BABA'S KITCHEN in Schönberg (Holstein)

We came across Baba's Kitchen based on the good reviews and were eager to try it out. I have to honestly say, we weren't disappointed. My wife had a chicken doner kebab and I had a veal doner kebab. Both the chicken and the veal were very well seasoned, not dry, and very tasty. The ingredients and sauces were also excellent. The fries from the doner kebab were just as fries should be. All in all, it was a very good meal, with a very reasonable price, too. We were completely satisfied and can only recommend Baba's Kitchen. By the way...the service staff is also very friendly and accommodating, even taking special requests into account when preparing the food. We would definitely come back.

Bad service, you wait 10 minutes to be able to order and we ignore the fact that there is no one in line in front of you, the phone rings and the order is taken straight away, I've never experienced anything like that before and I'm really disappointed that no value is placed on personal customer contact, the laughing stock of the shop, we left without placing an order and went to the other kebab! Not recommended!!

We went there for the first time today. And we were all absolutely thrilled. Despite the crowds, the food moved really quickly, and the staff were still very friendly. The doner bread was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The meat, both veal and chicken, was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The fries were cooked to perfection. We'll definitely be back.

The food was good, but there were strange disproportions between a large meal and a small one. Surly service, lack of respect for the customer.

An absolute delight! The kebab here is simply the best I've ever had. The meat is wonderfully juicy and perfectly seasoned. The homemade bread is particularly impressive – it is fresh, fluffy and goes perfectly with the meat. The sauces are also homemade and give the kebab a great, unique touch. If you are looking for a real taste experience, you should definitely stop by here!

The salads are finely chopped, dough for kebabs/pizza etc. are freshly prepared every day. The selection of sauces is also very good and very tasty. I have tried a wide variety of dishes so far and have always been very satisfied and full afterwards. The staff is super nice and friendly and prepares the food quickly and thoroughly. We were here for the first time (twice). Friendly advice and putting together the meal together and then enjoying the food served from fresh ingredients, a culinary delight. We sat in the winter garden, it was a bit chilly, but the top food made up for it. Negative: We live 600km away when not on vacation, otherwise we would be here every week :-)

The taste is a 10 out of 10. Eating there regularly for 2 years. Of course, tastes are different, but if your bread is freshly prepared in front of you and fresh lemon is squeezed over the Dürum/Kebab, then you know that you are relying on quality. Please keep it up!!!

Unfortunately I only discovered it on the last day of my vacation. It's definitely one - if not the best Dürüm kebab I've ever eaten! Flatbreads and Dürüm are baked in-house!

Freshly baked bread, crunchy, juicy salad, homemade sauces and of course high-quality skewers! Every bite promises an interesting and exciting ratio of the individual ingredients and triggers a firework of flavors in the mouth, which is really a rarity with conventional kebabs. But nothing is conventional here! The boss himself stands behind the counter almost around the clock and reads your wishes from your lips. Together with his wife and a few employees (who are indispensable during the usual Sturm und Drang phases), Baba's Kitchen forms a familiar and very competent team. The service leaves little to be desired. This shop also sets standards in terms of quality, whether lahmacun, dürüm or kebab, the bread or flatbread is prepared in front of you and baked in the oven. Overall, the boss attaches great importance to craftsmanship, so it's incredibly fun to try out the really extensive menu from top to bottom. Here's another poorly kept secret: The falafel are of course also made by hand and in a Falafel Dürüm they develop an incredibly round and pleasant taste, so veggies also get their money's worth here! The BEST kebab shop in Schleswig-Holstein! Who am I to say something like that? During my extensive research on the topic of kebab in Northern Germany (SH), there was hardly a hotspot for kebab lovers that I left unvisited. From Lübeck via Norderstedt, Kiel and Neumünster, to just outside Flensburg, I looked for my personal favorite. I found it in Schönberg! I am now a permanent member of the customer base and continue to receive outstanding feedback on my recommendations. WARNING: Feelings of happiness can be addictive. It was my first time eating at Baba's with my wife. The kebab/ kebab plate was absolutely delicious. The fries were just a dream. Crispy, hot and perfectly seasoned. The staff was very friendly and very polite. The prices are not overpriced. Cleanliness and hygiene in the restaurant are simply top notch. If you want to have a delicious meal, this restaurant is more than worth recommending.

