Restaurant Aphrodite in Ingolstadt

It's been a long time since I've visited such a great Greek restaurant! Friendly and attentive service, everything clean, bright interior, and above all, incredibly delicious food! The owners were sitting a few tables away and had their ears and eyes on everything, because we ordered a second starter and were informed that the main course could arrive at the same time. I think the manager noticed and sorted it out, because the next starter arrived (so delicious and tender vine leaves with a rice/mince mixture and a lemon sauce), and we were told we still had plenty of time before the main course arrived. My companion had succulent souvlaki and crispy gyros, and I had a leg of lamb that was so juicy and fell off the bone! Here, too, the manager stepped in and brought me a plate for the bone so I had enough room on my plate! What more could you want? The service was also approachable, and there was time for a few words! Thanks to Hotel Block for the great recommendation! I'd love to come back next time I'm in Ingolstadt! P.S. The only thing that surprised me was the cauliflower on the table at the family-run restaurant 😂

Very good food, friendly service. We'd be happy to come back :-). We were always able to find a seat without a reservation. The Greek restaurant was quite busy over the weekend, so reservations are definitely recommended.

I'm always absolutely thrilled! The food at Aphrodite in Ingolstadt is outstanding – freshly prepared, authentic, and simply delicious. The portions are generous and beautifully presented. The service is also outstanding: super friendly, attentive, and you feel welcome from the very beginning. If you're craving Greek cuisine, Aphrodite is the place to go! I can wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant!

It's a shame some of the orders were wrong. While others eat, you can watch and hope that the food arrives soon. Paying becomes a challenge for both guests and servers. Furthermore, out of 15 people, only a maximum of 4 people enjoyed their meal.

Um, what happened to the place? The table was too small for the number of people we were sitting at. Then we were moved to a new table. We were asked to order drinks in the aisle while we waited for the new table. "By the time you get to the table, the drinks will already be there...," he said. Well, that didn't work either. We were asked again at the table if we wanted to order drinks. Then, at some point, the food arrived. The next surprise: lukewarm gyros with dry souvlaki wasn't exactly the food I remembered from my last visit. The chef was apparently looking in vain for spices. Some of the food was brought out incorrectly. And one meal was simply forgotten, so the guy had to wait a long time and watch us enjoy the lukewarm food. Sphagetti topped with thick cheese with no visible tomato sauce in a casserole dish was the next highlight. (If only it had said so on the menu...) So, enough about the food, now for the service. Friendly is something else entirely! The chef's good humor and jokes were nowhere to be found. Where has that spirit gone? Waiters in shorts were also a new look... I have to honestly say you've lost me as a customer. That's a real shame, because I was extremely satisfied for many years!

Great Greek restaurant! We went to Aphrodite Greek Restaurant with a large group of over 20 people and were completely satisfied. The restaurant is located in the heart of the old town, is quaint and decorated in a traditional style – with lovingly designed little niches separated by small walls. This creates a cozy and sociable atmosphere where you immediately feel at home. The menus and drinks were already on the tables, which made it easy to get started. The selection of Greek specialties and drinks was very extensive – there was something for every taste. The servers were on the ball – very friendly, attentive, and courteous. The drinks arrived promptly, and everything went smoothly with the food as well. Despite the many different orders within the group, individual requests were accommodated. What was particularly nice was that the children were served first, and the adults could eat at the same time – the kitchen coordinated the timing perfectly. The culinary experience was top-notch: From the taramas to the octopus salad to the liver – everything tasted excellent. The liver was perfectly grilled and wonderfully tender – a real highlight! When the weather's nice, you can also sit outside in the garden, which is also very inviting and cozy – ideal for spending time outdoors. The restaurant was very busy on the evening of our visit – you should definitely make a reservation in advance! An all-round successful evening with great service, delicious food, and a pleasant atmosphere. We'd love to come back!

Our new favorite Greek restaurant in the region! All the dishes were delicious and the meat was cooked to perfection. The calamari was just as it should be. The desserts (e.g., Galaktoburika) are also highly recommended! The restaurant is located in the center, very close to the Münster underground parking garage. The outdoor area in the back courtyard is very cozy, and a few seats even offer a view of the Münster. The friendly and professional staff deserve a special mention. That's what gastronomy is all about! We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will be returning here more often. Update 2025: For us, this is still the best Greek restaurant in the region! Super delicious, great staff...

