Absolutely delicious. Maybe the best Indian food we ever had in Germany! Great Southern Indian dishes, and many interesting options beyond the standard fare. Very flavourful sauces. Punjabi Kukkad Masala, chicken on the bone with super rich red sauces, is a must try.

I love it here. Everyone is so nice and the food is delicious.

We have been here many times and brought many friends and family. Generally high quality across dishes both from South and North India. Most Indians I know in Heidelberg agree this is the best Indian restaurant in the area. Highlights include the Gobi Manchurian, Kadai Paneer, Chicken Chettinad and Punjabi Kukkad Masala. We had some negative experiences with service last times during busy hours, but after writing a critical review the owner called us and went out of his way to accommodate us and take action, including updating the restaurant with new devices to improve service and reducing our bill by a generous amount, which was much appreciated!

I can't understand the good reviews. There were no vegetables in the chicken korma, I know it differently. When it came to the vegetarian korma, it felt like it had cheap frozen vegetables in it. Stinks normal rice where you usually get tamarind rice. The samosas were very good, but that was the only good thing. We usually always eat at the Taj Mahal in Heidelberg but wanted to try another Indian place. We usually always eat up but here there was just a lack of everything, especially sophisticated spices, everything just tasted boring and like cheap ingredients. Unfortunately it was a one-off event.

The food was super delicious. Whether it's a starter or a main course, both are to the point. Unfortunately, the staff only spoke English and were only very rarely at the table. The ambience was nice but seemed very, very dark.

Next time we will be careful to go here as it is so delicious. You just can't stop eating.

not a place for vegetarians, they never have any "good" options in veg like veg biryani or even dosa is not available most of the time, last time I had malai kofta the koftas were uncooked, seems like their main focus is only on non vegetarians

Went for lunch. Took the buffet option. Though it was 14:30 and lunch was expected to close by 15:00, the food was still refilled. The food taste is authentic Indian. The chicken was tasty and perfectly cooked. I haven't tasted such a Naan even in India. Such a soft inside and crunchy outside Naan. People complaining about delays should also remember that this kind of delay is expected in India too, when the hotel is known for taste and a lot of people come to the hotel. So it is also authentic Indian style ;)

We were thrilled! We love Indian cuisine and we have been visiting our favorite Indian restaurant in Hamburg regularly for 11 years. Even though we had never been here before, we were treated like queens. Fantastic food, great service. The boss came to our table personally!! A very friendly family! Thank you for this great experience! Update 2 10/22/24 Tonight I was at Adhiti again. I had been looking forward to this restaurant all day. The food was really incredibly delicious!! I've never had Indian food that good except at Manu's. Unfortunately, the service was not as attentive and friendly as on my last visit. But we'll try again on our next visit to Heidelberg.

We ate there yesterday and absolutely loved it! The service was super friendly, and we were immediately impressed by the ambience with the loving decorative details. The fact that the restaurant was well attended speaks for itself. We were there during the week and people who came without a reservation unfortunately had to leave because everything was full. People just know what's good! The food was incredibly tasty, and the spiciness information on the menu was particularly helpful. My husband - a German potato like no other when it comes to spiciness - had no problem ordering a dish without spiciness, and oh surprise, it actually wasn't spicy! That's rare! All in all we had a very happy evening and will definitely be back!

Great food (Authentic Indian). Punjabi Kukkad Masala (with bone) was awesome. Naan and Parantha were as good as in India. Home made paneer ( not tofu) in paneer dishes. Host offered free sweets at the end.

Spicy was less Water should be freee

Ordered food to pick up yesterday. We were told it would take about 50 minutes. Unfortunately, when we wanted to pick us up, we were put off for another 10 minutes. Well, there was a lot going on, it can happen. When I opened the packaging for my dish at home, I was unfortunately very disappointed. Had Tandoori Mailai Potato. 6 small potatoes filled with cheese. For 16€. That's it. Probably won't order here again. It's ok on site with a gourmet block, but it's better not to pick it up if you don't know exactly what you're getting.

