Atame Tapas Bar in Berlin

We had a nice family evening and wanted to eat a few small, delicious tapas around 9 p.m. if only we had avoided this restaurant. The food was absolutely subterranean and had absolutely nothing to do with Spain but more with microwave and frozen food. The first service employee had huge problems even understanding what we wanted to order from the menu there, forgot things or brought them incorrectly. The highlight was that the microwave food was put in front of us and then the table was set with cutlery etc. Last but not least, a 10% tip was secretly typed into the debit card for this amazing service (joke), which we took out again and when people were surprised, I also told the gentleman that we were completely dissatisfied, but he was no longer interested in that, He just said they would have to pay extra out of their pocket if we didn't tip. 🤣🤣 If you have the opportunity and are not starving, give this truly underground (restaurant) a wide berth.

Great food and staff. Really good wines

The so-called tapas plate consisted almost entirely of potatoes, the lamb skewers were very tough. Overall disappointing and too expensive.

We come to Atame because it is a supposedly Spanish place (Spanish flags no longer fit). When we arrive the place is empty, we ask for 2 red Martinis and Manchego cheese. The waiter was very friendly but he doesn't speak Spanish, which already makes me a little doubtful. He brings us 2 white vermouths, we tell him that it was rosso (they are on the menu) and he leaves, he comes with someone on the phone who speaks Spanish, we tell him that they were rosso martinis and he tells us that they don't have them. We tell the guy on the phone to give us a couple of summer red wines. We had the cheese, it was not bad, and 2 glasses of “tinto d'ummer” (wine with soda). The price of the cheese menu is €8.50, the price of the bill is €10.50. We tell him and he corrects it in our account. Bad place? No; Spanish? neither; would I go back? No.

Our visit was a complete disaster. Drinks were forgotten and the wrong food was brought. When I politely pointed out that I had ordered something else and my drink was missing, the waiter reacted annoyed and hissed off without saying a word. The food was a joke. It was ready in no time and tasted like frozen food. If you're too lazy to buy canned mushrooms and frozen croquettes, you're in good hands here. When paying, the waiter preset a 10% tip. Luckily we saw this and canceled it, because asking for a tip for this is probably a bad joke. The waiter then got angry and said that we should pay for it, otherwise he would have to pay for it out of his own pocket. Trying to explain to him objectively that we were dissatisfied with the service, he turned around and left. Apparently he didn't care about this explanation. This cannot be surpassed in terms of cheekiness and arrogance.

If you have enough time, are not hungry and are very patient, you are in good hands here. The staff is very chaotic, has no overview, we were in a queue and were served last. After an hour we still didn't have our food. The plate is just enough for two and is a disgrace considering the price.

We were given a chocolate cake and the rest of the food was also very good 👍🏼

The place is well located, the area is cool and the place is well suited, the attention and service is good. If we talk about prices, it's crazy since we're talking about tapas (small ones), the cheapest one is 8 euros (patatas bravas, which didn't have anything brava, nor did they have aioli) and from there on up...the serving of bread is 2 ,50×3 slices of bread. So per bajito it's 25 euros or more depending on the tapa or drink you order...so particularly, I won't go back...

The menu for €12 is a disgrace, raw food and very long preparation times. It is not Spanish and I do not recommend it. The waiter was nice.

Went mid-day so maybe caught staff off-hours, but the food was mediocre (ready in just 2 minutes which means it was microwaved), the service was pretty terrible with me having to call the waiter over to pay, and after they saw cash in my wallet, told me they don’t accept card even though I could see their payment terminal.

Well, unfortunately not so great for a Spaniard. Little choice, little ambience...no feeling of Spain. Canned champions and little seasoning. It wasn't typically Spanish in any way. Sorry

Food: 3.5 stars. I tried the meat/cheese mix platter (best part of the meal), pimientos, albondigas (a bit dry), lamb skewers (dry and chewy) and mushrooms (quite bland). Actually their complimentary bread and olives were more impressive than some of the dishes. The food isn’t bad, just nothing special and a bit overpriced. Service was good. Atmosphere was nice, except for the super loud speakers playing music, very hard to converse, especially if you’re sitting inside. Overall a decent experience but nothing special.

