Very nice place to take a break.

The food was good. Self-service in the beer garden. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't cooperating.

Almost 5 euros for a piece of cake is pretty steep.

We walked to the restaurant today and, as a treat, we had goose breast with dumplings (and on a Wednesday 👌) and schnitzel with fries. It was almost coffee time, but the food was still hot, which was really great 👍. At first, we were the only guests, but later a few more joined us. This made it very quiet, which we really enjoyed. We'll definitely be back 😊.

Uns wurden Ochsenbäckchen mit Klößen und Blaukraut angeboten. Das Essen stand bereits 3 Minuten nach der Bestellung auf dem Tisch. 1 Schälchen Blaukraut mit der Bemerkung, das sei für beide, wir könnten ja nachbestellen. Die Klöße schmeckten fad, was natürlich auch an den Kartoffel liegen kann. Allerdings waren diese sogenannten Rutscherklöße auch für diese Art von Klößen verkocht und lagen matschig und unappetitlich auf dem Teller. Nach meiner Beschwerde kam darauf hin nur lapidar " das gehört so". Wir haben die Klöße nicht gegessen. Für das Essen wurde uns 18,60€ pro Person berechnet + 5,00 € extra für das Blaukraut. Möglich, dass viele hier schon sehr gut gegessen haben - an diesem Tag hatte die Küche wohl einen sehr schlechten Tag und der Wirt/Koch noch nichts von Service gehört

I was there on May 1st with two friends. As we were climbing up, a family told us that the meal took over an hour. We tried anyway. Although there were a lot of service people on duty, we gave up after 40 minutes. Nobody took our order. I'm sorry about the beautiful inn, but I can't recommend it more. Hungry, we started our descent again and stopped off in Stans, where we were very well served.

You can always walk up the Georgenberg, the beer garden is self-service, the prices are ok, and there is a playground for children

Celebrated a birthday there today. Ambience is great and there is a playground for children. Self-service. Staff is very friendly. Drinks were cold, food was ok, nothing special but not bad either. Prices are okay. Toilets are clean.

Very nice beer garden with a view into the distance. We were there at lunchtime and enjoyed a wild boar roast, which was really excellent. The service was very good.

Good bike route, great view, nice beer garden... Unfortunately, due to the many signs and notices, you can't really see where you have to go and what's on offer that day. Menu could be a little clearer. Unfortunately there were no cheese spaetzle, they were just spaetzle with some kind of mixed cream sauce with canned fried onions, unfortunately no trace of cheese and braised onions... a little more attention to detail would do you good. Maybe a few fewer dishes and prefer everything fresh and homemade. Unfortunately, the large salad plate only had ready-made canned salads slapped together. Since we know a bit about gastronomy, we notice this straight away. Unfortunately, the chef, who was also serving/checkout that day, also seemed a bit stressed and complained loudly about it. He can't spray because he's usually only in the kitchen. Maybe you could say it a little differently. Conclusion : Location - if a little neater/clearer - top, Food and service could be improved

When we were there it was still closed.

We celebrated our son's confirmation. Already in the preliminary conversation a very friendly and nice contact. Our special requests were addressed without hesitation, and what's more, the kitchen also made suggestions which we gratefully accepted. On the day of the celebration we would be warmly welcomed. The selection of roasts was brought to the tables on platters and I think there was enough choice of dishes from the menu for our vegetarian guests. The food was very, very tasty, especially the goose breast, a dream. We, our guests and especially the confirmation candidate were, or are, very satisfied and felt very comfortable. Thanks to the team for the great day

Wir haben die Konfirmation unseres Sohnes gefeiert. Schon im Vorfeld zur Planung sehr freundlich und sympathisch. Auf wünsche und Extras wurde ohne zögern eingegangen und Vorschläge unterbreitet die uns sehr positiv stimmten. Am Tag der Feier ein sehr freundlicher Empfang. Das Essen war sehr sehr gut, vor allem die Gänsebrust war ein Traum. Wir als Eltern, die Gäste und vor allem der Konfirmand waren sehr zufrieden

It's great that it's also open for lunch on weekdays! On Wednesdays there are even roasts with dumplings! Unfortunately, salad is mostly finished product 🫤 Cakes and tarts are offered.

