Athen in Ingolstadt

Das Restaurant ist nicht mehr das, was es einmal war. Wir waren gestern dort. Erstens war das Fleisch verbrannt und der Reis verkocht. Der ältere Kellner ist widerlich. Schließlich haben sie uns 43 Euro zu viel berechnet. Wir werden dort nie wieder hingehen.

Hab essen geholt, war sehr zufrieden. Geschmack, Preis, Leistung - passt!

Leider keine gute Erfahrung. Wir saßen 30 Minuten am Tisch, ohne dass jemand unsere Bestellung aufnehmen wollte. Nach 20 Minuten haben wir bereits auf uns aufmerksam gemacht, trotzdem kam weiterhin niemand vorbei. Als wir schließlich gegangen sind, gab es zwar eine genervte Entschuldigung, aber sonst keine Reaktion. Gerade nach einer so langen Wartezeit hätten wir uns gewünscht, dass man zumindest versucht, die Situation zu lösen.

Wir haben insgesamt 30 Minuten gewartet, ohne dass jemand unsere Getränke- oder Essensbestellung aufgenommen hat. Nach 20 Minuten haben wir sogar selbst beim Service nachgefragt, trotzdem kam weitere 10 Minuten niemand zu unserem Tisch. Wir haben uns dann nach einer halben Stunde entschieden zu gehen. Der Kellner hat sich zwar entschuldigt, aber es gab keinen Versuch, die Situation noch zu retten oder uns als Gäste zu behalten. Schade – so haben wir uns leider nicht willkommen gefühlt.

Telefonisch bestellt, 15 Minuten später bereits abholbereit. Und das Essen? Absolut lecker! Das Fleisch kross, genug Sauce, genug Pommes und leckerer Salat - und die Nachspeise ein Traum. Mein neuer Lieblingsgrieche

War schon ein paar mal da und komm immer wieder gerne hin. Alle Angestellten sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Das Essen ist super lecker😊

Griechisches Lokal mit reichlich Sitzmöglichkeiten. Freundliche Bedienung. Essen kam relativ schnell. Das Essen war reichlich und gut. War auch unter der Woche gut besucht. Reservierung ist empfehlenswert. Ein Besuch lohnt sich.

Essen war gut, aber sehr lange Wartezeit (50min.), Vorspeise und Salat hätten früher kommen können. Service lässt zu wünschen übrig. Lange leere Gläser. Zugabe vom Chef (Pitta Brot) ohne Kommentar, man weiß nicht ob man es bezahlen muss. Ambiente war gut. Tische mit Nischen. Geräuschkulisse war angenehm obwohl viel los war. Wollen trotz langer Wartezeit nochmals kommen, weil gesagt wurde dies sei nicht die die Regel.

Essen war heute hervorragend wie immer. Der Service sehr aufmerksam und flott. Haben uns hier wie zu Hause gefühlt. Weiter so. Die Montagsfreunde

Ohne Probleme das Essen telefonisch bestellt und abgeholt. Das Essen selbst: Delphi-Teller und Gyros mit Kalamaries noch okay, aber zuviel (weiße) Zwiebeln und Reis, die Kalamaries sehr gummiartig und das Gyros zu fettig. Beim Kritharaki fehlte komplett das Fleisch und die Tomatensoße...Schade, evtl. im Restaurant das Essen besser...

Wir waren recht früh Mittags da. Das Essen kam nach 80 Minuten. Mit Kindern nicht optimal. Das Essen ging geschmacklich. Allerdings war alles sehr grob. Zwiebel Fetzen auf dem Teller. Auch der Salat war schlecht her gerichtet und nicht gut angemacht. Eine Beilage wurde ganz vergessen. Trotz Nachfrage und Bestätigung das es kommt. Jeder Teller war anders angerichtet... stümperhaft! Es kam auch kein Kellner mehr. Trinken konnte man nichts mehr. Ouzo gab's für uns weder davor noch danach.

