We were here for lunch and ordered the liver and banana cutlery with gyros and papas. The portions were very large and the food was delicious. We'd love to come back again…

First of all: Unfortunately, the ambiance can't be given more than 5 stars! With great attention to detail, very inviting, and quaintly decorated! Absolutely top-notch! The food: Just like the ambiance, simply superb! Generous portions and truly delicious! We had veal liver and baked bifteki. The veal liver was so tender, and with the braised, slightly sweet onions, it was a dream! Just like the bifteki – juicy and fluffy with a delicious Metaxa sauce. Conclusion: Of all the Greek restaurants we've been to (mainly in Berlin and Brandenburg), the Poseidon in Schönberg is by far the best! In every respect!

Anytime again. Whenever I'm back from Stuttgart, I'll go there again.

I've been eating there since this restaurant opened, and I still love it to this day! The service is fantastic! They're very fast, super friendly, and the ouzo at the beginning and end of the drink is really special (and for the little ones, they offer juice instead so they can join in the toast). The food has always been delicious. The price might be off-putting for some, but I'd say it's worth it!

We spontaneously stopped by for dinner – the restaurant was empty except for one other table outside – we arrived around 8 p.m. The welcome was very friendly and the server really nice! The outdoor area is beautifully designed. The food: Unfortunately, in our opinion, the price/performance ratio isn't right at all. The appetizers (Gigantes and Baked Zucchini) were okay. We didn't really enjoy the main course – Bifteki Metaxa and the gyro and liver platter. The liver tasted strongly of defrosted beef, the gyro was quite dry, and the bifteki tasted like "standard fare." We paid €75 for two people with a drink each. It's a shame, because the beer garden is a really nice place to linger.

More than just delicious food Very friendly staff

A vacation in Schleswig-Holstein – and for us, that always includes a visit to a Greek restaurant! After unfortunately not having the best experiences recently – especially in the Stralsund area – our anticipation was rather muted this time. But we were pleasantly surprised and filled with new hope! From the outside, the restaurant looks quite unassuming, but inside, a cozy, typically Greek ambiance awaits. Soft sounds from Greece accompanied us, and upon arrival, we were warmly greeted and shown to a quiet table – always within reach of the attentive staff, without ever seeming intrusive. The first plus point didn't take long to arrive: Before everything had even been properly arranged at the table, the ouzo was on the table – the fastest we've ever been served! We later learned that a glass is automatically poured as soon as a guest enters. Clever – and very hospitable! The overall service was also top-notch: The menus were presented with pleasant restraint, the first drink orders were taken, and then everything was served with a relaxed serenity. Always attentive, always keeping an eye on the glasses, and always friendly – ​​that's what you want on vacation. We also really enjoyed the food: the meal was delicious, plentiful, and fresh. The appetizer plate with olives and pepperoni is especially recommended! In conclusion: A little piece of Greece in the far north – we'd love to come back! We can wholeheartedly recommend this Greek restaurant to everyone.

The food was OK, but the gyro wasn't that great. The bifteki was a bit dry. Unfortunately, there was only a dollop of tzatziki with the meal; reordering costs €5.60! The ketchup I ordered (I asked how much, it's by the portion) was a packet of Heinz ketchup on a plate. Absolutely unacceptable at these prices! That's it for me this year with eating out, no more desire...

The food is truly delicious, the ambiance a bit dated but still pleasant. The service on site is good and friendly, but the phone reservation was very unfriendly. I briefly considered canceling the reservation – that's simply not possible, and they need to improve this.

Despite the predominantly positive reviews, I'd like to put them into perspective from our personal perspective. The dishes on offer (starters and gyros) were of good quality, but the small starters in particular weren't convincing in terms of value for money, and the advice and (temporary?) service could also be improved. A wheat beer for €6.50 is indicative of the price level, which also extends to the food. Perhaps a season ticket for tourists—never mind, we'll definitely be back in Schönberg, but not to this restaurant.

