Best schnitzel I've ever eaten. The schnitzel had a very subtle butter note. Absolutely tender meat. The portion is extremely large. Big compliments to the kitchen. Definitely the best schnitzel in Munich.

We were there for lunch. The menu offers a wide selection of dishes. We had pancake soup and Schäufele as the main course. Both were very tasty. The service was also very, very friendly. We'll go there again.

The food is really good, the house-made bread is great. Unfortunately there are too few waitresses; You have to wait quite a long time for your first beer. But otherwise a beautiful old inn, lovingly restored. Augustinians!

You wouldn't have guessed: really tasty food at a low price, considering Munich tourist standards.

As Moosachers, we have known the Spieglwirt for around 100 years. When we were at school and when we were teenagers, we were never (almost) in Boazn. And now under the Augustiner again: In our opinion, unworthy of a Bavarian economy. In our opinion, the roast pork is from the steamer and the crust is included as convenience food (shape and texture do not match) for 16.00 euros. The service is poor, slow and snooty when asked. The menu had to be cut down without burgers etc. (occasionally scallops) and reduced to a few, changing, authentically Bavarian dishes. The original guest rooms have been well decorated. Seasonally, however, kitschy decorations could be avoided. Too bad!

There is an interesting history to this establishment...it started its life as a farmhouse. The walls are decorated with old photographs of the building and surrounding area Visited with my family of 7 on a Wednesday lunchtime in August during a trip to the Magic Bavaria attraction. We wanted proper food....not shopping centre fast food outlets. Our server was very patient. We had dietary requirements including gluten free and low carb.  All 7 dishes we ordered were delicious (although we had to send the roast pork back to the kitchen to be cooked more....but it seems to be standard in many European countries for pork to be served pink) - we had ox shreds which came with a fruity jus (gravy) which balanced the flavour well; turkey schnitzel; roast beef (pan fried); tomahawk of iberico pork was very tasty: steak salad.  Great cultural stop off.

Despite having a reservation, we didn't get a table. In addition, the waitresses were very indifferent and rude. Disappointing!

A wonderfully restored place of an ancient inn, which was fortunately taken over by the Augustinians to be prepared and create this wonderful ambience. The restaurant offers rooms of different sizes plus two beer gardens. The food is at a top level and tastes excellent. The prices are proportionate. There are new dishes on the menu regularly, alongside the existing classics of course. Every day there is a lunch special at a reduced price or a daily special. Since the restaurant is always quite busy, it doesn't hurt to make a reservation or be there on time.

The food was ok, but rather disappointing compared to other pubs, and the offerings were particularly unconvincing. What was worse, however, was the service. We are from Germany but currently live in America and are used to other things, but a basic level of warmth should be part of every restaurant. I come in and the woman in the dirndl just looks down on me. It took several minutes for a waiter to show me a seat. The crowning glory, however, was the waiter. A dark-skinned man who felt humiliated serving other people of color. Unfortunately, there are people with a migration background who feel humiliated. Very unfriendly, he couldn't even hide it. Never a smile, the food was thrown on the table instead of put. And after all that, he expected a tip too!! That's what annoys me the most, that very little emphasis is placed on service and then people still complain if you don't get a tip. We heard him complaining about us because we forked out €270 without a tip. If the waiter doesn't even manage to show the minimum level of friendliness, then that's pure disgrace. Different country, different customs; It's a shame that warmth comes last in many German restaurants.

One thing in advance: the quality was okay! Attracted by the notice, we bought plugfish. 2 rather small mackerels without any side dish to take away cost us a whopping €39 (!!!), even though we didn't order any beluga caviar. I might have enjoyed the fish if I hadn't been sick from paying. That’s just too much for Munich too! Either you have a money printing machine or you still think such prices are reasonable because you have too much money. Just decide for yourself.

A nice restaurant with a nice beer garden that is well located in the middle of Moosach. I recommend trying the Schäufele.

