I've been here a few times and so far everything has always been perfect, only last time something very strange happened to me. I ordered a tomahawk and it was so dry you really couldn't eat it. When I sent it back because it cost €27, the kitchen said "that's how it should be". The boss did offer to make a new one, but with a derogatory undertone where I would have expected an apology. I let it go but it wasn't pleasant anymore.

More Augustinian is not possible. Tradition, quality

I live in the neighborhood and this Saturday we wanted to have a beer and eat something in the sun here, we arrive and see a free table but we are still waiting for the waiter who as I leave addresses him with a hello and he ignores me as I suspect it was more important for them to help other people who were already sitting drinking. I don't think I will come back if the service doesn't get better.

A typically Bavarian rustic restaurant. Very nice atmosphere, great beer garden and excellent food! Not that cheap in terms of price, but justified! So far and since the reopening, always very friendly, nice and hard-working waitresses/waiters!!! The only thing I regret as a long-time regular (including an additional 8-person regulars' table once a month) is the noticeable, very frequent change of staff!! For whatever reason?? I will still remain a regular guest with family and friends and can and will always recommend the Spieglwirt!

Arrogant, unfriendly and rude landlady. You really want to enjoy a Saturday with your family in peace, but no. Bad service and people like this ruin it all. Wouldn’t recommend.

For me it is the best roast pork in Munich. The ambience is also very tasteful and the service is just great. The latter is particularly worth mentioning, as this is not often the case these days.

It's really nice that the restaurant is now open again after being closed for many years. New, previously unused rooms were even opened up and integrated into the restaurant. The food is really very good.

This restaurant is among my favorite places to dine in Munich. I have eaten there many times, and only once was the food not to my liking. Therefore, I can confidently say the food is exceptionally well-prepared. I would venture to say that I've enjoyed the best Pommes frites in all of Munich there. The hamburger is sensational; the bread has a delightful crumb, and the meat is rich and juicy. They offer two versions of the hamburger, both excellent. The schnitzel is spectacular. Furthermore, they offer seasonal dishes; I highly recommend the pepper steak in winter, as well as the duck. In short, everything we sampled at this restaurant was exceptionally delicious.

Great atmosphere, very tasty, authentic food. Only the prices for drinks are a bit high - that's just how it is these days. Often very busy, then you have to wait a bit.

Very good, gladly again and again

The food for you was good, only on the last visit I took duck, it was just bones and that for a whopping 30 euros. I had roast pork which was really tasty but I couldn't eat everything and wanted to take the rest with me. The waitress came with a cardboard box with the meat at the table and because half a dumpling without sauce you couldn't eat at home anymore and at 20 euros when I ordered something from the Italian it was half cheaper and cleverly packaged. Unfortunately I was disappointed

Great food, beer and service. The restaurant is outside of the center in a very beautiful neighborhood near the Olympic park. It offers the local Augustiner beer and selected traditional dishes. The service is top!

Schäufele and a light Augustiner... What more do you need to experience Bavarian gourmet culture? If you then get a perfect seat and are served in a rustic atmosphere in a friendly and "rustic" manner 😜... then you leave satisfied and full!

Wir hatten einen Tisch reserviert (zum Glück, denn der Spiegelwirt war für einen Sonntagabend sehr, sehr gut besucht), wurden von einem robust bayerischen, aber gut aufgelegten "Kellner" bedient, das Augustiner Fassbier war frisch und die Gläser gut gekühlt, das Essen war gut (das Schäufele für 19,50 Euro war vielleicht ein klein wenig "trocken", die Salatbowl Spiegel für 23 Euro hatte dafür aber fast mehr Falafel als Salat [also eine sehr große Portion] und das Kalbsschnitzel für 29,50 Euro [der kleine Beilagensalat kostete 6,50 Euro extra] war auch üppig). Ja, Qualität kostet seinen Preis und wir kommen gerne wieder, weil es einfach schön ist, dass aus einer völlig runtergekommenen Lokalität, Dank der Augustiner-Stiftung wieder ein so schönes, schmuckes Speiselokal geworden ist (was auch im Sommer sehr zu empfehlen ist)......und wenn's halt ein paar Leuten zu teuer ist oder die Bedienungen "zu bayerisch" oder das Bier (0,5 Augustiner für 4,60 Euro) zu warm, dann dürfen sie auch gerne wo anders hingehen (soll ja mehr als eine Wirtschaft in München geben).

