No reservation, yet a friendly welcome; the food was excellent and the portions were generous, just like being in Greece.

The food is excellent, no question. It tastes fantastic! My partner and I were only bothered by the cramped conditions in the restaurant, the extreme noise level from the large number of people, and the slightly cold temperature when we visited on October 29th shortly after 5:00 PM. Because of this, I have to deduct a few stars for the ambiance. The service also loses a star, as I received the wrong dish, which was, however, replaced free of charge. If none of this bothers you, then you'll be very happy there. As I said, there's absolutely nothing to criticize about the food.

We went to Restaurant Athen for the first time to celebrate our friend's birthday. What can I say? Everything was top-notch: very good, friendly service, large portions. We took almost half of it home with us, and the prices were like they were 20 years ago, considering how expensive everything has become. Thank you for a lovely evening. We'll definitely be back. By the way, they also serve a second ouzo on the house, which isn't common in Greek restaurants. Thank you for a lovely evening; everything was perfect.

We haven't been there in a while. The friendliness has diminished considerably. And so has the taste of the Metaxa sauce. Does a 0.4 liter Coke have to cost the same as a 0.5 liter Alster beer, especially since they only use syrup? There was only one ouzo the entire evening. We've never experienced it before. We paid €100 for two adults and two children. Sorry, we definitely won't be back.

Last visit after over 20 years of loyalty. The plates and the food have gotten significantly smaller, but the prices have gone up considerably. We were no longer satisfied with a party of eight. It's all about maximizing profits.

The usual dishes of Greek restaurants. The bifteki on the Acropolis plate are delicious and tender. The potato pancakes are interesting. The tzatziki is very creamy.

Recommended for anyone who likes Greek food. Large glazed terrace, with radiant heaters in the transitional period. Very friendly staff, especially the boss, always ready to say a kind word. Food tasty, attractively served. Prices in the midfield, good value for money. Overall, highly recommended.

Mass processing, unfriendly and expensive. The drink was brought in the wrong way, to be polite, the eyes were rolled. The food is expensive and nothing special. There wasn't even time to wait for the tip when paying. Bad service, tried several times but you don't feel welcome at all.

Leider zum wiederholten Mal sehr enttäuscht. Ich wahr seit 2022 insgesamt 3 x in diesem Restaurant 2022 war es so hervorragend, dass feststand, da gehts bei nächster Gelegenheit wieder hin. Dann 2023 schon sehr anders, alles schnell und unpersönlich, als müsste man einen Zug bekommen. Mein Kollege und ich hatten das gleiche Essen, seins war ganz okay, bei mir leider die Garstufen überzogen (trocken und fest), wenig gewürzt und auch nicht richtig warm. Aber was soll’s, vielleicht ein schlechter Tag von Koch. Jedenfalls war ich gestern mit einem Kollegen wieder im Athen und werde nun keinen weiteren Versuch unternehmen. Das Essen kam so schnell, das man meinen könnte, es wäre schon fertig 😥, die Kellner vermitteln Hektik und man fühlt sich nicht wirklich willkommen. Der Salat zu Anfang war dann noch das Beste. Beide Hauptgerichte lauwarm, extrem durchgegart, trocken und hart. Gewürzt wurde so gut wie garnicht, Steak und Souflaki unterschieden sich lediglich durch den Spieß, sogar das Tzatziki war geschmacklos. Wir haben dass dann auf Nachfrage auch so geschildert und der Kellner war wirklich sehr nett und hat sich mehrfach entschuldigt. Aber trotzdem sollte dieses ehemals wunderbare Restaurant wieder zu seinen Wurzeln zurückkehren. Ich wünsche dafür viel Erfolg und werde mal die zukünftigen Rezensionen im Auge behalten. Vielleicht kann man ja irgendwann wieder den Empfehlungen folgen.

Great food and, as usual with Greeks, large portions. The meat and fish were well cooked and tasted a feast for the palate.

Very polite and attentive. Despite not having a reservation, we got a very nice table. Food came quickly and was sufficient. Even the portion for a small hunger is enough. (my daughter didn't quite manage it at the age of 11)

Visited the restaurant at short notice, was greeted warmly, got a nice table for 2 people without any problems, the food was very tasteful, I rarely ate such a good Bifsteki and there was plenty of it. Can only be recommended.

I go here 3-4 times a year. The food always tastes good. The problem is the somewhat narrow ratio of the seating proportions. With 4 people no problem, with 6 it gets a bit tight. But it still works. The service was good as always, even though some of our group received their food much later than expected. Ouzo was the farewell drink. When I wanted to pay for my food, it wasn't even recorded, so I could have easily left, but I still had to pay. The waitress who served us remembered my food well. What one could complain about is that there is less on the plate than before. Regarding the parking situation outside the restaurant, you have to say that the parking lot is unfortunately too small.

Das Restaurant Athen ist riesig und dementsprechend laut. Die Speisen waren in Ordnung, aber mehr auch nicht. Der Service geht eher so Richtung Großkantine. Paßt also für ein Restaurant nicht so wirklich.

Food very salty. Loveless salad with cheap dressing? Hello? Why not with olive oil? 2 tablespoons of bland tzatziki and 2 tablespoons of tomato rice didn't make the meal any better. However, the service was very attentive and quick.

In my opinion the restaurant looks... It doesn't look very nice from the outside, but it's even nicer from the inside. The staff is friendly and there is plenty of ouzo on the house. The food is very good and the portions are large enough. The prices are reasonable by today's standards, but it's not a bargain. Sanitary facilities are also very clean.

I've been going to Athens regularly since I was a child (at the old location in the 90s). I love the food, especially the baked gyros dish, the atmosphere and also the hospitality of the family that runs this restaurant. I often eat here with my parents when I'm in the area again. It is really highly recommended!

Einer der besten Griechen, die ich kennenlernen durfte. Köstliche Metaxasauce, freundlicher Service und zwei Ouzo...was soll mir da schlechtes einfallen? Richtig, gar nichts! Weiter so, ich komme gerne wieder.

Wir sind schon seit vielen Jahren, selbst als der Grieche noch in Neuenkirchen war, dort und es ist immer wieder hervorragend.

Standardeinrichtung für einen Griechen. Sehr freundliches und zuvorkommendes Personal. Das Essen war sehr lecker. Sollten wir mal wieder in Greifswald sein kommen wir gerne wieder.

Das Restaurant war für einen Dienstag 18.00 schon sehr gut besucht, sehr freundlicher Empfang, hatten einen Tisch für 6 Personen bestellt, das Essen war super lecker und wurde ziemlich schnell serviert, große Auswahl an Gerichten und auch sonst ein gemütliches Ambiente, gerne wieder!

Top! Wir wurden obwohl jeder Tisch gesetzt war, wurden wir sehr freundlich und schnell bedient. Das Essen war nach nichtmal 30 Minuten am Tisch und hat super geschmeckt. Saftiges Fleisch, würzige Soßen und ein wundervolles Ambiente! Wir können nichts schlechtes sagen. Wichtig ist, an Wochenenden sollte man vielleicht einen Tisch reservieren.

Obwohl es sehr voll war und wir nicht reserviert haben bekamen wir schnell einen Tisch. Nettes Personal, Essen war gut. Preis Leistung war in Ordnung. Wenn wir wieder in Greifswald sind kommen wir wieder.