Hello, it still exists... the friendly, unselfish humanity 🫶On March 27th, 2025 our son was "stranded" on site with his bike. He was no longer able to continue driving. Because of this, he was offered to stay overnight in the barn for free with his sleeping bag and blanket. He was also offered a free breakfast. We can only thank you from the bottom of our hearts ❤️ that our son was able to stay overnight safely and securely. Because of this, we are convinced that your restaurant can only be recommended. The tarte flambée (classic) had very little topping. The €10 price tag is completely unjustified. The doors were open, which made it uncomfortably cold inside (in March).

Since I usually have a very positive attitude, I report the good things. The view was very nice and the hazelnut schnapps was good. (A Willi was ordered) There was food. The beer was good too.

There is a large selection of good home-cooked food, especially for vegetarians - and it was super tasty! Dogs are very welcome here and are pampered: there is even ice cream and many other treats for them. Thank you very much for the warm service! We'd love to come back.

..quaint, cozy excursion restaurant where real cooking is still happening....you can hear the sizzle coming from the kitchen and the chef also fulfills special requests. The map is small and good. The special thing: there is also a card for dogs 😉...in summer with a beer garden and playground.

New Year's Eve menu was great as always!!! Delicious, plentiful, lovingly prepared and served. The boss and her team are great! Thank you, we are already looking forward to next year!

We have just come from the so-called New Year's Eve menu. Earn money quickly for the house or quickly spent on us. In our opinion, it is absolutely not worth the price/performance ratio. The dessert was served with whipped cream. The corresponding spoons were given to one person's table in the wrong number....You pass them on... I was given aluminum foil to wrap up at the table for the food I didn't finish. The starter soup and the salad tasted good. However, everything is the same for 4 different menus. The plates were simply prepared. At a price of 45.90 to 79.90 euros we expected more service and to be honest, paper tablecloths are really inappropriate with a menu like this. Simply put, we are disappointed. I reserved the table for us by email. We didn't read anything about a menu on the homepage. Recommendation: take a look at the next menu at the spa hotel in Bad Rodach.

The card wasn't right and was very slimmed down. The dumplings were overcooked and almost liquid. There was no drinks menu and you had to guess drinks. It is only possible to pay in cash, but it is not listed anywhere. Yes, the staff was friendly. But unfortunately it wasn't enough for more stars!

Always worth a trip. Food fresh and delicious. The playground is a home for children. The view is priceless. And even with children it can be reached on foot via hiking trails from Bad Rodach train station in about 1 hour.

There was a strong smell of frying fat at the entrance even though there were no schnitzels and fries on the weekend. Cheese spaetzle tasted delicious.

Danger!!! Only cash payment is possible! We came to this idyllic excursion beer garden by chance. The food was very tasty, we all enjoyed it (unfortunately I didn't take any photos). I would particularly like to highlight the tagliatelle with chanterelles and the plum cake. But all other dishes were also very good. Unfortunately, self-service is required here. The lady at the counter was absolutely friendly and very humorous. There are also interesting entertainment options for the kids. Very pleasant atmosphere with partly beautiful views. You can absolutely recommend this location. We would love to come back.

We called spontaneously and got a table for 8 adults, a child and a baby. The food was freshly prepared. We passed the time on the great playground. All dishes (schnitzel, burger, cordon bleu and tarte flambée) were very tasty. At the end we went to the observation tower. A perfect family evening. We'll definitely come back again.

Even as a child, I always went to Georgenberg with my parents. Now I was there again after 50 years. And I have to say it hardly changed, I felt like I was back in my childhood. Of course it has been modernized here and there, but it is still the same as it was back then. The beautiful, large beer garden, the children's playground, the amazing view over Rodach, the window to pick up 😄 I think the prices for self-service are a bit high, but my tagliatelle with chanterelles was very good. The lady at the window is super nice 🥰 And cards at the table would be great... You first have to choose your food at a table and it takes a while to choose... and then when there are a few people standing there, it's stupid. Maybe a suggestion for next year because the beer garden season is unfortunately over now 🥺 but we'll definitely be back!!!!

Wonderfully located in nature, we were there on a Wednesday lunchtime. The staff was probably understaffed, and a slightly bad-tempered chef felt more disturbed by the customers. No matter who asked, you had to wait until the chef had time for you, and that was said very directly. It was still tasty and we might come back again. We actually wanted to take a dog ice cream with us, but given our mood we decided not to.

The cake we ate was a store-bought frozen ready-made cake for €3.90 each, which I think is outrageous. It was pretty dark in the ladies' room but you couldn't turn on the lights. The ambience and mood was also quite good thanks to the music that was playing. What I liked was the playground that was integrated into the garden.