On my first visit to Munich I wanted to try something traditionally Bavarian, so I chose the white sausage with a pretzel. This was my first white sausage 🙈 and I have to say, yes you can eat it, only the sweet mustard is not my thing. For dessert I had the Kaiserschmarren, which was good, but at €16.90 it was a hefty price. I personally really liked the restaurant, that's how I imagine a Bavarian restaurant and great toilets. Waitress was friendly and was able to give lots of advice, including how to eat the white sausage. So definitely take a look.

Catering could be faster. Pig often tastes like pork (Schäufele)

Never again! Unfriendly service, everything takes forever. Soggy and because there was no tip for the lousy service, they tried to cheat you out of 10 euros when you collected the money. Snotty.

Great economy, I was in great hands during our family celebration. The food was really very good.

Never again, the service person with black hair and glasses is overwhelmed, snaps at the guests, was there for about an hour, there alone 4 times

Good location, but... Last year 2023, we waited a long time for a free place, "why didn't you reserve" was the Bavarian's stroppy answer. This year we were smarter. Reserved for outside in the beer garden. When you arrive, you have the same rude attitude and hear "reservations aren't made outside in the beer garden." Fooling is never a good idea, which idiot makes a reservation for inside in midsummer. Nevertheless, we got a place, just lucky. Then at 7 p.m. some dishes “Schäufele for example” were no longer available. On a Monday. Doesn't matter. The rest was ok. The service was nice, the food was ok too. In my opinion, last year, better. Now we go back to the “old innkeeper”

Wow when you see the prices on the map. It's cheaper on Lake Starnberg and the seating is much nicer. Food was ok. Big portion. In the future, just one portion for two, then the price will be right again 😉

I grew up in Moosach and was really hoping that the store would flourish after it reopened. Unfortunately that didn't happen. 1. We had reserved three people for you. When we arrived we were told there was no reservation in our name. We should just sit down somewhere free. That is embarrassing. 2. The schnitzel, actually a house discipline, came with a completely over-salted breading; the potatoes were overcooked and had no taste. 3. The burger was a tragedy. Frozen patty, completely overcooked, beautifully concealed by the heavy sauce. 4. We didn't get cutlery until we asked for it. 5. No toilet paper in the men's toilet. If you have to go big, you have a problem. If you charge 32 euros for dishes in some places, I assume that the overall concept works. But no. It's a good thing they serve beer, because that's how they'll certainly bring in the customers. We'll never go there again. That hurts the heart of a Moosacher.

Very nice atmosphere, also in the beer garden. Especially for the fact that it is located right on the street. Here you get good service and high quality food for your money.

Simply fantastic. From the first moment you feel super comfortable and when an ice-cold Augustiner from the barrel arrives with a great meal (no matter what you order there) everything is perfect. Absolute recommendation! The staff is not only stylish in traditional costumes but also very friendly and on the ball. Many thanks to the whole team, it was once again great and great :)

I had Killian's Beast and it was one of the greatest burgers I've had in Munich. 400 grams of Black angus beef, sunny side up egg cooked to perfection and a great burger sauce.

If you consider what the old Spiegl looked like before, today it has become a real gem!! >Augustiner< restored it with great effort and a lot of love and brought it to life - fantastically beautiful! Extremely comfortable, as you would expect from AUGUSTINER! As always, delicious and varied cuisine/menu, very nice, attentive waiters - thanks to Robert and Andreas for the lovely evening - and very well attended (reservations would be an advantage, especially for groups;)^^) Prices a bit steep, but definitely justified and the Augustiner is the best, smoothest beer in Munich anyway (our opinion) 🍺🍻😋😋It's always a pleasure to come here!! Absolutely great Augustinian host. 5 🌟 Plus! About 10 minutes from the Olympic Park you can find fresh beer and fantastic food here. The roast pork is a poem: tender meat, not very streaky, dark, strong sauce, large potato dumplings and coleslaw. On top a piece of crispy crust. Also highly recommended: the Styrian schnitzel with pumpkin seed breading and potato salad with pumpkin seed oil. If possible, be sure to sit in the new Moosacher Stadl, a beautifully renovated barn with hops everywhere. Looks great! The service was super nice and attentive. The only drawback: finding a parking space. But that works somehow.