We are visiting from Canada and went to Aphrodite with family and friends. We had a fabulous night; the food was excellent and the service fast and very friendly. The waiters kept checking on us frequently, everything was perfect. The restaurant normally closes at 11:00 pm, but we were there until well after midnight. Poor Jiorgos had to stay late, but not once did he make us feel unwelcome, he came over and joked around with us a few times and was really good about it. Apologies and thank you, Jiorgos, we'll definitely come back. We'll try to leave earlier next time!

The Aphrodite restaurant is really great! The atmosphere is super cozy and the food is simply delicious. What I particularly loved is that the staff will even offer you ouzo even if you're just picking something up! This shows how friendly and accommodating they are. I can only recommend it!

The service was very friendly and quick. When you entered, you were greeted by a lady in a jogging suit. In my opinion, it belongs on the couch and not in the restaurant. The other service staff were neatly dressed. Food was okay and everything was right in terms of price.

Worst service ever!! Absolutely no recommendation! Yesterday I wanted grilled calamari for dinner at the restaurant. After an hour (!) of waiting, during which no one from the service staff asked me if I would like something more to drink, for example, and no one else came over, I asked the waiter what was wrong with my food. He said it would take another 5 minutes. However, after it turned out that it was significantly longer - he had completely forgotten my order - he came as an apology with a stale side salad and asked if I wanted it. I didn't want to. I would have liked to eat calamari. He apologized for forgetting the food. After I saw no chance of having dinner (it was already 9 p.m. and I had been waiting in the restaurant for 1.5 hours with only one glass of water...) I paid for my drink and left. Anything that seemed like a little more effort than the stale side salad would have been acceptable, but this action was exemplary of the rest and truly unmatched worst service I've ever had in a restaurant. I can't say anything about the food, I didn't get any... Never again. NO RECOMMENDATION

Warm starter plate, grilled scampi, kataifi with nuts... I have always enjoyed the same good quality and perfect service for 19 years.

Okay for a Greek. Food is plentiful, there is ouzo. It's loud and always crowded. If you order non-alcoholic, you are exposed to ridicule...

The restaurant is open dining but both individual, so my date and I felt private and very well taken care off, the waiter made note of my intolerances and gave me great recommendations of items on the manue I can have without leaving anything out or alterations ( I much prefer that! ) the food was delicious, my lamb was perfectly cooked, juicy and great flavour, my glass was refilled without my request and the staff was very friendly from the moment we entered the restaurant. While I do expect a level of service I must say they exedet my expectation and I am looking forward to be back soon :-)

The food in the Aphrodite restaurant is okay, but not a culinary highlight. The service impresses with its friendliness and speed. The decor is a bit kitschy, but that seems typical of many Greek restaurants. Unfortunately, the smell of food gets stuck in your clothes, which is annoying. The price of the restaurant is okay, but I wouldn't pay more for what it offers.

Wonderful! Great staff, service was very fast and professional. The lovely Rula was so adorable, warm and pleasant we could hug her endlessly. Thank you guys for the great experience. We will definitely visit again on our return to Ingolstadt.

I recently moved to Ingolstadt and had dinner here with my family for my birthday. We received a very warm welcome, had nice small talk with the very accommodating staff and at the end we were even given wine as a birthday present. Apart from the great atmosphere, the food was also incredibly tasty. Quote from my sister "If I didn't live so far away, this would be my new regular restaurant." ☺️

Portion is tiny compared to the price, taste is okay but nothing special either.

Das Restaurant ist gross und vom Ambiente ok. Leider waren auf der Tischdecke noch Essensreste von den Kunden vorher. Die warmen Vorspeisen waren ungekürzt, haben irgendwie geschmeckt. Die Hauptspeisen waren ungekürzt und lieblos angerichtet. Das überbackene Gyros mit Reisnudeln staubtrocken und ungekürzt.

On the way from Italy to the Netherlands we looked for a stopover, which was Ingolstadt, provided we could find a well-regarded Greek restaurant. We read the rave reviews and decided to book a hotel and make a reservation at this Greek restaurant Aphrodite. Everything worked out and we had a delicious meal. A warm welcome that seemed involved and interested and delicious food that you could taste was prepared with love. There were four of us and everyone had something different as a starter and main course and we all loved it. And indeed, as stated in several reviews, the tzatziki is very tasty. All in all, definitely recommended, I wish he was in our village.