On occasion of my wife birthday yesterday night we had been to Athidhi restaurant in Heidelberg, there we had an awesome experience having the food there and the taste of the food was super. I was surprised the hospitality ambience everything was great and they make my day more memorable. I look forward to visit there multiple times.

Well... it's okay, but only frozen vegetables (grated carrots, etc.) were used for the vegetable curry. Pretty cheeky for 15 euros without any side dish. The naan bread was delicious.

After a long time I had really amazing Indian food - Chicken and Panner Lababdaar. Hospitality of the restaurant was really good. Ambience is unique too. Overall if you are missing home - India come to Athidhi Restaurant Heidelberg. And German and other Europeans please here if you want to have a glimpse of what real Indian food tastes like.

The food at Athidhi is so good it could easily compete with, and possibly even beat the best restaurants in India.

I have never eaten such delicious and authentic Indian food in Germany! Absolute recommendation :) I usually don't like eating Indian food in Germany because it feels like every dish has the same creamy red sauce. I rarely feel anything of the wealth of variety that India, as such a huge country, actually offers. In Athidhi it is completely different! The menu is huge and there are a lot of dishes that you rarely get in Germany. E.g. Dosa, a crispy filled “pancake”. Not only that and the 3 sauces served with it were super tasty and flavorful, but also the other things we ordered: onion rings (Onion Bahji), mango lassi, a sweet bread with coconut, cashews and butter (Peshwari Naan), and a more classic paneer curry. And I think the fact that half of the restaurant visitors were of Indian origin says it all ;)

Recently been to this place and did not really liked the food. Previously they did really served tasty food but now the quality is quiet degraded and super expensive for a little portion.

This was my second time visiting with friends. The seats were reserved online, and thanks to the nice weather we were able to sit outside. The staff was very friendly. There is a huge selection of dishes. We were also able to try out the others in the group, we were really impressed. The food seems authentic and not reduced to the local, German taste. We'd love to come back!

Visited this restaurant based on the positive reviews on Google and also expected south Indian styled food. However it must be too much hyped or paid reviews, very hard to say. Although the server was friendly, when confronted about the food quality, was replying each time with irrelevant answers (all starters made with Manchurian style, original Chef on leave and isn't available etc). We had requested Chilli chicken, chicken Tikka, chicken Chettinad and for dessert Gajar halwa. Had also requested them to be andhra styled spicy and not Manchurian styled. Despite the request, the Chilli chicken was prepared in Manchurian style without green chillies. Bland, tasteless and worse than Indian Manchurian. Chicken Chettinad was just like Tomato Chutney without the Chettinad masala and spiciness. Gajar halwa tasted like a reheated frozen desert. The only good thing. The restaurant is clean with plenty of parking space. Definitely I would neither visit this restaurant nor recommend it.

Chicken Dum biriyani is my favorite (one of the best in Germany) Authentic Hyderabad Biriyani. Weekdays you also get unlimited lunch with tasty chicken curry.

One of the best Indian place to eat Chicken sheek kebab. So tender and mouth melting. Service is quite good. Busy restaurant even in weekdays. Reservation is required to get a table. Anytime while reserving ask for table no 5. Cosiest table for couples.🙃🙃🙃🙃

If you are looking for great authentic Indian food in the area of Heidelberg, look no further! I have been coming here at least once a week for the last few months, and every time again I am amazed by the food. Definitely the best Indian food in the area. Authentic and high-quality food, amazing service and fair prices. My personal recommendation: During the week from Monday till Friday, they serve a lunch-buffet (all you can eat) from 11:30-14:30 for 12,90 €. There is no better (and cheaper) way to experience a wide variety of Indian food.

Service was very good. Gobi manchuri was very tasty but quantity was less. Samosa chat was not so great. Paneer Kadai and lababdars were very delicious.

