A very impressive building and a very nice ambiance. The food was delicious and plentiful.

Review for Restaurant Athos I've rarely experienced such a terrible restaurant experience as this one. The food arrived cold – and when I asked the waitress about it, all I got was a simple reply: "Maybe it had been sitting in the kitchen too long." Honestly: What does that mean? Does that mean, in plain English, that the guest should just accept it? A complete no-go for me! The whole experience was disappointing from start to finish. The presentation should have been a cause for concern: carelessly slapped onto the plate, no effort, no attention to detail. The saying "You eat with your eyes" is apparently completely unknown here – people here tend to eat with their eyes closed so they don't have to see the tragedy. And then the portions: tiny, so there was hardly anything on the plate, as if the guest was deliberately left to starve. At the same time, the prices are completely exorbitant – far too expensive for what's being served. It feels like you're just being asked to throw money away without getting any quality, taste, or any kind of service in return. The atmosphere was anything but pleasant. You don't feel welcome, but rather brushed off. No smile, no friendliness, no sense of service. It's simply: here, eat or go. It's clear to me: This was a waste of money and a complete waste of time. I'm not just disappointed, I'm angry! Anyone who treats guests like this should seriously consider whether they're in the right place in the hospitality industry. I can only advise everyone not to go here. A terrible evening that I won't soon forget – but definitely only in a negative sense. Summary of the evening: cold, uncaring, overpriced, poor service, zero atmosphere. Simply miserable. Not even worth a single star.

We've been to this restaurant twice now and were very disappointed both times. On the first visit, we had to wait over an hour for our food with small children. The second time, we still wanted to give the restaurant another chance – but again, no food arrived. Other guests who arrived after us were served, while we, despite asking, were left empty-handed. Ultimately, we had to leave the restaurant hungry because the ordering system was apparently malfunctioning. Unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend it.

The food was delicious. We felt very comfortable. After paying, I was a little disappointed. All the guests received a glass of ouzo as a farewell, except for us. Not that I was particularly keen on it, but the gesture counts. The important thing was that the food was delicious, and we would come back again and again.

Extremely overpriced, and hardly any staff speak any German. The food came from the deep fryer and was completely oily. The meat was old and not tender. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!!

I was there yesterday with my mother for dinner. They apparently addressed my criticism from several months ago about the ouzo, as well as my request that rice be added to the Athos plate. Very good! They gave me plenty of ouzo on the house. The service was very, very good and very, very friendly. The food was exactly what I expected. Very tasty! I/we would gladly come back.

Beautiful restaurant, the food was very good and plentiful. I also found the service very good, always making sure the customer had everything they needed. I appreciated that they offered a free ouzo every now and then. Unfortunately, it's very noisy inside. It's difficult to have a conversation here. The noise level was as loud as being at a train station. The attentive guest will also notice that many areas are in need of renovation, and that nothing has been done to maintain the value of the building for a long time.

While staying overnight in Greifswald, we were recommended the Athos restaurant. It was a great recommendation. We received a very friendly welcome on the terrace, drinks were brought quickly, and the food didn't take long either. Large and very tasty portions, even though we had chosen a "small meal." The price was right, too. We highly recommend the Athos.

The liver could have been cooked a little longer. Otherwise, everything was great.

It was ordered and was delivered. It was stated 1 hour after 1.5 hours and repeated calls, it finally came. Food was cold. Staff on the phone unfriendly..

We wanted to have a down-to-earth meal with my in-laws and this was the right place for us. We received extremely friendly service and this was especially true for my older in-laws. The food was excellent, very tasty and more than sufficient. It was easy to pack the extensive 'leftovers' in a suitable form. Thanks P.S.: The reviews from some here 2 months ago are embarrassing and these people should think about what they write here.

Absolutes nogo! Man wird schon mit Ouzo empfangen und hat dann Skrupel zu gehen wenn man feststellt, die Preise im Netz liegen ca. 4-6€ unter denen auf der Karte, die dann ausgehändigt wird. Der Salat kam dann in einer Plastikschüssel und war zum Teil welk, das Essen nur optisch wertvoll aber fad, trocken und geschmacklos. Schlussendlich ist das Restaurant auch alt, muffig und abgewrackt.

This used to be our regular Greek. There was ouzo when ordering and paying and sometimes one in between and children got a children's ouzo. All of this no longer exists. After we ordered our drinks yesterday and the food came, we weren't asked for drinks again for hours throughout the evening, and no one came to the table anymore. Unbelievable. All the glasses were empty but it was not possible to attract another waiter. Since no one came for hours, we eventually went to the counter ourselves to pay. Here we were asked whether to pay by card or cash. We were three families and we all wanted to pay by card. Apparently they could only collect in >one< sum, although we noticed that all families wanted to pay separately. Unfortunately that wasn't possible either. So we had to figure out the bill ourselves. What a bad service. Underground! Unfortunately, we had already had extremely bad experiences with this Greek restaurant the last two times (service and disproportionate price increases), but we wanted to give him another chance (for the sake of the good old days!). But since it was so bad there again and again, that was our last visit to ATHOS. Fortunately, the Greek restaurant in Gahlkow will be opening again in May!