Super accommodating staff. It's a large place that's easily able to accommodate large groups in separate rooms and areas. In our case, we were a group of about 25 people and the manager very graciously accommodated us on very short notice.

Here again we had a delicious meal and enjoyed typical Bavarian beer. Thank you

Very good food and friendly staff, gladly again

An unfortunately rather disappointing visit to the Spieglwirt. I ordered the turkey schnitzel from Grill and it didn't arrive. After I asked to fry it again so that it was done, the plate was taken away and returned after a short time. Unfortunately, it looked like only the raw part had been cut off and the rest of the plate looked the same as before. That means the fries are still in the juice from the raw meat that I was initially served. In addition, the portion was unfortunately a bit sparse. Unfortunately I can't recommend a visit for dinner, but you can sit down for a beer...

The food here is really excellent. In the meantime, we keep coming back and always enjoy it.

Be careful with fried chicken! The fried chicken was extremely puny, more like a small children's portion. And that for 21.90 euros. The rest of my friends ate spare ribs, burgers and shredded beef. The portions were usual and sufficient. When it came to fried chicken, however, it was an outrage. When I asked mischievously where the rest of the chicken was, the only answer I got from the waiter was that it was fine and if I wanted more, I should just order another shirt. I then asked for a pretzel, which he generously gave me. I don't know if that was just an exception, but the Spieglwirt won't see me again any time soon. And neither do my friends. It's a shame actually. Unfortunately I didn't take a photo to prove it.

The Spieglwirt location impresses with its traditional charm and the food is excellent, even if the prices seem high even by Munich standards (e.g. 0.75l of water for €6.90). The service staff is consistently friendly and helpful - we would especially like to thank Bibi and Alex for their above-average service at our wedding. Unfortunately, the experience of organizing an event, our wedding, was not satisfactory. Despite the beautiful end results, the path there was full of obstacles and frustrations: • The expected professionalism left much to be desired. Offers were full of spelling errors and communication via email was difficult as not all questions were often answered. Reachability by telephone, especially the organizer Ms. W., was also inadequate. Spontaneous questions were difficult. Agreed appointments were sometimes not kept and when asked, they did not apologize but simply stated that “we just don’t always have time”. • Agreements were not kept, which led to deviations in the menus (e.g. salmon tartare with avocado cream instead of salmon avocado tartare, although this was vehemently denied in the menu consultation, and normal bread instead of bread chips). After detailed discussions via email shortly before the event, there were significant errors in the implementation (e.g. incorrect room design despite the room plan). Despite our efforts to present our wishes and ideas in detail, they were only partially taken into account. When we tried to assert our concerns, we were sometimes treated rudely (by the landlady/organizer). • The landlady often shows unprofessional behavior, especially in her verbal and non-verbal communication, which was noticed and commented on even by our guests at the wedding, which made us very uncomfortable on this special day. The innkeeper himself appeared friendly on the surface, but we found out that he also made negative comments behind our backs, but not far enough away from our guests. • There were items on the final invoice that had never been communicated before (e.g. costs for bar tables), including unexpected costs that, according to our understanding and the current offer, should have already been included in the menu price. (double billing) We owe the fact that our day was ultimately wonderful to our private circle and the dedicated service staff. We would recommend the Spieglwirt for private restaurant visits (even if we will no longer visit it ourselves), but we strongly advise against planning larger and, above all, important events here.

Great beer garden with a large selection of daily specials. The Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended! The service could be friendlier, but stopped by the table regularly.

Wonderfully renovated Augustiner with very good cuisine.

