Azteca Mexicana in Mannheim

Nothing special about the food. Actually the sauce (Gonzales) tasted like sour ketchup. The portions were big albeit, so if you want to fill up you may consider going here and get their lunch promo. We paid around a total of 50€ for 3 people which is not too bad given the hefty servings. We were not too happy but left the place really full.

Am very disappointed I was there for the fourth and last time We waited quite a long time and the food was too cold, I complained about it and it was remade in about 5 minutes, but I lost my appetite 😞 You can debate taste But the last few times it was much better Ps: there was always a different waitress there 👎

The restaurant is far too big to offer any quality. The staff is very nice and tries hard, but it doesn't save the kitchen performance. I wouldn't have even given the food one star. Any canteen is better than this "restaurant".

A nice restaurant with Mexican decoration. Very nicely decorated. Service nice. However, unfortunately the food wasn't to my taste.

As a group of 20 people, spread over 2 tables, we could unfortunately only sit outside or in the Halle Om shopping center. The neon lights made the atmosphere feel like a mortuary. The service was nice, but severely overwhelmed with the many guests. The kitchen was also overwhelmed. The food didn't come at the same time and the last person only had their food after 1.5 hours!!! The drinks were also very slow and questions e.g. b. Questions about the type of beer or additional candles were not answered by the staff. We're never coming back!

We were there with a group of 20 people. It was a shame that we actually had to sit in the shopping center and not in the restaurant itself. If the tables had been arranged differently, we could have sat at a long table. But this was too much effort so our group sat separately. After about 30 minutes the drinks were taken, which then came after about 30 minutes. Ordering food is difficult if you have eaten Mexican as the menu is very extensive. After a wait of 1 hour and 45 minutes, the food began to be brought to the table. But they don't think you can eat together there, no, only two dishes were brought to the table and then there was another 5-10 minute wait. If you wanted to order a drink, you first had to intercept the waitress. The empty glasses that were on our table were not cleared away the entire time. Since I've never eaten Mexican before, I can't say much about the food itself, but it wasn't anything special. There is a lot of potential in the restaurant itself. The owner should think about the organization of the kitchen, the service and the overall concept. If you want to pay there is a cash register in the restaurant, and if you're lucky there isn't a huge queue in front of it. You can imagine if you are there with a group of 20 people and want to pay separately, how long the line will be for the other guests. This is a rather suboptimal solution.

We waited half an hour to enter and 1.40 hours to eat, even though we had a reservation, but because of this inconvenience they gave us a voucher of 10 euros for our next visit, and we appreciate that attention! The food doesn't feel 100% Mexican but rather TexMex, but it is delicious and abundant and the waiter's attention was good! Shrimp makes me sick and since I ordered chicken and meat I didn't clarify that, and after a while I felt bad, it means that something in the kitchen was contaminated with the shrimp, but I always usually clarify this and this time I didn't realize to notify in advance!

The food was pretty bland, and I was brought the wrong meal. The service was so impolite that we did not trust ourselves to say anything! It certainly did not taste like any Mexican food I have ever had…

The restaurant is in a department store, which makes part of it very cold and spoils the ambience. After 20 minutes we were seated at a messy table. Our waiter came relatively quickly and took the order promptly. Drinks arrived in good time, but the starter didn't arrive until another 15 minutes. The main courses didn't arrive for over an hour after we sat down. We also only got one napkin for two people. The food was ok but nothing special, the burrito was soaked in tomato sauce “salsa” which made everything very soggy. The finished tables around us were not completely cleared away. Unfortunately, the nice staff seem to be overwhelmed in the crowded restaurant. Not worth the money.

I found it very loud. We waited almost 25 minutes just to order. The main course took almost an hour. Food was ok but not super outstanding.

Since you don't know the dishes, it would be good if there were pictures on the menu. A more detailed description of the dishes would also be good.

The impression was mainly made by the cold draft. The waitresses were attentive and friendly. The selection on the menu is overwhelming and it is not always possible to understand what you are actually ordering. If you come more often it will probably change.

It's easy to get a table for two without a reservation during the week, but things could be different at the weekend. The service was there quickly and picked up food and drinks. The food was absolutely great and almost too much, but tasty and well priced. Unfortunately, during our almost 2 1/2 hour visit, the empty plates weren't cleared away, so the table was full of them the whole time... We weren't even asked if we wanted anything else - a shame! Otherwise great atmosphere, delicious food👍🏻

Very tasty, authentic Mexican food. The food was hot, fresh and very tasty. On Saturday evening the shop was extremely full and we had to wait a really long time for our food, but you also had the option of ordering a few snacks or local drinks to shorten the waiting time. We'll definitely eat there again.