Super delicious Greek food, very good service. Highly recommended. And as for the salad, which was described as chopped in one review here: We found the cut very pleasant, especially the salad was superbly seasoned, with a nice acidity. Everything tasted very, very good. Thumbs up!

This evening, three of us – two adults and one child – dined at Poseidon. We reserved a table an hour in advance and had a wonderful spot in a cozy, quiet seating area. We received a very friendly welcome and attentive service. After the sumptuous, delicious appetizers (taramas, tzatziki, and garlic bread), we enjoyed one of the best Greek meals ever. The meat – gyros, chicken breast, and bifteki – was juicy and perfectly grilled, the fries and rice were excellent, and the Metaxa sauce was delicious. The service was attentive, friendly, and courteous. We highly recommend this place. A very successful evening, many thanks to the Poseidon team.

I'm in love! I have 20 years of experience as a chef myself. A good friend and his family owned two Greek restaurants for almost 40 years, where I was a regular for over 10 years. Since those restaurants closed for family reasons, I missed authentic Greek dishes. I was repeatedly disappointed. Not here! What's offered here is second to none! We were warmly welcomed and sat down in the beautiful outdoor area and immediately felt at home. In our opinion, very professional and passionate. When the appetizer arrived and we tried it, we were pleasantly surprised again. Lovingly presented and prepared. Delicious! Simply delicious and noticeably homemade. When the main course arrived, it happened. What I had missed for many years in terms of quality and taste was even surpassed. Goosebumps... I would love to pack up the restaurant and take it home with me. Homemade gyros, bifteki juicy and perfectly seasoned, and perfectly grilled. Coleslaw to put in. 11 guests on May 30, 2025 In a nutshell: You couldn't feel more uncomfortable in a restaurant. From the very beginning, the waitress made us feel unwelcome. The evening consisted of nothing but unnecessary arguments. We've never experienced anything like this before. An olive oil that had expired in 2022 underscored how "valuable" a guest is here. The lack of card payment was the appropriate conclusion.

We travel a lot and visit different Greek restaurants at least every two weeks. Here yesterday for the first time. There was a small coleslaw (chopped like it came from a Thermomix), a bell pepper, a slice of cucumber, and a quarter of a tomato. We had previously asked for a seniors' plate because the portions are often too large for us. The owner declined, saying he needs to make a profit. Okay, after the small salad, we thought maybe we should have ordered something better 😉 My husband had gyros, which was good. (Seniors' plate 🙄🙈) I ordered gyros and liver. One small, thick slice of liver covered a small portion of gyros. The liver was cut countless times on both sides and looked almost like minced meat on a silk thread. Was there a way to hide tendons? I was very hungry, the seasoning was good, and I ate it. When the owner asked us if we liked it, I honestly answered that I'd never been served liver like that before. I thought I'd be honest so he could improve it. What happened was, he argued with me arrogantly and wasn't exactly Friendly. I should have said something right away; it's pointless afterwards. Why does he ask then? Oh, the tzatziki had a strange consistency. There was no yogurt in it. Conclusion: small amount, snack quality at high prices. Draft beer was very good. Unfortunately, only cash payment is possible, and unfortunately, this wasn't announced in advance. We'll never be back!! Addendum: Dear Poseidon Team, It's a shame that you respond to criticism with personal attacks and false insinuations. Empty plates aren't automatically proof of good food. Sometimes you just eat out of hunger and politeness. We paid normally and didn't ask for anything. Your claims are simply false! I was just sharing my honest opinion. Anyone who reacts so excessively to this shows that they can't handle criticism. Every opinion should help you move forward, and feedback becomes fine-tuning. With that in mind, all the best. C. It's always nice to come here. For two reasons. First, it reminds me of the old days. I used to go there often. Second, just like last year, it's very good. Staff very friendly, food very good and plentiful. The price is absolutely reasonable. The open-plan area is worth mentioning, but I also find it very cozy inside. I'll be back!

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant. The staff's behavior is completely unprofessional and, at times, aggressive. Criticism, even if expressed in a friendly and constructive manner, was met with defensiveness and unfriendliness, both in person and in responses to Google reviews. This is not how you treat guests. Definitely not a place I will visit again. The customer is king, that's not how it works for me.