Nie wieder !!!! Wir waren Eisstock Schießen haben über 40€ geazahlt hätten bis 22:10 bleiben dürfen. Um 22:00 kam vermutlich der Geschäftsführer und schrie uns an ob wir überhaupt gezahlt hätten. Wir haben natürlich bezahlt! Er hat uns weiter an geschrien das jetzt Schluss ist. Wir haben ganz normal mit ihm gesprochen und er hat uns weiter angeschrien…. Wir werden nie wieder dort hingehen waren öfters dort und hatten schon öfters schlechte Erfahrungen. Sehr Schade

Nice economy. Food is good. Only the waitress forgot my espresso three times and then the machine was switched off and cleaned. That doesn't work! Plus, she could have sold more if she had come by more often. Too bad.

The food was great, the price was higher, but it was worth it. The waitresses were quick and on the ball. The atmosphere was great, but every table was occupied (we were in a large room where there were also tables on the gallery) and therefore quite loud. People who are sensitive to noise should either ask for a separate table in a smaller room or avoid going at busy times (like before Christmas)!

You can feel the history when you look at the details. The food (1/4 duck with dumplings and red cabbage) was phenomenal, rustic atmosphere included.

Bavarian food in a typical Augustiner restaurant. Doesn't usually disappoint Two negative points: They didn't have desserts after 9 p.m. when it was full of people and the place was open until 11 p.m. It is incomprehensible that they cannot offer absolutely anything The second point is that the waitresses did not handle the cash and we spent a long time paying. We also don't understand how there can be only one box for 25 people to pay.

Waren mit Freunden zum Essen da. Schweinsbraten, Backhendl und Zwiebelrostbraten waren super. Alle waren waren vom Essen begeistert. Unsere Bedienung war auch sehr freundlich und nett. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

This particular beer hall is located just outside the center of Munich, in the Moosach district! This is quite an old building, which was originally used as a stable and then turned into a beer hall! In fact, a part of it was recently renovated, creating a new vibe in the store! However, in a few words, it is what we call a classic-traditional German beer hall with all that entails! We ordered two large draft blonde beers, a plate of sausages and one of their local pasta! They were all delicious, in large portions and reasonable prices! I highly recommend it!

Η συγκεκριμένη μπυραρία βρίσκεται λίγο έξω από το κέντρο του Μονάχου, στην περιοχή Moosach! Πρόκειται για ένα αρκετά παλιό κτήριο, το οποίο αρχικά λειτουργούσε ως στάβλος και έπειτα μετατράπηκε σε μπυραρία! Μάλιστα ένα κομμάτι του, ανακαινίστηκε πρόσφατα δημιουργώντας ένα νέο vibe στο μαγαζί! Πάντως με λίγα λόγια είναι αυτό που λέμε κλασική-παραδοσιακή γερμανική μπυραρία με ό,τι αυτό συνεπάγεται! Εμείς παραγγείλαμε δύο μεγάλες βαρελίσιες ξανθιές μπύρες, ένα πιάτο με λουκάνικα και ένα με τα τοπικά τους ζυμαρικά! Ήταν όλα πεντανόστιμα, σε μεγάλες μερίδες και φυσιολογικές τιμές! Το προτείνω ανεπιφύλακτα!

The atmosphere is really unique. Beautiful!!! The service is super super friendly and has friends at work. The food was great 👍. I had the schnitzel and it was super crispy, nice and thin, very tender and perfect with the lemon 👌. I would love to come back here. 10/10 Recommended

Food was great, inn is great. Overall very expensive. But one big problem: The landlady comes to the table without lying and simply says out of nowhere in an outrageously rude tone: THERE IS NO CARD PLAYING IN MY tavern!!! Why? Reason not available. I find it absolutely impossible, especially the way in which something like that is communicated. Once and never again.

Bad food. Roast pork didn't taste good. Landlady really very unfriendly. As customers we were treated very badly and condescendingly. Generally too expensive for the food.

11/2024 Was here for the first time and I liked it. A little loud, but then you also talk a little louder. The waitresses were all very friendly, especially the trainees. Food delicious. Fixed service. Only four stars because the tables were unfortunately not wiped down and the prices are really high.

Very unfriendly service. We arrived at 4 p.m., the restaurant was completely empty, and yet we were offered a very small high table because all the tables were already “taken”. When asked about a deeper table, the waiter reacted very unfriendly. Not a good service culture.