We were here for dinner. Unfortunately, neither the service nor the food was particularly good. We shared a tapas platter that was far too greasy and otherwise didn't taste good. For the very high price (€55 for 2 people) I would have expected much more. In my opinion, value for money is not right here. As others have already written, the service was ok. But in order to order, we had to proactively ask. When we didn't tip because of the negative experience, we didn't even get a look or a farewell. We certainly won't be coming back!

Cool shop, honest and not fancy

Well, it used to be better, but now it's more of a tourist trap at inflated prices. Toilets a bit dirty.

They do not pay salaries to employees.

It was a lovely evening with delicious tapas & drinks. The busier the place became, the less likely you were to see anyone waiting at the table. But everything is perfectly within limits.

We really enjoyed the tapas. We had meatballs in a delicious tomato sauce, pork fillet with mango, a chicken breast fillet skewer with spicy chorizo and prunes wrapped in bacon. The bread with the aioli cream also tasted good.

It was a very great evening and an incredibly nice waiter.The price-performance ratio is excellent, always happy.

Cosy place with amazing daily menu

Spanish food? A bad joke for a sorry hole by a mind with no notion of cooking. Warm beer, standard goat cheese brought straight from the shelf of any average supermarket is the safest you can get among the geasy food served in this place. A far cry from spanish food or any food at all.

The tapas were okay, although not outstanding. The atmosphere is more like a tourist bar than a tapas bar, but it's not that wild. What's more annoying is that we've been waiting for an invoice for weeks, but despite repeated reminders, this apparently presents the company with an impossible task.

We ate here before heading to the jazz club. The food was fresh and the menu pretty extensive. The service was friendly and prompt. Initially paying by card seemed to be an issue, but they managed to make that work. I would definitely recommend and would return next time I was in Berlin.

We stopped here for drinks on a whim. The drinks were pretty rubbish and the service was quite blunt. When we tried to pay with a card (despite them having a functioning card machine) they asked for cash and didn't give the change until we asked for it.

Seedy place, unacceptable food and the workers seemed exploited. Not recommended at all.

Food 2.5/5 - The tapas were good, but for the high price I expected something more than just "good". We had the meat tapas platter for 2 and of the things that were really good (bacon-wrapped dates or meat croquettes) there were exactly 2 pieces. I was still disappointed that with all the greasy and heavy things and the hefty price of €60, not even a bit of bread was served. Service 1.5/5 - Unfortunately, the staff was incredibly slow, inattentive and unmotivated. The staff wasn't unfriendly, but I don't want to wait 10 minutes for a card once I've been seated and another 20 minutes until you can order. Any eye contact is avoided, so a quick request for payment is not possible. Unsatisfactory! Ambiance 2.5/5 - It was nice inside. Outside, the rickety beer benches and the slightly sticky table really bothered me. Directly on the street, with passers-by walking past on the narrow sidewalk and the very loud S-Bahn, there is no relaxed feeling in the outdoor area. In other smaller villages I would say: good restaurant. For Berlin it is simply too little and too expensive for the poor service and low quality.

The boss paid me less than the minimum wage and is exploiting several employees. The products he has are of poor quality and many recipes are not Spanish. He doesn't fix anything and the beer comes out hot and sometimes it doesn't come out at all. And what is there to say about the Cocteleria....? Shameful. The only good thing is the colleagues who work there and put up with the owner's poor management. This person has a minimum salary and explores a variety of jobs. The products are of poor quality and are not sold in Spanish. No arregla nada y la cerveza sale caliente y a veces ni sale. Y que decide de cocteleria.... Vergonzoso. Lo único bueno, los compañeros que están ahí aguantando the mala gestión del dueño.

The young waiter who served us was very nice, but that's it, if you're looking for a good tapas place, this one with Spanish food has little, mediocre quality and hot beer, I don't recommend it.

Workers must be paid and respected!!

It has little Spanish, the food ingredients are of poor quality and from what I understand the treatment and working conditions of its workers leave much to be desired. If you are a person who enjoys Spanish gastronomy and has a little empathy for the workers, this is not your place.

