The food is excellent. Sitting outside or in the restaurant is recommended. If you sit inside the mall, you'll be watched from above. We arrived in the evening, and it was quite busy. However, two main courses were forgotten. However, we quickly received replacements.

I walk past this restaurant very often and can confirm that the bucket/vase on the street has been broken for at least 6 months and hasn't been disposed of or replaced!!!! Today I walked past there again with my toddler, and it's continuing to break. PLEASE remove this cutting hazard!! Children are curious and don't see this danger!!! Then I'll delete my comment as well.

We actually come here quite often and really enjoy coming from far away after a day of shopping. The food always tastes good, but unfortunately, the service is usually lacking. As soon as the manager isn't there, nothing happens in the restaurant. We've already left twice after waiting for about 20-30 minutes and not even receiving our menus. The staff wandered aimlessly around and ignored us, and this was on a Thursday evening when there wasn't much going on. We always look forward to our meal, but it simply can't be that we get served one time and then not at all the next. We won't be back anytime soon, as we were truly disappointed. It's a real shame; they really need to get this under control.

Authentic Mexican cuisine. Largest tequila map in Germany. Friendly staff Very good daily specials for every taste. Every dish (quesadillas, burrito, ...) is also available as a vegetarian version and of course with different meat versions. New Mexican street food: Tortillas like in Mexico, small and made from corn.

Good selection of dishes, with a taste that's very European-friendly, and friendly service. The ambiance is reminiscent of a Mexican cantina. Value for money is okay. Be sure to make a reservation in the evening.

We recently visited this restaurant and ordered burritos and tacos. Overall, it was tasty, but there was too much cabbage, and the texture of the tortilla wasn't ideal. However, as a chef, I'm satisfied with the flavor balance.

Friday evening the store was completely full. That actually only speaks for the store, that the store is good. The food was great. I loved it and the waiter was also very friendly in all other waiters too

I hope the restaurant owner invest more in staff training or maybe find better talent and pay them more. I don't mind paying more, bcs honestly the food is good that it's worth it to pay more.

I have been at Azteca Mexicana multiple times. I have even recommended it to many friends as the only place in region to go for something close to real mexican food. After my last 2 visits, I have to sadly change my mind. Even though the ambient, drinks and service are still good, the food does not have much to do with real Mexican taste. My meat and rice taste like ketchup, cold tortillas, dry and tasteless refried beans. I can only recommend this place to get some drinks and appetizers.

Unfortunately, absolutely not recommended. Despite the efforts of the staff, food is often forgotten. The tables stick and are not wiped clean. The increase in prices also shows a deterioration in quality, which is a shame.

The dishes came super quickly - a great plus point when you're really hungry. The Virgin Caipis were delicious and refreshing. We were served by three ladies. That was a bit confusing, even though all three were friendly. The first wrote her name on a piece of paper with the table number (payment is not made at the table, but at the exit), the second brought our drinks, the third the food we ordered. The taco in the children's meal was a bit dry with the two ingredients of minced meat and cheese (that's what it said on the menu, so of course it's up to the customer to say something). Otherwise, the dishes were filling, but unfortunately nothing “special” for us. When paying we had to point out the Family Day discount promised in the menu. All in all, not necessarily worth a second try, but "never say never" ;)

I've eaten here several times over the last few years and have always been very satisfied. Since I was a vegetarian and have been vegan for some time, I was always very grateful for the large selection of vegetarian and vegan dishes. When I ordered the same thing in January this year that I have been eating there for years (a rice bowl that is marked as vegetarian/vegan available upon request), I was told by the waitress that this dish was not available as vegan. When I asked, she explained to me that they cook their rice in chicken broth. She further explained to me that they prepare EVERY rice this way and there is no other way. So almost all the dishes that are marked as vegetarian or even vegan on the menu are actually neither vegan nor vegetarian. So in the last few years I have consumed chicken broth several times without knowing it and have therefore lost all trust in Azteca. So to all vegetarians/vegans who eat here: The rice dishes are not vegetarian! And to the Azteca: Please adjust your menu IMMEDIATELY!

We were present on February 15, 2025 with 15 people. Ordering was quick and drinks and food arrived within the usual time frame. Drinks, carbonated/non-carbonated water swapped. Vegetarian portion swapped with meat portion. Two were dissatisfied. Food was lukewarm in half the cases. A "deceptive package" of chili con carne on a nice pan but with the bottom curved inwards, so that the portion, contrary to first appearances, was quite manageable and lukewarm and the driest chili I have ever eaten. Seasoning wise okay. Toilets are a disaster and cold/noisy but that's to be expected in the open hall in the townhouse. When paying, we asked whether the food and service were okay. At my presentation, the food tasted okay but unfortunately it was only lukewarm. One excuse after another came instead of saying okay, I'll pass it on to the kitchen and we'll improve it. A lady in the checkout line interjected that she had already brought up the lukewarm food to management several times without success and that she probably wouldn't come again. Probably not our group either. Price performance is not right.

