At the Olives-farmer in Füssen

We were very disappointed with our restaurant visit. Even the beef broth turned out to be just a simple packet soup, artificially flavored and barely edible. We had to send it back, but at least we weren't charged for it. The Kaiserschmarrn (shredded pancake) was also of very poor quality: obviously made from a ready-made batter. The biggest disappointment, however, was the "Original Viennese Veal Schnitzel." Instead of a classic, tender veal schnitzel, we received three paper-thin pieces of meat that were almost like cardboard. The breading was dark and tasted distinctly of old frying oil—as did the fries, which also had an unpleasant, stale taste. We were truly shocked by the price and the quality of the food. The salad was also drowning in dressing. Overall, the food was neither fresh nor high-quality. I'm surprised by the good reviews. That's why we went to the restaurant in the first place. They offer a lot on the menu, and that's probably why the quality is so poor. However, I must say that the service was not to blame and was really kind and attentive.

With my mixed grill, I had the impression that the meat had already been pre-cooked and the vegetables were very overcooked. The French fries, on the other hand, were very good. If the plate had been piping hot, it would have improved the whole experience. I also think the staff shouldn't be smoking in front of the entrance; it makes me wonder if they wash their hands afterward.

Here you can still get good, traditional German food. Where do you find that these days? And it's so good, too. With a view of Lake Hopfensee. The service is friendly and helpful. What more could you want?! We'll definitely be back. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Oh, and the homemade beer is highly recommended...

Delicious pizza and burgers Gluten-free options available

We were there on holiday many years ago and had a very good meal. That's why we were able to recommend the restaurant. But this time, to put it mildly, the food was abysmal. We had gyros made of either turkey or chicken – it was indefinable. It didn't taste like gyros or anything similar; it was mushy, bland, and so on. Unfortunately, they were simply too cowardly or too decent to mention it in the restaurant. Our conclusion: we wouldn't eat there again. It wasn't good value for money; any fast-food place does it better.

The waiter was very courteous, the food was very good, the atmosphere was great, and the view of Lake Hopfensee was unbeatable.

Due to its location and setting, it's obviously geared toward tourism. Poor service and rude treatment of guests. We ordered a vegetarian burger that tasted indefinably disgusting. I asked the waiter if this burger is always like this? (Smothered in ketchup, bone dry). He said yes, but he wouldn't eat something like that on principle because it's vegetarian. The locals advised us against the restaurant beforehand, unfortunately, and rightly so.

Food was ok. Unfortunately we hadn't read the reviews before visiting. Staff was extremely rude and ironic. Both waiters had a weird and arrogant attitude.They didn't bother explaining anything on the menu, neither did they offer an English menu.

We were here around 12-1:30 p.m. during the fall break. The restaurant was still pleasantly empty. The food was delicious and the portions were generous! We both had the rump steak with fries, and for dessert, we shared a portion of Kaiserschmarrn (sweet pancakes). The prices are also perfectly reasonable. The location and the view of the lake and the mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. If we ever vacation here again, we'll definitely come back. What's also really great is that they offer gluten-free options for those with allergies. They also offer organic teas, which were also very tasty. And they even serve beer from their own brewery. The food at the neighboring tables also looked very good, especially the burger, which I'll definitely try next time.

I think the restaurant is very nice. The food was, in my opinion, super delicious, especially the Kaiserschmarrn with ice cream, whipped cream, and apple sauce, and the fries. Even though we arrived late, we were still served and got our food quickly. The pizza had a little too much cheese, but otherwise it was very tasty.

I tried several times to reserve a table by phone and online, but without success. No one answered the phone, and no one confirmed the appointment request online either. The blunt explanation was that the office wasn't staffed. I'm just wondering how the other guests (the place was quite busy) reserved their seats and how those who ordered their food by phone for pickup managed to reach anyone. We still ate there because of the review, after asking ourselves if we could sit outside without a reservation. The food was good despite everything, and the wine warmed us from the inside out.

The food here is great. Excellent for people who can't tolerate wheat, there are plenty of alternatives. Even the pizza is made from 100% spelt flour.