Traditional Bavarian restaurant, a locals' favourite. A short menu of good homemade food, mostly meat options. Waiter didn't speak English, nor they have an English menu, but we managed anyway.

The food at the Spiegelwirt was delicious, the atmosphere was rustic and relaxed - as you know it well from Bavarian restaurants. The service was quite nice. In terms of price, I think it's exaggerated that a Spezi costs more than a beer. In my opinion, I find dogs in restaurants rather inappropriate. Especially when they are still chewing on their pig's ear on the floor.

The taste of the food was excellent and the portion was also well sized. Everything really looked very tasty. The room was beautifully decorated with hops and everything was clean.

What can I say, I've always been happy with the Spieglwirt. But I think it's cheeky to charge €40 for a white sausage breakfast for 3 p. each with a drink and a pretzel. In addition, the white sausages were very tiny and were probably intended for small children. Therefore I will avoid the Spiegl for the time being. A little tip: take a look at Ramersdorf or Dreimühlen - I say only €2.95 😉

For the fourth time in the beautiful Spieglwirt. Food is delicious, fresh and good portion every time. The Augustiner from the wooden barrel is of course a stunner. The service is now at a good level, attentive and fast. Addition: after the 6th visit, the quality of the food has remained at a high level and the service is now courteous and friendly! Be sure to always reserve! I can particularly recommend the onion roast, the Franconian Schäufele (weekend) and if on the daily menu: the spare ribs. It's great that there are always special seasonal dishes, the "Goose Young" was a highlight!

Very good food and friendly service and the landlord is also friendly. To all those who complained at the beginning. It's very clear that the staff has to get together first and if I constantly talk stupidly and insult the staff who are running their heads off, I have to expect that I'll sometimes get a not so nice answer. Some people forget that there are people working here and they are just as vulnerable as any human being. Give the landlord and his staff some time and we will all be happy again to have a good economy in Moosach. If you haven't noticed yet, the landlord responded to the menu within 10 days and changed it, which I think is professional. I can imagine him doing this more often in the next few months to satisfy the guests.

Here the innkeeper (and Augustiner?) spent a lot of money on good interior design. Everything is very high quality. Food great. Service quick and friendly.

What can I say? As you know, you can argue about food and my taste is not the deciding factor, but I enjoyed it excellently We had Schäufele and a Wiener Schnitzel - that was excellent. There was really nothing to complain about. Fine fruit brandies from Prinz, fresh Augustiner beer on tap The staff was stressed and yet nice, friendly and attentive - absolutely outstanding. The ambience is rustic and really has the atmosphere of a typical Bavarian inn - there's nothing to complain about. Tables, seating and everything else is clean and inviting. Great, I liked it - I will definitely come back there

Unfortunately I was disappointed Service: hectic, unfriendly Duck: bone dry, still in the stomach hours later tough and fibrous A Munich woman like me expects high-quality food when having a Bavarian meal in an Augustiner restaurant (and especially there!)...

We have been to this restaurant twice. It's close to home and when it reopened we thought we'd become regulars. But unfortunately the service is terrible, never friendly. The waiter comes to your table, puts the menu down, doesn't ask if you want something to drink, disappears for 20 minutes and leaves you waiting for ages. Even if there aren't that many guests. The food is good, sometimes the seasonal menu has very small portions. Another aspect is the reservation, it is almost impossible to reach them by phone. That's why we are regular guests at the “Alten Wirt Moosach” around the corner, where we are always greeted with a smile and receive very good food and service.

Food is great but the service ai ai ai terrible! It takes forever for someone to come. I am waiting here 15 mins, i saw that waiters so me walk in but nothing. Leaving to go eat somewhere else

Das Essen war gut aber der Service sehr schlecht. Die Bedienung teilte uns mit, dass ein zusätzlicher Teller und ein zusätzliches Glas für ein 2 jähriges Kind extra boniert werden muss. Für uns kaum zu glauben. Einen weiteren Besuch des Wirtshauses werden wir uns nicht genehmigen.

Have been there a few times since it reopened. Today for the last time. The quality of the food has deteriorated extremely. Soup totally over salted, burger and duck with no taste. The starter and main course came at the same time. When I asked what was going on, the waiter said: Otherwise the others would have had to wait because of me. The side salad also came 20 minutes earlier. Couldn't they have brought the soups at that time?? So that's an interesting statement for me. Food was also served cold. It's a shame, but I'll go a few meters further to the Alten Wirt or Burgers.