We had to wait 1.5 hours to get our food and that too after reminding the waiter multiple times. The food quality is okay. Nothing special. Lots of apologies for the delays but the service needs to be improved.

Of course it's not the most outstanding location, but the restaurant is really pleasant to enter. The service could be a little more attentive, but the staff is very nice and friendly! The food is technically in a four star range in terms of price/performance. Most of it is very tasty, but not to everyone's taste! For me it was really good and deserves 4 stars.

To only give 1 star, something terrible must have happened... We had reserved for 8:30 p.m. and arrived at 8:41 p.m. We were let in at 9:30 p.m. My food arrived at exactly 10:40 p.m. Wrong order.. 2nd attempt 10:55 p.m. wrong again.. Conclusion; After almost 3 hours we go to McDonalds. Weak, very weak!!

Food is really good. I like the service with the smile and also they ask you in between if everything is going fine which is really heartwarming. A little costly but totally worth it.

Food was good and very filling. The service has to be emphasized extremely because a dish was actually chosen incorrectly and the person didn't like it. But we got a discount and a 10 euro voucher from the boss. We had already reserved the location again for the evening. Of course we redeemed the voucher straight away. But beyond that, there was always the question of whether we needed anything else, etc. The food and ambience get 4 stars. But because of the great service I give it 5 stars overall. Highly recommended.

Der Laden isr riesig, Teilweise den Gang des Stadthaus mitbenutzt, nicht gemütlich in diesem Bereich. Viel zu eng überall, viel zu laut. Eingangsbereich sehr unschön. Bedienung fragt ob man englisch spricht wenn man was will. Service grundsätzlich viel Luft nach oben. Fajitas bestehen aus ca.6 Maisfladen in einem Servierbehälter von denen die untere Hälfte eiskalt war, etwas Eisbergsalat tropnaß lieblos auf die Dips geschmissen, etwas Tomate, totgebratenes, trockenes Rindfleisch. Extrateller zum anrichten fehlt. Weit weg von authentische dafür etwas teurer. Muß man nicht nochmal machen

Everything used to be really good here. Now the waiting times are really just outrageous. Every time I give the store another chance but every time I have to wait ages. On food AND drink. No matter how much or little is going on, the employees are always overwhelmed.

We wanted to go out to dinner in a cozy evening to celebrate an occasion. Mexican sounded good and we went there. First of all, we had to wait at the entrance for at least 5 minutes until someone noticed us. And even then the service was very unfriendly. 20 minutes passed before someone came to us for drinks. The starter and main course were ordered, and it took 1 1/2 hours for the starter to arrive, in a restaurant that wasn't very full, mind you. 30 minutes later the main course arrived, which was nicely prepared on damaged and not clean plates, but also didn't taste fresh anymore. At the end, incorrect items were written on the bill and they tried to collect them. Definitely not worth another visit.

Great prices and authentic Mexican food. Mega friendly staff. Even if you didn't like something, you were immediately offered another dish - even though the mistake was actually yours. There are often gifts in the form of nachos at the beginning, and birthdays offer a large program, from a dessert to a small birthday song. My friends and I always enjoy going there and think it is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Mannheim.

Best Mexican food in the region, huge selection. Only restaurant in the region that offers empanadas. Most selection of tequilas in Germany. More than 100 tequilas. Different offers every weekday (I think Margarita Day 6€ on Thursdays) Lots of vegetarian dishes with a vegan option. Great starters Tastes great. I'm happy to be there every time

I have been here a couple of times and it's a decent place overall. The restaurant is located centrally and has a lot of seating spaces. The food tastes good and the portions are enough to fill you up completely. The service was pretty average when I visited as I had to look for the waiters to order food or any drinks, it was a little frustrating because the restaurant was not even full during that time.

I have mixed feelings about this store. On the one hand, the food tastes really good, and on good days everything runs smoothly: the order comes quickly, the staff is friendly, and you feel comfortable. On the other hand, there are unfortunately days when the service is disappointing. I've had situations where I didn't receive my order at all or had to wait over an hour and a half for my food. The ambience is okay, but the location right next to the mall is a bit annoying. Another problem seems to be the organization: often more guests are served than the staff can handle, which leads to the difficulties mentioned. My recommendation: visit the store during off-peak hours for a more relaxed experience.