I've eaten there often in recent years, but unfortunately the quality has declined and very good dishes have been taken off the menu, which I think is a shame. But what leads me to the two star 🌟 rating is that the service is a disaster. We were eating with a larger group, the place was full and the service served us drinks every half an hour, which I find long for drinks. What was also inexplicable to me were the many open drinks on our bill that we never got but still had to pay for. It's a shame, but it was the last visit for me!

The staff is friendly, but sometimes they only have rudimentary German language skills. But that's no reason not to go again 👍 Positive: individual dishes can be ordered in a vegan version.

Lovely drinks, tasty and quality of food is very good. Service was slow for a Monday with the restaurant being half empty. They do daily specials. Unfortunately not on Monday nights but most nights of the week. Do check the specials before ordering :)

Food was great. Beef enchilada was rich and tasty. Homemade iced tea is a pleasure. But others know that too, which is why there is always a lot of activity there, which limits the atmosphere somewhat. But good for Atzteca, grant them success.

I have been a guest several times. The food is delicious and the portions are large. I recommend Plato because you can try a variation of several dishes here. Other dishes (e.g. the enchiladas) can quickly become too monotonous to eat due to the quantity. There is also a wide selection of Mexican beers served by friendly service. However, I have seen more attractive toilets (the door handle was missing, the cleanliness was average). Still, I would come back.

We had made a reservation for 8 p.m. with two friends and had to wait outside the door for a moment. The patience was about 20 minutes. The army at the reception wanted to come back straight away and didn't think of it. It's nothing special, but you can eat it. Enchiladas were better than the taco shells with different fillings. A guacamole diluted with a lot of water did the rest. The price is too high for what is offered. We were there on a Saturday lunchtime and it was 70% full.

Best Mexican food in the region, huge selection. Only restaurant in the region that offers empanadas. Most selection of tequilas in Germany. More than 100 tequilas. Different offers every weekday (I think Margarita Day 6€ on Thursdays) Lots of vegetarian dishes with a vegan option. Great starters Tastes great. I'm happy to be there every time

There were 5 of us at 6 p.m. on Saturday in the interior of the restaurant. There were 2 people with intolerances there. * The first person with onion intolerance had ordered schnitzel with fries without sauce, but instead gratinated with cheese. The cheese was grated separately and served to her in a small bowl, not gratinated. She was charged in full for the dish as if she had ordered with sauce and she was able to pay extra for the cheese. * The dish from the friend with the gluten/lactose intolerance was completely forgotten. * Ours was cold again due to the long wait. * I had a schnitzel and ordered the accompanying sauce in a pot because it was spicy. However, my schnitzel was drowned in hot sauce, the sauce didn't come separately. The service became more and more nerfed. There were no suggestions for changes. Too bad! + EC card payment possible + tastes good + Price/performance appropriate - Do not order any extras to avoid being overwhelmed - Don't expect an apology/compensation, all you get is "unfortunately it's very crowded here today" - you pay at the terminal, not at the table - communication between service and kitchen doesn't work (waitress says one thing and kitchen does something else) Recommendation: The vanilla ice cream ball fried in cornflake breading with cinnamon, a little honey and cream. Unfortunately there is an infestation of mice in the restaurant, several mice run through the restaurant, the staff doesn't do anything. Even when it came to the bill, despite asking, there was no response from the staff. The food wasn't particularly good either.

I recently visited Azteca Mexican restaurant in Mannheim. The experience was generally good but not exceptional. We tried a variety of tacos—shrimp, pulled beef, and pulled chicken. The pulled beef was definitely the standout, while the other two were somewhat bland and could have benefitted from more seasoning and salt. The homemade lemonade was refreshing, and the service was quick and friendly. Overall, it’s an okay spot for a casual meal, but I wouldn’t expect gourmet-level tacos. I’d go back, but with tempered expectations.

If you are Mexican, the food is more Texmex, very sweet and the San Miguel burrito had a very sweet BBQ sauce with a strange texture.

Actually a very good shop in the middle of the city. The food is really very good in my opinion, but many people around me don't like it, for example. Service: I think the staff does their best, but every time I was there there were always different people working... I can well imagine that the turnover rate is high and that is definitely due to the working conditions. The waiters are usually running 😅. I still think the restaurant is good, especially in large groups and afterwards you can go anywhere from the center of the city.

The staff walked past empty glasses countless times and also took their time ordering drinks. The taste of the food was okay, but nothing special at all. The ambience is very loud and the air in the back area is quite stuffy. Had some “Hofbräu Haus vibes”.