Komme zum Essen meißt zur Mittagszeit, wo es deutlich ruhiger ist als abends. Einen freien Tisch zu finden ist da kein Problem (im Sommer auf schöner ruhiger Terrasse). Der Service durch den netten Herrn Lavros ist sehr freundlich und flott. Kaum hat man Platz genommen, kommt er mit der Speisekarte und bringt für jeden Gast einen Ouzo auf Kosten des Hauses. Die Zubereitung des Essens ist mittags sehr zügig, die Qualität, gerade auch von Fleisch und Gemüse, ist dabei durchweg gut bis hervorragend. Die Portionen sind üppig und alles ist ansprechend und frisch zubereitet. (ich habe woanders schon teurer und schlechter gegessen...) Das Gyros 🥘 ist das Beste, was ich in den letzten 15 Jahren irgendwo gegessen habe, knusprig gebraten und gut gewürzt mit feinen Zutaten, und eine Portionsgröße, wo man gut satt wird. Auch wenn die Einrichtung etwas in die Jahre gekommen ist, es ist alles sauber und ansprechend, und man fühlt sich aufgrund der guten Qualität und der freundlichen persönlichen Bedienung bei einem Glas Retsina sehr wohl hier! Ich komme immer wieder gerne zum > Kurzurlaub ins 'Athen' <. 🌞 🏛 🇬🇷

Waren hier seit Jahren mal wieder essen, früher war das Restaurant richtig gut. Das heute war das letzte Mal für uns. Wir hatten reserviert und haben am Ende 1,5 Stunden auf das Essen gewartet und das war leider geschmacklich auch nicht gut. Das Personal wirkt überfordert und teilweise arrogant. Einer aus der Gruppe hat sich dann noch übergeben und wir mussten trotzdem voll zahlen. Die ganze Gruppe war sich einig, dass wir hier nicht mehr her kommen. Sehr schade, damals war es echt gut.

Haben heute eine Stunde auf unser Essen gewartet. Mit kleineren Kindern einfach ein Unding. Die Kinder haben auch das Essen erst nach uns bekommen. Nicht wirklich Kinderfreundlich. Weiß nicht was an Pommes mit Schnitzel so schwierig ist es schneller zuzubereiten. Das Essen war etwas fad. War nicht gewürzt und wenig gesalzen. Der Salat war aber lecker. Wir wurden anscheinend auch über den Tisch gezogen. Leider ist es uns erst auf dem Heimweg aufgefallen. Es gab auch keine Rechnung. Einfach ärgerlich und obwohl wir in der Nähe wohnen kommen wir bestimmt nicht mehr!

Über eine Stunde aufs Essen gewartet, obwohl nichts aufwändiges bestellt worden ist. Auf nette Nachfrage meinerseits (andere Gäste, welche später bestellten, hatten bereits ihr Essen) folgten negative und genervte Kommentare seitens des Mitarbeiters. Die jüngeren Mitarbeiter sind definitiv bemüht, danke dafür! Das Essen kam dann nach etwa 80 Minuten und war lecker (der Appetit jedoch inzwischen verflogen...).

Well-kept and pleasant space, polite staff, prompt service, authentic Greek cuisine, quality food and ample parking. I highly recommend it.

Top food in a pleasant atmosphere

You shouldn't eat calamari there...we only saw the grill from a distance. Not recommended...

An hour-long wait for food, irritated waiters, lukewarm food, canned seafood, poor presentation, and dirty carpeting... We've been here a few times because it's so close to home, but this time we've decided once and for all: never again!

We were there today. We had reserved a table for 7 p.m. We didn't receive the menu until a lengthy 35-minute wait. We then ordered appetizers and a main course and spent a total of about two hours there. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations: the pita was a bit soft, the tzatziki lacked garlic, the gyro was more like frozen food, the calamari was tough, and the fries had no salt. When asked if we enjoyed the food, it was barely noticeable from the plate, as there were many leftovers. We wouldn't give this restaurant another chance in the future, unless the quality and service improve. Never again!!!

For me, this is authentic Greek cuisine. I also like the ambiance, not a newfangled ambiance. It's good that there's still a Greek restaurant like this. The food is very good, especially the beef liver. We love it and we love going there. The service is very good, the people are very hospitable. The food, the service, and the prices are more than reasonable compared to other Greek restaurants in the area. And

There were two hairs in the food: once in the appetizer and then again in the main course. The taste wasn't great either. I can't recommend it.