This is all wrong. First of all, the boss doesn't make contracts and pays less than the minimum wage, and to make matters worse, he often doesn't even pay. The chef charges 6 an hour and works 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. They are Vietnamese and know nothing about Spanish food. The products are of poor quality, the beer is hot, the freezer is over 0 degrees and the ice is melting. If you have any respect for the food and the workers, don't come here. All the same. The first person did not have contracts and a minimum salary, and for the poor person, a menu was not available. The cocinero is cobranded 6 hours a day, 7 days a week and 12 hours a day. Son vietnamitas y no saben nada de comida española. The products are of poor quality, the cerveza is hot, the congelador is at least 0 degrees and the ice is dry. Si tenéis respeto por la gastronomía y los trabajadores, no vengáis.

I was told that there is injustice with the employees at this place. Please resolve this situation and make a public statement about it.

The food was really tasty and the service was attentive and very friendly.

Nice place and polite staff but sad food with the Veggie platter for 2 which looked appealing but had no Mediterranean herbs or spices, not even salt. Tiny croquettes and bland sauce. We did mention this to the staff but they just shrugged. Not worth the €45, sorry. Full marks for the goat‘s cheese though! €75 total with 2 x Aperol. Wouldn’t visit again.

Many years ago it was a really good tapas shop. Since the owner changed, the quality and service has decreased dramatically. It's a shame because it used to be really good. We recently had a company dinner there and unfortunately agreements made in advance were not kept. I've also been chasing a decent bill for weeks... I won't go there anymore - neither privately, especially not with corporate customers.

The worst and most expensive food I have ever eaten in my 53 years of life experience. We had a Vegi tapas plate for 2. TK vegetables, TK finger food a handful of peppers (if that was one) fatty potato. With two drinks where there were only ice cubes in it. Bill 53.80. Each of us only ate two bites. Nevertheless, we still have to pay because supposedly the boss wasn't there. Toilets bottom drawer women's toilets not lockable and not to sit down. 2 hours later I was in bed with stomach pain and not in the techno club. CAUTION!!!!!!!! When Asians have a Spanish tapas shop. Never again. Rip-off If there were minus ratings minus10 tendency to minus 20 I'm about to report this store to the health office. Thanks for nothing

Extremely delicious food and kind people

We got stranded here a little away from the tourist corner of Hackescher Markt after we found ourselves in front of a locked door at another restaurant despite having a reservation. Rustic and with an authentic ambience, delicious tapas, reasonably priced. Gladly again.

I tried both well-known tapas and tapas that were previously unknown to me here. It always tasted very good and I will always be happy to come back.

We ended up in this tapa bar by chance because our hotel is next door. Looked like Andalusia and the tapas were like that too. The goat cheese with rosemary honey is absolutely brilliant. The other tapas were also great. The service was very friendly and there was a free digestif at the end.

The lunch menu was super delicious and cheap

We had a tapas plate for 2 people (45€) and two espresso martinis (happy hour 7€ per drink). The food and drink were delicious. The ambience outside could be a little nicer and the seating outside could be a little more comfortable.

I went to this place a few days ago with some friends. The food was good and the server was very nice, but I saw a very unpleasant interaction between the bartender guy and a the server where he was yelling in front of us which made us feel very uncomfortable. We asked the server and he said it’s just the way it goes everyday. I felt bad

Cozy atmosphere. Tasty food! We ordered tapas set for 2 person and additional 4 more tapas. I dont remember what we ordered but it was tasty and the portion is alot for the four of us! I would highly recommend to get a bigger table. Our 6 people table was too full of various tapas and side dishes. The toilet is located on the upper-floor which is abit unusual as normally toilet is located deep buried in the basement.

No adequate communication possible in German! The dishes cannot be explained and the quality of the dishes unfortunately varies greatly.

I expected more when I looked at the menu, but maybe that was the problem: the calamari was relatively fatty and limp, and the croquetas de jamon were rather bland. I've ordered Pulpo a la gallega several times, but what was served here didn't have much to do with the original. Maybe the chef had a bad day, but failing three times out of three is just too bad.

