Atame Tapas Bar in Berlin

Lovely Spanish tapas bar. I love the terrace🙂 I miss more Spanish beer!

Incredibly rude staff, called to ask if they take credit cards and have WiFi before travelling there, the person from Atame Tapas yelled at us and hung up on us TWICE, rudely complaining that the 2 second phone call was taking up his time. If you don’t want customers to pay your salary, and come to spend money, eat at your restaurant, continue such “service”!!! Avoid going there as a customer!!!

Unfortunately the old shine is gone! Still a cozy place with good tapas, but no longer particularly tasty... Didn't they used to have bread and olives on the house? And three lamb skewers instead of just two? Although they were perfectly fried, the meat was rather mixed and difficult to chew; The calamari wasn't really crispy on the outside and not tender on the inside, only the patatas bravas and the sauce were delicious as always! The mochito was different than what was ordered and the service was very nice, but it was hard to keep up... Again: overall good, but no longer exceptional - the old charm is gone... It's a shame.

As for Spanish food... none. It's fine to try German food, but a little bit of Spain is appreciated. It's the best place I've eaten in Berlin.

I don't like giving bad reviews. But I really didn't enjoy my visit. The staff, in particular, weren't particularly friendly. We arrived at the restaurant around 9:50 p.m. and were told we had 10 minutes to order, which is fine, even though the restaurant is open until 11 p.m. We hurried to order, but we were completely made to feel like we weren't welcome as guests. I actually wanted to redeem a NeoTaste voucher and were told, quite rudely, that it wasn't possible, even though we met the conditions. We also ended up getting more food than we ordered. When we pointed out that we hadn't ordered it, the staff became rude again. Of course, we had to pay for it. I understand if you've had a long day, but you should still treat your customers appropriately. I definitely didn't feel welcome. The food was okay, but I definitely won't be going there again.

Very bad experience during New Year's Eve 2025

The tapas bar offers indoor and outdoor seating – both are okay, but the overall ambiance seems a bit dated. The service is friendly, but not Spanish-friendly. The food? Solid, but unfortunately without surprises. The tapas were rather standard fare, lacking in creativity and rather mediocre in taste – we've had much better. The wine was okay, but nothing memorable. Less pleasant: The restrooms – definitely in need of renovation and not a place you'd want to spend time in. Verdict: Friendly, but rather bland – anyone looking for a real tapas experience probably won't be satisfied here (neither culinary nor atmospherically).

Unfortunately, follow-up orders didn't work. And when poor service results in drinks being charged at the regular happy hour price because of a tip that's too small, that's pretty pathetic. There are certainly better tapas bars in Berlin.

I’m deeply shocked by the way I was treated in your establishment. I came in to use the restroom and explicitly said I was willing to pay for it. Instead of a simple response, your waiter yelled at me and aggressively told me to leave. As a calm, respectful person — and someone who was actually considering staying for a meal — I find this behavior absolutely unacceptable. I was treated with hostility for no reason, in a way that was both humiliating and unprovoked. No one deserves to be spoken to like that, especially not a potential guest ready to pay.

Absolutely terrible service. The staff yelled at us for no reason, and the waiter was incredibly rude. I’ve never felt so disrespected in a place that’s supposed to serve customers. Avoid at all costs.

Not nice to beg for tips in this economy. They put you in the spot when you pay, the "normal button" adds extra tip. Not the EU way.

Very disappointing restaurant, the reservation was not taken into account, the toilets are clearly not clean and as for the food, very disappointing, frozen dishes when we expected homemade tapas. Avoid.

The food is very tasty, but the drinks are very expensive. Payment is only possible with cash or PayPal for friends and family, which is very dubious. The atmosphere is okay, but very loud, even with just a few customers. We wouldn't go back.

We came in 4 adults and 1 child and ordered the Meet Tapas (Variado de Carne) for 4 people. The portion was really enough for us and delicious. Service was friendly, they even offered us some Schnapps at the end. We will come back.

food was yummy but the manager/ bar tender/ server?? was extremely rude to a latina server. he kept yelling at her in front of everyone and making a scene. it made us very uncomfortable.

The food was a minor saving grace about this place. However, the manager was continuously yelling at his only server throughout the night. The server was visibly uncomfortable. This behavior was widely inappropriate and ruined our experience.

Be careful, the rating is very misleading! Tapas without any flavor. Nothing is prepared on site, it smells like it's frozen to 10,000. I'm not even talking about the sangria. A common preparation sold for €14 for 50cl. Big disappointment fortunately that at the start we said we would only order 2 to taste.