The food was okay, but the service was unfortunately very bad. Totally confused and our drinks were empty for 30 minutes before the second order. We were there for Schafkopfen. Of course the innkeeper can decide whether gambling is allowed in the inn or not, but the boss was incredibly unfriendly, told us to stop playing immediately and came up with theories about illegal gambling. As an innkeeper, I expect to be informed about the legal situation and not to spread any false beliefs.

Food great. Alcohol-free wheat with cola is not good for Franconia, you get a lot of foam. Oktoberfest is moderate but tastes very good.

The beef shreds were very tasty, but breaded beef schnitzel is not a good idea, very stringy and hardly edible. Nice atmosphere and friendly service.

Best schnitzel I've ever eaten. The schnitzel had a very subtle butter note. Absolutely tender meat. The portion is extremely large. Big compliments to the kitchen. Definitely the best schnitzel in Munich.

We were there for lunch. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. We had pancake soup and Schäufele as the main course. Both were very tasty. The service was also very, very friendly. We'll go there again.

As Moosachers, we have known the Spieglwirt for around 100 years. When we were at school and when we were teenagers, we were never (almost) in Boazn. And now under the Augustiner again: In our opinion, unworthy of a Bavarian economy. In our opinion, the roast pork is from the steamer and the crust is included as convenience food (shape and texture do not match) for 16.00 euros. The service is poor, slow and snooty when asked. The menu had to be cut down without burgers etc. (occasionally scallops) and reduced to a few, changing, authentically Bavarian dishes. The original guest rooms have been well decorated. Seasonally, however, kitschy decorations could be avoided. Too bad!

Excellent clean local gastropub worth the 10 minute walk from the station away from main tourist area. Highly recommend. The restaurant is open all afternoon. There is an interesting history to this establishment...it started its life as a farmhouse. The walls are decorated with old photographs of the building and surrounding area Visited with my family of 7 on a Wednesday lunchtime in August during a trip to the Magic Bavaria attraction. We wanted proper food....not shopping centre fast food outlets. Our server was very patient. We had dietary requirements including gluten free and low carb.  All 7 dishes we ordered were delicious (although we had to send the roast pork back to the kitchen to be cooked more....but it seems to be standard in many European countries for pork to be served pink) - we had ox shreds which came with a fruity jus (gravy) which balanced the flavour well; turkey schnitzel; roast beef (pan fried); tomahawk of iberico pork was very tasty: steak salad.  Great cultural stop off.

Despite having a reservation, we didn't get a table. In addition, the waitresses were very indifferent and rude. Disappointing!

A wonderfully restored place of an ancient inn, which was fortunately taken over by the Augustinians to be prepared and create this wonderful ambience. The restaurant offers rooms of different sizes plus two beer gardens. The food is at a top level and tastes excellent. The prices are proportionate. There are new dishes on the menu regularly, alongside the existing classics of course. Every day there is a lunch special at a reduced price or a daily special. Since the restaurant is always quite busy, it doesn't hurt to make a reservation or be there on time.

One thing in advance: the quality was okay! Attracted by the notice, we bought plugfish. 2 rather small mackerels without any side dish to take away cost us a whopping €39 (!!!), even though we didn't order any beluga caviar. I might have enjoyed the fish if I hadn't been sick from paying. That’s just too much for Munich too! Either you have a money printing machine or you still think such prices are reasonable because you have too much money. Just decide for yourself.

The food was ok, but rather disappointing compared to other pubs, and the offerings were particularly unconvincing. What was worse, however, was the service. We are from Germany but currently live in America and are used to other things, but a basic level of warmth should be part of every restaurant. I come in and the woman in the dirndl just looks down on me. It took several minutes for a waiter to show me a seat. The crowning glory, however, was the waiter. A dark-skinned man who felt humiliated serving other people of color. Unfortunately, there are people with a migration background who feel humiliated. Very unfriendly, he couldn't even hide it. Never a smile, the food was thrown on the table instead of put. And after all that, he expected a tip too!! That's what annoys me the most, that very little emphasis is placed on service and then people still complain if you don't get a tip. We heard him complaining about us because we forked out €270 without a tip. If the waiter doesn't even manage to show the minimum level of friendliness, then that's pure disgrace. Different country, different customs; It's a shame that warmth comes last in many German restaurants.