Chose this eatery from TripAdviser. Was clearly a popular venue as we had the last table. Service was slow even at the beginning. The young lad who took our order was awesome and very fast. Drinks came back fast. The food was great. Could not fault it. Except one dish did not appear at all, and unusually no one came back to us until it was time to clear the table. We would have relieved a lot more drinks if the service had been better. So, fab food and atmosphere. A lot of work is needed on the service. Total no. of view at the time of writing=9.5m

Too expensive for the quality of the tapas, some of the waiters were very inexperienced.

They have little Spanish, they are Asian. The food was pitiful, the waiter was friendly but the owners are getas. If I could I would rate it worse. The worst restaurant I have ever been to in Germany. The only decent thing was the olives because the beer was not cold despite being draft.

We had put together a selection of tapas ourselves; 3x cold tapas followed by 3x warm tapas. Very tasty and with good service. The location, appearance etc. are nothing special but the food is great!

08/15 tapas, €55 for a plate and no bread with it. Costs extra😅San Miguel that was too warm was served in Warsteiner glasses. Nice staff, good happy hour. Price/performance rather poor.

The food was tasteless, and so was the draft beer. The squid I ordered was not ready.

We were thrilled! Very tasty food and the prices were ok too. The food came warm and quickly and tasted great! We would definitely come again.

So both of our cell phones were stolen from the table in front of the waiters when we were smoking in front of the restaurant! We still had to pay the drinks bill, thanks for the goodwill!!

This restaurant is GREAT. Big and flavourful tapas, great ambiance and friendly staff

We had reserved online. They probably didn't take this into account because when we arrived they didn't know anything about it and just quickly pushed tables together. It took 10 minutes between sitting down and getting the card, then choosing the drinks, then choosing the food and until everything was brought it was 1 hour and 15 minutes later. That was really a bit long. Admittedly, the store was well filled, which is normal on a Saturday. The food was really delicious, but a bit expensive. We then paid a total of €220 including tips for 6 people. All in all really good, can be recommended, but the service could be a little faster :)

The tapas were delicious and the price was reasonable. But the service is only interested in the first order. After that he won't be seen again. Bread with it or other drinks? Espresso afterwards? No chance. Even to pay you have to go to the counter in annoyance at some point. And what's the point of this strange "I don't speak German, but I understand everything"? We could work on that. Would upgrade the restaurant and this one really deserves it!

Best bar in Berlin! Super friendly, very attentive. The tapas are a delight and the wine (Pinot Gris) is highly recommended 😊 I'm sitting in the bar right now and I had to write this review and I actually don't like writing reviews. But I'm just super happy here 😊😊 Keep it up!!! ❤️

Excelent ,friendly and clean. Very good tapas

+ Food came very quickly + Service tried hard and friendly - Not all the dishes ordered were served, some were forgotten - Plates and cutlery only upon request even though food had already been served - Food was very greasy, we've had much better tapas Good to know: The staff could practically only speak English and Spanish.

I didn’t have a great experience and by the way- the owner had my comment taken down here, now reposting it! So don’t believe the good reviews as they are probably bought. Service was so rude as the server asked open out for a tip and made a scene about it, making me feel very uncomfortable. I didn’t tip him as a result, which only happens when I get bad service. We had the Appetizer platter which was low quality of food with luke warm items. Can’t recommend- safe yourself a headache and stay away from this dodgy place and go to one of the lovely ones in this neighbourhood.

Ideal if you want to go to jazz at b-flat afterwards. Ambience very good. Red house wine, even if not completely dry, very good. Gambas were a bit firm (fried a bit too long). Personnel origins far from Spain. But overall recommended.

Un restaurante mediocre tirando a malo, lamentablemente. sobretodo porque en el pasado era uno de los mejores restaurantes de tapas. Una lástima. Las tapas no tienen para nada la calidad de un restaurante español. La camarera no hablaba ni alemán ni español.

Haben dort sehr lecker gegessen, Qualität sehr gut, von außen wirkt das Restaurant nicht so ansprechend aber Inhalt zählt in diesem Fall.