Despite the reservation, my companion and I had to just stand around for a long time until we were directed to a table. No greeting, then sat at the table for 20 minutes without anyone coming. So completely ignored!!! Got up and left. Either new operator or wrong staff. It's a shame, we always enjoyed going there.

The restaurant itself is quite nice, and the food is delicious too. But the delivery service and the associated staff are very rude, brazen and cheeky. Although we never met the driver in person. After waiting 1.5 hours, I called to find out how long it would take, as we also have a small child with us who is hungry and needs to go to bed early. The answer was "the driver is close". Whatever that meant. After another half hour, I called again because the food hadn't arrived yet. Again “the driver is close”. The third time I called, I was put off again and then left waiting on the phone for 15 minutes, which I had to hang up and call again to find out whether our food was still coming or not. Conclusion, we waited 3 hours for our food and never got it.

Should and should renovate and the interior is really worn out. Seat covers are as old as the Greek ones there are. The food was also much better after a while. Not recommended...

It was just terrible. We ordered soup for 4 euros something. The whole thing was in the bag. Everything we ordered was reheated in the microwave. The meat was fatty, couldn't taste any other way. We also took photos if anyone would like to see what they sell as “soup”. The boss was very unfriendly and not much help. Please again, if you're reading this, don't cook anymore because it's not going well. The delivery was quick, it can't be that that's why everything was cold.

We ordered through Lieferando and all of the food ran out and it's not Liferservice's fault! Pack up the food in the restaurant! The soup had run out, only the meat remained in the small can and it was €4.60 for what??? The main course wasn't fresh, it just tasted like fat, they just warmed it up in the microwave. French fries were also from yesterday and the rice wasn't cooked through either. The food in the restaurant may taste different, but what we got at home was just terrible. The boss was extremely rude on the phone and said that she had cooked the food and it couldn't be that it was cold. Very bad experience and we will never buy food from there again.

We've been coming here for years and have always been happy, but recently the food has deteriorated considerably. The portions have become very smaller and the prices have increased a lot, e.g.: the salad plate is only a small portion and the taste is no longer good. There used to be more on the plate, e.g.: corn and white cabbage are missing too, and savings are being made on the dressing. What we often noticed was that there were more and more things on the receipt that we hadn't even ordered. What's really bad is that the seating is very dirty and it doesn't look pleasant.

Became very overpriced. I have never paid for souflaki for 21.50 euros anywhere. There was no ouzo, which I've never experienced before. Service very bad, when we asked for an ouzo, the waiter asked us if we only came to drink ouzo, cheeky 😬

I've eaten there several times with my wife. We always like it. Since we love some things and not others, it is even possible to put together a dish there and have it prepared if you wish. I particularly like this openness to customer requests and I really like it. I always enjoy it with you and we will definitely come back again and again! This restaurant is a clear recommendation.

I ate a bifteki and threw up several times a few hours later. Some drinks that were on the menu were not available. It was very cold there. I'll never eat there again!

Unfortunately one of the few delivery services in the Greek area Food arrived completely cold. The delivery driver cannot change and therefore insists on a generous tip of over 4 euros despite the order being completely cold. If it weren't for Greifswald, they would have been bankrupt long ago

It was very pleasant to eat there. Service was friendly and very reliable despite the large number of customers. The food itself was also very good, I ordered when I was a little hungry and wasn't disappointed, it was just right, it wasn't too little and not too much. The salad was a bit watery, but that was forgotten after the main course! It was very tasty, gladly again!

It's a shame, the quality has deteriorated a lot!! Starters and salad were good. Except that it is now served on plastic plates. I don't think it's good. Food was only lukewarm. We had gyros that were so full of fat. The children had schnitzel that was so hard and dry that it was almost impossible to eat.

Our food was delivered incomplete - we were assumed to have paid too little, even though we gave the full price and a tip. We were supposed to pay for something we didn't get and the staff on the phone was very rude.

Top food with very friendly service, only the room is a bit noisy. You can pay by card or in cash.

The food was very tasty. The restaurant itself also looked beautiful. Nevertheless, one star was deducted because one of us had to wait a long time for our food and we all already had our food. But otherwise very, very nice restaurant with nicer decor both outside and inside.

From favorite Greek to super flop! Despite repeated notifications, the missing supplements were not given to us and in the end we were even billed. Some of the food was cold, the prices have been increased and the plates are definitely emptier. All in all, it was our last time here. It's a shame because it used to be our favorite Greek restaurant and we really enjoyed going there.

Everything tasted and looked great, but for me there was far too much meat in relation to the fries/rice/salad. But that's purely a question of taste and there are certainly enough guests who come for exactly that reason. For those who, like me, would like a little more rice, you should note this when ordering.

If it were possible, I wouldn't give it any stars, I placed the order at 6:32 p.m. and the food did not arrive until 9 p.m. I will never be a customer of this restaurant again.