Very large portions and very tasty

Today there were 4 of us eating in Baba's kitchen. There was 1 vegetarian main course each for the daughter and me (falafel and feta schnitzel) and 1 Baba's plate each for the husband and son. The portions are good, the salad is fresh and the meat is very tasty. The selection of sauces is excellent. The rice and couscous are also recommended. We will come back again on this vacation. Good price/performance ratio!

Four of us visited for lunch today while on vacation and the food is simply outstanding - a real taste explosion. Food is freshly prepared in the stone oven, salad is very fresh and the cocktail sauce is also highly recommended. All in all: absolute recommendation!!!

Went here with 5 people. Food was good and the selection was very large. Everyone will find something here. The selection of drinks is ok, but unfortunately only non-alcoholic beer - yes, you can do without it, but that would have been nice.

My friend Ani and I arrived at Babas Kitchen hungry and looking forward to a delicious plate of kebab. Without paying attention to the opening times, we carried our hungry bodies into the store and wanted to order. Although the skewers were already empty and some things had already been cleaned, the super friendly boss conjured up a large plate of kebab and a pizza for us. Our rescue ! We had been eating in "other" kebab shops in Schönberg for a long time and today, through a recommendation and a coincidence, we went to BABA'S KITCHEN for the first time. The location is awesome and super mega. Unbelievable: fries made from fresh potatoes, homemade sauces, great. We come specifically from Laboe because there is no good kebab shop in Laboe. BABA'S shines with a great ambience, super friendly service and great food at a low price. This makes eating out fun again. What's particularly great is that as a guest you don't have to endure any animals whining or yapping at you. THAT is now standard in restaurants in Germany, which is one reason why many people no longer go to restaurants to eat. I spontaneously ordered 2 large pizzas. The ordering and pickup went smoothly and very friendly! The pizzas themselves were very tasty. The thick, bulky edge bothered me. If you want a Neapolitan pizza style, the base has to be wafer-thin and the edge has to be very airy. Otherwise, I recommend wasting less dough and making the edge much thinner. Then you can enjoy it too. He is actually very massive! Unfortunately I can't manage to try the kebab anymore. I'm sure I'm missing something nice here!🥹

Overall, highly recommended. The owners are very friendly. The store is clean and the toilet was also completely hygienic. The best thing is the food on offer. The kebab is optionally offered with fried Mediterranean vegetables in addition to the normal topping (Berlin style). We visited the restaurant and were pleased that it offers kebabs. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our visit as the service was extremely unfriendly. The chef preparing the meal was sweating and touching his face so I had to ask him to wash his hands. Even though we were hungry and had no other options in the area, we decided to eat here. The restaurant was self-service, which was fine for us, but the tone of the staff was very unfriendly. While the dishes were being prepared they were annoyed when we were seated and the young man, presumably the owner, was annoyed that he had to keep asking us what we would like to order. We were also annoyed and left cutlery and plates on the table. Even then he didn't even wish us a good day and apparently expected us to clear the table ourselves. I will never visit this restaurant again even if I starve.

Simply DELICIOUS!!! I ate 3 different dishes within a few days and all 3 were GREAT! (BABAS Falafel Dürüm, Dürüm Doner and BABAS Burger) You can taste that it is made with love. Everything homemade, fresh and DELICIOUS! The bread is freshly baked in the pizza oven before preparation. Homemade falafel. Crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside! 😋 I will definitely go there again. Unfortunately I haven't been here long enough, otherwise I would really try everything on the menu. So, if you are in Schönberg, it is a must to eat at BABAS.

The store could definitely get 4-5 stars. Unfortunately, by 7:30 p.m. there is usually no salad, rice, cucumbers, etc. left. Nothing has ever been recut. If that had happened once it wouldn't be a problem, I was there 5 times and couldn't get a kebab plate with rice once and had to switch to kebab (without salad) every time.. if you could manage that, mashallah

So what can I say? As a native of Berlin, I'm used to good kebab, but I've been disappointed more than once in Schleswig-Holstein. But BABA'S KITCHEN more than surprised me. Too expensive for what you get. The innkeepers were very upset when we questioned the price: 2 small burgers, 2 small fries, 2 x small bowls of mayonnaise and 1 small bottle of Schwipschwap - 20.50 euros -!!!

We were here for the first time, very nice staff, everything was clean and tidy, the great thing, apart from the incredibly good taste of our large kebab, is the fact that everything is made here ourselves. Fresh homemade bread, fresh salad, homemade sauces etc... We come from Flensburg and we have never had a kebab in Flensburg that tastes so good. If you are here and fancy a kebab, we strongly recommend that you go here and enjoy the food. We will come back.