I always recommend it to friends and acquaintances. I've been a regular guest for 34 years.

We ate there, NEVER again. We waited a very long time for our starters (2 hours) and then another one was forgotten. The saganaki was very poorly presented and the side salads were simply yucky, it had nothing to do with farmer's salad. The platter for 2 people was overpriced. The food was brought out incorrectly, empty glasses sat on the table for a long time and only after calling the waiter several times did they bring our drinks. The waiters seemed very annoyed. We had to remind the waiter four times to pay. It was normal business, so not VERY busy. The food itself was good and that gets 3 stars.

The food tasted okay but was very poorly presented. The wait staff are clearly overwhelmed when the place is busy; the main course arrived 40 minutes after the starter, and ordering drinks was very inconvenient because no one was passing by the table. The outdoor area is in a good location and offers plenty of space.

Delicious food with excellent value for money! There was a bit of a wait for the food. Service was very attentive and friendly! Lovely outdoor area, which we also took advantage of that evening. Unfortunately, there were a lot of smokers, which wasn't so pleasant! Definitely recommended!

We were pleasantly surprised by the offerings, the friendly service and the atmosphere in the restaurant. We found the restaurant by chance and will remember the address for a future visit.

The food is good and tasty. The portions are nicely prepared. The staff is friendly and nice. But it should be reserved.

Update: March 21, 2025 There is no longer any ouzo. Changing the side dish from farmer's salad to coleslaw will be charged an additional 1 euro. Overall, prices were raised. But without ouzo, the hearty meal is no longer fun. Athens is our favorite Greek place because you can eat really delicious food here. I love the eggplant cream, which is delicious, dolmades (stuffed grape leaves with a delicious lemon sauce), pita tzatziki, fried zucchini and eggplant. Pantheon plate and of course Ouzo, you can only say "Jamas".! The service is friendly and the atmosphere is good. In the summer it's outside under the shady trees and in the winter it's nice inside too. All I can do is keep saying “Efaristo”..!

This is the first time I haven't gotten ouzo at a Greek restaurant, but the table next to me does. I'm disappointed. Otherwise, it's delicious.

We were in the restaurant last night, we had to wait 25 minutes for our drinks, the starter came with the main course, the service was more than bad and the guests were treated differently. We're not coming anymore.

The food we waited forever for was a disaster... Calamari not cooked through - gyros completely fried... When we complained, the waiter reacted rudely and arrogantly... Took the plates with him without comment and without offering us an alternative... The whole store seems dingy and unkempt at times... We used to really enjoy going there - it was definitely the last time... Impossible Not even worth a star... It's a shame for every cent we left there. Absolutely NOT recommended!!

100% recommendation. We have been regular guests for several years and always enjoy coming there. The quality is always consistently very good and the prices are fair. The waiters are always nice and quick 🙂

Totally dissatisfied one star is too many. Despite reservations for 9 people plus the request for a children's chair, we were squeezed into a table for 6 people. After we asked which children's chair we wanted, we were only told that there were no more available and we should ask at the tables if we could get one. There were larger tables available, e.g. a table for 10 people which was then only occupied by 5 people, a table for 4 which was occupied by 2 people. As is typical for Greeks, there wasn't even an Uzo to greet us. Main courses came at the same time as the starters, one main course came with a delay when the other main courses were already half eaten. Three dishes were requested to have fries as a side dish. This request was not fulfilled until after mentioning it twice, additional fries were brought. Service left a lot to be desired, the waiter's elbow almost landed in the face, people reached across the table, quite rude and stressful. In addition, there is no changing facility for babies and no disabled toilet. We won't visit this Greek again.

The restaurant was about half full for our dinner. -Drinks order will only be taken after a 30 minute wait, along with food -We had drinks after 45 minutes -Food came after about 1 3/4 hours We remained friendly and only expressed slight criticism that the service wasn't right today. He then became loud, especially to guests, and we were told that this restaurant was not dependent on us as customers and that we should please stop coming. He also heard from us for the first time that the waiting time was too long. I have never experienced such an unreflective and rude Kellerner. Zero criticism. Food delicious Portions good Prices okay.