We had a lovely evening with very good food in this restaurant. Unfortunately, when we presented the bill we were told that only cash payment was possible. When asked, we were given all sorts of flimsy reasons why this is so. Very annoying because we had to withdraw money from the nearby bank, which cost us €4.95. Nowhere in the restaurant, not even when making a reservation by telephone, was it stated that card payment was not possible here. I find this very annoying and unfortunately leaves a bitter aftertaste. It's a shame, customer orientation looks different.

Very friendly staff, small but nice atmosphere, our 3 dogs were allowed into the restaurant, no guest felt disturbed. We went to dinner at Poseidon Schönberg today on December 28th, 2024. And we were both very satisfied with the starter (grilled sheep's cheese) and also the main course (lamb shanks with broad beans in tomato sauce 👌🏼👌🏼👍🏼 and baked bifteki in Metaxa sauce). And I'm always a bit skeptical about lamb dishes, but here it was really perfect. Kudos to the chef 👌🏼👍🏼 But the service was also really good, very attentive and interested in how the guest liked it 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 Thank you We'd love to come back

There were four of us who ate there today as a family. The order was taken quickly and the staff was friendly. The waiting time for the food was normal, the portion size was average and everything tasted good, which is what is important when visiting a restaurant. When we wanted to pay, an employee brought us the bill. We wanted to redeem a voucher and pay the remaining difference in cash. Then the employee said that the voucher could not be redeemed because the invoice had already been written or printed out. She then tried to explain to us why it didn't work. I then said, OK, then write a new invoice, cancel the “old” one and then we will redeem the voucher. But that wouldn't work because it's already booked. Then the boss came at my request and said it wouldn't work. We should have been told before we billed that a voucher was to be redeemed, but we were not informed of this anywhere, neither on a notice board nor on the website or a note in the voucher itself. This is poorly communicated. The boss told us that the buyer of the voucher has to tell the recipient exactly this. Please ?! A little hint somewhere would save trouble. Both "sides" were now visibly annoyed and then the boss's statement came relatively abruptly: "If it's such a problem for you, then I'll just pay the value of the voucher out of my own pocket." Actually a nice offer, even though the value of the voucher is already in circulation with the company. So nothing out of your own pocket. A little annoyed, we wanted to pay with the EC card (without a voucher - the money still passes through the company as a plus) but that didn't work either. No information here either, at least not on the map or on the website. Luckily the last bit of cash in my wallet was enough. If we hadn't had enough cash with us, this text would most likely have been a lot longer. So please fix that.

Without a reservation, the 4 of us got a nice table. We were served quickly and friendly. We adults got an ouzo, but the kids got nothing. Something a little non-alcoholic would have been nice - we know it from other restaurants. We had 4 drinks and 4 main courses and paid €102 for them. The price/performance ratio is absolutely not right here. The portions are simply too small (1 example: 2 small thin halved slices of liver with a scoop of rice and a small handful of fries were more reminiscent of a senior citizen's plate - just like the coleslaw with a quarter of a tomato and a slice of cucumber. None of us were full. That The taste of the food was ok, but without any wow effect. It was more reminiscent of snack food - that's our opinion, but in Schönberg this seems to work as the restaurant is always busy.

Wanted to eat with 5 people. Unfortunately we didn't reserve. We have never been rejected so arrogantly and stupidly. The owner's arrogant answer confirms my first impression. There is definitely an opportunity to inform guests in a respectful and polite way that a reservation is necessary. But the Greek still has a lot to learn, as he expressly points out in other commentaries that he is Greek. Other restaurant operators take a different approach with holidaymakers who spontaneously decide to stop by a restaurant and therefore don't think about making a reservation. By the way, restaurant operators who know and think about this situation have a notice on their website that draws attention to the fact that a reservation is required. Enjoy your work.

Been here for the first time today, the staff is very, very friendly. The food is perfect and very tasty.