Unfortunately there are only ready-made paellas here, the sangria was really bad but expensive. Only the place in the sun made up for it. No recommendation.

Happy Hour is only on the sign outside, and the wine menu only says Happy Hour for the house wine, even though the sign at the entrance says otherwise.

We ordered two glasses of sangria and two tapas for two people. After 50 minutes, we finally received our tapas—but with no plates, no forks, no bread, no napkins, and still no drinks. We had to ask for them twice, and in the end, we went to get them ourselves because our tapas were getting cold. Only then did the sangria arrive. This was one of the worst service experiences we’ve ever had. Tables around us were either leaving or visibly frustrated. Our waiter never apologized for the delay and made no effort to compensate for the terrible service. We’re still laughing about what an absolute disaster it was.

Just chaos. Waited 30 minutes for the first drink. 60 minutes for food. Warm tappas came before the cold ones, one dish was completely forgotten. The guests were out and about more to place orders, get drinks and food than the waiters. Waiters were inattentive and not friendly. When I paid and I didn't give a tip (why would I?), he took the receipt, crumpled it up and threw it on the floor without comment. No thanks

Sorry to say, but this visit at Atame was a disaster. First they tried to sell us a wine we didn’t as for, but a cheaper one, luckily we kept our stand an got an OK Rioja😊 then we waited more than a hour for some ham and a cheese plate. When the food finally arrived it turned out that the ham wasn’t Iberico as states in the menue😖the cheese plate was also quite dry☹️

(Ordered via Ubereats) Everything cold, calamari so soft that the breading fell off, chorizo ​​cold, 3 (!!!) hairs in the champions, cheese softened and warm, baked cheese cold. The only thing that was good were the olives. Ordered for over €60, I had to throw everything in the microwave again, have to put calamari in the oven, and the champions were simply thrown away because of all the hair. Update: trying to delete my review 2 years later. Again and again

Never again! 2 adults, 2 children (4&5) Happy hour cocktails were still charged at full price. Bread with the tapas surcharge. In fact, only 2 adults ate and with 6 tapas they barely managed to feel full from starters. As a result, there was only a 90 cent tip without commenting on anything or being asked how it was... I was then exposed throughout the store for the tip. I replied that I was sorry and that we were not full and dissatisfied. This was followed by insults and we left the restaurant!

Very nice tapas bar with very good food. The service was nice and the place was nicely decorated. It is a bit cramped, but the good food can be accommodated without any problems.

The person who serves is super unpleasant, when we left, he told us not to return to that place for not leaving him a 20% tip, and he also told us that to consume a beer we could not stay more than 30 minutes. Treatment could be improved, unpleasant person, this does not represent what Spanish culture is, full of joy and happiness.

We reserved a table for Valentine's Day and were really looking forward to the Spanish food. The food was also okay and there was a schnapps on the house, which was very nice. However, when it came to payment and my companion was confused by all the tip options and then pressed no tip in a hurry, we were literally attacked by the waiter, possibly also the owner of the restaurant. You are not obliged to give a tip and in retrospect you would have liked to do it in cash after payment, but given the employee's behavior when there is no tip, that is no longer an option for me. He asked us why we didn't tip and whether the food wasn't tasty, we said no. He then said if we didn't tip, he would have to take €3 from the bar's money and pay this tip whatever. Afterwards he crumpled up our receipts and threw them in the corner; neither a goodbye nor a thank you was said. It's been a long time since I've had such bad and disgraceful service in a restaurant and I regret the visit there, which I was actually looking forward to. Guest is king and apparently is not considered a guest there under any circumstances. If you want to eat in a good atmosphere and in a well-kept location, then please go somewhere else.

I have made a reservation, it is approved with an email. I just called to say I will be 15 min late. But they somehow couldn’t find the reservation and talked really not nice and very impolite . They shut the phone just like that to my face. I will never go there.

We were a business group, we came with high expectations. The service was delayed, they were not attentive to the table, the food was good but otherwise, it could be greatly improved. The worst part: at the end of the dinner, they did not receive a card to pay, we brought clients and the situation was quite unpresentable. They should have warned this at the time of my reservation or indicated in the letter but no! And the quality-price ratio is super disproportionate. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant for large groups nor if you require a valid invoice.

Not a good experience. Bad service from an uninterested waiter. Dirty glasses, simple food (ordered tapas for 2), disgusting toilets, and very poor payment options. They only took cash or PayPal payment to an unprofessional email address. NOT to recommend!