Poor service, waited over 20 minutes for the order to be taken

I rarely write reviews, but at 80 euros for 2 people something has to come. It's a shame about the long waiting time, the anticipation was great after 1.5 hours when the food came. Large portions, yes they are, but it's a shame about the meat, first the rump steak was ordered medium, but then it came completely dry, the pork medallions were very toe, even the knife didn't want to go through. We're not talking about lamb chops. The dry and crumbly garlic bread from yesterday or earlier couldn't save the evening. The service was good, they took care of the guest.

We had a grill plate to be delivered. Our wish to leave out the liver was fulfilled in the delivery app. The delivery also came earlier than expected. The food was plentiful, so we were pretty full, and it was also very tasty. Above all, the gyro was excellent. But the other meat specialties were also very good and not fried to death. The fries were tasty, but still soggy - I think because of the delivery, but we'll accept that. The only point of criticism is the white bread that came with it. This was dry and inedible. Nonetheless, a very tasty and worthwhile meal. Ordered for the first time and we will do it again.

Unfortunately, far too expensive food for zero service and the little you get doesn't even fill you up! Not good in taste either! Ordered for the first time and immediately disappointed! Nothing justifies the price! Neither the canned pineapple nor the small pork fillet! Thank God there are other Greek restaurants in Greifswald!

We were at a mobile home park nearby and had lunch in this very nice restaurant. The restaurant is beautifully set up and our dishes from the lunch menu were plentiful and also well priced. Before and after the meal there was an ouzo and a starter soup with bread was also included. The restaurant's toilets were modern and clean. We can recommend this Greek restaurant!

Ich habe mich kurz entschlossen her zu kommen. Man schwankt ja oft wenn man Bewertungen liest. Aber ich wurde nicht nur freundlich, sondern auch schnell bedient. Das Essen kam schnell und war lecker! Portionen sind üppig und das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt! Ich komme bestimmt wieder!

We like to come to the ATHOS restaurant when we are in Greifswald. The service is friendly and very attentive. The food is delicious. We feel like we are with friends here. The food is not cheap but the quality is good. We got 2 rounds of ouzo on the house.

New upholstery for the seating would be appropriate because unfortunately it no longer looks so nice. (Very stained)

We had to wait 2 hours for the food.. and then the food got cold.. Tables are way too close together that you stand with the backs of the table behind you. There were also no more towels in the toilet and the toilet was not very clean. Ouzo is no longer available either.

Quiet atmosphere, attentive and friendly service. The food came quickly and was very tasty. A final espresso is highly recommended. Everything fitted.

Essen war lieblos zubereitete Tiefkühlkost. Keine Kartenzahlung möglich und der Salat war beim Ernten ansehnlicher wie auf dem Teller.

Das Essen war sehr gut und auch der Service war wirklich sehr nett. Doch leider ist die Einrichtung in diesem Restaurant in die Jahre gekommen, die Polster der Stühle und Bänke sind leider voller Flecken und auch im allgemeinen war das Ambiente jetzt nicht sehr ansprechend.

Essen geht so nichts besonderes. Viel zu laut dort. Weihnachtsdeko sehr gewöhnungsbedürftig. WC Haupttüren gehen nicht zu richtig ekelhaft. Personal oh man. Einer aufgehüpscht der andere sieht aus als wäre er Gast dort. Keine Struktur. Wir kommen nicht wieder.

Kurz und knapp:super tolles Essen, sehr freundliche Bedienung, schönes Lokal. Einzige Anregung.... Die Herren Toiletten waren sauber, aber bedürfen einiger Reparaturarbeiten. Fazit: Komme gerne wieder.

Sehr freundliches Personal und das Essen kam sehr schnell an den Tisch. Schönes Ambiente, man fühlt sich wie in einem griechischen Palast. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Musik war sehr laut. Ansonsten sehr zu empfehlen, gerne wieder. :-)

Ich hatte zwecks Geburtstag Überraschung einen Tisch mit Deko vorbestellt- der vergessen wurde. Der Rotwein war eiskalt und es wurde nicht geändert trotz mehrfachen hinweisen. Das Essen war mega Klasse, grosse Portionen und einfach perfekt. Zum Schluss bekam das Geburtstagskind mit lauter Musik ein Eis mit Wunderkerze auf das Haus und hat den Abend gut abgeschlossen. Trotzt Anfangsschwierigkeiten werden wir weiter hin gehen.

Groß und laut wie in einer Bahnhofshalle. Andere Griechen schmecken besser in Greifswald. Geschmacklich nicht so gut wie andere. Ich würde diesen Griechen nicht empfehlen

Wir waren mit der Familie (zu viert, zwei Erwachsene, zwei Kinder) an einem Samstag Abend da. Das Restaurant war gut besucht. Es war lecker, auf die beiden Hauptspeisen der Erwachsenen mussten wir etwas warten. Der Service war wirklich sehr liebenswert.

War zum Mittagstisch mit meiner Schwester dort. Bedienung war höflich. Essen war super. Wir kommen wieder!

Große Bude - wie eine Trinkhalle - Qualität bleibt auf der Strecke.

Das Restaurant hat etwa die Größe einer Trinkhalle am Tegernsee . . . Wenn sich der Laden füllt, wartest du entsprechend lange. Satt wird man auf jeden Fal, wenn man keine großen Ansprüche hat. Röststoffe und Gewürze fehlten.
