clear that the welcome given to my friends and I was absolutely deplorable. The oldest woman on the staff was very unpleasant, didn't even say hello to us, didn't speak in complete sentences, made her annoyance strongly felt when we asked her for information on the composition of the products, etc. In short, an interaction quite uncomfortable and disastrous, we were clearly not welcome. Despite all this, we still decided to eat there, and had the opportunity to see the difference in the welcome given to “locals” or non-black tourists. It's a shame and this is the reason why I clearly will not recommend this establishment to those around me or to anyone for that matter.

Casher seemed annoyed with us for no apparent reason. Be careful about this place especially if you have a darker skin tone.

Good fast spot to pick up a banh mi. It was super busy when we got there, like 8 orders before us, but it was still fairly fast. The pork banh mi was tasty but the crispy skin coupled with the bun left my mouth a little scratched afterward. The veggies and flavor was great!

Very, very tasty Banh Mi, and affordable. Actually great - but one issue really leaves a bad aftertaste: no card payment and usually no correct invoice. Even when asked, the bill is only given with absolute reluctance. The catering companies that pay their taxes honestly are the losers.

Remember to add sriracha yourself! Bread is nice and crusty and chewy. I would have liked more peanut and less mayo.

Maybe the best sandwich in Berlin. 6.50 for grilled pork banh mi on baguette approved by my French buddy. Unbeatable value. They also have chicken, tofu, or omelette banh mi. But you should get the pork 😉

They only take cash. Staff is effective so don’t even bother them with special orders or anything, because you will most likely be disappointed. Simple baguette/sandwich.Few choices and wonderful fresh sweet yuzu tea (it was perfect balanced, not too sweet) Food was 6 € for a baguette with tofu. And 3,50 € for sweet yuzu. This place is for vegetarians, meat eaters and vegans. But it should be avoided if you are hungry and gluten intolerant. This is like a much simpler version of the Subway brand with an Asian touch. Good choice to teach yourself to eat Vietnamese food palette, but not get overwhelmed.

If you are searching for a real authentic Banh Mi in Berlin, you should not miss this Place. Bread is fluffy and crunchy, would always recommend the pork belly, but actially all optional are reall good!

We had the bahn mi with both grilled pork & chicken , I liked chicken more. There is adequate seating area , and service was quick.We have dined in and done take away as well and I would advise to eat the bahn mi , immediately when it is served else the baguette gets very hard and it just isnt the same experience. Overall ,would definitely eat there again for a quick lunch /dinner . Easy on the wallet too.

I am very disappointed that this restaurant does not accept credit card payments. In an age where electronic payments are the norm, it is inconceivable to have to find an ATM to pay for your meal. This creates real inconvenience for customers and ruins the experience. I will not return until this situation is corrected.

I had a chicken saté bahn mi, at €6,50 reasonably priced and tasty, although the peanut sauce was lacking flavor. the bread was nice for a sandwich. drinks around €3, sandwich served at the counter wrapped in paper, cash only. the interior is quite nice, but the rest of the experience is not inviting to take your time and enjoy, seems catered to quick and on-the-go.

We usually eat Bánh mì at "Mama Vân", since Banh Mi Stable offers sandwiches with crispy pork, we visited there as a family. Ambiance: Great! You are greeted by lots of green plants. The furniture, walls and ceiling are mostly made of brown wood. The restaurant is simple and yet very nicely decorated. There are plenty of seats inside and outside. The tables are relatively far apart, so there is no crowding and you don't have to sit in a crowd. After ordering at the counter, you receive a number that is displayed on the wall as soon as the sandwiches are ready and you can pick them up. I find this very practical, modern and reminds me a little of the numbering at offices 😂 The Banh Mi are prepared quickly, so you don't have to wait long. However, they are only handed over wrapped in paper instead of on a pretty bamboo tray like you see in the photos online. The sandwiches tasted good, but not authentic. You can tell this immediately from the rolls, which tasted and looked like baked rolls. Traditional Banh Mi look more like baguettes and have a completely different consistency. Crispy on the outside, hollow on the inside so they can be stuffed. I also missed the traditional mayonnaise. I could taste a lot of Maggi seasoning in my tofu sandwich. The Banh Mi Stable was a unique experience for me, because the "Mama Vân" is much better and more authentic.

Man wird von sehr vielen Grünpflanzen begrüßt. Das Mobiliar, Wände und Decke besteht größtenteils aus braunem Holz. Das Restaurant ist simple und doch sehr hübsch dekoriert. Es gibt viele Sitzplätze drinnen wie draußen. Die Tische stehen relativ weit voneinander entfernt, sodass es hier kein Gedrängel gibt und man nicht zusammengefercht sitzen muss. Nach der Bestellung am Tresen erhält man eine Nummer, die an der Wand angezeigt wird, sobald die Sandwiches fertig und man sie abholen kann. Dies finde ich sehr praktisch, modern und erinnert mich ein wenig an die Nummernvergabe bei Ämtern 😂 Die Banh Mi werden zügig zubereitet, sodass man nicht lange warten muss. Allerdings werden sie nur in Papier eingewickelt übergeben anstatt auf einem hübschen Bambustablett, so wie man es auf online auf den Fotos sieht. Die Sandwiches schmeckten gut, jedoch nicht authentisch. Das merkt man sofort an den Brötchen, bei denen es wie Aufbackbrötchen schmeckten und aussahen. Traditionelle Banh Mi sehen eher wie Baguettes aus, und sind von der Konsistenz her komplett anders. Außen knusprig, innen hohl, damit sie gefüllt werden können. Auch fehlte mir hier die traditionelle Mayonnaise. In meinem Sandwich mit Tofu konnte ich viel Maggi-Würze herausschmecken. Das Banh Mi Stable war für mich ein einmaliges Erlebnis, denn das "Mama Vân" ist deutlich besser und authentischer.

Pretty decent Bahn Mi shop with industrial interior design. Food is good, the pork and chicken Bahn Mi are both delicious, and service is quick. There are also egg and tofu options as well. Only four items on the menu so you won’t feel overwhelmed and don’t know what to order. Plenty of seating available. Would definitely come back for another visit.

These people do something simple, but they do it amazingly well. Without a doubt one of the best banh mis in Berlin. It used to be a hole in the wall, which has now evolved to a restaurant. This to me is the testament, that these people give us what we need: A banh mi filled with juicy meet, nicely pickled radish, the crunchiest baguette and drowning in fragrant coriander. Will be back for more !

Supreme sandwiches, best I ever had. No exaggeration. The crusty and flavourful meat, the sauce, amount of veggies - I found them perfectly balanced. Unprecedented taste, and very consistent with every bite. I found pork belly version tastier than chicken :) Lady behind the bar sends signals not being flexible, hints of coldness.

Probably the best Banh Mi place in Berlin, but is it 100% authentic? Not really. I've had a lot of Banh Mis in Vietnam and I find this one too overloaded. I know, ze Germans want more, more, more for their money but I prefer refined taste. I could hardly finish my bread. Overall it was also missing intensity, the paté was almost not there. A smile while being served would also help the overall rating.
