Athina Restaurant in Itzehoe

The chef and owner pleasantly surprised me. The food was excellent and worth every penny... we will definitely be back.

The food was delicious and of high quality. It's a lovely restaurant with a great atmosphere, however, I personally found the tables too close together. The wait time for the food was acceptable for a Saturday, although I found 40 minutes relatively long. The waiters were very quick.

The food was delicious and had a natural flavor without any artificial flavor enhancers. The dessert was particularly appealing, although I would have preferred half the amount of sugar (but otherwise, it was my favorite dish). I can also recommend the salad; it was very tasty. Unfortunately, I didn't like the seating. It's very low, making it difficult to relax and leaving you feeling cramped. That's why I've included a photo of the seating. It's not like that everywhere; there are more comfortable seats in other parts of the restaurant.

We arrived later and had to ask the kitchen if it was still open... 45 minutes before closing. Quite early. But it was still open, and the food was excellent. Every bite was delicious.

Too expensive. Too little. Three cellars, but still slow. Metaxa sauce too weak. Gyros too salty. Rice tastes like almost nothing. Last time for me. Everyone has different tastes. For me, the restaurant has clearly deteriorated. It used to be better.

A wide selection of dishes, plentiful, tasty, and reasonably priced. Service over the phone regarding a reservation was very friendly, and we were given a seat in the beer garden. The ambiance was okay, but nothing special. Service during dinner was attentive, but perhaps could learn to smile. Otherwise, the restaurant is definitely recommended.

Addendum: Athina was our favorite Greek restaurant for years. Unfortunately, my partner and I feel that the quality has declined somewhat, especially when it comes to the meat. The gyro in particular was extremely gristly. Our favorite dish has unfortunately been removed from the menu. The salad was delicious, and the staff was also very friendly (despite forgetting the appetizer). However, I find it a bit of a shame that regular customers are treated much more openly and warmly by the manager and have a certain extra status (free dessert, faster service, etc.). 3 years ago: best Greek restaurant I've ever been to!!! Super delicious food and friendly staff. Nice atmosphere. The food was hot and absolutely delicious; it's definitely one of my favorite restaurants from now on.

Hello everyone, I can't quite confirm the very positive reviews of my predecessors. The meat from the Giros was too hard for me and the taste of the tzatzika wasn't seasoned enough. The rice was tasty. My wife had turkey skewers and gave it a rating of two! Tastes are just different!

Das Essen ist in Ordnung. Jedoch nicht mehr. Die Pommes waren in altem Fett gebraten. Am Ende ungesund und schlampig gekocht. Das Gyros ist nichts besonderes, Massenware. Der Service ist ok. Fazit: liebloser Grieche. Trotz eines Grinsens und zwei Ouzo. Es bleibt ein Gefühl, das irgendwas nicht passt. Ich werde dort nicht mehr Essen gehen.

The service was great! We decided to eat there at short notice on a Friday evening and even though it was very busy, they made an effort to find a table for us. The food was good and arrived quickly. I can recommend the restaurant with a clear conscience.

I recently had the pleasure of eating at a fantastic Greek restaurant. As soon as I entered I was greeted with warm hospitality and a cozy atmosphere. The menu offered a wide variety of authentic Greek dishes, all bursting with flavor and made with fresh ingredients. I couldn't resist trying the moussaka and it didn't disappoint! The layers of eggplant, potatoes and seasoned minced meat were cooked to perfection and covered in a creamy béchamel sauce. It was simply delicious. The staff was attentive and knowledgeable and provided great wine pairing recommendations. Overall, it was a wonderful culinary experience that transported me straight to Greece. I highly recommend this restaurant if you're craving Greek cuisine!

An absolute insider tip for everyone who loves authentic Greek cuisine! The food was simply fantastic - from the fresh mezedes to the tender gyros, everything was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was incredibly warm and attentive, you immediately feel like you are in Greece. The ambience is cozy and inviting, decorated with great attention to detail. Especially the homemade desserts and the ouzo at the end rounded off the evening perfectly. We will definitely come back – absolutely recommended!

You should definitely make a reservation, the restaurant is so busy on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays that you probably won't get a seat without a reservation. The parking lot is of sufficient size and smokers can stand under cover in front of the door. The menu is sufficiently large and varied. The service is great, you are well looked after and the entire staff is very helpful. The food is very tasty and is served hot. If you're going for a Greek meal in Itzehoe then come here.

This restaurant has really good cuisine and you should always reserve a table. We were here with 5 people and apart from my Cristos salad for € 14.90, all the other dishes were good. What was advertised as a large salad with turkey was really borderline. A small bowl of iceberg/coleslaw with 5 strips of turkey without dressing. This must be “ordered separately” upon request. I would give 1 star for the salad but otherwise all the dishes were good.

Waited 20 minutes just for the menu and for a Greek, it was a pretty poor selection. The starter looked like it had been thrown out and we then waited another half hour for our food. Absolute failure not worth one star. The staff wasn't exactly attentive either.

The water bottle was outrageously priced, the rice tasted like it came from a can (reminiscent of primary school meals), the meat lacked flavor, the cucumber sauce was devoid of any cucumber, and the bill, unlike the food, is something you won’t soon forget

Quality-price ratio is so bad. Water bottle 7,20€. Those 20cts hurt my feelings as hard as the rice with tomate sauce hurt my cooking sensitivity.