Super place in the very center of Mannheim

Well, this doesn't have much to do with real Mexican cuisine. The ambience is very uncomfortable and quite dark. The menu is far too crowded. There are probably around two hundred dishes. The service is very nice Getting nervous with so many dishes and the toilet isn't really clean

I ordered two tacos of meat and chicken, however the meat was completely dry and without flavor, on the other hand the chicken tasted as a cheap pre made food from a supermarket. Additionally, the waiting time for the food in general was almost 40 mins, we didn’t even get the starter after 30 minutes that we were there.

Good Mexican food. Prices are rather high. The biggest criticism is that the service takes forever (even though there were a lot of service staff on site).

Absolute rip off!!! We ordered a "homemade iced tea" and it was just a Lipton. Our Borritos Asados ​​for around €18 consisted mostly of a porridge that was supposed to look like meat. The sauce was very reminiscent of gravy from a bag. Really not recommended.

First time trying this place and it was delicious. Had the soft shell tacos and quesadilla maya, both fantastic. Cocktails were some of the best I've had too! Classic margarita and scorpion were delicious. My new favourite restaurant.

We were often in this restaurant. So far the food has always been good, but the service has not always been. Yesterday we were there for the last time. We waited 90 minutes for our food. Our daughter got her food a little earlier, but without cutlery, which was no longer brought. Our food came 30 minutes later, also without cutlery and cold. The portions have shrunk significantly compared to previous visits. We discussed the deficiencies in payment, but no one was interested. A pity !

Nice location and nice service. It was very busy on the terrace, so you sometimes had to wait a little longer to order something.

Unfortunately I did not have a good experience here. I ordered 2 vegetarian empanadas and was served a mix of vegetarian and meat based empanadas. As one can't really tell from outside unless you eat it, it was really disappointing because of their mistake. When the waitress was informed, she apologized and was offering free drinks. But this is not the solution! Nothing can be done to fix this mistake. Hence, I would highly recommend to think twice before you order vegetarian food.

Everything is perfect, the service is super, but the bad thing is that they make you queue at the cashier to pay and this is very bad since endless queues form, when you pay with a card and that's it. So he is not surprised that the public leaves without paying. This should be improved a lot.

SERVICE Underground! We visited the restaurant last Saturday evening. Admittedly, it was hot and the place was reasonably busy, BUT that we had to wait 1 hour for our drinks right at the beginning (we hadn't even ordered cocktails) and we then had to complain about a drink (beer) because it was forgotten, was already a bad start. The meal also took almost 1.5 hours and was unfortunately “just” ok. We have visited the restaurant several times and the quality of the food was significantly better before. We ordered 2 different burgers (chipotle and BBQ burgers) as well as a quesadilla asada. The burgers were drowned in sauce. The chipotle sauce itself didn't taste like anything and was just spicy. The fries were already cold when the burgers came to the table and the specially ordered sour cream was initially forgotten and when it was given after a complaint, it was just a simple blob of creme fraiche with no seasoning and no taste. The Chile con Queso sauce for the quesadilla, as well as the equally named appetizer, were also cold and unfortunately tasteless. In addition, there was no more rice and the quesadilla was "only" served with mashed beans or fries. The second round of drinks took almost an hour, but after we complained the price was at least waived. After we finally received these, no service came to our table and so we were left stranded for the rest of the evening. The crowning glory was the eternal queue at the payment terminal, as you can either transfer the full amount online using a QR code at the table, or for individual payments in a group, you have to go to a terminal to pay there, as the waitresses don't have any money accept. This was our last time there for the time being.

The service was superrrr slow. It took about 1 - 1/2 hours from ordering to the food being put on our table. Guest who got there 30 minutes after us was getting drinks and appetizers before I was even given my first beer. The food was far from good mexican food. We got the fajitas and shrimp tacos and couldn't even finish it because it tasted so bad and was making our stomach turn. After waiting over an hour for our food, it also came out cold, and the beans looked and tasted like it was straight out of a can. If you're looking for good food, I would skip, but if you're looking to sit inside for a long time with a beer that is going flat, then this is the place for you.

Very slow service, at least 1-1/2 hour from ordering to food on the table. The establishment seemed very popular amongst locals but I cannot conclude why. The beer selection was the only authentic Mexican cuisine they had going for them.

Terrible store, football is on 3 TVs, each with about a 10 second delay. In the shop next door you could hear 10 seconds before a goal was scored. We've been sitting here for an hour now and still haven't had anything to drink. Addendum: I have to adjust my review a bit, shortly afterwards an experienced waitress came who brought everything and gave me a bucket of Corona 👍🏼

When I asked how long it would take, I didn't get a clear answer (Rewe next door would have stayed up until 10 p.m. to buy me something). We then got a round of drinks on the house, but they also took a long time. The mojito left us wondering if there was any alcohol in it at all.