We initially approached the store very positively, but were quickly disappointed. The garlic sauce champions were simply canned champions in cheap oil with garlic cloves. This used to be one of the best tapas places in Mitte and one of my favorites for years. But last time I visited, the quality of food had gone down. There was also just a single person serving the entire restaurant and even though it was just our table for an hour and the place was empty, ordering took considerable coordination. Nothing bad, just the taste, preparation and service did not reflect the prices any more.

Unfortunately, the food was very, very fatty. So to a degree where you felt really uncomfortable afterwards. (fish platter for 2) Maybe you have to combine the dishes a little differently, I don't know, but it was really too much like that. But the shrimp were very tasty and I also liked the anchovies. And also for the middle, 6.50 for a beer is really hard... Service was great, super nice employees.

If the son has successfully completed his bachelor's degree, something more comprehensive can be served up. This restaurant is definitely deleting negative reviews… Service was non-existent. Took a long time to be served. Drinks orders were taken twice. Our food arrived and we were nearly finished eating, and drinks still had not come. We had to get up from the table and walk to the staff to remind them of the drinks order. Similar with the bill, we had to leave our table to ask for the bill - it never arrived. We stood up and decided to leave and pay at the same time, as we were tired waiting. The waiter offered us 4 shots, which was very strange as 2 of us ordered non-alcoholic beers, and we did not see him pour the shots … they were waiting on the counter for us. We didn’t receive an itemized bill. We were shown a photograph of the bill, taken on the waiter‘s phone. Very dodgy and unprofessional. The food was decent, but the service made the experience not worth it.

We agree with the previous reviews. Were there on New Year's Eve. Here is a list of all the events that we could ultimately only take with humor: -The tables were set far too close together, which meant that some glasses broke during the evening. - After half an hour we were able to order. We waited a total of 40 minutes to even get our drinks. -We waited in vain for the starter, before that came the tapas plate. After asking three (!) times, the starter came. Before that, the waiter asked what the starter was. (On an evening when there is only one menu to choose from) At least an additional cheese plate came as an apology. -The tapas plate for two people that was brought was also incomplete. All the fish was missing so we got a new plate. -The cream was very tasty, but the tapas plate was rather semi-good. -We also had to get up and go to the waiter to pay. As an apology there was schnapps on the house. The gestures of reparations were very nice and I'm sure the waiters did their best that evening. For us it was still the first and last visit. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Many years ago it was a really good tapas shop. Since the owner changed, the quality and service has decreased dramatically. It's a shame because it used to be really good. We recently had a company dinner there and unfortunately agreements made in advance were not kept. I've also been chasing a decent bill for weeks... I won't go there anymore - neither privately, especially not with corporate customers. Update: I received the invoice after over 6 months of chasing. But it still wasn't worth the stress.

The bit expensive, but very good dishes, service and ambience.

It started off great, the food was very nice, but we had to wait and wave a long time to get a waiter to notice us a couple of times, even though the place was practically empty. When I went to the bathroom the boss told me to stick around after paying because we'd get something from the house. When I only tipped 1€ because I thought the service wasn't too good, nothing from the house arrived. He said he expected a bigger tip, but eventually did give us an aperitivo. Where I'm from you tip according to service, not because it is expected. Left with an unpleasant feeling after this, which is a shame cus the food was great.

We booked for Christmas and it turned out to be a big disappointment. First they gave us the menu... 20 minutes after ordering the waiter came by to tell us that we couldn't order anything, that we can only order the Christmas menu (which they never told us about and it was obviously more expensive). After two hours of waiting we ended up eating a very dry paella and for dessert they brought only one crema catalana to the table (not one per person). When paying they had already included the service, something they didn't tell us and we didn't realize until we checked later. Basically, average food, very expensive prices and disorganized service. NO LO RECOMIENDO.

We came on NYE and the ambience was great! The food was good too - we got the tapas platter. It had amazing shrimp, delicious peppers & potatoes, good sausage, and solid calamari (some were tender, some were not). The anchovies were, well, anchovies ... The creme de Catalina was out of this world! Props. Alas, the sangria was flavorful but watery. The staff was really friendly but didn't seem organized to handle the crowd of NYE. All in all, good food and a great place, but a little chaotic. We'll try again, on a non-holiday, if the opportunity arises!

Our Christmas dinner experience was disappointing from start to finish. Despite booking a table in advance, we were informed upon arrival that we couldn’t order what we wanted as there was only one set menu available for the evening. This menu, advertised as suitable for three people, was far from sufficient to satisfy us. The highlight of the evening ended up being the two doners we ordered after leaving the restaurant. Definitely not the festive meal we had hoped for.