Bad experience, bad service. The waiter messed up our order and kept blaming us for his own mistake. They made us pay for a dish we didn't order and couldn't even eat. Never experienced such arrogance as a customer anywhere. He ruined our special Sunday meal. Not coming again anytime soon.

This is a nice place in town. The chicken was very flavorful and not dry at all. It’s really nice to drink a cup of masala tea on a rainy day.

Good taste. Just please try to bring bigger plates and improve taste as per indian taste for buffet chicken gravies are less spicy.

In my experience one of the best and most authentic Indian restaurant. Will definitely recommend to everyone to try atleast once in this restaurant. Sad that they don't have delivery option yet.

The Athidi in Heidelberg is a small, chic restaurant serving Indian cuisine. The service spoke English, really impressed me and was extremely attentive. An answer was available to all questions and special requests were no problem at all; they were warmly received and implemented. Be sure to try the Mango Lassi 😍 I'm absolutely not a mango fan, but it's awesome. I recommend making a reservation, there are plenty of parking spaces in front of the door and with the Schlemmerblock you save yourself a main course 😏 Great value for money and the meal was super quick. Unfortunately there was no children's menu, but something was recommended to us verbally. Basically a main course in a small portion.

Worst service. Waited for 15 mins just to have my drinks brought out. 30 mins. later still no food. Finally had to ask someone about my food order. Apparently they forgot about it. It wasn't even busy. Maybe 3 or tables with 2-4 people each. So not very busy and they "forgot" about my order. So after another 20 mins the food finally comes out and tastes soapy. The rice and the Naan just had a soapy taste. The kurma and chicken curry were not very good. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Unless you like wait around for a very long time for food that isn't all that good. Definitely had better indian food in freiburg and erufrt and even berlin. Had to ask twice for the bill then they didn't even give me back all of my change. I gave them 70 for a 53 euro bill and only received 10 back. Then they said they gave me a 5%discount. Which was nowhere to be found. Super disappointed overall. It looked so good in the photos, but that was it.

Went here based on reviews. What a disappointment. Order a mix grill for 2 people and a chicken biryani. The man comes back to say that biryani is not possible on Monday. The mix grill was also not possible because they do not have shrimp and lamb. It was not possible to change those two products to, for example, chicken. We should just get something else. He recommended the chicken tika masala and the butter chicken. The butter chicken contained 5 small pieces of chicken fillet and 1 cashew nut. For € 17.90.... per dish This is worthless. He just has to come to Weesp at Khaza Ghar. That's where you can eat well.

Food is amazing, especially South Indian food.

The taste was perfect, palak paneer with quite creamy spinach, a bit unusual but very good. Chicken Jalfrezi top, naan like from a picture book. Service on Saturday lunchtime, just before 3 p.m., attentive, quick. Ambiance was nice inside, outside it looked a bit lost. Next time I'll come when there are dosas.

The ambience is good, the staff is friendly and courteous, they customize your order according to the request. But I found the taste of Paneer Tikka Masala a bit bland, but Veg Manchurian was good and I will definitely recommend it.

Scrumptious food and polite service! Chicken Kukkad masala, Drumsticks of Heaven, Chicken dum biryani and Haleem (during Ramzan season) is really authentic and delicious! 😍 We love to come here almost every other weekend for authentic Indian food! Highly recommend! 👌

Very decent portions. The taste is very tasty, if you like Indian food, you are in good hands here.

Very good Indian cuisine. Unlike many other Indian restaurants, there is also a large selection of South Indian dishes such as Biriyani. Dosa and Chicken 65 are available on selected days. Large beer garden for the warm days.

The decoration is very old. It doesn't go with the Indian restaurant style.

Everybody can find delicious meals especially if you have intolerance as I do! Their lamb and curry are devine! Their spot is cosy and friendly. I highly recommend them, wtih hand on heart!