Unfortunately there wasn't everything that was on the menu, e.g. E.g. draft beer and sangria.

The food is always very fresh and deliciously prepared. The selection is also very large, so you need time to decide. The blonde waitress is very friendly, actually the friendliest of all the service staff. But one thing has to be said, the toilets are a disaster. I have never seen such a dirty and dilapidated toilet in a restaurant. It has also happened before that one of three toilets was blocked, the second was closed because it was broken and the only usable toilet was dirty and contaminated with feces. Even so, everything is disgusting and dirty. This is not appropriate for a restaurant.

You call the waitress “excuse me” when you walk by because you want to order a drink, the only answer you get is “not now”. At first everything was a bit chaotic, we got the wrong drinks, then left again and changed. Then we got the wrong starter and blamed us. How can we know the quantity on the first visit to the restaurant? Ambience was completely okay, everything looked great. I don't want to mention any details about the toilets; it was very unpleasant to use them after eating.

We had ordered a table for New Year's Eve online in the reservation system. This was canceled for us a few hours in advance, on the grounds that the opening times in the system had unfortunately not been adjusted for New Year's Eve and that the restaurant had already closed by then. Bad experience, very rude and unprofessional! Of course we couldn't get a table anywhere at such short notice.

The place is very comfortable and really very beautiful. The service was very good from the staff and the food arrived on time. The enchiladas were also good but the green ones stood out in flavor.

Unfortunately, we were very disappointed with our visit, especially because we had already visited the restaurant two years ago and had much better experiences back then. Our disappointment was even greater this time. Even though we had a reservation, we were ignored at reception for 10 minutes - even though several employees saw us. There was neither a greeting nor a short “We’ll be with you in a moment”. Something like this shouldn't happen in a restaurant. The table service was also disappointing. The waiter suddenly walked away while we were ordering, without an explanation, and later came every 5 minutes to ask if everything was OK. It was so intrusive that it spoiled all of our enjoyment of the meal. The ambience, which we had found pleasant two years ago, seemed old and unkempt this time, almost run down. It seems as if a lot has been neglected here. Unfortunately, not a place we will be returning to anytime soon. 2 stars because the food was okay, but the service and atmosphere was a disappointment this time.

Lots of choice of dishes and always fresh and very tasty. It's better to reserve a table in advance, it was always busy when I was there. Drinks sometimes take a little longer but the food is brought out very quickly after you order.

Mass processing. The waitress barely spoke German and didn't know the menu. The burger was totally overpriced for the price (€18.50) and I've eaten better at a snack bar for half the price. In addition, the fries as a side dish were quite a small portion. Not to mention that every round of the same beer you got a different type of glass. I don't have to have a lager from a pilsner glass in a restaurant. If you want it to get worse you should just use the toilet. Very dirty and old is still a polite way to put it. Even Deutsche Bahn has better toilets. We were also lucky enough to be sitting close to the entrance - it was so quick that I almost had to put my jacket on.

The furnishings and decoration are pretty cool - you sometimes forget you're in a mall. I found the service to be very chaotic and overwhelmed, even though it was only a Thursday evening. We waited over 45 minutes for our drinks and had our food after about 1.5 hours. Unfortunately, my food didn't really impress me either. My companion's food was apparently better.

Mexico is far away here and when you go to the toilets you stumble across empty boxes and unused machines. Salad for €17.90 just lettuce, roughly chopped tomatoes and cucumbers so I can't recommend it, sorry

If you want to eat Mexican food, you don't have to look any further because you can find everything your heart desires here. It's really worth eating here. The atmosphere is very pleasant. Happy hour from 6 or 6:30 p.m. and everything for 4 euros. No matter how many times I've been here and no matter where I've sat, there's always a draft from somewhere, as if a window was open somewhere. There are only two radiators for the large room.

The restaurant is very large and thrown together. The food was mediocre, although classic Mexican. No special taste and lots of rich sauce. The cocktails were good and the international waitresses were very attentive and friendly. Unfortunately the atmosphere is very uncomfortable, the plates were all damaged and the toilets were very dirty.