Very attentive and nice service. The food was really delicious. Bavarian traditional. We ordered dumplings with roast pork and schnitzel with fries. Large portions and enough seasoning. A coleslaw and mixed salad also came with it. Delicious. At the end Kaiserschmarrn, which was beautifully served with berries. If you want to go out for a traditional Bavarian meal, you'll be well served here. Costs are around €20-30 per person, including drinks

For the fourth time in the beautiful Spieglwirt. Food is delicious, fresh and good portion every time. The Augustiner from the wooden barrel is of course a stunner. The service is slowly improving, but could still be friendlier. Addition: after the 6th visit, the quality of the food has remained at a high level and the service is now courteous and friendly! Be sure to always reserve! I can particularly recommend the onion roast, the Franconian Schäufele (weekend) and if on the daily menu: the spare ribs.

Really cool Bavarian experience

The beer garden was very full, so we only got a Tischit bar stool which is far too small for large dishes. The ambience is typical of a beer garden, so the furniture is rustic, old and dark. The waitress was on the ball and only had a problem understanding when I ordered a banana wheat, only a normal one came. The food came quickly and was tasty, and the prices were also high, which is probably normal for Munich. In any case, a house for €21.90 was too expensive for me. I had two pieces of roast pork with dark sauce and a potato dumpling, along with a coleslaw with caraway seeds. A colleague had ox steaks and drank first a dark and then a light wheat beer. Everything was good and fried it was juicy.

We've waited so long for the Spiegl to open again and now this: prices like in the Schickimicki Tempel on Maximilianstrasse, you can't think of anything else, Moosach is a district with normal earners! Onion roast now €31.50!! 0.2 liter Lugana €10, with all my love, what were you thinking? When you stand in the beautifully renovated new premises and look for help, you don't have to wait for the staff to ask you if you can help in any way. Friendliness and customer orientation are different... If this is going to be the Alte Wirt 2.0, congratulations, you're well on your way to it. We might try it again for a pint of beer in the garden, but nothing more. We prefer to continue driving to the green tree, as the price and performance are at least appropriate.

Great roast pork (it really couldn't be better), fantastic fried chicken (Pollo fino, nothing just breaded breast!), and you really have to try the Augustiner alcohol-free, it's great, the service is on point, friendly despite being packed (on a normal Tuesday evening, That says it all!), it's a shame that Schäufele is only available from Friday to Monday

Very nice, rustic Bavarian restaurant with Augustiner Hellem from the barrel. The interior is terrific. The staff is very friendly, quick and accommodating. The outside area fits. Actually 6 out of 5 stars if you're looking for an original economy. No self-service outside and card payments from €15.

The best roast pork I've ever eaten! Kaiserschmarn was beautifully decorated and tasted fantastic! Staff exceptionally friendly. A huge recommendation!

Service very friendly and quick, food good. Unfortunately, at 7 p.m., the manager for the subsequent reservation (7:30 p.m.) slammed it onto the table without saying a word. 10 minutes later she told us “we have to get together now”. When we politely said we would pay and then a colleague tried to bring up the conversation about the way we were treated, he was rudely interrupted. Dear landlady: the sound makes the music. Guests like us understand everything if we are treated in a somewhat friendly manner. They won't see me in their inn again.

Fantastic place. Ambience authentically Bavarian, but not too much. Service also competent, friendly despite the full house. We didn't reserve a table, but we were lucky and got a table. Eating outside was not possible due to bad weather.

We ordered steak with pepper sauce, and it was absolutely delicious 😋. Also, we ordered the menu for the day, which was hamburger mit potatoes, and the flavour was nice. The others' dishes were good as well. The atmosphere was nice and the waiter was a really nice person.

We were here for lunch. There was roast pork and Schäufele. Quality of the Schäufele was good, price performance is also good. A small salad or coleslaw was included.

Service is on point. And the beer has now been properly poured again.