The food is very tasty and came to the table steaming hot. The meat was juicy and the gyros were very well seasoned. The portions are comparatively large, but I didn't feel full because there was only a small pile of rice on the side. I would have liked more rice or more potatoes. The wait was very long and everything came to the table at the same time. Maybe you can bring the salad beforehand. The service was attentive and very nice.

Unfortunately my food was only lukewarm. In the farmer's salad I missed the feta, olive and pepperoni. We were the only table that didn't get a delicious ouzo...The worst thing, however, was the service. The older gentleman was very annoyed, rolled his eyes in front of us and probably swore in Greek. His smoking in front of the open front door wasn't very pleasant either. It's a shame that as a guest you no longer receive courteous service.

Not a particularly dedicated service, table not prepared despite reservation, we first had to wait 20 minutes for the menu and then another 30 minutes for the food. Food was only lukewarm and unfortunately only average in taste. The side salads were good.

There were 3 people eating there today. The food was really good, but we felt a little forgotten. We waited some time for the bill, and just like other guests got their Uso when they paid, we didn't get one. I wonder if our bill 70 euros was too low!!!!!!!!!

Friendly welcome, always something going on! Prices are okay for current conditions. Food is also ok and is a good portion. Gyros could be a little crispier for my taste. It's a shame that all fish dishes are made with tartar sauce. When I read the menu it reminded me of a fast food restaurant. That's why I didn't order it.

Went to the Greek restaurant in Zuchering for the first time today as we have been living here for a short time. From the beginning the staff (especially the older gentleman) was very unfriendly and annoyed. The food came quickly but was really not good. Had Kritheraki gratinated, which felt like it was just cheese and almost no pasta. Moussaka tasted like it had been around for ages. But no one wanted to know what it tasted like when it was cleared away. We weren't asked if we wanted any more drinks. We wanted a scoop of ice cream on a separate plate for dessert and were therefore grumbled at in a very unfriendly manner. My daughter had crayons with her, one of which fell under the table, whatever else was under the table was horrible. Old cutlery, endless dirt. There are masses of dead beetles in the shop window. If we had seen that at the beginning we would have left. There was no ouzo and we weren't asked if we wanted one. Will never go here again even though we could walk here. I'd rather go back to Oberhaunstadt next time because it's 100 percent better.

The food is good and cheap too. It was funny that the waiter also forgot to charge for the starter, but we told him his mistake and paid for it.

The restaurant was quite full, so we expected a long wait before we got our food. Amazingly, it only took a few minutes from ordering to being served. Unfortunately, the quality, appearance and taste of the dishes left a lot to be desired, which was to be expected given the number of guests and the quick "preparation". The rice was overcooked, the gyros were dry and tough, the calamari had more batter than meat and was from the deep fryer instead of the grill as on the menu. The shepherd's salad consisted of 90% iceberg leaves, no olives, no goat cheese and a vinegary "dressing". Our conclusion, not recommended if you value good food and quality of the products.

Food was very tasty. Only guests who arrived half an hour later received their food before us. Waiting for the food 90 minutes is quite steep.

Stifado and garlic potatoes were better. 2 months ago you also got an ouzo after your meal

It was another wonderful Sunday dinner at Socrates with my family. Short waiting times and more than 5 star visit...

Top food, incredibly tasty. You feel like you're on vacation. Service very friendly and quick. Restaurant without a lot of frills, the focus is on very good food. I would love to come back there.

Please be sure to arrange basic cleaning. The unfriendly old waiter should also retire. In any case, being served in an annoyed and disgruntled manner is not an option. The boss also shouts too much in the kitchen.

