Augustiner Spieglwirt in München

Sorry, that's unacceptable. Yesterday I was in the bar for about 90 minutes, there were three of us drinking beer, and we received a bill for 19 half-liters. I had a similar experience two days ago, even though we agreed to pay the difference. I won't be going back to that place.

The food was excellent. Our friendly server was simply perfect. The pub is very cozy, and on top of that, they have the best beer in town.

We were invited to a birthday party on November 29, 2025. The second main course was supposed to be roast veal with creamed chanterelles, spaetzle, and buttered vegetables. What we were served was roast veal with mushrooms in an unidentifiable sauce that tasted awful and looked like it came from Knorr, along with spaetzle. The buttered vegetables were also missing. Without asking beforehand if we wanted them, the dish was simply changed and served. When we asked the server where the chanterelles and buttered vegetables were, she simply replied, "Do you want them or not?" We feel that this kind of thing is unacceptable in a renowned restaurant like the Spieglwirt, especially given its price range. It has deterred us from returning or holding another celebration there. The roast pork was okay, but it could have been better.

Everyone was very friendly, even though it was crowded and the staff were constantly busy. There were actually more seats available for me since we hadn't made a reservation. However, they found a solution for that. They're currently even serving mulled wine and crêpes outside. The food arrived within three minutes and was absolutely delicious.

Very good local food, and a varied menu. The service was excellent and you get the real Munich feeling in this place. The price level is welcoming and the hostess makes you feel like home. Would recommend to anyone passing by this location.

These days, if you go to a traditional inn and they offer chanterelle sauce, you'll get a creamy sauce with three or four token chanterelles. Not so at the Spieglwirt! Here, the chanterelle sauce actually lives up to its name and is very tasty. After the generous portion of filet mignon with chanterelle sauce and Spätzle, or the Schäuferle (roast pork shoulder) with potato dumplings (which even contained breadcrumbs) and plenty of gravy, we unfortunately had to forgo the delicious-looking Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake). It was simply enough. But we will definitely be back. The extremely friendly and efficient waiter took note of this with pleasure! A stroll through the beautiful dining rooms further encouraged us. Thank you very much and best regards! See you tomorrow... 😃 Update: November 11, 2025, St. Martin's Day! The best goose I have ever eaten. The service was very friendly, and the waiter in the cupboard was absolutely hilarious. A restaurant that is highly recommended!

For me, it's the best Augustiner Wirtschaft in Munich. The ambiance is very tasteful, with attention to detail. The service is exceptional, with highly trained and extremely friendly staff—simply fantastic. This isn't often the case these days. The roast pork is one of the best in Munich. The price is perfectly reasonable.

I had a chili burger that wasn't spicy at all. Absolutely no spice whatsoever. Otherwise, the beer and the atmosphere were great! We had to wait a very long time before we could order another round of beer.

Very pleasant atmosphere and quick service - nicely furnished and everything was perfect.

This is where people go. Whether it's for a pick-me-up, a break from work, or a workout, it's cozy here, even when it's packed! The owner, his wife, and all the waiters and waitresses are warm and friendly, just like you'd find in a local pub. Make sure you book a reservation, especially in fall and winter!

We were there on October 19, 2025. We didn't feel comfortable there.

A cozy atmosphere in a lovely Bavarian restaurant. The food was very good. I had the oven-fresh roast pork with dark beer sauce, which was very tasty. I ordered bread dumplings instead of potato dumplings. My wife ordered the Nuremberg bratwurst with homemade sauerkraut, which was really delicious. We'll be back.

Formerly a bar for professional alcoholics, after a renovation years ago, it's now a lovely Bavarian pub in the heart of Moosach with good food and great service. It's absolutely excellent value for money.

Crustacean Week without crustaceans & Church Fair without goose! Despite reservations and expressing our desire, we didn't get any. We're always delighted by the excellent food and the wonderful atmosphere.

We came during crustacean week but there were no crustaceans 😅 then there was also the problem that the waiter said that nothing else was available and then when we ordered our food we were told that the goose was also sold out... actually our experience was very good but this time it was unacceptable.