Overall just disappointing. I've been here a couple of times because friends and colleagues thought burritos would be a fun idea. The portion sizes are huge, do there's that. It’s a nice location and the staff is overall friendly. But the food is incredibly lazy and boring. Everything could use more salt, more acid, more everything. All the menu items taste the same. It's always Generic Meat, wrapped in Tortilla of your choice, smothered until soggy with Generic Sauce and diced, canned tomatoes. The Salsa tastes like tomato water. The guacamole tastes like nothing, not even avocado. You cannot convince me that the sour cream isn't straight from the container, without so much as salt added. Which meat you chose has ZERO impact on the taste. Eating here is an exercise in nihilism - none of your choices matter, ultimately we all die.

The service was very courteous and friendly, at the beginning we had nachos with salsa on the house. The restaurant is very large and there is plenty of seating. There were several groups eating there at the same time as us, so we waited a little longer for our tacos and salad. All in all it was good.

Service is really completely helpless, they don't come for ages to take the order, then they only bring 2 drinks instead of 6 and have to be asked again. When paying, they say that they won't get the tip anyway. No wonder they are as listless as they are. Geez!

Nothing special about the food. Actually the sauce (Gonzales) tasted like sour ketchup. The portions were big albeit, so if you want to fill up you may consider going here and get their lunch promo. We paid around a total of 50€ for 3 people which is not too bad given the hefty servings. We were not too happy but left the place really full.

Besser als die vorhergehende Bewertung. Okay - Punktabzug für den Eingangsbereich, der etwas sehr unaufgeräumt wirkt. Ansonsten war das Personal, wenn auch unterbesetzt, auf Zack und sehr freundlich. Im Gegensatz zu dem anderen Mexikaner in Mannheim stimmte das Ambiente, es war warm und das Essen sehr lecker. Zum WC braucht man einen Code und Zahlen geht nur Remote, nicht am Tisch. Ansonsten eine klare Empfehlung.

A nice restaurant with Mexican decoration. Very nicely decorated. Service nice. However, unfortunately the food wasn't to my taste.

As a group of 20 people, spread over 2 tables, we could unfortunately only sit outside or in the Halle Om shopping center. The neon lights made the atmosphere feel like a mortuary. The service was nice, but severely overwhelmed with the many guests. The kitchen was also overwhelmed. The food didn't come at the same time and the last person only had their food after 1.5 hours!!! The drinks were also very slow and questions e.g. b. Questions about the type of beer or additional candles were not answered by the staff. We're never coming back!

If the tables had been arranged differently, we could have sat at a long table. But this was too much effort so our group sat separately. After about 30 minutes the drinks were taken, which then came after about 30 minutes. Ordering food is difficult if you have eaten Mexican as the menu is very extensive. After a wait of 1 hour and 45 minutes, the food began to be brought to the table. But they don't think you can eat together there, no, only two dishes were brought to the table and then there was another 5-10 minute wait. If you wanted to order a drink, you first had to intercept the waitress. The empty glasses that were on our table were not cleared away the entire time. Since I've never eaten Mexican before, I can't say much about the food itself, but it wasn't anything special. There is a lot of potential in the restaurant itself. The owner should think about the organization of the kitchen, the service and the overall concept. If you want to pay there is a cash register in the restaurant, and if you're lucky there isn't a huge queue in front of it. You can imagine if you are there with a group of 20 people and want to pay separately, how long the line will be for the other guests. This is a rather suboptimal solution.

We waited half an hour to enter and 1.40 hours to eat, even though we had a reservation, but because of this inconvenience they gave us a voucher of 10 euros for our next visit, and we appreciate that attention! The food doesn't feel 100% Mexican but rather TexMex, but it is delicious and abundant and the waiter's attention was good! Shrimp makes me sick and since I ordered chicken and meat I didn't clarify that, and after a while I felt bad, it means that something in the kitchen was contaminated with the shrimp, but I always usually clarify this and this time I didn't realize to notify in advance!

The restaurant is in a department store, which makes part of it very cold and spoils the ambience. After 20 minutes we were seated at a messy table. Our waiter came relatively quickly and took the order promptly. Drinks arrived in good time, but the starter didn't arrive until another 15 minutes. The main courses didn't arrive for over an hour after we sat down. We also only got one napkin for two people. The food was ok but nothing special, the burrito was soaked in tomato sauce “salsa” which made everything very soggy. The finished tables around us were not completely cleared away. Unfortunately, the nice staff seem to be overwhelmed in the crowded restaurant. Not worth the money.

Since you don't know the dishes, it would be good if there were pictures on the menu. A more detailed description of the dishes would also be good.

I found it very loud. We waited almost 25 minutes just to order. The main course took almost an hour. Food was ok but not super outstanding.

The impression was mainly made by the cold draft. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. The selection on the menu is overwhelming and it is not always possible to understand what you are actually ordering. If you come more often it will probably change.
