BABA Pizza Grill in Düsseldorf

If you're really hungry and the selection is limited, you might end up at Baba's Pizza Grill 1. The doner kebab here is solid – but nothing more. The meat could be more crispy more often; at times, it seems more like it was cut from a skewer in "snooze mode." The feta cheese remains a real mystery: it doesn't come in convenient cubes, but rather as a large piece directly into the doner kebab. It's meant well, but it contradicts all doner logic – you can only eat it with acrobatic bite management. The place still scores points: The staff are friendly, card payments are accepted (a real plus in the snack world!), and they also serve red cabbage, which isn't a given. All in all, a typical "lunchtime doner": filling, doesn't spoil anything, but doesn't conjure up any culinary leaps of joy either. If you're looking for a gourmet highlight, you should move on – if you just need something quick to eat, you'll find it here.

I ordered it the first time and immediately got food poisoning. I thought it was something else I'd eaten. So I gave the store a second chance. The second time, I received a completely wrong delivery, and this time I got severe stomach cramps and diarrhea. I'll never eat that rotten meat again.

I ordered the two-chicken doner kebab via Uber Eats. They probably thought that with such offers, you have to use meat that's been sitting around for hours. The meat in my mouth was so hard that it gave me stomach problems. When I asked the restaurant what that was all about and whether they sell food so conscientiously, I didn't get a proper answer. My colleague probably didn't understand me at all. Therefore, my advice is that anyone who wants to order from here shouldn't and doesn't have to try the doner kebab. It saves you a few trips to the bathroom.

I've eaten a lot of doner kebabs—and I'm actually quite picky. This doner is, by definition, a standard doner, but it's incredibly enjoyable to eat and the quality is always consistent. I always eat veal doner. I highly recommend it!

The food was so-so. Rather disappointing is the fact that you order four items and receive three. According to my phone call, the Lieferando driver was to blame. No new food was delivered, with the words "You get your money back from Lieferando." Well, that was the first and last time.

Beware of rip-offs: Students: They write a student discount on the menu. If you want to pay, they'll tell you after the meal. If you then want to pay after the meal with your student ID, the guy tells you, "No, you have to say it earlier, it's fuller now." Just a total rip-off...

This is THE place to get doner if you are a student. I had an internship in Dusseldorf for 2 months, and my roommate and I visited here many times to get cheap and filling food. Last year, they had a student discount, allowing you to get a doner tasche or box for 5.50 euros, if you present a valid ID. That's absolutely absurd! It was the best price in the area and right across the Auf'm Hennekamp train stop. As mentioned I usually got the student discount doner box, but the first time I came, I got the schnitzel and tried the fries. All fantastic. The space indoors is small, but there is occasionally outdoor seating. The uncles who work here (one of them is Baba, I assume) are also very nice. When it was time to return to the States, my roommate and I wrote them a Google-translated farewell note on a napkin. Hope you guys remember us. We miss you!

I rate it on the basis that there is a classic standard kebab here that you remember 100 times from before, but it was really good and there is nothing wrong with it. I ate a veal kebab with everything except spicy, it was solid and good, it tasted good and the kebab was really well filled, especially with a lot of meat. Salad, sauce, standard, but good for a quick meal. It's not a homemade Yaprak skewer or homemade bread, etc., but that wasn't a bad thing at the time because the product as such was completely fine and met expectations well at that moment. The price was also completely reasonable. The shop is small but very chic with its wood and stone look. Lots of people shop for takeaway here. There are one or two tables to eat there, and when the temperatures are warm there are some places with tables and benches outside. Otherwise everything is clean and tidy. The store is very easy to reach as trams and buses stop here everywhere. The store also offers snack dishes such as fries, currywurst and pizza. The staff are very friendly. I don't recommend anyone to eat there. I wanted a currywurst and got Turkish sausage with cocktail sauce and rancid fries. Meanwhile there was constant screaming in the kitchen. 😡

We ate on site. My friend ordered currywurst. They didn't have any and then secretly went behind us to the kiosk or something and got a Turkish sausage. Which are then served with the softest fries in the world with “curry sauce” aka cocktail sauce. This was truly the most illegal dish I have ever seen. My German ancestors were turning in their graves. My Dürum also came 15 dishes before my friends' courts. Everything didn't make any sense and everything tasted bad. Ayran also looked moldy, but I didn't get food poisoning, which made me happy.

The boss is very unfriendly and the food is also inedible! I cannot recommend this store!

Alt: Doner didn't convince me here because of the low quality of the meat. The Spieß Dürüm are wonderful for that. Nice guys, but sometimes a bit grim-looking. Lahmacun is made fresh in a stone oven. Recommendation ultimately.

There is usually a lot to do and the employees are a bit taciturn and therefore seem a bit unfriendly. But that's perfectly fine. The kebab with lots of sauce always tastes the same and always good. One of the most solid kebabs in Düsseldorf. There's little you can do wrong.

I ordered Pide with meat and life with cheese! It was so bad!!! Our meal was cold! Also so salty! I cannot believe I paid for this bad food!

The food we ordered was a complete disgrace. At first only half was delivered. When the store was called, the Lieferando driver was accused of eating the remaining items that were missing. After a short discussion with the branch, he then went off again to kindly pick up the remaining things there. The pizza was carelessly topped and tasted of nothing. The fries were dripping with fat and half raw. The sauce with it doesn't taste like anything either. The only good thing about the meal was the kebab meat, as the branch probably has a good supplier for it. The sauces we ordered were not the ones we ordered. The currywurst had probably been lying around for a few hours. It was wrinkled and tasted very old.

