In this self-service restaurant we not only had a nice place right by the lake, but also really good food at fair prices. We had roast pork and pollock. The portions were plentiful and the staff was consistently friendly.

Bad choice, we spent 3 euros on parking to discover minutes later that they only accept cash payments (Neanderthals). Who uses money nowadays? I left and didn't eat at the restaurant. Evolve! We are in 2024!

Very nice view! Staff could be friendlier and more attentive. If we were to place the order, the waitress would rather talk about technical processes in the restaurant than listen to us. Food was ok for the price but nothing outstanding. We then wanted to order dessert, but instead we only received a mushy answer that the kitchen was closed at 8 p.m. (in a holiday resort???). No card payment possible, pretty Stone Age standards!

Super friendly. Food comes very quickly. Price performance is also tip top. Only disadvantage. You can only pay with cash.

Food and value for money were great. No frills, just simple, well-made dishes. The principle of self-service should perhaps be reconsidered if the store is not that full and there are four employees behind the counter. An absolute no-go is that there is no card payment.

So that's what I call a restaurant with a view. A separate disabled toilet is available. The café is on the ground floor and is therefore ideal for wheelchair users. There are enough places and we got a place outside, right by the lake. We were able to watch the ferry arrive several times and enjoyed the delicious food and drinks. Try the blackcurrant spritzer. A dream. Like everything there. Ultimate visit tip if you want to have a special day.

Children are not allowed to order anything. Unfriendly, especially the man in the kitchen, who says that something better would be much too expensive, a complete rip-off, children don't like it

Sausage salad from the supermarket and extra fried potatoes for 7 euros added up are in no way reasonable for paying almost 19 euros... You can't give any stars for the service because self-service is practiced there... The ambience is perfect and that's why we will come back but eat something else.

Roast pork very dry and warmed up in the pan. Priced too high for this quality. Service friendly and quick. The statement that the food was not good was not discussed further. Great ambience.

Went there today after a long trip. The positive thing ahead: the view of the lake! Super! Now for the actual review: Ordered: Schnitzel with fries - actually the simplest dish but I still couldn't get the breading to stick to the meat! Currywurst - have you ever eaten an ice-cold currywurst with warm sauce? So I did it for the first time today. Absolute no-go! Salad was super tasty! Kaiserschmarn - very tasty, but absolutely too expensive for €19.90. When I asked the boss, she gave the following answer: “It’s Allgäuer and it costs that much”. In addition, ALL drinks (Cola, Spezi, apple spritzer) were bought from Aldi, Lidl or similar. They tasted accordingly and were then stale. Something like that doesn't belong at Forgensee. It is absolute impudence and impudence to offer such a thing. Sorry! Test it yourself 👍

Very nice staff, located right on the lake.

No, sorry... we were disappointed. Price/performance is not right at all and the staff would do well with a smile. My question as to whether someone was coming to the table or whether it was self-service was answered very rudely as I walked past. We were able to look for beer in our two cyclists. Normally I would have said something but I didn't want to give in to the staff's mood again. There are 2 stars only because of the beautiful location on the lake.

Nice view. Kaiserschmarrn a little dark, but the taste is still ok. Unfortunately the medallions were not, but a completely normal schnitzel, which was unfortunately fried for too long. Attention: cash payment only!

Salmon fillet with potatoes tasted like school lunch. Potatoes were totally tasteless. Disappointing. The location is nice.

Order yourself at the checkout and the food will then be brought out and cleared away quickly. Everything we had tasted very good and we went there twice to eat. Unfortunately no card payment possible. Small portions only cost 2 euros less. I think there's not enough of a discount for small portions for children. Partial wind protection outside which is really good.