Bislang waren wir gerne Gäste im Athen. Wir sind Anfang September 24, ca 18:00 Uhr im Aussenbereich des Restaurants an einem, ja, richtig schmuddeligen Tisch gesessen, sodass wir vor der Bestellung noch überlegten, nicht doch wo anders Essen zu gehen. Wir gingen zu diesem Tisch, weil andere besetzt waren und die noch Übrigen noch schlechter aussahen. Wir haben unseren Eindruck einfach beiseite geschoben und das Essen bestellt. Unsere Vorspeisen und meine Platte waren lecker, das Pita-Brot und das zugereichte Baguette leider überhaupt nicht! Man kann bestimmt entschuldigen, dass das Restaurant an diesem Tag ziemlich ausgebucht war, aber es lässt sich nicht entschuldigen, dass bei den paar freien Tischen, die noch nicht belegt waren, alle Tischdecken (billigster Schaumkunststoff) voller Fettflecken waren. Die haben nicht gerade danach ausgesehen, dass sie mal die letzten Tage gewechselt worden waren. Dieser Eindruck wurde dadurch bestätigt, dass auch unsere Bestecke nicht ordentlich sauber waren. Aber, es waren noch zwei andere Sätze am Tisch, die besser aussahen und wir haben diese benutzt. Nochmals zurück zur Sauberkeit am Tisch. Die Tischdecken waren klebrig, Pfeffer und Salzbehälter fettig, sodass wir sie NICHT benutzen wollten. Wir haben den Besitzer beim Bezahlen, der selbst mit bediente, darauf angesprochen, mit der lapidaren Rückmeldung "Aja, nicht sauber"! Das ist die falsche Reaktion! Keine Entschuldigung, und auch keinen Ouso!! Wir werden es verschmerzen. Wir kennen das Restaurant auch aus besseren Zeiten. Wir werden es bestimmt mal in ein paar Monaten wieder versuchen, vielleicht wird es ja mal wieder besser. Nur, die nächste Zeit wird da garantiert nix draus. Wir gehen mal wieder zu den anderen Mitbewerbern! Unser Fazit: Essen gut und reichlich, nur PITA und Baguette nicht zu empfehlen. Tische, Besteck, Salz- und Pfefferbehälter, einfach nur Bääh! So kann man natürlich sein Restaurant runter wirtschaften. Deshalb MOMENTAN KEINE EMPFEHLUNG!!

Food was quite good. Service ok. Totally recommended for just something to eat.

The food is still great if you call to make a reservation or order. When there is a lot going on, people simply don't answer the phone at all (I asked personally on site). Maybe you can play a tape announcement on the phone when there's a lot going on, then everyone will know straight away.

No one has answered the phone for weeks, even though the restaurant is open. On Saturday we just drove there and wanted to order food... we asked the waiter if the number was no longer correct, then the answer was: yes, but we're just not going there... unbelievable. We could order now but would have to come back later to pick it up, but that would take a very long time. We then ordered somewhere else.

We were passing through, quite late, looking for a place to eat. After we were first told that the kitchen was already closed, the "boss" apparently came over and we explained to him that unfortunately we couldn't make it earlier due to numerous traffic jams. He then explained to us that if we didn't expect anything "great" anymore, it could certainly be done. The gyros and souflaki we ordered were very good and tasty. The obligatory ouzo was included, on the house. We thank you for your warm hospitality!

-Food okay, not exceptional but solid for the price - Service was very slow and it was unclear who was being served and in what order. Guests who actually arrived before us had already had their food before our drinks order was even taken. When I asked the young waiter there was an impudent/cheeky answer. Some items ordered were not brought but were listed on the invoice. Overall, there are probably not enough staff for the size of the location - Ambience is getting old Conclusion: after the service experience we won't be coming back. There is a lack of service staff everywhere, which does not justify personal contact. I don't pay anyone to get hit on stupid

We ordered a table. We waited over an hour for the food and then brought the wrong food. The waiter didn't apologize and then he suddenly left and wasn't seen again. I find it sad that nothing came. We definitely won't be there again Go there. I won't recommend it.

Das Essen war okay, aber der Service war unterirdisch. Ich möchte hier gar nicht von einem Service sprechen. Der übel gelaunte Kellner hat uns die ganze Zeit angemeckert weil ihm nichts gepasst hatte, was wir gesagt oder getan hätten. Niemals wieder

Today, after waiting 1 1/2 hours for food with two small children, we left. The waiter apologized and gave us the drinks for free...still we won't come back. That's really underground. It's a shame

Long waiting times No friendly waiters Throughout the restaurant, guests waited a long time for their food. Taste ok. After waiting more than 2.5 hours for the starter, the table next to us understandably left. Due to the two hour wait, we will not visit this restaurant again.

The food was very good. But the kicker was the salt and pepper shakers, rusty and dirty. Hopefully it doesn't look like that in the kitchen.