Such a bad load!! Food inedible and employees don't know customer service! I explicitly pointed out no tomatoes and no onions!!!!! And what do I get?? tomatoes and onions. Meat was hard and not edible. Never again !!

An absolute disgrace!!!!! I used the delivery service and when the food finally arrived I noticed that the order was incomplete. I called the grill house and informed them that the order was incomplete. The rude gentleman on the phone said no and was firmly convinced that the order had completely left the store and that the driver had probably stolen my wrap and there was nothing he could do for me. So customer service is ZERO! Food was so-so. So never again!!!

The veal kebab is a typical sausage kebab, often also called Berlin kebab. Tasty and good in terms of taste and consistency. The sauces are mayonnaise based. Personally, I like it more classic with yogurt sauce and spicy paste. But the sauces are ok. For me the best “Berliner Döner” in Düsseldorf.

Chicken standard kebab. Nice staff, value for money is right - €6.50 is good value. Size medium. I think discounts for schoolchildren and students are very nice.

Yesterday I ordered a falafel pocket pizza and fries to pick up. I was able to pick up the food on time, but the pizza was much smaller than stated... the fries were soaked from the Styrofoam package and the falafel bag was smaller than usual with 1 tomato/cucumber salad and 2 falafel. Dishonorably little and absolutely baked bread... Since last night I've had the worst diarrhea in years... I can't get off the toilet anymore, I want my money back

The “rotisserie” is always very tasty (considering it’s not a kebab), crispy and fresh! The pizza is also very tasty. The owner is always friendly and quick. Card payment is possible here with all cards :)

BABA ist einfach der beste von der Qualität! Seit Jahren immer bei der anderen Dönerbude an der Himmelgeister gekauft. Aber hier ist es genauso gut! Die Jungs verstehen ihr Handwerk mit dem Döner und meine persönliche Empfehlung für alle Pizza Liebhaber: Baba Pizza mit extra Fleisch die sättigt ordentlich! Erste Pizza mit Drehspießfleisch in Düsseldorf die mir sehr gut gefallen hat 👍

Ich weiß nicht woran es liegt aber ich habe da in den letzten drei Monaten zwei Döner gegessen und jedesmal Magenprobleme bekommen. Ob es an mir liegt oder an der Dönerbude kann ich nicht sagen. Bei allen anderen Dönerbuden hatte ich das nicht.

Das Essen hat mich persönlich leider nicht überzeugt: es war sehr fertig und es gab nur Mayonnaise oder eine sehr scharfe Sauce zur Auswahl. Der Service war ok und in dem Laden was es einfach leider höllisch heiß.

Döner lecker und gut belegt. Die Pizzabrötchen waren leider innen noch roh und deshalb nicht essbar. Vielleicht hatten wir nur Pech, werden denen noch eine letzte Chance geben.

Es wurden 2 Leute vor mir dran genommen, weshalb meine Pommes zu hart wurden, da der Mitarbeiter sie vergessen hatte. Die Currywurst ist keine Currywurst, sondern geschnittene Frikandel. Er wusste, dass ich draußen esse, dennoch musste ich nach dem Besteck fragen. Bei der Hitze ist es verständlich schlecht gelaunt zu sein aber ab dem Punkt fragte ich mich wie so jemand überhaupt arbeiten darf. Nie wieder.

Update August 2022: Mein Herz ist gebrochen. Baba Döner hat komplett sein Gesicht verloren. Der Prä-Corona Döner, durch mich und Freunde so angepriesen, ist verloren gegangen. Das Brot so weich wie ein Schwamm. Die Ratio aus Soße, Fleisch und Salat stimmt auch nicht mehr. Früher hätten wir zwei Döner nacheinander essen können (oft passiert), heute tun wir uns mit nur einem schwer.. obwohl das Endstück immer das beste ist, bzw. war. Ist durch diese ganzen Lieferando- und Wolt-Bestellungen nicht mehr die Zeit da, um einen perfekten Döner machen zu wollen? Oder ist die Leidenschaft und das Feuer einfach so weg? Immerhin sind die Angestellten nach wie vor super nett und sympathisch. Ende 2021: 3/5* Der neue "Geschwister-Imbiss" des Baba Döner's um die Ecke. Hier gibt es jedoch auch Grillgerichte, Pizza und vieles mehr. Drehspieß-Tasche gibt es ab 4,50€, was schon sehr knackig ist, wenn man überlegt was Döner (jetzt Drehspieß-Tasche) bei Baba noch vor einiger Zeit gekostet haben. Das investierte Geld muss bestimmt wieder reingeholt werden. Immerhin gibt es hier auch Stempelkarten. Geschmacklich alles super

Lieferung 1 Stern Essen 3 Sterne Also das ist ist okay muss man nicht nochmal machen aber die Lieferung geht gar nicht. Wir haben fast 2 Stunden gewartet. Der Lieferant ist an uns vorbeigefahren.

Leckeres Essen, moderate Preise und akzeptabler Mindestbestellwert! Leider befindet sich der Grill in den Fängen von Lieferando! D.h. ein Teil des verdienten Geldes geht a. d. Personalausbeuter Liefer.....! Direkt im Grill bestellen zum Liefern, geht nicht. Schade

Der Laden macht die besten Pommes in ganz Düsseldorf. Döner etc. ist auch gut, auch wenn das Fleisch ziemlich fertig ist.