Cadre très sympa, la nourriture est correcte mais l’accueil n’est pas très chaleureux et les toilettes sont sales et payantes

Große Terrasse direkt am See. Übersichtliche bürgerliche Speisekarte, aber sehr gut zusammengestellt. Selbstbedienung ist angesagt. Man muss aber nur die Bestellung im Lokal aufgeben. Das Essen wird an die nummerierten Tische gebracht, und es kam sehr schnell, Kompliment! Dazu große Portionen, auf großen Tellern nett angerichtet. Geschmacklich sehr gut. Größtes Manko: Nur Barzahlung möglich. Verbesserungswürdig: Keine Essig-Öl-Menage auf den Tischen. Salz und Pfeffer gibt es auf Nachfrage in Papierbeutelchen. Und das Besteck ist etwas zu blechern, Pfadfinder lassen grüßen. Bei dem Ambiente würde Besteck mit Holzgriffen gut passen.

Die Lage ist top und man könnte richtig was draus machen. Allerdings war es heute reine Abfertigung. Grundsätzlich akzeptieren die keine Kartenzahlung, nur Barzahlung, es gibt keine Rechnung und die Kasse stand fast die ganze Zeit offen. In dem sonst so korrekten Bayern weckt das sofort Vermutungen. Es wirkt abschreckend.

Keine Kartenzahlung! Ich finde das ist heute eigentlich ein Ausschlusskriterium ist, gab leider kurzfristig keine Alternative. Selbstbedienung... Ausblick auf den Forggensee ist schön.

Got a sandwich for afternoon snack. The kaesebrot and schinkenbrot were nice but definitely not what I expected (see photos). It’s a very relaxing place with playground near by. Cash only payments

Haben dort kurz angehalten zum Essen und ich muss sagen es war super lecker und das Personal ist freundlich und aufmerksam. Mit einer schönen Aussicht auf der Forggensee schmeckt es gleich noch besser. Kann ich nur empfehlen. Das essen wird an den Tisch gebracht, bestellt wird selber an der Kasse.

Sehr schön gelegen am See mit Aufsicht aufs Wasser, Berge und Schlösser. Essen und Getränke muss man an der Theke bestellen, das Essen wird gebracht. Essen ist okay, aber reichlich.

Fast eine Stunde auf Curriwurst mit Pommes gewartet. Wust in Frittöse gebacken . Pommes waren kalt. Schlechter und teurer Imbisbetrieb.

Essen war gut. Die Dame am Tresen war net. Da selbst Bedienung ist und keine Kartenzahlung akzeptiert wird, ein Punkt Abzug beim Service und Ambiente.

Wir wollten die große Rundfahrt machen. Da ich kein Kleingeld für den Parkautomaten hatte, fragte ich, ob ich 5 € gewechselt bekomme. Mir wurde dann gesagt, das geht nicht und wenn ich mir was kaufe, dann könnte man wechseln. Der Geschäftsführer erlaubt es nicht, wurde mir gesagt. Da die Zeit schon etwas gedrängt hat, wollte ich nichts kaufen. Eigentlich wollten wir uns nach der Rundfahrt dort noch für alle in Ruhe was bestellen, aber wir haben dann auch darauf verzichtet, sowas ist mir in Bayern noch nie passiert. Mein Sohn wollte ein Eis, hatte aber Verständnis, dass wir da nicht mehr hingingen. Die Lage ist hier zu gut, um hier eine Finger für den Gast krumm zu machen ohne dass dabei gleich was rausspringt. IMHO solle man den potentiellen Gästen doch helfen, das Parkticket zu bezahlen.

Leckeres Essen in wunderschönen Ambiente. Leider nur Selbstbedienung...

Ich habe eine xxl Currywurst mit Pommes und einer großen spezi bestellt. Das ganze für ca. 17 Euro. Die xxl currywurst war eine stinknormale zu viel zu überhöhten Preis. Da man aber hier die Lage auch mit zahlt ist es nachvollziehbar aber nicht gerechtfertigt. Zudem besteht hier Selbstbedienung, das Essen wird gebracht. Wir waren hier wegen der Lage hatten und uns war hier eigentlich auch schon bewusst, daß es hier besonders teuer sein wird und nicht besonders gut. Das Personal war allerdings sehr freundlich.

Sehr schöner Platz am Forggensee.Sehr köstlicher Kaiserschmarren, der leckerste den ich jemals gegessen habe. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall gerne wieder!