Nice beer garden with good opening times. Very friendly staff. Food was ok. Schnitzel itself wasn't that great, but hunter's sauce is recommended. Overall, I would describe it as an alternative if you are in the area.

Georgenberggaststätte was always a nice place to visit for me. But unfortunately the prices here are no longer understandable for me either. A piece of cheese cream cake 4.20 euros. Too bad. In the future I'll only have something to drink there. Food prices and ice cream prices are simply outrageous.

Very nice beer garden. You can either walk about 1km from the parking lot on the street or drive straight to the beer garden. A little music in the background would be nice. There is also a spacious, fenced playground for younger visitors.

We went to this restaurant today after a long hike. Everything was great, delicious burger, good soup, friendly service, great view from the table. The apple strudel was particularly a hit - it tasted like my grandma's. We'll definitely come back.

Super tasty game goulash with great dumplings and homemade red cabbage. Authentic, very hospitable service. Great atmosphere and a very delicious dessert - namely Kaiserschmarrn, which I love so much. So, I will come back in the summer with my electric bike, which I can also charge up there.

Today we spontaneously hiked up to the Sankt Georgenberg and stopped there. Friendly welcome from the boss and we got a nice place to sit with the dog. Great view and cozy dining room. The starter soup and main course were very 😋 delicious. Liver dumplings and Maultaschen soup followed by homemade shish kebabs with 🍟 fries.

Wir sind von Bad Rodach aus hoch gelaufen, klasse Lokal! Unser Hund wurde auch total verwöhnt. Die Bedienung war super nett & das Essen war auch sehr lecker. Wir haben uns richtig wohl gefühlt. Bis zum nächsten Mal.

So stellt man sich einen Biergarten vor. Sehr gemütlich. Mit Selbstbedienung. Schöner Spielplatz im hinteren Bereich, nicht störend. Große Auswahl mit allem was das Herz begehrt. Parkplatz direkt daneben.

Schöner Biergarten an sich, wenn der zu ist bekommt man keinen Platz in der Gaststätte wenn man spontan kommt. Als wir im Sommer wieder kamen und der Biergarten geöffnet hatte, konnten wir das ganze dann Testen. Man muss sich für alles anstellen, dauert alles ewig. Selbst wenn man nur ein Bier trinken will, sind ja 20 Leute vor einem die essen bestellen. Kein Kelner der zu den Tischen geht und irgendwas aufnimmt. Über mein Essen war in der Küche Schnaps gekippt worden ausversehen (Brotzeit) konnte man aber noch Essen. Das Schlimme war aber das meine Freundin Meerettich mit Tafelspitz hatte und fast alles auf dem Teller blieb. Ich probierte dann selbst und stellte auch fest das man das Fleisch nicht essen kann, nur Fett kaum ein Stück mager. Dann noch zu solchen Preisen. Mein Fazit, wenn man nicht zur Mittagszeit und nicht im Winter hin geht und Glück hat das nicht viel los ist und kein Fleisch bestellt und nur ein Bier trinken will und nur kurz Sitzen will dann kann man mal hin gehen 🤣

Freitags Schaschlik Tag unbedingt vorbestellen. Essen war sehr lecker.

Prima Biergarten mit großem vielfältigem Spielplatz und Maltisch. Mit Kindern sehr empfehlenswert. Edit : Der Biergarten ist seit dem Betreiberwechsel nicht mehr - was er einmal war. Zu aller erst fällt auf, dass die Strandkörbe und das Tipi verschwunden sind. Der neue Betreiber scheint sich aber dennoch auf Kinder spezialisiert zu haben, denn auf einer Werbetafel wird farbenfroh für ein überteuertes Kids-Menue geworben. Zudem ist nun neue Sitzgelegenheiten geschaffen worden ... um Kindergeburtstage etc. am Georgenberg ausrichten zu können. Heute finden direkt zwei Feiern gleichzeitig statt. Ich fühle mich wie in einem trashigen Indoorspielplatz (bloß eben outdoor). Die Speisekarte ist auch nicht sehr anheimelnd. Die Speisen sind leider auch nicht mehr sonderlich schmackhaft. Alles wirkt eher nach Sparkurs auf Kosten der Gäste und ziemlich lieblos. Wer den Biergarten am Georgenberg bisher für seine entspannte Lässigkeit und die unaufgeregte Kinderfreundlichkeit schätzte ... wird in jedem Fall so enttäuscht sein wie ich es bei unserem letzten Besuch war.