A cozy restaurant with friendly staff and a diverse menu where everyone can find something delicious. We were delighted with everything we were served. We were especially pleased to find a selection of vegan dishes on the menu. These were just as plentiful, delicious, and lovingly prepared as the other dishes. It was equally pleasing and important for us that we were allowed to bring our dog with us. We will definitely be back when we're in the area.

We're here on vacation in the region. We saw the restaurant's menu in our vacation apartment. It looked very nice and appealing, so we drove there. Our first impression was, unfortunately, very touristy, despite the beautiful lakeside location. What immediately put us off was that everyone who leaves a good review receives a small block of cheese – there's a barcoded display on every table to encourage positive reviews. We think this explains the 4,000 (!) almost entirely positive reviews. However, we stayed because our daughter was hungry. We thought the food was okay, but absolutely nothing special. The three of us paid €78 and unfortunately, we find the price completely unreasonable for the quality. The roulade was tough and stringy, and it came with frozen vegetables. The burgers, for €20, were dry, with only salad and a frozen patty. We won't be visiting the restaurant again and are very disappointed because the reviews are misleading.

Four adults and one child spontaneously stopped by the restaurant after a visit to Neuschwanstein Castle. We received a very warm welcome, and the food and service were excellent. We tried both local and Mediterranean dishes, and we were extremely satisfied!

Run-down restaurant, cold, unfriendly service. The pork fillet had a musty taste, the sauce was thick and reminiscent of a packet of gravy. The cordon bleu and the fries tasted the same, both from the same fryer. Long wait even though it was barely busy. Once, never again.

Very tasty, we'll eat here again. We had a roast beef with onions (photo) and a pork fillet Allgäu style. The meat was very tender, something we'd never had before. The cheese spaetzle were very tasty, the cheese was very good, and the carrots were...very, very tasty. We had lunch here, sat outside, and looked out at the lake and the mountains. The restaurant is beautifully situated, and we'll always remember the meal. Next time we're there, we'll eat there again. So, we've eaten there three times now, it was always delicious, but you could tell a difference between each visit. We had the same dish twice, the portion size varied, and the second time, the sauce/dip on the vegetables was missing, which was there the first time and the third time. But we're giving it 5 stars because it was delicious. A request to the restaurant: please buy new knives or sharpen the current ones. We had real trouble cutting the currywurst and the fillets; it was more like smashing them. September 25, 2025 We went there again today for dinner, this time we had the burgers. They looked delicious, but the taste wasn't that great. The homemade sauce overpowered the flavor of the burger, the patty had no roasted flavors, and who on earth serves crushed tomatoes with fries? Ketchup tastes sweet, your "ketchup" tastes sour/bitter, like crushed tomatoes. You can skip the mayonnaise you served. They used to have mayonnaise, but now it's something else, more runny than mayonnaise, a different color, and a completely different taste. I think it was sour cream or something like that. You don't need to come here to eat a burger, which is a shame, hence the point adjustment.

Delicious pizza and traditional German food!

Correction: Unfortunately 😞 We were there again today on our way home from the south. Unfortunately, last year was no exception. Again, the food was terrible. We returned the roast beef with onions after the first bite – which we couldn't even chew, let alone swallow. It was canceled, but the "substitute" cheese spaetzle weren't that great either, and the salad was too sour for our taste (probably just a ready-made dressing poured over it). My grilled plate didn't look very appetizing and was definitely not worth the €21.80 price tag. The pork and beef were a bit too dry. I think they've gotten carried away. There's Italian, Greek, Croatian, German, 😅 Bavarian... - they think they can do anything, and unfortunately, the quality is just that. Sorry - we won't be back. _________ Guys, I'm telling you: you have to go there. The waitresses (men and women) are on the ball (courteous but not pushy) and friendly. The food is excellent and the prices are absolutely fair. NOTE: The portions are not small. If you're lucky (there are seats available), you can sit outside with a view of the lake and the mountains in the background. We come here every year on our return trip from Italy. I highly recommend it.

The view is beautiful, but the service is curt and unfriendly. As foreign tourists, we were not welcomed here. The German-speaking customers at the table next to us were also not warmly addressed. We got a frustrated impression. We had an appetizer. It was okay, but really too much to choose a main course afterward. That was a shame. Anyone who leaves a positive review on Google is offered cheese. So don't be fooled. There are other beautiful spots by the water nearby. Perhaps those are more worthwhile.