Absolutely recommended. Great service, great food, portions absolutely sufficient. Price/performance perfect. If you want to spend a cozy and culinary evening, this is the right place for you.

Netter Abend mit griechischem Essen. Auf der Durchreise nach Österreich wurden wir freundlich vom Wirt begrüßt . Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionsgrössen waren auch gut. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis passt. Der Wirt kam immer wieder an den Tisch um kurze Gespräche zu führen. Wir hatten einen tollen Abend.

I thoroughly enjoyed my dinner at this restaurant. At the rear of thee restaurant was a lovely garden setting which was extremely popular. A good beer served with a shot of ouzo while I scanned the menu. With lots of options this restaurant would be great to go to with a group and share plates to maximise choices. I opted for a couple entrees plus some fried sliced potatoes. The octopus salad was delicious, so was the saganaki ewe’s cheese. I requested a dry red house wine to go with my meal and it complemented the food perfectly. Apart from the food, wine and the ambiance of the garden, the standout at this restaurant was undoubtedly the service. The waiters (all men) were so efficient. I you requested a drink or a condiment, it arrived within the shortest possible space of time with a friendly smile or comment to go with it.

Was there for dinner last week. Ordered an Odysseus plate. The waitresses were very nice and friendly. The restaurant is also very nice to sit in. The food was very, very tasty, but unfortunately for just under €20 it was far too little. A small ball of rice, far too few gyros and the three bite-sized pieces of pork fillet was a joke, it's a shame I'm not used to that from Greek food.

Wir waren nach langer Zeit mal wieder im Aphrodite und hatten es weitaus besser in Erinnerung. Die Begrüßung war wie immer sehr freundlich, ebenso der Service. Die Getränke kamen sehr schnell an den Tisch.Leider waren wir vom Essen etwas enttäuscht. Wir hatten Gyrossalat und Garnelen mit Salat. Das Gyros war nur lauwarm und richtig trocken, auf keinen Fall frisch vom Spieß geschnitten. Das Gyros lag auf einem Salat, der vom Öl bereits glasig war, genauso wie die Zwiebeln. Die Garnelen waren z.T. nicht entdarmt, die dazugereichte Mayo im Schälchen bereits deutlich angetrocknet. Zu den Garnelen gab es nicht mal ein Zitronentuch, mit dem man sich nachher die Hände hätte säubern können. Wenn ich mir dann die Preise ansehe, die ja überall angehoben wurden, passt das Ganze leider gar nicht zur Qualität. Leider keine Empfehlung von unserer Seite.

The Elena plate is a fine Greek dish, my recommendation alongside grilled sheep's cheese. Yesterday we had a fine meal again: the various Pilseners rounded off the gyros in Metaxa sauce with pita, potatoes, sheep's cheese and salad!

For us the best Greek in Ingolstadt, very tasty food and top service, you feel like you're on vacation. The beer garden is a dream with a view of the cathedral and the staff are very nice and accommodating. So fingers crossed, we’ll be happy to come back!

I know almost all the Greek restaurants in Ingolstadt and you can enjoy the ambience, the food, Waiting times and the friendliness of the staff certainly vary greatly. The fact is: that certainly in Aphrodite, and has been for many years, the highest Standard is maintained in terms of food quality and service. Werktags auch noch kurzfristig einen Platz reservieren können. Der Service wie immer stets sehr freundlich und schnell. Die Vorspeise kam nach kurzer Wartezeit und auch das Hauptgericht wurde im richtigen Abstand serviert. Wir waren sehr zufrieden.

Essen ist gut aber nicht außergewöhnlich. Vorspeisenplatte war nur Gemüse und sehr fettig .

Atmosphäre und Service waren gut, das Essen von mir leider nicht. Ich hatte Musaka Auflauf, das ist mit Auberginen. Die Auberginen wurden allerdings vorbeigetragen, das Hackfleisch auch. Somit bestand es aus vielen Kartoffeln und Bechamel Sauce. Vom Preis viel zu teuer für 14.9 € für diese Qualititä. Meine Kameraden waren indes zufrieden mit ihrem Essen.

Wir waren an einem Sonntag spontan zum Mittagessen da und hatten das Glück auch ohne Reservierung noch einen Tisch bekommen. Das Essen war sehr lecker und die Portionen recht groß. Vor allem aber war der Service sehr schnell, obwohl der Laden voll war. Klare Empfehlung