My husband and I are regulars. The food, quality, and service are always excellent. Even when it's very busy and we just want a drink, all the service staff try to find two more seats for us. I don't understand the negative comments. Reservations are always possible, but when the place is full, you have to be understanding if you can't get a reservation. The full house explains how good the Spiegelwirt is. Misunderstandings can occur in any business; that's human nature and no reason for a bad review. We always enjoy coming back.

All in all it was great, wonderful atmosphere and we had great service, beer 🍻 was also very tasty.

I go to the Spieglwirt every now and then. The service is excellent, and the food is just as good, but it's always a bit too loud.

Absolutely perfect place to get a great meal, have very friendly service and enjoy a taste of real Bavarian restaurant. I eat here there evenings and definitely will come back while I’ll be back in Munich. Really bored from restaurants in center of town cause they look for mass production. Here is looking for quality food and great hospitality. I’m lucky that I found this place. And I’m not classic guest, I’m tour guide in Europe and mostly of my food is in restaurants. Outrageous! Unfortunately, I couldn't give zero stars! We made a reservation for 12 people and they gave us a table for 10! The boss only came along after a long discussion and was extremely rude - her "it's like the Oktoberfest" speech. If I want it like the Oktoberfest, then I'll go to the Oktoberfest while it's already Oktoberfest season! Her comment that she hadn't known beforehand that our group consisted of more than just 60 kg people was also an absolute disgrace! The food has been getting worse for years and we wanted to give the place one last chance today, but with such an impudent, snooty boss, no chance! She can just sit at the edge of a table herself and sip her champagne - we'll see how she feels about making a reservation in advance! With a pre-calculation, you can also refuse reservations - but that was apparently a foreign concept to her. I will never set foot in this place again!

The restaurant is truly quaint, the beer garden is cozy, the food is delicious and beautifully presented, and the price-performance ratio is excellent. The service is very friendly and accommodating. Reservations are recommended... I forgot to take photos again 😔, but I highly recommend the ox rags.

The food was delicious, the beer garden was nice. Service was okay. One star deducted because the side dishes were very limited and the lettuce on the burger was already dark. Vegetarian options are also available.

When the Augustinian Foundation brings old buildings back to life and turns them into a guesthouse, something good always comes out of it.

What lovely service. The waitress was very friendly and attentive—she seemed born to work in the restaurant business. It would be wonderful if everyone could put so much passion into their work. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere in the beer garden was also very pleasant.

The Gasthaus Spiegelwirt in Munich is very cozy and inviting. While the tables are a bit closer together, the restaurant impresses with exceptionally friendly service and truly delicious food. We felt very comfortable and would gladly return!

Everything's been fine so far. Delicious in August, nice and cold, good atmosphere, friendly service. At peak times, you might have to wait a bit, but everything's within reason. The roast pork was very good, tasty sauce, and the dumplings were OK. Only the coleslaw wasn't my thing; it had a strange aftertaste and was veeeery salty. I'd go back.

We've been coming to the Spiegelwirt in Moosach regularly since it opened. Four years ago, we were very satisfied. Unfortunately, the service has been consistently poor for years. We've left the restaurant several times because we weren't served after waiting 20 minutes. Today I wanted to give you another chance...unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The roast pork was far too salty, I didn't like the meat, the sauce was far too thick...not fresh...the roast pork crust was really bad...please see my photos! Unfortunately, we won't be eating there anymore!

Super delicious, both the non-alcoholic beer and the food. The service was also excellent. It was no problem for us to eat there with a stroller, and there was plenty of space. Thanks to the friendly staff for not making me uncomfortable while I was breastfeeding and our child was crying.

I had the Styrian schnitzel with potato salad for 21.90. It was two thin schnitzels and a small amount of potato salad. The preparation was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. Unfortunately, I wouldn't recommend the food. The setting is very nice, and the service was fine.

The meat is good, the place has a typically German feel, and I recommend it. Perhaps they're a bit short on female staff; I think I've only seen male waiters the two times I've been there.
